A well done clickable hover over even.  I see the point on disrupting others design, partial reasons for wanting to customize the skin.
1842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of sites where I can get stuff for bitcoins? on: July 02, 2011, 01:20:16 PM
I don't see it in Everest (=AIDA32). The model family is Edge.

http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download

Yeah, need specifics.  Should be listed in I think the motherboard summery or something on Everest, I forget how it would look in speccy, but that one is super simple and might just pop the info exactly
1843  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: List of sites where I can get stuff for bitcoins? on: July 02, 2011, 01:05:09 PM
Specific Thinkpad model please, I did not see it on the site.

Run speccy or Everest Home Free and post specs please.
1844  Other / Meta / Re: Images in signatures on: July 02, 2011, 01:01:44 PM
The only true answer is forced moderation of dimension size and file size of image.  No animated gifs that even near 1mb.  Nothing that would not be larger than your typical ad dim size of like 468 x 60 I think is the average small banner size, something around that.

Admins and mods might groan, but I assure everyone, this would probably be the easiest thing to enforce on a forum, as everyone will be rather quick to point out that someone else has a signature that is too big.
1845  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does it bother you Bitcoins is used to finance drugs, child porn and terrorism? on: July 02, 2011, 12:58:23 PM

The following threads were started by the OP:

Quote
For next few months Bitcoins' price will not rise, it will slowly decrease.
What will be the first Bitcoins-related company to go bankrupt?
When do you think the first ever murder related to Bitcoins will happen?
What would it take for you to buy a plane ticket and go to Tokyo?
A question to all speculators - What if Bitcoins' price just flatline?
If one day Mt Gox just off site and took all your money/BTC, what would you do?
They should rename Bitcoins to Hoardcoins because no one is spending.
Who else became paranoid after discovering Bitcoins and had nervous breakdown?

And then, this one: Does it bother you Bitcoins is used to finance drugs, child porn and terrorism?

Chill out.

Oh god, a mod needs to force this post into the OP's signature.  Let them continue to run wild across all the forums, but that must but in their signature forever.  Like those people that steal from a store and have to hold a sign out front of the store saying they stole from them.
1846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin too valuable to spend on: July 02, 2011, 12:56:12 PM
after the thrill of buying something with a gold-based currency wears off, people rarely use it. Instead they tend to hoard it, keeping it as a store of wealth.
I think this could be said with almost any form of currency that isn't paper or plastic, people will hoard it.

Hell, people hold onto change more than they do their bills, I believe it is subconsciously because it is 'heavier' thus has more value.   Or not, whatever, but I believe my joke argument as much as the gold hoarding one, and both theories kind of compliment each other.
1847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Ads - Spot 1 on: July 02, 2011, 12:37:37 PM
Warning: Brain fart ahead. But if Bitcoin had its own unique music theme to draw the viewer/listener in...

Well, go ahead and create it, you know you want to, The Official Bitcoin Jingle thread lol
1848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Report Volume 19 (Don The Troll) on: July 02, 2011, 12:23:55 PM
The way you take on the haters sometimes amuses the hell out of me.  Though I won't agree with the methods, not that they are bad, I just am not usually keen on YouTube reply videos, you do good work.
1849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wall Street Journal Frontpage Ad - 5000 Bitcoins on: July 02, 2011, 12:18:31 PM
Probably one of my favorite mass media ideas I have seen so far is this thread now.

However, it is too early, security needs to be figured out quicker like now.

But damn, this is the way to do something people.   We all know the coin itself is good, something that big is what throws it in everyones face basically saying "You may not have known what Bitcoin was before this huge ass ad, but now the news will be talking about this ad itself the next morning, so time to learn what Bitcoin is so you can have an opinion about at the water cooler during work in the morning"

This is about as awesome as getting the tv ad going.

One thing at a time Atlas, slow your ideas down to realistic goals lol
1850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does it bother you Bitcoins is used to finance drugs, child porn and terrorism? on: July 02, 2011, 11:58:24 AM
NO CP

Everything else is reasons why people should get behind Bitcoin, personal freedoms Smiley
1851  Other / Meta / Re: Requirement - A Wallet Address in Every Signature on: July 02, 2011, 11:57:17 AM
Yeah, I don't have problems with it myself Smiley But I just mean that you're kind of contradicting your own point with not asking for donations.
Aw, as I said, I like that uniformity, so if everyone else is doing it, it goes against taking donations what so ever for your work, to not use systems already in place.  I don't have to agree with them or like them to use them Wink
1852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spruce Codes on: July 02, 2011, 11:50:09 AM
God I hate when it is too early to grasp everything in the more detailed threads.  I am of course for this in theory, going to have to wake up more and re-read the post, but best of luck with this in concept so far lol
1853  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Announce] getblockchain.com on: July 02, 2011, 11:45:22 AM
Honestly very cool little idea.
1854  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin symbol adjustment proposal on: July 02, 2011, 11:34:02 AM
Well done pdf, I wish this was out during the creating of the B, but it is already there, I think hard to change at this point as you pointed out.  Even with the changes so minimal and making it better to use, it's just too late.
1855  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BitForums ~ The new Bitcoin Discussion Forum on: July 02, 2011, 11:30:21 AM
Damn man, I was about to register until I seen this bullshit http://bitforums.net/showthread.php?tid=50

For every User you refer to this forum that is active (10+ posts), you will be getting 25 cents.

If you are big on another forum that is pretty active you can post a thread with following:

BitForums ~ The new Bitcoin Discussion Forum

With then following content:
http://bitforums.net/showthread.php?tid=49 (Click quote to get the mybb codes)

For every 10 replies, you get 25 cents.

I am insulted on so many levels, that each guaranteed successful user, meaning they not only have to join, but have 10 replies up, is only a value of 25 cents?

It is insulting to put the value of that at so low, and on the flipside asking your users to do that for such a cheap cost (which in reality, if people like your forums, do they not show it love by spreading the word naturally).

I hope changes are made in the site, not sure how "administrated by an admin of the biggest myBB forum on the internet" is a selling point for a place that has no users yet, you should save announcing that for after the first month or so, don't restrict or scare users initially (honestly, just trying to help, ask that admin, he has been on the biggest myBB forums on the net, she should know lol).
1856  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoinPlus a scam? on: July 02, 2011, 11:20:31 AM
man this rant is way more popular than mine! hehe BitCoinBarter , nobody wants to listen to reason here!
I noticed someone in the other thread mentioned this, but that word "Scam" does get abused here a lot, and without even the site here to defend itself, even with the competition of Bitp.it coming in, saying that the technology isn't all there and it is inefficient,  and I think EVERYONE agrees that BitcoinPlus could use a site redesign and update or two with a F.A.Q. or so.

For now two different threads, multiple attacks on BitcoinPlus, 0 defense from them, we are only seeing one side of this argument, and yet "nobody wants to listen to reason" ?   I think "nobody wants to admit that this isn't the best site, but scam is not the word for it", except in this case, nobody is most everybody.
1857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LIKE a Facebook Page to Indicate to all your Friends that You Sell Bitcoins on: July 02, 2011, 03:15:22 AM
Interesting.  I never thought about the word of mouth curiosity, and maybe people would only trust getting into things if a friend was in it too.  Finally, a good idea out of Bruce for once! lol
1858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin losing value on: July 01, 2011, 11:29:56 PM

No one mascot, decentralization Smiley

Maybe not such a good idea Sad
1860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I need to open a Tradehill account on: July 01, 2011, 09:51:19 PM

Well.  Yeah.   brb, going to bang head against desk now.
