18261  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to make a profit selling BTC? on: April 03, 2015, 03:02:14 PM
Buy low - Sell high the common strategy for traders
So isn't it good strategy to keep checking btc price and once it goes very high, immediately sell it?  Then wait for price to drop, then buy it.  Then wait for price to up then sell it again vice versa?  Of course it can keep going down but im curious if lot of ppl do this and if so, is there a way where you dont have to pay a 1 percent fee each time buying and selling since that eats up a lot of your profit assuming you keep buy/sell a lot such as every few days?  What about those ppl that buy/sell a lot everyday etc that has lots of bitcoin etc?

this work only if the there are everytime big bubbles and then big crash, but this isn't the case, you see we are stuck there at 230-250...

many good traders rich in bitcoin can do good with shorting, so the fee for them isn't a problem

for example with the current price, who shorted at 250 and bought back at 230 would have gained 20, 1 % of fee is only 0.2....
18262  Other / Meta / Re: how long does it take to get to full member status? on: April 03, 2015, 02:53:44 PM
if you need it fast i would suggest to buy one, they don't cost too much, around 0.15 max i think

otherwise you need to wait a very long time
I don't see any use in buying them. It is hard to prove ownership if needed in the future. Bought account tend to be less trustworthy and the change of posting style would rise a red alarm immediately. 3-4 months is around the time one can get to know more about Bitcoin to post constructively enough.

i don't see a problem with that, just save the thread about the purchase, and what is the problem if they see a different writing style? selling account is allowed...

3-4 months for learning about bitcoin is a bit too much, i still remember that i learned almost everything about it in the first 2-3 days(not in deep aspects)
18263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: looks like i've been hacked - please help me understand what's happening on: April 03, 2015, 12:13:44 PM
what kind of wallet?

I think its called Bitcoin Core or bitcoin-qt? does that make any sense to you?

can you try to do a scan with malwarebyte anti malware, and hitmanpro?

see if there is something malevolous

also i suggest you to use zemana free anti-logger, it hide your key-stroke
18264  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where can i learn to use the market to make a profit on: April 03, 2015, 11:59:52 AM
signature campaign??? what is that? is that what i did with this forum to post and they add an ad to my sig??? is that really profitable by itself........

Yes it is the ad under it appears you have one.

Once you get to Sr member and above it is a nice thing to have.  You will in no way get rich off of it.  But can earn a little for something you would do anyways.  It is more profitable then faucets.

i see ts like 8000 satoshi a post for jr member and i just noticed right now im a member does that mean i get paid this week for a member?

you should join 777coin, they pay well for newbies, jr and member(12k satoshi right now 50% more than what you are earning now), then(when you reach full member) you can move on something else like dadice or bit-x
18265  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have $5,000 to buy equipment and almost free electricity. Where do I start? on: April 03, 2015, 11:55:50 AM
I want to get into mining but I don't know where to start. I believe I have all the right things to mine successfully. I have $5,000 to invest in mining equipments and almost free electricity. My rent for my apartment includes utilities so my electricity rate is constant every month. However, I don't know anything about mining so where should I start?

Almost free electricity ? Nothing more beautiful it if you own a mining equipment . s5 is great for you now.

it may seems so, but with some calcualtion you can easily tell that it's not worth it even with free electricity(he said almost, which is worst btw)

you need 4-5 months ROI with antminer S5(0.36 a month and they cost minimum 1.5 btc), not worth it

better to buy bitcoin instead or you can wait for antminer s6(it should come soon) which is about  1.5 times better, this mean less than 3 months roi
18266  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your reasons for not accepting paypal for btc exchange on: April 03, 2015, 11:04:56 AM

well not anymore, because in January I issued a chargeback with my blockchain address as the part of evidence, and my paypal account is still kicking...
and no, I didn't scam anyone. the guy I was trading with is stalling me with nonsense talk so I did it.

"PayPal doesn't like bitcoin, as the bitcoin network is in direct competition to it. They will ban accounts that have anything to do with Bitcoins, and freeze their balance." Reference: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Buying_Bitcoins_(the_newbie_version)

Did you use Ebay for the exchange? I still wouldn't take the risk of using bitcoins when they are banning accounts for its use. It's too risky.

that's not true at all, they will even start accepting bitcoin soon(there was a news in the forum about it), they are just waiting to implement more security option
18267  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitmain Antminer S6 and S7 Speculation on: April 03, 2015, 10:51:51 AM
Any ETA on S6? At least speculative?

I'm still thinking mid to late April.

Well, with the current BTC price, I m really not sure how profitable for them is to develop new miners. The profit margin s really, really low.

at least those new miner are better than s5

ratio is 2.37 for wattage ( 1400 vs 590) but hash power is 3.46 in ratio ( 4000 vs 1155), they are 1.45 times better if they would have the same wattage
18268  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 10% BTC difficulty growth???? on: April 03, 2015, 10:43:40 AM
I guess I was right, we are going down a bit. Under 7%.

Under 5% now. Let us see if we can go even lower.

i doubt, the price is rising now, +6 dollars, i think another little pump is incoming, diff should rise too
18269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [Amazing!] Is Bitcoin "Rad", "Sick", "Hella-good", or 'the Bomb'? on: April 03, 2015, 10:41:14 AM
i would add "stagnant", was sick two months ago now it's simply stuck there

hella good was at 600 mark and the bomb at 1200 peak
18270  Economy / Economics / Re: 2014 Poll: How many bitcoins do you own? on: April 03, 2015, 07:35:17 AM
Looks like we can ignore just about anyone stating they own more than 1 million bitcoins. Perhaps the remaining numbers are more accurate in that the liars may tend to enjoy the opportunity to exaggerate.
Agreed.
Most people own 0-10 coins

0-5 id say

still too much, many are just earning bitcoin with faucets , they don't reach one bitcoin

it was counted that bitcoin users are 2.5M+, and there are 14M coins, 30%(probably higher) are lost, other 30%(probably higher) in the hands of early adopters

we have rougtly 5M of free coins, so at best about two coin per user
18271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have a decent social network, see how you easily you can earn Gems/Bitcoin on: April 03, 2015, 07:33:20 AM
Even though this seems like a decent idea, I'd rather not. You do realize that once you install all of those apps on your phone you pretty much lose all of your privacy?
Did you ever read the permissions that Facebooks requests before installation? It's pretty much requesting to watch over you.
This however could be very useful for people who have millions of followers on Twitter and are into such a thing.

privacy is already fucked up nowadays buy facebook and company, the proble could be getting some virus if you download many app, especially those not signed

nonetheless i find it a great way to introduce new people to the bitcoin scene, they can't refuse free money after all
18272  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are they awake in China? Tool for determining timezones in a country on: April 03, 2015, 07:26:24 AM
really good would come in handy when the alt scene was still profitable, i was searching for something similar in that era

does it include the passage from summertime/daylight to normal time?

You folks who got goxxed might be interested in this....

It looks like this is part of a long chain of transactions, but this is particularly interesting...

Holy shit, that's a lot of btc.  I wonder where it's going/gone, and why?  Huh

just hope those won't be dumped, would cause a serious damage to the market

on the other hand it would spread those coins too

Errr.... just moved?

18274  Other / Meta / Re: DDoS on: April 03, 2015, 07:15:00 AM
at first i though that it was another hdd failure, i guess it's better that instead it is just a ddos attack

it possible to know if it's done by the same attacker?
18275  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Investing on: April 03, 2015, 07:05:16 AM
i tried to register but after that it tell you to deposit first, usual scam, when it is too good it's probably a scam i would say...

So after today's trial and major error. I'm looking at x11 mining dark coins. They seem to be rising in price and sounds like a good start. Have you had any experience with them?

they have a +28% now, someone is pumping it, they should be ok to mine, they provide a sort of anon transaction, which make them less shitty compared to other alt
