1841  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: May 31, 2023, 04:50:59 PM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.
It shouldn't be something we consider to be normal cause it's really not normally at all that a gambling site or any site at all would make changes to their ToS and wouldn't see the need to bring such changes to the awareness of their users. Such could be referred to as fraudulent act cause it's deceptive of the user's intelligence.

Only a few gambling sites understands so well the importance of reputation and upholds it while others flagrantly behave as they which in their race to make profit at all cost. No wonder so many only gambling sites are shutting down cause their repute has been trampled on by their unethical ways of doing business that have driven away both old and new users.
Quote

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?
I haven't had such case with any of the gambling sites am currently using, but it would be helpful if other gamblers bring to the notice of the public about such sites for the sake of awareness.
1842  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Scamfree Marketplace on: May 31, 2023, 10:50:10 AM
I wanted to ask if there is any interest in building a scamfree marketplace for NFT/ordinal trading?

i am thinking about an idea for quite a while now and i think ifound an at least rudimental way to accomplish that.
so if i would setup such a scamfree marketplace would there be any interest of yours in using it ?
Almost everyone is scared of the NFT marketplace and we all tread with caution because of the level of scam activities that's growing rapidly in the  NFT market. AFAIK all what people need is a scam free market platform where they would be able to do their business comfortably.

It's left for you to make sure your project is build on a solid source, support,  Security heightened and procedures of  doing business should be clearly stated as part of operational policies.  Am sure when you get to build up such project there would be like minds that would show up interest in partnering with you.
1843  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A nob in trading needs help on: May 30, 2023, 09:45:44 PM
At this level, I am well informed about Bitcoin and its securities, I have read on the forum how Bitcoin and cryptocurrency trading has changed people's lives, and I am kind of interested in acquiring skills, I have read in many other threads on how risky Bitcoin trading is.
Learning about cryptocurrency trading never ends, as the more we learn the newer experiences we gain to apply to as more suitable strategy to assist in depleting risk to the barest minimum in our trades because trading is of a truth not an easy task so don't be full of yourself thinking you have read many enough there's still much more to discover.
Quote
But at this point, I will really like to know whether or not Bitcoin trading is a means to gain profits during market speculations, and how possible it is to make passive income through cryptocurrency trading.
Market speculations just as the letters implies are mere opinions of other traders based on their perspective or lens about the market.  Wether you chose to trading on bitcoin or alts you're expected to do you're own market analysis about the very coin before delving into any trade and not rely on speculations from other traders as some of them are bunch of opinions from paid promoters alike, so therefore you could be losing your money even before trading stead of profiting.
1844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some needed features of an online casino. on: May 30, 2023, 01:01:24 PM

I am hoping that people who gamble can still prevent themselves from being addicted on it, there are still a lot of things that we can do to prevent addiction and those gambling websites or application can also help their customer by doing these things.

1. They can use more secured ways to identify the real identity of their customer, the best thing to do here, aside from valid ID is they should add "take a selfie" on identity process.
2. They can also set a time limit of playing for a player, give notification if this would be their last game anymore for today.
3. Set a notification showing how long they've been playing.

With these kind of features, they might actually help or lessen the addiction of a gambler.
Honestly this features if adopted could to a large extend limit the increase numbers of  children that are now secretly gambling through the use of their parents ID without the consent of their parents or guidance. The gambling sites can on their own block out those that still want  to manipulate the registration process through impersonation with the use of a clear selfie whose face must match with that of the ID presented. By this adoption children will be discouraged to gamble not until they come of age.

I wonder if gambling sites would give an open am to the second and third features. And there are other group of gamblers that may see these features are deprivative of their fun moment , cause it could be at the peak of their fun and that's when they're notified of an impending one time limit left of play. You know that feel of being asked to go home when the party is just getting started  Grin

True that bitcoin is one of the fastest growing digital asset innovation in the world today. But when you say bitcoin is "beyond mere human explanation" it's what I would like to have you throw more light on for my understanding.

It would have been more acceptable if you had attached a source data to this flashy information of yours cause from the look of things two third part of the the world is yet to come even to the knowledge of bitcoin existence talk more of it usage and admiration in that percentage.
1846  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Throwback: First Bitcoin Website in 2009 on: May 30, 2023, 06:04:45 AM
I am sure many persons like myself are seeing and knowing this for the first time since from whence they started using bitcoin. And when we come across such informations it reminds us that it's pertinent to go way way back to history of bitcoin cause undoubtedly having the knowledge about the history of anything you're interested about is one other way to having a better guide of direction about the possible future for such a thing.

From the picture provided by by OP above the difference is very clear about a lot of changes that have taken place over the year's in the process of bitcoin transactions. And we hope to see a more better technological features and future for bitcoin in the coming years ahead.
1847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today I Have Shared About The Benefits Of Bitcoin With My Friends on: May 29, 2023, 10:29:17 PM
Very few have the luxury of explaining so much in details to others about bitcoin and that's no because they don't want it to spread to other but that they fear to play the blame game should anything worse about the cryptocurrency market happens.

OP you have taken time to school your friends about bitcoin and the positive side of it and I can only imagine how elaborating you were but I hope you did mention some other key areas of responsibility and risks that is inevitable that as a cryptocurrency holder you're bond to experience such as:

-privacy and security of your keys (your responsibility)
- market volatility which may delay your investment plans like almost forever.
- The needed wallets and exchanges depending on their choice about KYC, etc.

When next you have them around do well to through more light on these key areas and watch out if they still show interest, so it not be to them like bitcoin is one get rich quick kind of schemes out there.

1848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Allow To Undergo Hypnosis If A Professional Recommend To Cure Gambling on: May 29, 2023, 08:12:56 PM

I have been addicted before in gambling. What I noticed was that I have no way of earning and that makes me to depend on gambling. But gambling thought me lesson to never see gambling as a way of making money.
Dependence on gambling as a source of income is one issue that have contributed greatly to the numbers of gambling addiction in the society.  The feeling of joblessness can bore you so well that you blindly accept the deception that gambling can be a way out of your financial misery whereas it does only compound your penury the more.

I haven't done a research about this though, but I sense that the most successful gamblers are ain't those that took or saw gambling as a source of income or earnings but it's rather those that understands that it's just an activity for fun with a little spice of seriousness based on the money attached.

If every gambler could inbibe this idea about gambling then there would be rare cases of gambling addictions.
1849  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you lose on slots? on: May 29, 2023, 11:38:12 AM
i play slots hoping to win 'big win' or 'jackpot' but many times it don't hits and my balance get drained after betting many times in one slot machine. i play more bets hoping it already took my so much balance it will definitely going to hit this times, but it never happens, and my balance becomes "0".

so i am sharing some tips to avoid this type of losing streak or bad luck in slots.
here it starts:

1. always set a budget for playing slots and stick to it. do not chase losses or try to win back what you have lost by playing more.
Only self disciplined gamblers do s apply this method and stick to it. Having an already planned budget for your gambling gives you control over your money and helps you avoid financial waste in gambling that comes with the instinct of believing you're going to win if you try again, which leads to another trials after another till you're empty.
Quote

2. if a slot machine does not hit in 7-10 spins, consider trying a different machine. this can help you avoid getting stuck on a losing streak and losing more money.
Somehow this can be helpful but it doesn't give good results all the times. In few cases it better you quit for that day.
Quote
3. if you have been playing a slot machine for 50 spins and have not gotten any free spins or big wins, consider switching to a different machine.
this can help you avoid wasting money on a machine that is unlikely to pay out.
You can rarely find any gambler who would dare spend so much time as that spinning a particular slot game for 50 times especially when ain't making any winnings within those numbers of spins.  But like I said in No.2, it's better to quit for that day as it's obvious you may not be in luck on that very day, so in avoidance of possibility of more losses quiting is a better option.
Quote

6. if you do hit a big win, consider tipping any nearby players who may have been unlucky or busting. This can help spread good karma and keep the atmosphere positive.
This isn't a bad idea  Grin . If I can share the news of a new casino in town why shouldn't I be in a hurry to spread the tip  of a big win among my fellow gamblers.  At least we can all go home smiling wide for that very day.
Quote

8. first check the RTP (reward to player) and RTP should between 96%-100%
I am one of such gamblers that doesn't compromise with rewards as I see it as something I deserve by virtue of my patronizing the casino. And am sure there are others like me out there too.
1850  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Diversification of Scam Techniques in Cryptocurrency on: May 29, 2023, 09:37:15 AM
If for anything else I think a good investors should know that he needs to do a thorough underground research and investigation about any digital asset he's to invest in. Anyone that jumps into any sort of investment without finding need to dig deep about it, such is responsible for his attitude.
Scammers are not slumbering at all in their gimmicks and so should we not too. I think most occurrence of scam victims are due to laziness of such fellows to taking time to do their own research.
1851  Economy / Economics / Re: Are we headed to a nowhere economic direction ? on: May 28, 2023, 05:23:32 PM

In my country over the past few months, the interest rates have been declining. Our government aims to stimulate the economy through a set of financial policies but there seems to be less effective than before. Under the backdrop of the global economic recession, no government will be able to outperform others easily. The dilemma we are facing now is that we are actually losing whether to spend the few money we have at hands or to save it in banks for less and less interest. Real estate is collapsing and even the rich people have no options to invest.
Every government of each country are battling seriously with inflation problems and you can hardly find any government that's doing well economically currently. And like like all economic policies are failing with no remedy in place and all of these are a burden borne on the citizens.

Personally I have invested in cryptocurrencies but due to the current market, there is no sign that I will profit any time soon, so I guess the result of the investment remains unknown. Although I still have steady income from my job, uncertainties will not diminish as I hope for a stable feed for my family and for savings as much as possible. What is your situation in your country ? Are you going to experience some economic turmoil as well ? Please let me know.
At this time there's so more necessity for multiple streams of income like never before as way to meet up with certain family responsibilities as a family as all government economic policies are really not giving us a positive relief. And crypto especially bitcoin is one way out of such burden.
1852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: who Want To Bet On 2024 USA elections? on: May 28, 2023, 10:28:13 AM
I wouldn't in anyway want to get involved in politics gambling based on personal reasons. But if am allowed to digress a bit. Mixing contemporary gambling with politics is somehow comic but intriguing at same time. As both concept operates differently but with same requirements from the competitors in the game. Tacitly put, in the game of gambling rigging or cheating is greatly abhorred, same in politics too but at the end we still get to see all these things such as rigging, cheating coming into play secretly or openly.

And I think it's the so much gambling we have likened politics to be like that we have so much anomalies and violence taking place in politics. just my personal thoughts.
1853  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your most effective crypto trading strategies? on: May 27, 2023, 08:51:25 PM
Crypto trading is one journey that needs a lot of critical thinking and one need to always be ahead and alert in terms of decision making  towards any coin he chooses to trade in. But more importantly, you need to kill fear while trading, particularly the fear of making losses as trading is inevitable to traders both acclaimed professionals or learners. The only thing is that we all try to mitigate it making sure our profits outshines our loss.

Combining fear with trading can only make a trader incur more losses as he could out of refuse to key into a trading opportunity that would have earned him some profits only because it didn't really appeared to have  some potential, only to end up falling into the wrong trade.  And this would keep on happening as long as fear isn't killed in a trader's life.

1855  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 27, 2023, 10:57:20 AM
It's not easy being a newbie, particularly when you don't have a prior knowledge about bitcoin before joining the forum. it demands a lot of courage and determination to be able to withstand certain ugly reactions and replies in the forum. And for a newbie that understands what he's here for then no amount of intimidation that should deter their determination and steps to continually being active in the forum. Dealing with those reprimand replies and the supposed harsh environment from some older members is just another way to prove them wrong and showing them you're worth being a forum member by virtue of your exposition and contributions to discussion.

And all of these are locked in patience which some newbies lack when faced with certain forum challenges like growth, and perhaps shy away abandoning their account never to return.

The finest of all gold's are refined in the hottest furnace. If it is pampered in the fire it wouldn't receive the beauty, admiration and attraction it gets from people that come across it. So relating it to the forum I think I wouldn't caption it as a harsh environment but rather describe it as a way of retaining quality personality to membership but in my opinion I think some older members are just going the extreme in their firmness to maintaining best standard in the community.

1856  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help us to choose a bonus for a review campaign! on: May 26, 2023, 09:51:43 PM
I would have to say that ratings and reviews should not be incentivized in the first place.

That seems incredibly intransparent and the review will not really be worth much. If anything this is just Megapari asking for a manufactured, inauthentic review from their own gambling community.  Of course they will only give a positive review, not only because those people want a bonus for their account but also because they are already biased in favor of the casino.

That's really a bit disappointing. I am not sure if I would want to trust such a casino after this.
It depends.

If the @OP give incentive for the top 10 best reviews, this will increase the possibility people will write a positive review since they only want to become top 10 reviewers. But this would be different if the @OP give incentive before the users give reviews, the users are free to criticism, write positive or bad review because they already get the money, they have nothing to lose here.
What makes you think that majority of the people would want to give a negative critique report when incentive is attached to the review process. In real sense what @goldkingcoiner is trying to say is that, no mouth would want to bite the hand that feeds it. Hence, most reviews might not be out of transparency of mind but for the sake of the box.

Am not in anyway discouraging or against paying for reviews but how can we really know which review is genuinely from the heart without bias and another which is actually bias. That's where a balance becomes an issue.
1857  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin bonus real or a scam? on: May 26, 2023, 11:50:37 AM
There's no free money or bitcoin anywhere. Be wary of free money in any form cause even in Freetown nothing is free. This is my first time of hearing about a bitcoin bonus website and I can't for sure say it's genuine or not but what I can throw at you as advise is that there are lots of scam schemes out there preying on the greed of those that want everything for free. So be careful.

I can see you're a newbie and this is your second post on the forum. You're welcome.

1858  Economy / Economics / Re: marry rich: marry fiat rich or crypto rich, which is better? on: May 26, 2023, 10:59:44 AM
And your mum would constantly tell you if you don't get married nobody would take care of you when your aged. Nobody would make a tomb for you, and when you died you would go to afterlife with empty stomach and would suffer straving too in the afterlife. That must be a lot of hurt! ouch!
Now this your idea is fed by some misguided superstitious beliefs and nothing more. You better emancipate yourself from such thought cause they're just a myth that soem persons patronize themselves with.
Quote

So back to question. which is preferred? Married to fiat rich or crypto rich? Although crypto can be created at the comfort of your basement, also the value would plummet quickly to near zero too. Do you think in your life, you would ever see someone marry to crypto rich? btw recent news about ftx being rejected to sponsor a superstar due to it is unregistered tell me marry crypto rich might be a distance dream. Also there would be only 21m bitcoin existed, only 21m couples would be able to married rich. When there is billions of population, a lot of couples may not marry rich, due to unequal distribution, some of the crypto super rich would married hundreds of thousand more.
If I grab your message very well, you're trying to know if people prefer marrying people that are rich in cryptocurrency or fiat. Right?
I think wealth shouldn't be a basis for going into marriage with someone, for just like many marriages we have seen these days such couples don't last in their marriage.

What then happens should there be no more crypto or fiat wealth attached to your spouse net worth? I guess it's going to be the end of the road and, that's why there are so many divorcees in the society today than actual single ladies/men that had never married before.
1859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 25, 2023, 08:10:25 PM
>snip
Manchester United immediately won 1-0 in the 5th minute through Casemiro's goal, it didn't seem like a difficult match for United and secured the top 4 positions this season. But until 35th minutes, still not any goals scored by Manchester United or Chelsea and if this score until end match will get benefic for Manchester United securing their top fourth standing and qualify to Champion League next season.

Chelsea's performance this season is not so special, being ranked 12th is the worst performance in the previous several seasons and Chelsea will certainly not participate in the Europe League and Champions League for next season.
Chelsea have so far been unlucky in their attempts to score goals. I think Chelsea created some good chances but their finishing was not very convincing. Conor Gallagher had a chance a few minutes before half-time end, but he couldn't take his chance properly and that was quite disappointing.
I don't seem to grab a clue of what is going on with Chelsea not just tonight but this season. Like they could be playing well but no clinical and precised conversion of chances at the goal mouth. And it baffles me if this players truly playing anymore for the badge or it's just a game on the pitch to them.

There are a lot of players that needs to leave next season as a great weight awaits pochenitto next season in reorganizing and building the team with players that really understands what it means to play for the badge. We can't keep conceding and losing in every game. This is not Chelsea.
1860  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 25, 2023, 02:01:11 PM
This actually happens if there is a similar thread I'll lock this thread.

My friend invited me for a round of drinks just last night to confess something, and that is his wife threatened to leave their house and file for legal separation because the wife just discovered that he's spending a lot of time gambling, she thought that he's just playing games but she discovered his logged because the idiot has his password in the browser, so the wife check his withdrawal and voila his losing a lot of money and she also discovered that he won big money in the past but didn't tell her.
There are things in our live we should stop hiding from our partner especially for married people as to avoid certain misunderstanding. Our partner should be carried along and if you feel they may not consent to what you're into like the gambling then there are ways you can talk them into understanding for the sake of your happiness they might obliged and support you controllably in it. I know of a family where the husband is a gambler even to the acknowledgement of the wife and older children. The wife keeps in check on how much he's got to spend on his gambling each week so he doesn't go rogue with spending. She clearly understands that gambling is a hobby for her husband and the only way she can come in is to help regulate his spending on it.

Quote
I guess that blew her patience for not telling his winning, so he threaten that he should stop gambling or they part ways, my friend choose his wife so he cannot play until he can convince his wife and promise her to tell her if he won big. Cheesy

How about you have you been threatened by your wife, your girlfriend, or your parents, if so tell us your story.

I think I have but, from an unserious date. I wasn't really into her so I never took her threat for any thing serious because we were just dating and not married.

She had her hate for gambling through a horrible family member experience that was an uncontrollable gambler.
