Hello.
It’s my fault.
I am going to update the topic very soon.
Sorry for the delay.
Time is scarcer than bitcoin, and I had to prioritise a few things.
I will do asap.
1843  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: OT ma non Troppo: Sono diventato un SR Member! on: July 18, 2023, 11:22:36 PM
Ottimo davvero ottimo.

Forza!

Secondly what if you throw away your see because it was too week concealed amongst all those boxes?
Some people never throw anything away Wink That only works if you don't buy too much unnecessary stuff, otherwise you'll turn into a hoarder. I'd say a box in a garage is a good place, usually those places store decades worth of items that "may come in handy some day", so it doesn't stand out.

Yeah, of course if you are Marie Kondo, such a box would be a very bad place to hide something, while I know people never throw anything (I say anything) away because “it’s a memory of something good and I want to keep it”.

Again, security is extremely personal!
1845  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Securing Your Seed Phrase with Washers on: July 18, 2023, 01:24:29 PM
A few years ago he buried a copy of his backup, using 40 USD worth of material from the hardware store, to build a case to hold his seed phrase.

I think it's unwise to conceal seed -phrase-inscribed-washers  underground. After all, metal detectors are quite affordable. Folks purchase them and go on fun hunts as a pastime.

My own seed is safely stashed away in a box located in the garage, where it blends among numerous boxes, all full with abundance of washes.

Every setup has pro and cons.

Firstly, in the article is explained how to dig your seed deep enough not to be exploited by a metal detector (and also is explained that you should bury it somewhere not beaten by that class of lobbyist)

Secondly what if you throw away your see because it was too week concealed amongst all those boxes?

Just to say the security mix is peculiar for each of us.

[ I don't usually quote images, I don't really care for anime, and I'm not a member of the furry community ('cept for the MCC shindigs) but I'm 'bout to take a one-handed break from bitcointalk for a few minutes, if you know what I'm sayin'.

*whew*

The sarcasm is great with this one.
You have to consider those images are far from perfect, and the effort goes mainly toward the anatomical details. That might be not the most obvious ones.

Anyway, I know you know the other thread where I post such images, and rest assured my intent is to give you as many “ one-handed break from bitcointalk” as possible. Not that we don’t like having you here amongs us, just have a shower before getting back sending merits…
1847  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: [SOGNANDO] Vivere senza lavorare grazie alle cripto, dove andreste? on: July 16, 2023, 04:33:31 PM

1849  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: [SOGNANDO] Vivere senza lavorare grazie alle cripto, dove andreste? on: July 16, 2023, 03:53:42 PM

Sono quei posti, secondo me, dove va bene passarci qualche mese.

1850  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 16, 2023, 10:17:23 AM
uld one be uncomfortable to post in
It's waay better to use DeepL than Google Translate if it supports your language and the language you want to translate in.

Thanks, I am an old person and I am used to do the same thing again and again, but for sure I will give DeepL a chance.
I reckon GT has limits on “tier2” languages. While I think it is pretty good on the most common ones.

But of course, here I was referring to GT not as a specific service, but generally as “automated translation service”.

Jameson Lopp, who worked as inspiration for this guide, published an interesting blog post:

How to Bury a Bitcoin Seed Phrase Backup
Quote
Lessons learned from a multi-year experiment with burying a metal seed phrase bitcoin backup.

A few years ago he buried a copy of his backup, using 40 USD worth of material from the hardware store, to build a case to hold his seed phrase.

The project was extremely successful as he stated in this long post!
A lot of lessons were learned here!
1852  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 15, 2023, 11:20:52 AM
<...>
Therefore, if I go to the Italian board, and write new information, reply to a topic, or share something relevant, I am not translating content but creating content.

Am I really wrong with this reasoning?  Undecided
It is true that afterwards everything needs to be interpreted by each one. But, I think I'm not very wrong in this line of reasoning.

As for the specific Italian board, of course, I am not the moderator here, but I guess it is ok, provided that the translation is intelligible (but this is usually the case if translating from English) and, as you said, you are posting original content and not spamming ANN threads or so.

But again, it is really dependent on the relevant mod for other boards, and in my honest opinion, it is not a hill to die for. I think I found a decent compromise.
1853  Other / Meta / Re: Is it allowed to post in English in a Local Section on: July 15, 2023, 09:29:31 AM
I am not sure about this as I've used Google translate to post in other local boards and had no issues whatsoever, and I remember other members using Google translate to write posts in our local board and again there was no issues.
If no one reports it and there is no local moderator to notice it, nothing is going to happen and the post will stay. I just took a look at the rules of Bitcointalk and I was right. It's not allowed according to Rule #27. It's not a big deal, though.

27. Using automated translation tools to post translated content in Local boards is not allowed.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0

I have posted in many local boards, and apart from a few language I speak, I used GT to post in the local language.
Of course the content I was posting was original and answers to maybe my translated posts or something I wanted to address to that specific board. Of course we are not speaking about paid content or advertising of any kind.

I used GT because I started from the hypothesis that who was posting on those board wasn’t familiar with the English language and I know from experience how much a post in a different language can interrupt the good flow of the conversation.

All was good on many occasions until a moderator told me it is not acceptable to post automated translation on his board (sorry I cannot recall which board it was, maybe German?) and referred to a different rule (the one prohibition to post AT content for paid service, which he wanted to apply for similarity).

Even if I wasn’t sure about his interpretation, I decided to post in English and then provide a courtesy translation via Google Translate.
I think this is an acceptable compromise as I saw users quoting and replying both to the English or the translated part.

Regarding the above quoted rule, I never saw that one, but again, it’s an unofficial set of rules. Not that we need a jury to apply those…
1854  Economy / Services / Thank you, supreme leader! on: July 15, 2023, 07:06:28 AM
Even if there wasn’t any post, our supreme leader showed her magnanimity once again.

Thank you once again for your flawless slightly delayed timing!

1855  Other / Meta / Re: [TOP-200] The most generous users giving merits on: July 14, 2023, 05:20:08 PM
Something I didn't expect:

For sure he sent way more merits in June:

I was also surprised to see him at 54th position while he sends them at fast pace and as per
records also he has send 408 merits in past 30 days while at this time if we take 14 days into consideration he has send 42 merits so it makes 366 till 14 june only not counted before that.So surely he has send more merits but don't know how the charts are prepared.
42

I guess calendar months are considered.
So, according to his own Bitcointalk Merit Dashboard @ddmrddmr sent a total of 390 merits having received  39 merits. This should translate in a generosity index of 371.

mentre monete come shiba o doge li sposti spendendo veramente poco

o spende indirizzo numero 1

https://siminchen.github.io/bitcoinIDE/build/editor.html
