It is not ETH who got hacked, just the Parity wallet. They think that some wallets are locked. We still don't know which companies got their wallets locked.
Will Parity have to pay for the lost ETH or are they going bankrupt (or the companies who lost their funds)? Lots of people are against a fork of ETH which could save the wallets.
How can ETH grow in value with thoses kind of news?
Maybe it will be an opportunity to buy ETH at a very low price?

Latest update: Yet another all night coding session! Each time we've run through the updated code we've found less and less items that needed fixing, and we're down to just a handful to go.
Each time I think we'll get it live, we seem to have missed, but we are SUPER CLOSE! We've literally worked all day and all night and are tantalisingly close to getting this live.
I know I was hopefull to get it live Sunday night, and then I was sure that it would be live Monday night. Working out a firm delivery time for software is a very tricky process, especially when you've introduced thousands of new lines of code and have made major enhancements in a hurry. We started at the weekend with a TON of bugs and errors, and now we have it down to a trickle. We are going to get some sleep and be back on this by lunchtime. Please keep your fingers crossed for a launch later today - I've got past the point of promising it, but we are STRIVING as HARD AS WE CAN to deliver this, and I do truly, understand everyone's frustration. I'm so sorry for these delays, we are nearly there. This is quite re-assuring. I appreciate the team's dedication and commitment. Yeah sure, but the fact that the team did not solve all these issues before the launch does not really give me much confidence in the teams programming skills. thats right, but on the other hand. maybe this project is so hyped that some good hackers wanna have a piece from the cake :-) We will see, they should realease it at least today, otherwise the treast is fully gone i think... Last minutes coding can't be done in one night with so much modifications. I am happy that they are doing a lot of testing. I hope the code will be enough robust. It is better to have a robust application than a buggy one. Go go devteam! Take your time to deliver something good to not disappoint future users. |

Small typo there, we're talking about ET C here. Anyway, potentially good opportunity here. I guess of course it will really depend on what will be discussed during the summit. Will there be new changes, upgrades, improvements to ETC's blockchain protocol? Any good news of that sort in combination with the general low prices of altcoin because today should be a good sign to buy. Yes, sorry for the typpo error. Hello, my theory, which may also be false is that the ICO coins got stolen by a hacker.
And now, they permit people mining because they need their mining power to recreate the ICO coins.
But i think they won't say it officially and it is better also for us. As that would be catastrophic for them and also the investors.
As people would be afraid to put money on a company who is not safe.
But it may also not the case. I think it is better that nobody know that a company got hacked. It would destroy the project.
The company just want positive comments and no critics to protect the project i suppose.
Let them protect it as this is better also for the everyone.

I saw the last video interview on Facebook and it was great to see a demo of the smartphone app.
I don't know why they don't take the time to think about how many days it will take to finish their products?
Why don't they postpone everything? It is not like we need everything and fast now.
If they did detect a problem, they should think about how to resolve it and how many days it will take. And not just say to everyone that
it will be made the fastest possible way. Because they are putting more stress on themselves and also on people waiting for the products.
They are still coding and the release date was for the 1st November. They also will need to test the code. It is not an easy task and they may
add more errors by doing last minutes codes. The code should have been frozen before the 1st November.

They gave free money for the first miners. Some succed to get 0.5 BTC. Can you imagine mining a coin and getting 3500 USD in one night and that it can be immediately sold? It is impossible with other new mining coins. What pissed me off even more is that i was unable to use the miner, and there was no way to make it working.... There certainly was a way to make it work, you just weren't able to. But that is not the fault of ETN devs. It was a little the dev fault. As they did only gave instructions about mining with CPU. And some people already mined it if GPU on other mining pools. And i think not everyone mined everyday coins... Especially they knew that some investors don't know nothing about mining. And why did they open the Exchange before everything? That's another problem too. Other ICO don't put their coins in Exchanges so fast. |

I bought about 5800 ICO coins... would be up 5 times if i could sell them now.. oh well.. as long as i don't lose my 0.01 BTC investment i am happy.. ICO's don't make you rich.. unless ETH or LSK.. those days are gone.
Instead of complaining.. just wait or start cpu mining.. at least you will earn a few satoshis.
When you buy an ICO coin you take a huge risk especially if there is absolutely no reason to hold onto ICO coins. Besides who would want to at this price!

Those days are certainly not gone. Do your research first. Example: An $800 investment in BitConnect during it's launch in January of THIS YEAR (2017) would make you a millionaire today (as of last month actually). Millionaire in 10 months. There are several other ICOs that started this year that have had a similar growth in 2017. I am not talking 2016, 2015, or 2014 (Ethereum), just 2017. Guess what, it's still 2017. The market conditions have not changed that drastically. There is still plenty of opportunity, just perform due diligence and spend time on research and analysis before you invest. This ICO is not the same as BitConnect. There is no interest rate or lending coins. It is about the mining experience with any type of electronic devices. And i think BitConnect is just a ponzi scam. The last one inside BitConnect won't see his money... |

i tried the electroneum mining and it didnt work, or the settings i put in didnt work.
i did get a message saying i was mining and i left it for about 18 hours but i didnt earn anything just got a message stating i had received something like 1150 blocks

Hi, did you create a new wallet for mining? Because on the Electroneum website, i don't know what is the wallet number. The wallet is locked.
And don't solo mine. It is impossible to solo mine. Go join a mining pool. In the 'Mining Altcoins' forum you will see a lot of topics about mining Electroneum. If you are mining with CPU, choose a mining pool that has a minimum payment of 1 ETN. Because it is really difficult to mine now as there are GPUs mining all the coins now. And put the good port number. It is important too. On the pool mining, they have instructions about which port number is for which kind of hardware. If you can mine with a GPU, there are instructions there too.

What is any investors thoughts on the fact that Electroneum promised unlocked wallets on November 1st and they are still locked and they are saying that they have been hacked... ?

You can see lots of comments in the Electroneum thread in the 'Announcements altcoins' forum. Every investors are unhappy about how it started. As the big profits went to the first and big miners. The Electroneum team decide to let the miners mine and sell the coins at an Exchange. It is a really bad move from them i think. And a bad picture for next ICO. And now the price is dropping fast. The investors won't be able to dump their coins, except in loss. They will have to wait some more times. It is better to be a miner than to invest in an ICO if the coin can be mined. That's what i think. |

Same here. I leaved it as it is for now. When the new update will be available I will download it then. I think that will be when devs decide to unlock investors from selling their ETN. In my opinion this is a strategy so that ETN have some value, and miners will give some value to ETN. I expect this lock to stay like this at least 2-3 days, when it will harder for miners to get it. After that we will be able to sell our ETN as investors. And I will not be surprised if some of us will be so stupid that will ask a lower and lower price, until will be some panic and some very stupid investors will dump ETN. My expectation is that this coin will have value in 4-6 months if not even more. Right, don't follow others and calculate well your action when you are going to sell ETN. You need to get more profits compare to the value you sell it. ETN value is already only 868 satochis... So if you bought it higher, it may be good to not sell your ETN. The investors are going to be locked as they won't be able to dump except in loss...  Maybe after the fork of BTC and after BTC fall a little, we will be able to sell to get profits. Or maybe you want to keep it in hope that the value of ETN will increase compare to BTC. |
