1821  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: For Individuals looking to get into the Mining Game in 2014, please read this! on: January 16, 2014, 01:27:32 AM
Hi guys ^____^

Soo... is it still worth getting mining gear to mine WDC? Or is GPU scrypt mining about to be dead? Pleas respond
1822  Other / Off-topic / Re: Oculus Rift (CES 2014: Soft Kinetic Oculus Rift + Creative Depth Camera Demo) on: January 15, 2014, 09:51:32 PM
I've been extremely excited about this.. I cannot wait until the HD public version is released so I can get my hands on it. This is the closest thing we are getting to virtual reality, which has been my dream for the longest time!

I did not know they included hand motion capture too! Any idea when the public version will be released and whether they have plans to incorporate this with consoles? I don't have a gaming PC... but maybe I should build a LTC mining rig that I can just use as a gaming PC for the OR once GPU mining for scrypt coins becomes useless (in 2 months or less).

I want to use this device to play horror games and porn games

This thread is dedicated to bad news prophecies only?

Heck no, is $3k Bitcoin at the end of 2015 bad news? ....Well maybe for some people Smiley

Yeah.... $3k by end of 2015 is extremely disappointing compared to past performance. I would call this bad news

1825  Economy / Speculation / Re: 820 is the new 130 (Stamp) on: January 15, 2014, 08:31:36 PM
I got around 7 grand on my tax refund last year, put it all in BTC. I won't get one this year since I have retired..... at age 29.

Did you retire because of your 7 grand investment in BTC?

Pretty much. I have since gone back to college and plan to start a business after. Something that would earn BTC, so I wont be fully retired for long. But I will never work for anyone besides myself again.

that's what i want, fuck you

Quit day trading then Tongue.

Buy and hold, unless you think you can beat 1000% per year gains.

I've bought and held since Nov 2013.... hasn't done me enough good to retire yet

1827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Proudhon...can you please send me 1 BTC as you promised? on: January 15, 2014, 05:07:22 PM
and there is one other thing now we can trace your transaction back don't we?

You can trace transactions back, but you won't be able to discover much.  It was sent from my Coinbase account.

Now we know that you had a bitcoin!

I was just hodling on to it so that I could give it away when it was obvious they were worthless.

But it's not worthless... it's $800

I don't have time to watch the price all the time.  Sure, it's at ~$800 right now, but that's just an erratic blip on the way down.  I'm just getting out ahead of these things.

lol... why are u such a bear on bitcoin? what if it becomes $4k by the end of this year?
1828  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy a car now or invest and buy later? on: January 15, 2014, 04:53:42 PM

They want to somehow put the blame on their money laundering scams to bitcoin

1832  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where I placed my bets on short-term bitcoin price. on: January 15, 2014, 01:17:22 AM
A price rise of 2013 proportions seems ludicrous from this moment in time but I think the ongoing developments and news will be about as far from boring as possible.

I agree but I also think that's what made 2013 the year of bitcoin.... as opposed to 2014.
1833  Economy / Speculation / Re: Where I placed my bets on short-term bitcoin price. on: January 15, 2014, 01:02:32 AM
In truth, I think this is exactly the post-April situation now, only with 1000 instead of 150. No, we are not going to 400. we'll sit in 600-1000 range for a month or several, and then break through to the next moon.

This.

I had a strong feeling of this last month and even called it.... this sideways motion is boring as hell and I have a feeling this will last for months.
1834  Economy / Speculation / Re: 820 is the new 130 (Stamp) on: January 15, 2014, 12:58:22 AM
We have been in a CRASH since Nov (when BTC hit ~$1200) and been in a lame ass sideways motion since just like the April crash... we probably have another 3-4 months of this crap. Wake me up when we hit another ATH of $2500 or more
1835  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: For Individuals looking to get into the Mining Game in 2014, please read this! on: January 14, 2014, 08:41:49 PM
Dude, if you are feeling lucky go for it. Nobody can know what will happen, but people keep talking like they're able to tell you what the future holds. They don't. Do what you think it best, nothing else.

So no one knows if ASIC for scrypt mining is coming out soon? or if ASIC for scrypt will ruin mining for all other alts too? I'm only asking here because I don't know anything about mining
1836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Business Opportunities in btc on: January 14, 2014, 08:16:09 PM
Something to do with micro payments.

Ex-- any wireless service we have now, except for paying a monthly fee or $20 for 24 hours.. pay 1 or 2 cents every minute of use.. no need to register or fill out credit card info. Just have it automatically connect to the bitcoin protocol or ur wallet and have it automatically take BTC every minute/second you are using the service (it will just ask you to accept the price/conditions first). Is this possible?
1837  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: For Individuals looking to get into the Mining Game in 2014, please read this! on: January 14, 2014, 07:26:49 PM
OP, I did some research on mining and I was pretty much ready to jump into it but reading your post has discouraged me (which kinda sucks because I thought I finally had a bright future). Of course I wouldn't get into BTC mining but I thought ALT coin mining still had some juice left in it.

I was thinking of building a $2,000 rig, with 3 - R9 290, Radeon graphics cards, which would hash at about 2,500 khash/s. It would mine about .6 LTC per day at current difficulty. If I mined Worldcoin, I would have around 3,600 coins after 3 months. Each coin is now worth about 40 cents.... But if Worldcoin increases in value to $3.00 per coin I would make a good profit

Another reason I wanted to mine is because I wouldn't have to worry about electricity (I have permission to leave the rig running in my office building).

So please tell me if my logic is flawed. I don't quite understand how fast difficulty rises and how that will change the amount of returns I can expect to get. As far as I was aware GPU mining for Scrypt coins can still be profitable for the average joe....... but am I underestimating how early ASIC for scrypt mining will be available, or how the rising difficulty is about to push GPU miners out of the game?
1838  Bitcoin / Meetups / Any ATLANTA, GA meetups?? on: January 14, 2014, 07:04:16 PM
Anyone form ATL? I wish I was in a place where there were a lot of bitcoin meetups and enthusiasts around.  Sad
1839  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the chances BTC is replaced by something better soon? on: January 14, 2014, 06:41:31 PM
Good question OP... I really hope it doesn't happen because I'm heavily invested in BTC.

However one thing that worries me though is the fact that Satoshi didn't properly predict the mining process becoming an arms race where only the rich and powerful miners can participate. Correct me if I'm wrong but the whole mining process was supposed to be something that everyone could participate in making it a true P2P network. So now that mining has become out of reach for the average person, how does it (or will it) change the vision of bitcoin? Will this lead to future problems that were not envisioned before? Is this an indication that other problems can happen that have not been though of before due to new technology?

These are the main issues that worry me... not shit like China banning bitcoin, or USA trying to regulate bitcoin... all that is expected. Every government and federal banks (basically the real crooks) should see bitcoin as a threat and for good reason.

Rapecoin

Cheesy lol!!! i like this guy
