I do think a primary focus should be the decentralized exchange. Bitcoin users wanting privacy are stuck with current mixers or waiting for Darkwallet. Allow them the ability to do it easily through Dark and you beat them to the punch. Allowing a decentralized marketplace to exchange BTC into DRK and vice versa could bring in a nice new flow of BTC.
People keep posting this notion but could someone draw me a diagram please because I'm not seeing how it would practically work. Where are the magically 'clean' Bitcoins coming from? |

- if the provider (exit node owner) has no control over data send through his node and he is not snooping data in any way there is no responsibility for the data handled. This is exactly what Master Node Tor will look like.
Yes this is the law theory, yet still you have incidents like what happened in Australia where the cops essentially raided a guys home with a SWAT team because he was running a Tor exit relay. I'm struggling to find cases in the USA where people were arrested for operating Tor nodes. There must be at least one, maybe a test case? The US govt publicly funded TOR to the tune of $1.8 million last year, the Aussie guy was probably borking up their 100% exit node coverage, causing an annoying little red dot on someone's screen. edit: There's a bunch of ways Evan could implement new features, personally I would just put the hooks in the daemon and have anything else as a separate package. Utilizing the Masternode network - DarkTor
One of the future goals is to turn the masternode network into a decentralized business for masternode operators. To do this we’ll add features that improve the privacy of end users and compete with centralized businesses. Our first endeavor into this is to make a completely private tor network within Darkcoin.
The Darkcoin network will begin to offer anonymous internet access via the masternode network. As a user, all you’ll have to do is pay a fee for 24 hours of access. This fee will be paid to a masternode in much the same way the masternode fees are paid, using a deterministic algorithm for determining which masternode will get paid.
There’s a few benefits to running a private tor network through Darkcoin.
Sybil resistant - Due to the cost of obtaining masternodes, it will be very difficult for any one person to view all traffic.
Anonymous Payments - Users can pay anonymously for the service
Private Network - Our tor network will be internal to darkcoin only. All traffic will be paid traffic, so the cost of running the service should be profitable for the masternode operators.
Faster than tor - Tor has historically been very slow. This will be a lean version, that has much higher throughput.
As for the cost of the service we’re thinking $0.50 per day or something to that effect.
We’re still working on the details how this will function and this isn’t a feature that we’re absolutely set on. We’re very interested to get the community’s response to see if it’s viable . I think I just shit my pants. Why rely one one VPN provider when you can use a network of a thousand of them?  |

At these prices anyone with those concerns should secure at least one masternode for himself. Because I think I remember Evan (the main developer) mentioning that in the future you could select a preferred/trusted node that would always be one of the nodes through which the anonymization is carried out. So if you can't trust yourself, then dunno - don't use your computer to handle any of your financial activities I guess. Anyone have a full list of DS+ related daemon calls (if any exist yet) and launch switches? do the widgets contain the 'drk' references? e.g. could one change drk for 'xyz' and effectively create a private white label reward mechanism that is powered by DRK behind the scenes?
