Hmm i saw sameon earning 8$ a day with 1x amd 7990 i through buy 3-4 of them will pay back .my country is poor we pay like 0.03$ a hour for electricity .

Again... you are a few years to late.  A few years ago you could ROI in 90 day's on GPU.... it was a amazing and great time.

Now your lucky to pay off GPU, I would be amazed if you pay off GPU and ROI. Making over electricity is not same thing as making a ROI.
1822  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GPU Mining Windows on: March 01, 2016, 03:04:10 AM
GPU mining only loses money, so please don't loan money from the bank only to lose even more money.

Very true sadly GPU/CPU mining is dead.... you might make more then electricity in very few cases.  But you WILL NOT ROI on that CPU/GPU.

The loan part... hurt  me to read that someone even things about that.  Do not invest more then you can lose, do NOT take out a loan for mining.
1823  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: dose mining software work ? on: March 01, 2016, 03:01:57 AM
yea I figured he must be charging more then the expected intake or he would just run it for himself
I was looking at another one (buying) for $80
but it uses 350 wats of power
add up in a hurry
so im thinking this would be a good test not to see if I make a profit from him but to see what intake there is from his miner
then consider if it is worth buying one myself

What is your electricity price? This is a big thing you need to know, that I base a lot off of.  Also difficulty... hard to predict lately so know that going into it.

But tell us more about your setup your thinking and prices, we might be able to help tell if you have a chance of ROI.
1824  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: March 01, 2016, 02:51:46 AM
When I received my A6, I was surprised at how loud its fan was. I was expecting a quiet miner, not something that was almost as loud as an S5. I replaced the fan with a Sanyo Denki Ace fan and what a difference. I understand why people like philipma replaced their fans with the Sanyo. Do yourself a favor, if you have not replaced your fan, please get a Sanyo fan. I am a fan of Sanyo fan.

I never really had that big of issue with sound with mine.   I ran 1 in my room for testing at first.   But mine I would say was quieter then my S5.  My S5 I did not like in my room.

But fan changing... void's warranty.  So I would make sure your out of warranty before doing this.  And if you get BlockC they do a good job with stickers to show if it's been open or not.

you do not need to open the case to change the fan.

I would say it is impossible to tell you put in a sanyo denki ace fan for the stock version 2 fan.

But as always swapping it is at your own risk.

I cracked open the case on 1 avalon6  due to the blade I burnt up with over volt.  That no longer is under warranty.

I have the burnt one which is repaired it  was nov 24 out of warranty.
I also have a second one from nov 24  so dec jan feb. over 90 days that one is out of warranty.
I have 1 from markaz it was a nov model out of warranty.
I have 1 from 64demsions it was a nov model out of warranty.

I have the two from the group buys in jan and feb.

It might be impossible to tell... but I still am not going to tell them to void warranty and count on it not being able to tell.  That just is not me.  If you switch fan's you should consider warranty void if you still have them.  But your right more and more are becoming out of warranty due to time.

Yes they likely will not know... but I'm not suggesting doing it and counting on them not being able to tell.  But if out of warranty or don't care about warranty, sure go for it.

It could easily be 10 of those containers that got burn-in testing, that would explain the hash in a pretty simple and clean manner.  But the weird conspiracy theories are more fun to day dream about...  Tongue

It is crazy to think that the bitcoin network has the hashrate equivalent ~100 of those containers.

except they don't exist.  not in 10ph size.

1 mega watt of power is used.  that is about 4 million btus of heat per container.

a container is 40 by 10 feet  I know it has liquid cooling for the chips.

but the heat even when pulled from the chips needs to be moved out of the container.  it needs jet engine fans to move the heat.  these fans do exist. but I think they just do not build them out to 10 ph.

I don't see them producing a single one.  Was a publicity thing just like the light bulb.  If a big buyer wanted one.... they would make it.

But big buyers want a normal data center I think.  And a lot already have that so just want new miner to put in.   So ... pr move not production in my eyes.

what about this  http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Antminer-S7-12-HOUR-BITCOIN-MINING-CONTRACT-4730-Gh-s-10-SHA-256-4-73-Th-s-/371558243197?hash=item568298db7d:g:GFcAAOSwx-9WuHpi
guy seems to be renting them for $1 an hour

is that a good investment ?
I got to wonder if it gives the lease a consistent return then why dose he rent them
why not just use it himself

I would not, contracts.... he makes more then he would just running.   So your overpaying.

Just buy straight coins if you want to purchase.   If you want to mine look at getting a miner.

It seem I wiil make a manual payments for this weeks as Marco said.

What about last week?  It did not pay for it. The week of 2-17 though 2-24 there was no payments.

This week 2-24 though 3-2 on this week is second week your talking about.   We still need manual for already passed week.
1828  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Mining Farm on: February 29, 2016, 09:40:57 PM
This is my first topic on this forum , and I am seriously thinking to start a small Bitcoin mining farm , and I have around 30k USD to invest in this venture . Would you consider this investment a good one , considering the current developments in the bitcoin industry as well as the fact that the local power rate in my area is around 0.22 USD/KWh .

I am interested in either the Antminer S7 or the Uranus Miner 6.0 TH/s .

Any tips on how to buy the equipment at a lower price , or cheaper setup alternatives , if any .

Thanks for your support .

at 22 cents you can't make money.

I struggle at 9.7 cents winter prices for power

In the late spring power goes to 18 cents and I simply do not mine in my house from May 1 to Oct 1

Find cheaper power.

My electricity price is $0.24/kWh. I mine just to generate some heat to make my room warm. I will stop in the summer.

What miner are you using to do this?  Man... at .24 cents I'm not sure I would use a bitcoin miner as heat.

That is a pretty extreme electricity to attempt to mine with even during winter.
1829  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: February 29, 2016, 09:11:36 PM
Yes. I trust marcotheminer. Anyway, I believe that it should be time for BitAdsense to use $_GET instead of $_POST. This way we could archive the stats. Also we can check our stats easier by just clicking on a button - probably we might favorite/bookmark the specific page.

I have stored my UID where every-time I go to site it's automatically entered on it.  There is nothing secret about my UID so I'm not worried about having it stored.
1830  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer's Power Outage / Payment on: February 29, 2016, 09:08:35 PM
Hi I recently acquired another S3 and having power issues. I'm having a difficult time maintaining the appropriate power consumption levels to allow all miners to run without turning one or more off during certain times of the day - when appliances in my household are utilized at peak hours. To avoid tripping the breaker - I usually shut one or two off and fire them back up and I don't like doing that because it is probably not good for the machines. I don't know any settings in the Antminer to configure a time schedule.

But the main point is - when the power goes out - I lose payment for that day from my mining pool site (not sure if all mining pools are like this) will not pay out if my machines go offline (before the block finished) their reply was :

"You will not get a payment in case your machine was down before the block finished. "

So how do I get paid off this mining pool site if I need to turn them off from 6-9. For example. Leave one running ?
Do all miners work together, or on individual blocks ? I guess that's the question I'm trying to get at.

thanks,
vp00009

Switch pools and if your tripping a breaker that is not good.  You can do automation on S3's.... but if breaker is tripped it does no good.  They do a good job of coming back up on their own.

But I would go for the source of the problem and find a way to use different breakers or some way not to trip a breaker.   It does not matter how much automation you have on machine if breakers flip off.

How many S3's? And what are they sharing that breaker with?
1831  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: s7 antminer sound proof on: February 29, 2016, 09:02:49 PM
hi s7 very noisy....can i know how can i do the sound proof for the s7 ?
and s7 hv sound like *wong* wong* like this..

guide me pls... thx

You can reduce the noise, but not really sound proof it. If you're in a cool environment, you can set the fan speed to 30%-40%. And if the noise is uneven, something might be wrong with the fan.

If you want it to be silent, you're going to have it hosted somewhere else.

However you could further reduce the noise by putting it in a acoustic panel box or isolated vinyl tube.

You are correct to make it sound proof I don't see being possible as air needs to move through miner.  There are mods on this forum (be careful as some might void warranty such as changing fans).

But S7 is not a quiet miner.   I personally would go more for the A6 if noise is a issue.   Your just wanting quiet from a miner that was not designed to be quiet.  So that is where modding comes in.
1832  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking for proper site to buy and then store bitcoin on: February 29, 2016, 08:58:28 PM
I use localbitcoin plenty, works very well. And ofcoarse a cold wallet Smiley

LBC you are going to pay a higher rate then say coinbase.  Yes some love it due to them not having to turn in anything proving who they are/or link to bank account.   But overall coinbase is much cheaper.  I use coinbase I have nothing to hide as far as my bitcoins go.

But if you really wanting more anonymous... yes you can pay higher prices on LBC.  I figure if you ever want to use it for goods or services... good chance linked to you.  So not really that perfect unless you plan on not using the BTC.
1833  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Best online Bitcoin wallet ? on: February 29, 2016, 08:55:07 PM
Hello,
I am looking for a good online Bitcoin wallet.
I want a wallet that respect my privacy (no log, no asking for ID card, no asking for my first name, etc...).
Low fee.
Do you have any idea ?
i think some online wallet not asking your ID card, and you can give random name to that wallet, its why bitcoin called anonymous, online wallet like coinbase and blockchain not ask your ID card, just phone verified.

Coinbase follows know your customer.... so they know who you are.   And they track it's not going to LBC for example and being sold.   They do this to not be considered money launders.  They are a exchange.

Blockchain is very different it does not require the info coinbase does.

Agreed, not condemning Coinbase but if it’s anonymity you want it’s probably not your best option.

“We will continue to comply with financial services laws and our customers should expect as much. You will not be anonymous if you decide to use Coinbase.”

Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase

And they have to do it to stay legal and stay from not being considered money launders.  They are much more then a wallet with being a exchange.

blockchain.info sells no BTC to customers so far less laws.   Each are good for what they are, but just are different things almost completely.

im use electrum wallet Smiley
now you can instal on your android too
link : https://electrum.org/#android OR https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.electrum.electrum

As a online wallet I would suggest blockchain.info and coinbase wallet. Best us security as well as smooth in transaction better small bitcoins users can switch with that itself.
If you wanna go with bigger transfers then only we offline and desktop wallets.

Again though to get the better security use second factor.  Second factor I see is the key of having great security on a hot wallet.

Also blockchain and coinbase are VERY different wallets.  One you control 100 percent.  Other is stuck trusting them, but does carry a insurance policy.

Most stuff is plug and play now which is nice. I do have fun too messing with the little stuff but yeah it is hard to get excited about a few g/h now.
Drones are something I want to do just have not taken the plunge yet.

Same here on the little stuff. I get so sidetracked after I get going.
Phil always knocks it out of the park though and that rules.

It must be nice to have space to do all of these cool projects. Colour me jelly.

Space is a nice thing to have.  I have a few project areas.... that all have projects waiting on me.  That is my issue with space is I tend to find projects.... and have a few going at once.

Eventually I will get around to all of them someday.

Yea mine keeps expanding more and more.  Recently I have gotten decently into drones..... have been spending a lot of hours there.  But it's been a fun project.

I am lucky that my mining area stays pretty well.  At this point no babysitting it's pretty well fined tuned.   Only ones that require messing with is lotto mining.  I still need to take a picture.  I got rid of my U3's and some compacs.  But kept a few for fun lotto mining.  I just have a hard time remaining excited on small hashing amounts.

It's something fun to do.   I enjoy it as my mining is becoming less and less hands on.   Once I got my mining area fine tuned, there is not much for me to do.  And with cool weather still... very easy mining.

Some day I might start a thread about it.  Took me a while to finally drop enough for my DJI.
1838  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 21 cents per kw, Any way to mine? on: February 29, 2016, 04:41:33 PM
The only profitable coin to mine at present is the Ethereum. But it is with GPU not any ASIC. If the price drops, it will not be profitable.

it dropped already i assume it's not proftibale anymore, since even without the drop the diff started to increase fast now with the drop it's done

The price of Ethereum is still high, around $5-6. So it is still profitable. If it drops to $3, it will not be profitable.

That is great... but long term GPU mining is still not alive with electricity price, and GPU prices.  Will you ROI on your GPU's?

Unless there is a chance of ROI I don't consider it profitable mining.  Just mining more then electricity.... is not enough for me.

China is building the largest waste-to-energy plant in the world - It will turn a third of Shenzhen's trash into energy every single day.  http://www.sciencealert.com/china-is-building-the-largest-waste-to-energy-plant-in-the-world

I speculate China is only going to be getting better and better in future if they do things like this.  Largest trash to energy... talk about a cool idea.
1840  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Is faucet profitable ? on: February 28, 2016, 10:13:08 PM
A lot of bitcoin faucet has lower the rates too much since the rise of price in bitcoins Sad

And they are only going to get smaller and smaller in payments... that is sad but all history of faucets has followed this.   I for the life of me can't figure out why people have continued usage of faucets.

I understand someone new ... want's a little no payments.  But the time per payment I don't see why it has a big of following as it does.
