I've tryed to buy an alias before it started. For some reason it only works through https://localhost:7875/alias.html

If I use an address line, I get error: {"errorCode":6,"errorDescription":"Not enough funds"}

Ur passphrase contains symbols that must be url-encoded. (like # or &)

hmm so what does it mean ?

If you put your password in the address bar of your browser it cant read in properly.

it will work in the https://localhost:7875/alias.html

What is the secret phrase here?  Does it create a new account that is bound to the alias?

I think the unclaimed NXT should be destroyed.  It would do a lot for the price.
1823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 20, 2013, 08:39:11 AM
Why is coinmarketcap showing 999,997,987 NXT instead of 1B NXT?

Someone sent 2013 Nxt back to the genesis account, thus destroying them.

Cool idea, but doesn't anyone have the keys to the genesis account?  Or, does the software reject transactions coming from that account?

What about all the unclaimed NXT?  Is that being destroyed also?

... planning to get rid of the interface completely.
- very sad.

The browser (https) access and the absence of stand-alone client is the most distinguishing (and attractive) feature of Nxt.

The browser access successfully works on smartphones right now.

Hope BCNext will change his mind regarding browser client.

I don't like the java interface at all and would prefer a stable, fast, clean native interface.

me too.
i want a client which is lean, small, fast and cross os, running
without installation from my usb-stick on windows, linux or mac,
able to connect to my private local node, my public net node and
even to other secured nodes later without any stored browser
history and security concerns like this, just by one click from
any place.

i want to manage my account, handle shares on the asset exchange
and use all the cool features nxt is providing soon without
leaving the client workspace, just like a central application hub.

i also want to see all quotes for other coins, best in near realtime
and trade them with advanced tools and technical analysis including
candlestick charts. auto-notifications on price-actions and bot-trading
with backtesting tools are also welcome.

i want a client which never needs updates, because this is built in
and it would also nice to add special plugins with a single click and
use them without restarting my os or even the client itself.
all this should fit into 1mb to send the client via mail to friends
without bothering them by complex multilayer installations and make
them start nxt easy.

well, we don't have it right now but we could have it soon. ;-)

(early prototype running on my win7 vm)

Looks like a trading platform to me, and looks great.

1. I purchase candy and link it to mysite.example.com
2. Jill wants to purchase candy from me
3. There is no transfer/sell option. 'candy' is always linked to the same acct number.

Is that correct? I'd love to option to be able to sell these. Also, with NXT amount so low, doesn't that just encourage someone with a crapload of coins to drop 10k on names?

Correct, u have NO option to sell these except by selling ur secret phrase.

Anyone can squat as many names as they wish. NRS picks high-fee transactions in the 1st place.

4. Is the NO sell option a technical hurdle or a design decision? I understand the ability to sell the passphrase, however, there would be nothing stopping the seller from jumping back in at anytime and redirecting the alias to another site.

Am I understanding correctly that the password is bound to the name and that if you know the password, then you own the name?

If so, then this is a major security flaw, as there is truly no way to transfer ownership of a name from one user to another user (since they both must know the password).

Please tell me I'm misunderstanding it.

Hi Guys! What do you think about the recent panic on the whole crypto-market? How will this effect NxT?
What would be a good strategy? Sell everything off even with a loss of 50% (compared to the initial invistment I made) or hold and hope it goes back up?

Hold and sell later for 10X profit.  Look at this historic charts!

Don't bother. China is dead Bitcoin wise.

No.  China is not dead Bitcoin wise.  It is still legal for Chinese to buy, sell and transact in bitcoin.  All China said was that their BTC exchanges must submit to regulation.

Do genesis block owners still hold +50% of the total market cap?

The original 73 accounts from the genesis block transactions have a total balance of 286009248 nxt.

I thought there were 1,000,000,000 NXT in total.  Are you saying there are only 286,009,248 NXT in existance?

1832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 14, 2013, 02:28:08 PM
when is Nxt going to be on exchanges like cryptsy or bter or stuff like that? or is there anybody working on the issue?
cos i have heard that dgex is barely functional and also, being in those bigger exchanges will clearly boost Nxt popularity.

Better questions is, when is Nxt itself going to be the exchange.  That is, when is colored coins going to hit the scene!?  We've been told in early Jan.  Is that still on target?

Why is it so hard to get a stable client?
1834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 12, 2013, 11:04:43 AM

thanks for you pre-trust and you are right, i am also against vaporware.
i will make an announcement tomorrow, when i have seen the api.
it's up to the community then, to decide if nxt want and need this client.

I, for one, think the community seriously needs a stable, reliable, native (non java) client that is easy to install and operate.

I'm glad your working on it.
1835  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 12, 2013, 10:54:05 AM

I don't think forcing the markets by threatening to quit is a sensible strategy.

xibeijan, as an attentive forum member you should recognize that all dev's are at 110%.
leading them into an emotional path for pressurized statements by provocating is not wise nor fair.

especially while sitting in a warmed up chair... Grin

I think you will find that the "emotional path" leeds back to BCNxt threatening to abandon NXT unless the markets behave as he desires.  This was not a smart move.

I see your point, but please try to see it from the perspective of those who have invested hard earned cash into NXT.

Statements like that are unacceptable.

Anyway, if you can deliver the dencetralized colored coins exchange, then all of this will be irrelevant.

It seems you're back on track.  Keep up the good work!

Just don't expect the markets to behave as you'd imagine they should... because they won't. Smiley

soon we will have one of the most innovative client
for nxt*

I hope so, but what we really want is for NXT to be the most innovative with its decentralised exchange, not just another client.

Will this new client be a decentralised exchange or just a website?

supports full decentralised exchange, software*, small, fast, portable, easy gui.

*compiled, no java, no website

That's more like it.  And, based on the job you've done with the block chain explorer, I'm confident you can do it, but we will see.

Now you're contradicting yourself.

Now time for bad news.

He can't force them to do all these things but he can quit this project and join other cryptocoin, no matter if it's called ClonedNxt, and contribute his ideas and code to a competitor of Nxt...
[...]

No contradiction. "Start a new" =/= "join another". What the game do u play, Mr. Xibeijan?

Don't agree with you there, but let the forums decide.

I hope you and Mr BCNxt straighten it out.

I don't think forcing the markets by threatening to quit is a sensible strategy.

Starting with BCNxt.

cannot deliver colored coins and looking for an exit.

Hehe, wanna bet for any amount up to 300 BTC on that?

So, do we just keep restarting NXT in order to collect everyones BTC over and over again?

No. BCNext won't start a new Nxt.

Now you're contradicting yourself.

Now time for bad news.
