SUCCESS!!! I feel so accomplished!
took me about 30 minutes.....really took my time trying not to mess anything up. A lot of screws indeed.....a lot of SMALL screws!
Anyway, it is happily hashing away at 700 MH/s, holding a nice 70 degrees at 60% fan speed.

Time for a mid-month update!
Things are going great through the fist 20 days of January. We have generated revenue of just over 250 BTC, and should be able to easily exceed 350 for the entire month.
Capacity continues to grow beyond my initial expectations, with our peak hashing speed now sitting at 16,900 MH/s!! I know believe with some more opportunistic tweaking and GPU upgrades we can reach the magical 20,000 MH/s, truly putting us in the elite of hashing operations.
Now for the catch.....to hit these ever increasing hash rates, we have in the last 30 days purchased 4x 7970's, 2x 5970's, and one full mining rig capable over of 1,000 MH/s+.
These are obviously major expenses, and will keep our profits down for the next several months. I will amortize the expense over the next 4-6 months, in order to maintain our dividend at current rates. The upshot is that with the price of BTC seeing the substantial rise it has over the last 6 weeks, it takes much less BTC to purchase these upgrades than before!

I've got about $6,000 at my disposal and I'm trying to decide if I want to buy 8 more 7970's or buy the bitcoins outright.
That is a no brainer. Buy 20 used 5970 and get 40 GPUs. Lolz. As if you can even sniff a 5970 for $300. Everyday on ebay. Strangely prices have gone up in the last month. Looks like it is more like $340-$360. You would think w/ 5970 supply > demand and prices would be falling. Every 5970 I have seen in the last 2 weeks is 350+ on Ebay. I know, I have been bidding. |

Just received the 6950 and it's exactly as advertised, great trade! Surprisingly, it runs about on par with my 5870 temp wise even though one of the fans half works at 73 degrees while mining without my huge house fan on it. Will be interested to see what the temps are like once i get a replacement fan! yochdog is a great trader, will definitely do business again if opportunity arises! I've got about 1.3 of the 2 coins that I owe you. Will let you know when I send them- should be soon  Sounds good.....Im glad it is working out for you.....I knew someone would find a good use for it and love it. It is a great card. |
