Trading in altcoins can be started even at 0.001btc but that kind of trading doesnt worth any think,the minimum amount i say should be 0.25btc reserved for that.Its not neccessary to use them all at once,must that much must be in reserve.
I think even 0.1 btc would be sufficient.In fact there is no minimum amount needed for trading but if you want to make big,invest big but you should be able to afford the risk also 0.25 is actually just too much for a newcomers to trading job,0.001 is quite effective if you can manage to always making profit and the fees doesn't matter at this time,otherwise still better to save money and gain more to start with higher balance but there's nothing wrong to start with 0.001 how can 0.25 too much to start trading? i guess it is a reasonable amount , you can not expect anything if you start trading with 0.001 lol , even 0.25 for most trader are still very little capital , you need to take a risk even you are a newcomer it is the important thing in trading. |

I dont think that you can say the one is better than the other because i know for srue that no one is better than the other one becuase lots of peopel are not gettign what they want to the bitcoin and also not with the paypal.
of course you can , each bitcoin and paypal have plus and minus , all you need are to campare both and pick which one better based on most people opinions , as for now people still prefer to use paypal , because several factors like less place to spend bitcoin while paypal have more places. |

Probably not in the next 10 years. Ethereum took 2 years to come out ,and its just a pile of crap, with all the hacks and scams going on there. (not to mention the hardforks).

LTC = Which is a copycat, so probably not
NMC = Which doesnt really serve as currency
MONERO = Probably high chance, but it doesnt even have a GUI wallet yet, so better make that come out first.
Other than that, there is no viable competitor to bitcoin ,and probably wont be for the next 2 years, and to beat bitcoin...? That would take a lot more than that!

the main problem with most people replying here is that they think risk is equal to gamble so they can never make any profit from.
but in fact this kind of risk has its own way of being measured and you can predict the risks and try to evade them hence making the most profit out of this business.
