This is getting ridiculous.

Ordered 1/8 (they said 1/9)
1/22 was sent a non functional tracking number, they said this is what they received from the shipping company, asked me to resend my address.
1/24 no emails, no responses.  I'm worried they went on Chinese New Years.

After seeing all these QC issues, being lied to that it was in stock, getting junk tracking numbers, I don't have much trust in these guys.

Has anybody heard from them in a few days?

spoke to them today via email, very responsive once you open a paypal claim.

im just going to return it, with it not starting assume the controller board is fried, although i can see no evidence of any damage.

Let us know how the return goes. Are they covering the return shipping? If not, how much is it to mail it back to China?

they tried to make me cover it, but it will cost me too much as these things are too heavy. waiting on an update if their dhl account can arrange a collection.

Just curious, what PSUs were you using with it? If PP wants you to pay for shipping, it may be more profitable to sell off the modules on ebay or here on bitcointalk.

stupidly i was using their stock psu's Sad i switched out to some 750w corsairs after it stopped working but the short appears to have killed more than the psus and the network card.

strangely the controller board still flashes activity lights getting instructions from cgminer, including fans changing speed.

The 750w corsairs may not have enough amps. Check to see if they have more than 60 amps each. I had the same kind of problem you describe with cgminer and it was just the PSU. At first I went overkill and bought two 1000w 80plus gold PSUs with 83a each. Then I tried a 750w thermaltake with 62a that turns out to do just fine. They have a $10 rebate as well right now. I hope this helps. A 35lb return to China sounds quite daunting.

unless the thing has killed one of the new psus they are fine and rated at 62a and 63a each. both case fans spin up fine with these new ones which tells me they are ok, the dead ones dont get the case fans moving.

still same error at startup: ava0 reset failed! not an avalon? (0:08 00 00 00)

then it just cycles through:

result return rate low, resetting
reset sequence sent
ava0: idling 16 miners

every time it does this the case fans spin up hard so know the new psus are working.

i have 4 capacitors that have come completely off, but some chips should function without these?

1827  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: January 24, 2014, 12:55:54 PM
can anyone help with the error ava0 reset failed! not an avalon? (0:08 00 00 00)

this is a gen2 avalon connected by usb when the lan board died.

cgminer starts but then cycles through:

result return rate low, resetting
reset sequence sent
ava0: idling 24 miners
1828  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 24, 2014, 12:31:33 PM
ive managed to conenct it to usb and cgminer appears to recognise it, however it just cycles through the following:

result return rate low, resetting
reset sequence sent
ava0: idling 32 miners

im open to suggestions as for what to try next....

did you start cgmine with  --avalon-options 115200:24:10:D:1400:55

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Avalon

i get an error "invalid avalon options for frequency, must be 256 <= 1024" im confused which value is the frequency?

1400 is the frequency, and it is correct.  I'm guessing you're using a very old version of cgminer - check the version and make sure you're at least 3.4.3 or higher (I think that's correct).  The current version is 3.10.0.

using 3.9 so not sure why it says that.

i started it with 1024 but still nothing. on start i get the error ava0 reset failed! not an avalon c0:08 00 00 00

it starts saying 24 miners, fans spin up like its about to start but then just

result return rate low, resetting
reset sequence sent
ava0: idling 32 miners

So after hashing fine for a while my hashrate slowed a bit and the api shows this.
Code:
   [match_work_count1] => 4009
   [match_work_count2] => 3864
   [match_work_count3] => 0
   [match_work_count4] => 3953
   [match_work_count5] => 4079
   [match_work_count6] => 3772
   [match_work_count7] => 3937
   [match_work_count8] => 3801
   [match_work_count9] => 4013
   [match_work_count10] => 3882
   [match_work_count11] => 4063
   [match_work_count12] => 3896
   [match_work_count13] => 3784
   [match_work_count14] => 3875
   [match_work_count15] => 3977
   [match_work_count16] => 3886
After opening the rig this is what I found on one of the modules. I'm pretty sure the component is making contact with one of the power pins. I am no smd guy and I do not even know for sure if this is the module getting 0. Any suggestions?

i would try heating it up and removing it. have noticed plenty of bad solder jobs that make contact with other points they shouldnt be.

What command line to use in cgminer when I get it connected to a pc with usb?
1833  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 23, 2014, 10:28:48 PM
Was out of town this weekend when I noticed on BTCGuild that one of my units had dropped to 0.  I remoted into my desktop here and logged into see it would start to hash and instantly fail.  Temps were in the 90* area.  I was able to get home 24 hours later after I halted the TP-Link, which did nothing except not let it go out to hash.  I took the ENTIRE unit apart and this piece on the second module was sitting on the bottom of the case.

I can see how it was soldered but I have no clue if that is something I can even do.  It's that A 997 330 16V right next to Fuse 1.  Any help I would love you all.

Also to note there are 4 miners there, including this one, NONE of them had any temp. issues just this one.

Yep, that's the same capacitor that fell off one of my boards - for my unit, the ribbon cable connector was putting too much pressure on it and forced it off.  It's easy to resolder, but you have to be generous and make sure you get a really good connection.  Also, make sure the orientation is the same as the other comparable ones on the other modules.  My module came back to life with the capacitor in place but I never saw temps like that nor 0 hashing.  Note that I soldered mine with a bit more play so that the ribbon cable could go around it more easily.

Good luck!

any idea where i can find replacements for these capacitors? i have 2 with snapped legs and googling has brought up nothing.
1834  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 23, 2014, 09:43:46 PM
tonight the stock power supply blew, was not overclocked.

on replacing it i now notice at least 5 capacitors have come off the blades.

i replaced the psus and now i get fans power up however the network card is now dead. anyone know how to replace these? assume i can just connect the blades to usb and use cgminer directly?
1835  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [GROUP BUY WORLDWIDE]BTMine v1 Miner 200GH/s BTC 2.4 on: January 22, 2014, 04:02:45 PM
do I have to open some ports on my router ?

I'm now connected trhough wifi, and I can "apply change" without the forever wheel ^^

but cgminer status is still

hi there,

I reveived mine today, but I can't access to anything. I'm stuck since 12 hours that's ugly. Could it be a broken hardware ?

I have tried everything. I can't access the 192.168.0.174 they gave me.

My router's ip was 192.168.1.1, i changed it to 0.1, no results.

I tried to plug to my laptop, i saw the 2 devices ethernet and wifi card, but don't know what to do, i tried some of the stuff said in this thread without results.

I tried to plug it directly in the router, no success neither.

If anyone could help that'd be nice.

changing your network to 0.1 should work, see if you can see the device in the router logs.
