Exploring the site at the moment, one thing I noticed is I can't type on the search bar the keywords I'm looking.
Take note, I'm not registered on the site yet, so my question is, do I need to register first before I can make a quick search?

1802  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: August 13, 2021, 04:31:56 PM
this is a difficult choice, if you look at the price of bitcoin now then I prefer to be paid with bitcoin, but if it turns out that one day the price of bitcoin drops drastically, surely everyone will still choose fiat.

So, choosing both is the best option.
In my case, since there are still no merchants in my place that come to accept crypto payment, i prefer to get paid in cash. It would be hard for me to puchase all my basic needs and necessities if i still have to process my bitcoin from a reliable exchange and still have to pay its high transaction fee.

However, i know i should also have some bitcoin in my wallet as part of my investment. Bitcoin is still incomparable if you consider it as an asset or investment so atleast we should also learn to balance bitcoin from fiat according from its real life uses.
1803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will The Sorrow of BTC Be The Pleasure of Altcoins? on: August 13, 2021, 04:03:48 PM
Bitcoin is the icon of cryptocurrency, there is no cryptocurrency without Bitcoin then there is no use of alternative coins like there is no main road to traverse to reach the destination, Bitcoin indirectly has a strong relationship with Altcoins but the role of bitcoin dominates 80% of cryptocurrencies.
There is no way that altcoins will come to celebrate bitcoin's sorrow because bitcoin will never be beaten by altcoins in the long run. As long as bitcoin remains to be the king of crypto, altcoins are more likely to follow bitcoin's destination. And if bitcoin losses its value, i don't think altcoins will ever come to survive too when the king of crypto has failed in its goal.
1804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are other cryptocurrencies not like Bitcoin? on: August 13, 2021, 03:35:41 PM
Bitcoin is the most decentralized and less controlled cryptocurrency, and that characteristic has made bitcoin unique in its ways, most of the altcoins in the market are controlled by individuals that can easily manipulate the market that is why altcoin can not be as stable as bitcoin.
Bitcoin will always take the lead and altcoins are made so that investors will come up with some alternative coins to invest. Just imagine this, if all cryptocurrencies are just like bitcoin, then the concept for diversification of coins will not be recognized anymore. The whole crypto market becomes boring because the flow of the movement of the coins will only focus on bitcoin. Just my thought.
1805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XRP is pumping now. on: August 13, 2021, 01:41:58 PM
Wow.. this is the first time I saw XRP is pumping really hard,.. may you guys share what are the reasons why XRP whose been sleeping is now pumping already? Do we have a positive news against the SEC, or a different news?

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/xrp/

Currently have 47% increase and it could reach the price of 1 usd soon.

XRP has now become 1 dollar. Even though it is one dollar, it seems to me that its price has increased much less than that of other coins. XRP price need to 5$ Atlast

It only took 1.5 cents to reach $1, this is the highest increase ever as it is up more than 35% in a week. I'm happy because XRP is not bothered by lawsuit issues, they can convince investors and make the market respond positively.

XRP gaining since Bitcoin also recieving good support, the market for this coin stil positive as like what the post above

you said, XRP should reached $3-$5 cause Bitcoin, ETH and BNB already made a time high while this coin since the lawsuit

till now still fighting to exceed with $1 mark.

That's the highest it has achieved so far after the first bull run. During the first bull run this year, XRP has reached $1.55 but still less than 50% of its ATH, so it's not so significant compared to other major coins that have already surpass its many previously achieved ATH.
1806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 13, 2021, 01:27:08 PM
Korver is a good backup for Harris, if Harris will struggle again, he can of course help because he also has a lot of playoffs experience already. What I'm seeing is that the nets are really competing with the Lakers in getting veterans at a minimum salary, of course, this also gives an opportunity to the veterans to have their championship in their career.

The Nets will sign Korver, not as part of the roster, but as a player development assistant coach. Try to refer to the discussion above.

But even for let's say he signed as a player, there's no such thing as a competition between teams signing veterans. That's weird. Cheesy

The Nets have hired ex-NBA sharpshooter Kyle Korver as a player development assistant coach.

Maybe they really need to hire him as Harris their 3 point sharpshooter was not sharp during the playoffs.

Since 3 point shooting is the game now in the NBA, they need to also improve their 3 point shooting, I know the Nets are already good 3 point shooting but they need some consistency especially in a high intense game like the playoffs where defense is very tight.

Is this Harris first playoff appearance though? I'm asking maybe he is also affected by the gitters of having his first playoffs that's why he was inconsistent with the game against the Bucks.

So adding Korver as a development coach is good indeed for the Nets. Harris though is already a good percentage 3 point shooter, maybe what Korver can bring is to prepare him coming from screen. Or Korver can help the rest of the team in free throws as he also have a good free three shooting during his prime.

I think he has already a playoffs experience as his first two seasons is with the Cavaliers, but maybe he is just a rookie at that time and he was not given enough minutes. https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/harrijo01.html

He played 5 seasons already with the Nets, and only in last season where the Nets entered the playoffs so most probably its his real playoffs appearance with some good minutes.

Here's the playoffs log for complete information.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/h/harrijo01/gamelog-playoffs/

Thanks mate, so yeah, I would consider his last season playoffs was his real test as he was given enough time and role, to be the outside shooter they needed, but unfortunately, when they play on the road in the series against the Bucks, he didn't score that much.

So that's where Korver can teach him as development coach, and partake all the experience he has with Harris to be steady and constant specially on the roads during playoffs.

If I'm not mistaken, Korver is a great defender too, so he can also teach some tricks on how a shooter will defend at the same time. This is a good development for the Nets, they really are serious about improving their players and they've seen other teams are a big threat to their campaign.

This coming season could be their last chance, if they will not win a championship, then people will conclude that the big 3 is not effective.
1807  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: August 13, 2021, 12:39:54 PM
From my experience and gamblers i know will only use this to try to make more money in gambling so they can cover their taxes with the winnings which will somewhat lead them to losing all the money..

Taxing the money on everything is the government's job to make money and make things worse for the people.

Each country has its own rules regarding gambling tax. There are countries where you have to pay tax on the profits per month. In month 1 - 100,000 eur profit, and in month 2 - 90,000 loss, then you will have to pay something of 29% tax from month 1. Count out your profit. But I don't know to what extent governments are actively involved in checking such matters.

Are you sure? I haven't heard about huge taxes like this one 29%.
I've heard in California the tax is very huge somewhat around the percentage you've mentioned but are the taxes the same in every state of the USA?
For checking matters i think government checks the people on priority who're earning a lot of money and keeps on checking if they're paying their taxes but i'm certain agencies like FBI keep a regular watch on huge transactions and keep inquiring about those from authorities and authorities get the basic idea from that.

Yeah it did actually happen about 29% tax.

Netherlands to bring in temporary gambling tax increase

"Fully licensed and regulated operators in the Netherlands currently pay 29% tax on gross gaming revenue from slots, casino gambling and all forms of remote gambling. Under the Dutch government’s budget plan for 2018, this would be increased by 1.1% to a 30.1% tax rate."

Link source; https://www.iagr.org/industry-news/netherlands-bring-temporary-gambling-tax-increase

This is not a friendly country to a casino, Imagine, 29% tax on gross gaming revenues, I think that's too much and it might be a way to discourage operators from operating a casino or a gambling site, for me, I think it's better if they find another location to operate so they can maximize their income, besides, the trend now is alreay online gambling, so anywhere we are located, we can still access the site.
LOL!

29%-30% tax rate? It is just too overkill for a business and even we do say that they are really that making such profit but having 30% deduction on overall gross income would surely hurt.
No business operators would really last that long if they would really be retaining such deduction or tax.I agree on the suggestion that it would be better if they would really be finding another
location which does have much lesser tax for them to cherish out rather than staying into a country which do impose unjustifiable tax rate.

But the government has already created a law on that particular increase and I don't think they'll implement it if it will kill the gambling industry. Maybe they know something, casino is a very profitable business as people just keep losing their money just to get entertainment.

If it's unresonable, then no casino would survive and we consider the tax to kill the industry, but the question now, is it happening?
1808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin vs binance Coin on: August 13, 2021, 12:01:12 PM
There are currently many coins in cryptocurrency, including light coins and binance coins. But now Binance Coin is take very good position than litecoin. Can you think litecoin  also overtake binance.
Binance coins are far ahead of Litecoin so it would be foolish to compare these two. I think Litecoin can never be better than binance coin anymore. Because Binance Coin is constantly coming up with innovation features But litecoin can't do that
That's the reality that some people does not see, Litecoin is an old coin, been here already in the early stage of crypto but look at the performance compared to Binance, you can see the difference and though bought are successful, it's easy to tell that Binance or its BNB coin is more successful.

litecoin is here since 2013- https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/litecoin/
Binance in 2017- https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/binance-coin/

1810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Want Tesla To Accept Doge? on: August 12, 2021, 09:33:28 PM
I would like to see huge projects like Tesla, Amazon, Aliexpress etc accepting bitcoin at least. Ethereum also maybe and USDT. That would be enough for me Smiley
Sure they will in the future, there's no reason for them not to accept these major coins if there's no regulatory conflict, but the question here, will DOGE be accepted as well? I think it's what everyone wants to know and my stance here is they are not, maybe Tesla because Elon has been supporting DOGE a lot.
1811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Dogecoin overpriced? on: August 12, 2021, 09:14:08 PM
Dogecoin has nowhere to go but down, the bear market is very strong, the price is going and soon bitcoin will struggle holding $30k.
As of this time, DOGE is only 0.189 USD, it's still high, for sure it will dump more.

Exactly. Dogecoin has nowhere to go, since it's nothing more than pure hype. There's no active development or innovation whatsoever. The "meme" cryptocurrency is overpriced just because there are a lot of coins in circulation. Only a fool would buy DOGE at these prices. As I've said many times before, there are far better cryptocurrencies out there on the market with greater transaction capacity and cost-efficiency than Dogecoin itself. If you want to preserve your investment for the long term, it's best to invest into another cryptocurrency that's much scarcer than DOGE. I can't seem to find anything good about Dogecoin except that it's wildly-volatile nature makes it a great choice for short-term profits. Time will tell us how far Dogecoin will go as the competition becomes fierce in the crypto/Blockchain space. Just my opinion Smiley

What investors of this coin are probably looking are on the price history, and since it's very bullish, they had ridden in. They are outsmarted by Elon, they didn't know the fundamentals of the coin so their basis of the future potential is only based on how Elon has accepted it. I don't know why until now it's not dumping yet, maybe there's really a lot of bag holders on this coin waiting for it to reach $1.
1812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: August 12, 2021, 08:33:07 PM
However, the coefficient on Ugas is very attractive, if you think objectively, he could have won one fight out of three against Pacquiao, which means that the bet on Ugas is profitable. Maybe I'll make a bet, at the moment I want even more analytics  Smiley

Not against your view but as a member of the PH community here, we know and understand the gap between Pacquiao and Ugas. Pacquiao is already in preparation for Spence for several weeks now while Ugas got surprised and I doubt he can maximize his training for about over a week now against Pacquiao.

But it's up to you if you still want to bet on Ugas. Profitable of course because of the odds but risky to take that and even it will rose to 4  or 5, I will pass.

That is, do you think that Ugas is so much weaker than Pacquiao that he will not be able to win one of 5 fights against him (if it were possible to conduct 5 such fights in identical conditions)? It turns out that if you're right, then the 1.26 odds on Pacquiao's victory are super beneficial and you can make an all-in for this outcome?

Suddenly people stop talking about the age of Pacquiao that he is old and he might get injured seriously. But anyway, Yordenis Ugás is not as young as Errol Spence, he is already 35 years but at that age he might still be in his prime. Lots of possibilities in this fight, but all I can see now is that people are thinking it's just an easy fight for Manny Pacquiao.
1813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 12, 2021, 08:17:59 PM
Haslem signed another one-year contract with Miami Heat, and it will be his 19th season in NBA. It's worth noting that Udonis could have retired a couple of years ago because he has played only five times in the last two seasons. However, his dedication to the team is surprising, considering that he still wants to be part of the Heat.
Doesn't this signify the lack of Center for the Heat? If that's not the case and this is just their way of giving back to a player then I have nothing against it. Respect to Udonis but I'm pretty sure anyone who won't play a lot of minutes and still get paid with minimum would still like that. It doesn't take that much dedication.
I think his Loyalty made the management give him a chance to still play with the team.
Heat is a good defensive team and they have good Centers as well.

Here is the list of the Centers according to https://tv5.espn.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/mia/miami-heat

-Bam Adebayo
-Dewayne Dedmon
-Omer Yurtseven
1814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum @4k on: August 11, 2021, 09:38:17 PM
I think from the present price of ethereum, it is easier to break previous ATH of 4k than BTC breaking the 65k. The manipulation is real but ethereum should rise from where it is now it will break the previous ATH and make new ones, All eyes seem to be on BTC. Some are scared of the massive profit this year, there may never be anything like this again.

I agree with that, based on the trends, when altcoins are pumping together with bitcoin, mostly altcoins are more profitable to invest in than on bitcoin. So Ether after getting dump below $2k is now having a good run and it could possibly end up with $4k as soon as bitcoin reaches $50k as well. It's not easy to predict in a bullish market, just make a bullish prediction and it will work.
1815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are the bulls back? on: August 11, 2021, 12:12:45 PM
I am so confident right now that the market is pumping up. The price of bitcoin and most of altcoins is increasing. For example is ethereum, the price is significantly increasing from $1,8K to $3,1K almost double in price. Hopefully this is not gonna stop and will continue to reach the new ATH.

Be optimistic but always be smart all the time. This is the time where FOMO is happening, and because of that, we might see another bull run again but as always, the price will always correct and we will witness a heavy dump. I'm also enjoying the price movement now, anytime, the price could reach $50k and the bullish movement might continue.
1816  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 11, 2021, 11:41:23 AM
Dennis Schroder’s rejection of the Lakers 80 million dollar contract has to be one of the biggest blunders ever. I’m happy he did it, because it was obvious he wasn’t worth the 80 million dollars, but seeing him now try to negotiate a 5 million dollar contract which he may not even get to play on a worse team has to be humbling for him. He’ll lose 15 million dollars this year alone for gambling on himself. I guess if you’re going to bet on yourself you need a firm grasp on reality. My bet is that Schroder never again has the opportunity to make 80 million dollars.
I saw yesterday that he doesn't want the $5.9 Million Dollar offer by the Celtics instead, he want $9.5 Million Dollar for one year Cheesy What a funny decision for him.
Now he is feeling it. The consequences of being greedy. From $20M per year to $5.9M for one year Cheesy. With this, there might be a possibility that the Celtics might not sign him especially if he can't redeem himself. I agree with what you said though that he will not make 80 Million Dollars again unless, he will show an all-star performance with the Celtics.

Just see his face in the picture Cheesy. It looks like he regretted his decision Cheesy. Just kidding.

Oh well, he doesn't want the Lakers deal and others said it's not about the money or ego, but look at where he landed and what contract he got. For sure his agent should be partly blame for it. But who knows, maybe he can still blossom in the Celtics organization and become a legit superstar.

Although history is not on his side, Kyrie and then Kemba Walker. And I agree that no team will offer him $80 million.

it's not a loss for Dennis Schröder, let us not judge him and let's believe that it's not the money that's why he didn't sign with the Lakers. Dennis Schröder has one year to prove that he is in the level of the superstar in the NBA, so if he will have a successful next season, who knows he will get at least $100 million contact with the Celtics and he will also be happy where he belongs now.
1817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shopping time guys. Fill your bags now. on: August 10, 2021, 09:48:27 PM
the market is moving and fortunately upwards and the time for all of us to come out of hibernation and start buying again and then reselling for profit as long as this bull phase of the market lasts
I started buying when bitcoin was in a correction, for me, when at the dip, that's the best time to buy, not the time when the price is pumping, unless you are too smart to sell it for the short term for a profit. I'm not sure if the price will continue to rise, but buying $45k per btc when it dipped $29k, I think it's a bad idea, but then, I'm not saying it's easy as some investors are still in doubt when they see the price is dumping hard, I think it takes a lot of time and experience to learn the sweet science of investing in crypto.
1818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the pandemic is still going on.. on: August 10, 2021, 09:26:57 PM
The end of this pandemic is that the government will decide the corona virus as an ordinary virus that can attack anyone like a fever and the flu. Like it or not, we must be able to accept covid as part of the risk we live in this world. This forces us to continue to apply a healthy lifestyle and a clean lifestyle in order to have a healthy and safe environment from disease.
Covid has also not really affected the movement of BTC lately.

Corrupt governments is making a lot of money due to this pandemic, I hope big countries will be able to release the most effective vaccine for the covid-19 so it would really happen that it will only be considered as a normal flu. For now, the fear of getting infected is still high, and now with the presence of delta variant, a more dangerous virus, the world will continue to struggle.

It's just that when the beginning of the pandemic occurred, public panic increased, so that the condition of the world economy was naturally destroyed temporarily.

True, in fact ATH was achieved during the pandemic.
1819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: August 10, 2021, 09:13:59 PM
Very sad news 10 days before the event  Cry In my opinion, it was easy money (+ 44% when betting on Spence) and I was planning to place a bet, but now everything fails. Ugas is unlikely to be a full-fledged replacement for Spence in this fight, but let's look at the odds that the bookmakers will offer.

At least we will still see the fight though not that exciting anymore. It's not Spence's fault, he had a valid excuse and I'm sure Manny's camp will also verify that as they have prepared a long period of time for this fight. Ugas is a good replacement though, he is not undefeated but he had some good fights.

1820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: August 10, 2021, 01:14:00 PM
Anyone here already pull the trigger on Manny? hehehehe

I don't think it will get any higher than the current odds though, so I decided to put my bet on him and just wait for the actual fight. Goodluck to those early bettors though, ML is really very attractive, so it's better to bet early.

I have not pulled the trigger yet, but I think there's no more reason to wait for the better odds as most likely the odds will only drop as the fight is approaching. I will probably pull the trigger once I have the money I need to put on this bet as this does not happen all the time, I make sure I put a bigger bet.
Why will the odds get worse as the fight approaches? I think there is a equal chance that they go up or down the closer the fight approaches. It will be minor changes in the odds unless there is news about one of the fighters hurting themselves or rumors. I am confident on the decision for Manny I think he is past his best but still has enough to beat Spence.

Maybe worse means that Manny's odds will drop from 2.50 now to 2.10.. lol.. I don't know but it's possible since most bettors will just put their money a day before the fight, but if you are a bettor who trust Manny to win, you should not wait for that time as it's always fun to watch Manny fighting, whoever his opponent is.
