1841  Economy / Gambling / Re: justbit.io asking me for KYC although their site explicitly states no KYC on: April 13, 2023, 08:23:02 AM
See point 14, where they clearly said they reserve the right to ask for valid identification of a user under the KYC procedure for some cases. For asking KYC you can not say they are scams. Maybe they have found something suspicious.
They stated it that KYC is required for withdraw. Check it again.

But if the user is suspicious, they can ask for KYC again. I have seen many sites that like doing that, asking for KYC again or asking for another documents to make sure that the user is not trying to manipulate with fake identity.
1842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S should embraced bitcoin on: April 13, 2023, 07:07:17 AM
Bitcoin is circulating in America as it is one of the largest bitcoin markets for investors and miners.
You are right, US has the largest market and miners, but also has the largest bitcoin ATMs, far greater than the second. We do not have to depend on the government before bitcoin adoption would continue, but just that the government should not do something that can discourage the continuous bitcoin adoption.

Also we should know that bitcoin is not only about US, it is about the world, even if US is discouraging bitcoin, what will happen is what happened when China discouraged it, governments on the world in all countries are not thinking the same, some countries will only see it as an advantage.

The US government especially Joe Biden sees bitcoin as a threat to the US dollar, and for this reason he doesn't want to promote bitcoin in his government but he has failed because bit coin don't need any promotion by government.
I do not think he failed, because he did not promote bitcoin. If he remain mute and do not talk about bitcoin, US remain bitcoin friendly nation. President is not the regulators, but I know how the president of a nation can be very powerful though and how his power and legislative power can override.
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Thought On Gambling Strategies on: April 13, 2023, 05:49:39 AM
I think people don't understand that there is no strategy in gambling. Gamble but consider your spending on it as an entertainment expense. Got luck on your side and won? Good. If you don't you still had fun.
This is true, many don't understand this, understanding this is understanding peace, gambling shouldn't be your sole way of getting rich, you will get burnt pretty fast, it is better to gamble like you are playing a video game, it's a luck game this time around so use the money you won't be needing any time soon.

The reason why many got rekt while gambling is because of the unrealistic expectations and the unrealistic dreams they want to fulfill through gambling.
Gambling should be for fun and nothing more than having fun and entertaining yourself, but gambling has strategies. What is needed is to never go against your strategy and never go beyond your budget. As a gambler, you can use strategy or use no strategy, but what make something fun for someone can make it not fun for another person. Because you do not like using any strategy is the fun you have while gambling, but having strategy is the fun for another person. What is important overall is discipline of emotion not to overcome you while gamble.
1844  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to buy or sell Bitcoin without using a centralized crypto exchange? on: April 13, 2023, 05:44:04 AM
Advising people to rely on third party review websites to trust any service is bad. You can use those sites but only for reference. You must do your own research to double check their review and grade on one service.
Do not worry, we that give it are checking the website. I am just still happy it grade the exchanges with score, Bisq is the first which is correct. If you always read the latest posts you have nothing to be worried about. We bend as the world is bending.

As a centralized exchange, Kucoin can turn to KYC-required exchange anytime in future.
Did you find time to read my post very well, I am sorry for saying this. Check this:

Try and differentiate between decentralized exchanges and exchanges that do not require KYC. No KYC needed for decentralized exchanges. But an exchange that requires KYC may not still be a decentralized exchange, like Kucoin that do not require KYC but can force you to provide KYC that requires identity verification.
1845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casino sports betting for gamblers at local bookmakers. on: April 13, 2023, 05:39:16 AM
Local bookmakers are quite capable of offering cryptos, as little regulation is needed for this to succeed. You just don't know exactly where your money is with Crypto, that's a disadvantage. But nowadays there are also large bookmakers who also offer crypto extra to be able to play. But is it wise to gamble with a crypto bookmaker that does not have a license and also has no company information on the site at all? Crypto gambling is becoming increasingly popular, that is one thing that is certain. Many gamblers love the anonymity of course.
Maybe you should read the OP again, because what your post is all about is different from the question he asked. He asked about addiction of his friend and how he was the one that introduced him to gambling. They already know what to do to avoid issues, but his friend is a an addict to gambling is the problem.

In my country, all local bookmakers and casinos are offering fiat, it is on this forum that I see gambling sites that offer crypto deposit and withdraw.
1846  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Viable Alternative to Fiat Currency on: April 12, 2023, 06:55:44 PM
Bitcoin is a viable alternative, we should not rush anything, bitcoin will progress to more adoption. Is it already a means of payment without the need of any government, you can exchange it to fiat too. What then remains that humans themselves are not having enough technical knowledge to know if is how bitcoin is working. I am always not feeling happy that people can spend bitcoin in my country but people are just not spending it, what they do most is that they hold it which is good too because demand is its strength in value and increasing price.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto casino sports betting for gamblers at local bookmakers. on: April 12, 2023, 04:50:49 PM
I think that since they liked to bet on local bookies, they were already addicted but addiction was not there yet because they had to find ways to gamble as gambling was strictly prohibited by government and they even went to jail for some days before they were released. You should not feel guilty at all as you told them a new way of playing without fear in the pseudo anonymous crypto casinos that most governments can't really track as it would drain them a lot of money and resources to do so,so you did a good deed for them and you should be proud of that.

It is not your fault that one becomes addicted, anyone is responsible for their own actions at the end of the day,so nothing to fear, they were already avid gamblers before your invitation anyway.
I will say also that it is not his fault. Like in my country or my area if I should be specific, anyone can be exposed to gambling at anytime and it is common among friends. Because a friend knows gambling through me and he is addicted, I will kind of feel guilty because I care, unless I do not care is when I will not feel like anything is happening.

If it is me, I will not give up to continuing advising him and make him realize how gambling can not be helpful but distractive if there is addiction.
1848  Other / Beginners & Help / How to buy or sell Bitcoin without using a centralized crypto exchange? on: April 12, 2023, 12:08:22 PM
In my own view, you can only buy bitcoin using P2P if you want decentralized system, almost others or all others are centralized.

What is P2P? Read this thread about P2P exchanges: What is a P2P exchange?.

There are only two P2P exchanges. They are:
  • transfer of coin or fiat in exchange of fiat or crypto directly like buying something from someone
  • the use of P2P exchanges

The main characteristic of P2P exchange is that it is not centralized in any way. Buying bitcoin from someone and give the person fiat is not centralized, also use of decentralized exchange like Bisq is not centralized.

Use this link for decentralized exchanges: https://kycnot.me/, but use the score to grade it. Some are semi decentralized, while exchanges like Kucoin is centralized but does not require KYC.

This is what I read today which is a mistake from Cointelegraph, even it is they are mistakes: How to buy or sell Bitcoin without using a centralized crypto exchange?

https://cointelegraph.com/news/how-to-buy-or-sell-bitcoin-without-using-a-centralized-crypto-exchange

Quote
The crypto industry already offers ways to exchange cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin
BTC for fiat money without using a CEX like Binance. However, such a process is associated with certain pros and cons and may require additional research.

Quote
Bitcoin ATMs
Bitcoin-enabled automated teller machines (ATMs) are probably one of the easiest ways to exchange fiat money for crypto and vice versa. Like conventional ATMs, Bitcoin ATMs allow users to deposit and withdraw money using cash or a debit card. But instead of a bank account, a Bitcoin ATM requires users to have a BTC wallet address to deposit or withdraw money.

What I know is that bitcoin ATM is getting regulated and they have operators, it requires verification for high amount and sim verification for low amount of coins. In my view, bitcoin ATM are centralized.

Quote
Peer-to-peer Bitcoin exchange platforms
Peer-to-peer (P2P) Bitcoin exchange marketplaces are among the most common crypto exchange options alongside Bitcoin ATMs. Such platforms allow users to trade digital currency directly with each other without the need for a centralized third party to facilitate the transactions.

While providing a more resilient option on the regulatory side, P2P services are often associated with security issues, according to Quantum Economics founder and CEO Mati Greenspan. P2P exchanges like Binance P2P or now-terminated Paxful and LocalBitcoins are “certainly a step in the right direction

I thought they were getting what was P2P before, but they included that Binance P2P, including extinct Paxful and Localbitcoins are all P2P exchanges, but that is not correct, they are all centralized exchanges.

Crypto on-ramp/off-ramp integrations on software or hardware wallets
Another common way to buy or sell crypto without a CEX is using an on-ramp or an off-ramp solution provided within a self-custodial wallet through a third-party payment provider.

Software wallets like Exodus and hardware ones — like Ledger and Trezor — offer several methods to deposit or withdraw Bitcoin using default software through various payment integrations. Such wallets often allow users to buy crypto or cash out their coins using bank transfers, debit or credit card payments, Apple Pay and other options, depending on the country of the user’s bank location.

Those integrated exchanges on noncustodial wallets are either instant exchanges or bank transfer exchanges. Their fee is very high and they are all centralized.

I like Cointelegraph because they give some news that are good and worth people to know what is going on but sometimes I am always convinced that they are just given newbies wrong information. This is absolutely wrong information from Cointelegraph.
1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are lotteries really a good way to engage with gamblers? on: April 12, 2023, 09:29:45 AM
I have tried playing lotteries through online casinos a couple of times but when I wasn't convinced and satisfied with the results, I stopped playing it. I also realized that I was only betting each day without making any profit which I think is just a waste of time and money.
No, I don't track the progress but I'm always curious about the jackpot winner to see if they're honest and transparent. I think providing at least a consolation prize for some players would add more excitement to the game.
There are some things I see as a waste of time. For me to be among one of the thousands or million of people just seem like luck which I may not have. I am satisfied with the little amount I am using to gamble than to go for lottery. I do not believe in such luck.

I'm not very much into lottery, just because. And I'm sure there are other people like me too who don't prefer it as a way to connect or interact. But personally, I think a good way wherein you can engage with the gamblers is through promotions, campaigns, and bonuses. Some people prefer this over lottery because they have the autonomy on what they will play. Since lottery is a game of luck, it won't sit well with others who prefer much more than that.
This is a good suggestion, there is nothing better than having like 100% or more deposit bonus offer, having other promotional offers, having good deposit and excellent withdraw etc. These are what I look to in a casino that can attract me to register and join.
1850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering requirements for withdraw on: April 12, 2023, 09:20:00 AM
There are casinos that you can deposit and withdraw all your deposit.
On many other casinos, if you win, you will be able to withdraw.
On some other casinos, they have low amount of time to gamble before users would be able to withdraw.

A casino that requires 5x win or so or more is only finding a means to make sure its users are not able to withdraw but lose all their gambling money. I do not expect any gambler to use this type of site.

It is very good to read casino terms and conditions before you deposit money into any gambling site.
1851  Economy / Reputation / Re: 10 years of Bitcointalk (and Bitcoin) on: April 11, 2023, 08:18:55 PM
Congratulations joker_josue.

How I wish to have known about this forum and bitcoin since many years ago, but I only know about these just like it is never yet long. I wish you have progressed very well in life, most importantly if you have been accumulating bitcoin, this would have not disappointed you.

I hope it is never too long for people like me.
1852  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What's a crypto/bitcoin scam that most people and newbies simply don't notice? on: April 11, 2023, 08:11:59 PM
I do not think someone that have known about scam very well before would be able not to know about any scam. Even if the person do not know about some scam, it would still be avoidable unless he just want to remain greedy like the newbies. If you have experience, scammers will find it difficult to scam you, they only prefer newbies or those that do not know about how to avoid scam.

As for newbies, some among them may find it difficult to avoid scam.
1853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy in casinos on: April 11, 2023, 08:02:35 AM
I have lost a few times using this strategy, so I would like to warn newcomers who are confident that this strategy is a win-win. This is not true and a lot depends on luck and the size of your bankroll.
Some people are using martingale strategy wrongly, an example is when chosing using it for low odds like 2, do not mind me considering 2x as low odds when using martingale strategy, it is because if one game is lost, it may be hard to recover loss if the first game is lost. When using martingale strategy, I go for casino games of at least 3 odds which is better. If I want to play five games with it, I can still recover losses if just a single game is won before the five games. But if no single game is won, it is a big loss.
1854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Not own Bitcoin but like to discuss about Bitcoin on: April 11, 2023, 07:50:56 AM
Do anyone else not own Bitcoin but like to discuss about Bitcoin like me?
Bitcoin is available for buyers to buy from sellers at anytime of the day, week, month or year. The supply is limited but it is available to buy and its price and value will increase as the demand is increasing.

Every day, I still read news about Bitcoin and check its price, but currently, I don't own any Bitcoin. Lol.
Why? Because you thought the price will decrease? Or because you thought bitcoin is not what bitcoin enthusiasts said it is? I hope you will not miss the next bull run.
1855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and dollar on: April 10, 2023, 08:46:55 PM
If fiat are rising or valuing in price, it may not be noticed. If bitcoin is paired with United States dollars, if USD fall in price, it will result to increase in the price of bitcoin.

If bitcoin increase and USD increases, but bitcoin increases more, the price of bitcoin will increase but not up to the value it would have increased up to if USD decreases or remain constant and did not increase at all.

If bitcoin decrease and dollar increase, but bitcoin decreased more, bitcoin will decrease more than the price it supposed to decrease to.

Pairs have effect on each other.
1856  Other / Off-topic / Re: Beginners avoid buying forum accounts. on: April 10, 2023, 07:38:22 PM
These are what I know about buying forum account:

1. If you are newbie, you can be banned because you are not qualified to have higher rank and you go against forum rules
2. Newbies can be scammed while buying an account

There is nothing hard to build an account if you know that you want to join a signature campaign.

https://www.tradingview.com/news/cointelegraph:e57051a3d094b:0-south-korean-crypto-exchange-gdac-hacked-for-nearly-14m/

South Korean crypto exchange GDAC has been hacked for approximately $13.9 million worth of crypto. The exchange has halted all deposits and withdrawals and is performing emergency server maintenance in response to the attack, according to an April 10 announcement from GDAC CEO Han Seunghwan.

I hope wise people that care for their coins that can yield 10x will have their coins on a noncustodial wallet to avoid the inconveniences or probably total loss of money.

Not you key not your coin, there is nothing better than noncustodial wallet. Cold noncustodial wallets are safer.
1858  Economy / Gambling / Re: Blockchain Casinos - Consumer's Choice 2023! on: April 10, 2023, 01:42:32 PM
What is JustBit? this is the first time I heard this casino.

If you only compare these 5 casinos, obviously Stake will win, too easy lol.

You need to add other casinos in this forum especially the casinos which have active signature campaign because it's a way to make other people know the existence of the casino we're promoting and most of them are big casinos.
I too have never heard of JustBit casino before, this is the first time I am hearing about this casino and there are many other casinos that are on this forum which are the ones that are most common to us, we use them and they are good.

I am wondering why Flush, Livecasino, Rollbit, Duelbit and many other casinos that we know are not on the poll so that we can have a fun voting.

This is the first time I have noticed a decentralized gambling site on Bitcointalk. This is good.

I checked the site now and only requires people to connect through Metamask wallet. Is there any plan that you will support more noncustodial wallets later?

It looks like sport betting site, is there casino offers too?
