1841  Economy / Gambling / Re: SEARCHING FOR OPINIONS ON A CRASH GAMBLING SITE IDEA on: May 23, 2022, 05:33:44 AM
Quote
1) Would you be interested in investing in the game's bankroll if I got the site registered and provably fair? (The same way that people invest into BAB and EC)
2) Would you be interested in playing the site if I made it?
3) What cryptocurrency should the site accept?
4) What types of features should I add to interest people to join?

1.No. There's no point even asking this question at this point. First, show us the finished product(a fully functional website) and then ask for investors. Don't expect someone to invest in your project, just because you have made a website. Building trust is a slow and tedious process.

2.I don't mind testing your website for free.

3.Why do you even have to ask this question? Just stick with the big cryptocurrencies. You could add 1000 shitcoins, but this won't add anything to your service.

4.A bonus system, or a decent referral system, so that you could get referral traffic and the gamblers do the promotion for you(assuming that you have a great website and you are not scamming people).
1842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Habitual Bitcoin Buyer-Not what you think on: May 23, 2022, 05:12:57 AM
Your problem doesn't seem like a problem at all.
If you need cash, just sell a part of your BTC for fiat money and spend the fiat for buying necessary stuff or paying the bills.
I don't expect a massive bull run to come anytime soon, so the BTC price stay around the 30K mark, or it might go down to 25K. There's no problem buying Bitcoins to replenish your Bitcoin reserve, after you have sold some.
I guess that you have a weird syndrome, where you like to gather and hoard bigger amounts of a resource, rather than wasting resources.
It's like a squirrel wanting to gather as much nuts as possible. That's why I call it the "squirrel syndrome" (there might be a more scientific term for that particular condition). Grin
1843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can a new sportsbook gain trust? on: May 22, 2022, 10:15:00 AM
The only way to build trust is to have actual social proof of your trustworthiness.
Ask people to signup and use your sportsbook in exchange of an honest review. Post the reviews on your website or on social media.
Create accounts on websites like Trustpilot and encourage more users to leave reviews about your website. If anyone leave a negative review, just talk with him and solve the problem.
Being trustworthy means 2 things:
1.Keeping your promises.
2.Providing great customer support service and solving all the issues your customers might have in a timely manner.

Good luck with your project, OP.I expect you to make an announcement thread in the gambling forum, so we could see your sportsbook website.
1844  Economy / Economics / Re: If inflation is rising, why isn't crypto more valuable now? on: May 22, 2022, 09:25:01 AM
There are two types of inflation:
1.Demand inflation-when money printing machine goes brrr... and there are too many paper money circulating in the economy.
2.Cost inflation-when the prices of important commodities increase due to non-economical factors, like western sanctions over Russia, the war in Ukraine, the supply chains getting disrupted by the pandemic, the microchip deficit, etc...
We are witnessing a combination of the two types of inflation right now. The investors are selling risky assets and buying safe heaven assets like gold and real estate. Bitcoin(and crypto coins in general) simply isn't viewed as a safe heaven asset. In times of crisis and uncertainty, the investors are sticking to what they are familiar with.
1845  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going on??? on: May 22, 2022, 05:59:03 AM
When I purchased early on, the price for a btc was $11,000 . a few months ago, I can recall the price level
was $63,000 . I just knew that it was going to hit the $100,000 mark...Now as of today its $30,180

What is going on???  Also, can anyone predetermine if the btc will reach the $100,000 and is the btc
worth the investment...An educated guess, is acceptable!

Were you sleeping under a rock in the last 7 months? Do you expect somebody to spoonfeed you with info about what happened to the crypto market in the last several months? You have a computer with internet access, just use it and you will find out about the reasons for the bearish crypto market.
How the hell did you knew that Bitcoin is going to hit the 100K USD mark? Did you have a crystal ball or something?
If you were so confident about the price hitting 100K, why are you asking about the price dropping? Can't you just predict this?
There's a war in Ukraine. There's global inflation, combined with expectations of a recession. The investors are running away from high risk assets(obviously cryptocurrencies are high risk assets). The Luna/Terra stablecoin project collapsed.
Do you want more reasons why the BTC price is down?
Do you want more reason?
1846  Economy / Economics / Re: Stop buying from automated producers / businesses, it's making you poor on: May 20, 2022, 10:38:39 AM
Yeah, the industrial revolution was a disaster for the human civilization. We should go back to the good old days of feudalism and slavery, when everything was manufactured by hand and there were no stupid machines, robots and AI. Grin
Technical progress has pros and cons, I think that the pros are WAY MORE than the cons. Emphasizing the cons without acknowledging the pros is simply stupid.
Mass production is way cheaper than hand made production(and the quality can be the same or even better).Buying cheaper goods actually makes you rich, not poor. The people, who lose their jobs due to the mass automation will have to change their qualification and find another job. The market economy is ruthless. Efficiency is ruthless. If you are not efficient, the market will kick you out. Whining about this is pointless.
1847  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Any changes experienced within body - Gambling??? on: May 20, 2022, 06:24:54 AM
I'm not a doctor, but I think that the main reasons for your symptoms are just stress and unhealthy lifestyle(eating junk food and not exercising).
Eating healthy foods, doing intermittent fasting, exercising more, doing meditation to lower stress, getting more magnesium and zinc.
All those things can improve your condition. If you symptoms remain, you should just quit gambling for a while, or just don't gamble with money. There are lots of gambling apps and websites, where you can play for fun with a fake in-game currency.
I've gambled a lot several years ago, but I haven't experienced any anxiety, stomach pain or depression. I was wasting only small amounts of money, maybe that's the reason I've never experienced any physical problems while gambling.
1848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador will be the richest country in the world in 8 years? on: May 20, 2022, 05:55:38 AM
I saw this post and what do you think? Is it possible for him to become that rich in such a short time?

look at the post here https://boletimbitcoin.com/2022/05/19/com-o-bitcoin-el-salvador-sera-o-pais-mais-rico-do-mundo-em-8-anos/

El Salvador would become a rich country, if they find giant amounts of oil, gold and natural gas(not going to happen).
Another way for the country to become rich is to invest in the people and have a great educational system(which will never happen).
Buying Bitcoins and waiting for the BTC price to hit 500K or 1M USD won't make the country rich, because the president(and many politicians and bureaucrats) will put their hands over this massive wealth and steal the Bitcoins. A corrupted minority will become rich, but the majority of El Salvador will stay poor. Corruption is a major problem in the underdeveloped Latin American countries.
1849  Economy / Speculation / Re: Trying to identify the bottom.. on: May 19, 2022, 11:18:06 AM
Great analysis, but making technical analysis without fundamental analysis seems kinda pointless to me.
What if the Bitcoin price gets out of the bear market and right before the bull run something happens-a major FUD campaign, a government crypto ban, some big crypto project collapsing, a big crypto exchange getting hacked... All the technical analysis goes into oblivion.
OK, we all get it, the Bitcoin price is going to recover several months(or maybe a year) after the May price crash. We don't need technical analysis, in order to know this info.
The price bottom doesn't matter for the hardcore BTC HODLers. If you plan to HODL for years, does it even matter what the price bottom will be?18K, 20K or 25K?I understand that knowing when the price bottom will occur would be beneficial for the buyers, but almost nobody can have a perfect timing over the crypto markets.
1850  Economy / Economics / Re: A decision to make on: May 19, 2022, 10:43:36 AM
Would you rather buy a house to live in or rent an apartment to invest in bitcoin  Since bitcoin is experiencing bear what decision will you take make use of the season or let it pass.

Making a comparison between houses and apartments is dumb.
I don't like living in an apartment, which makes me a "house guy" I guess. Grin
Nowadays, the most common way to buy a house or apartment is getting a mortgage and paying for the next 25-30 years. This is basically the same as renting, but you get to keep the house/apartment after the loan gets paid.
Getting a mortgage makes sense, if you are planning to have children.
What do you mean by "rent an apartment and invest in Bitcoin"? I guess you are assuming that someone with 200K USD would just rent an apartment and invest the remaining money into BTC, rather spending all the money on buying a house.
I don't have 200K USD, but I can tell you that I would never spend them on buying a house(or apartment), mostly because I don't have kids and I don't plan having kids.
1851  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction causing victim to scam his family on: May 19, 2022, 05:38:38 AM
Man, I've heard more awful horror stories about gambling addiction.
In my country, a gambling addict killed his girlfriend, because she found out that he is stealing money from her, in order to gamble.
He cut her body into pieces and tried to deceive the police, but the police caught him. I understand that he was an addict, but what kind of sociopathic monster would kill own girlfriend, just because she found out that he was stealing money from her.
Many gambling and drug addicts had stolen money from their friends and families. I don't know who to blame in that case. The addicts? The gambling industry? Their friends and families, for not helping them fight their addiction? I guess that we have to put the blame on everyone.
1852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kwik Trip To Install 800 New Bitcoin ATM on: May 19, 2022, 05:14:07 AM
The guys at Kwik Trip don't know what they are doing. Who the hell would use those Bitcoin ATMs?
1.The fees are so high.
2.Using crypto exchanges is way more convenient, despite all the KYC procedures.
3.Someone could find a way to hack those ATMs and steal the coins of many people.
I have always thought that Bitcoin ATMs are a dead business model, but some companies keep insisting on that model.
Trying to copy the fiat financial system, with all those Bitcoin ATMs and crypto debit cards is a dumb move, if you ask me.
The crypto financial system must be way different than the fiat system, in order to succeed. We simply don't need ATMs and debit cards.
Anyway, let's wait and see if this investment is going to get a positive ROI for Kwik Trip, in which I highly doubt.
1853  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fiat vs Bitcoin. "bad money drives out good.” on: May 18, 2022, 11:15:00 AM
Yeah, the Gresham's law has been mentioned a hundred times in the forum so far.
I've studied about Gresham's law at university. I used to study Economics and I have a bachelor's degree, but I think that I've wasted my time.
Anyway, the massive amount of HODLers means that many people have faith in the future of Bitcoin, which is great.
I assume that the HODLers are the only reason why the BTC price keeps staying around 30K USD right now.
Imagine if the people hoarding Bitcoins were way less than the current amount, the Bitcoin price would have been below 10K USD probably.
The demand for BTC had dropped severely, due to panic and insecurity, but this will be temporary and I'm sure that another bull run will come after several months.
1854  Economy / Economics / Re: The end of the Pay to Play hype? on: May 18, 2022, 10:40:58 AM
The so called "play-to-earn" games can survive only, if they turn into pure Peer-to-peer gambling games.
The players bet some money, coins or tokens, play the game against each other and the winner takes it all. The creators of the game simply deduct some fees out of the bets, in order to maintain the game and make some profit. That's a somewhat sustainable business model.
All the mining, farming, "buy digital stuff to earn dividends" type of play-to-earn games are just ponzi schemes. They can't survive without an influx of new paying players, just like OP said.
The only thing, that's compelling about those P2E games is the "earn money while you play" concept. The games aren't entertaining or fun to play. They are really boring, but the players keep playing, because of the desire to make money.
1855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC is scarcer than gold. on: May 18, 2022, 04:39:51 AM
244,000 metric tons of gold has been discovered to date, 55,000 tons of gold are left.

But there is still a lot of gold left in the universe. There is gold on asteroids for example. One day these will be minable. So the gold supply is not as limited as some may think.

Yeah, one day it will be mineable. Probably after a thousand years. Grin
After several centuries, the people will have so advanced technologies, that they won't be needing precious metals like gold and silver anymore.
Mining gold will become pointless, because gold will become cheap or worthless. Mining gold on asteroids and other planets will be 100 times more expensive, which would mean 100 times more pointless.

Quote
However, gold is hard to move around, weighs a lot, it's hard to sell or buy, it's not practicable.

Gold is hard to move around, if you want to move a ton. Moving small parts of gold isn't a problem for anyone.

Quote
With BTC it's another story. We all know there are only 21,000,000 coins and 3-4 millions are already lost forever.

There is no Bitcoin in the whole Universe, except on Planet Earth.

BTC is scarcer than gold. I think one day 1 BTC will enter the $xxx, xxx zone then the $x,xxx, xxx HODL BTC

Utility and demand are as important as scarcity(or maybe even more important).
You can have a scarce resource/asset, but if this asset is useless and has zero demand, the value/price would still be zero. Scarcity doesn't matter in that case.
1856  Economy / Speculation / Re: What was the most deceitful speculation you ever fell for on: May 17, 2022, 11:04:52 AM
I have never fallen into any deceitful speculation in my life. Maybe I'm pretty skeptical about everything and everyone.
I remember some guy writing about Ethereum hitting a 10K USD price a few years ago. I kinda believed him for a while, but I changed my mind pretty fast.Back in 2017-2018 I believed that the GRAFT coin project will have a great future and the Graft coin will increase it's price.
Right now,the GRAFT coin is a dead shitcoin with a 1K USD market cap,AFAIK. I'm glad that I haven't bought any GRAFT coins. Grin

Someone telling you a shitcoin is going to pump to an arbitrary price is not a speculation, it is manipulation to create a pump so that they can sell their bags and get some of the money they've lost due to the previous dumps back.

As for bitcoin, if you are buying it so that it reaches X dollars after Y days then you are already doing it wrong and you are deceiving yourself.

Aren't speculation and manipulation basically the same thing?Creating hype and demand about a financial asset and selling pieces of that asset at a higher price after a certain time frame.Manipulation is deceiving, isn't speculation deceiving as well?
1857  Economy / Economics / Re: Buy? . . . Nah, hang on a minute. on: May 17, 2022, 10:37:50 AM
Damn,OP.Your clickbait forum thread title made me think that you are going to share some thought provoking discovery about crypto trading.
Unfortunately ,you just shared the most generic "common sense" advise in the history of finance:
1.Buy low,sell high.
2.Invest only what you can afford to lose.(Not many people are actually following this rule, though).
3.Risk management is important.
Your post has no value and I guess that you just wanted to boost your post count.
The "buy low, sell high" advise actually works 100% of the time, but you have to resist the panic and the desire to sell, when the price drops.
Trading is about controlling your emotions and not falling into the conformism and crowd mentality of the markets.

1858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: May 17, 2022, 05:18:36 AM
Juventus will play in the next season of the Champions League, but I don't think that they can achieve anything there.
Dybala was a really important player for Juventus and I have no idea who is going to replace him.
I don't understand why the big Italian teams are transferring players between each other.Dybala could weaken Juventus and make Inter stronger.
Selling players to your competitors seems like a dumb idea.Couldn't they just sell Dybala to a non-Italian team?
Chiellini is retiring and Bonucci is too old.Juventus needs young defenders, which means that they won't be so experienced, which means Juventus will have problems in their defense for the next season.
Anyway,AC Milan is just one point away from winning Serie A.I wish them good luck. That would be a great achievement, after all those years of mediocrity and financial problems.
1859  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you knew the founder of Bitcoin, would you still use it? on: May 17, 2022, 04:54:49 AM
Satoshi Nakamoto doesn't have control over the Bitcoin Core blockchain,so your question is irrelevant. He isn't a CEO of a corporation.
The personality of Satoshi Nakamoto doesn't matter. What truly matters is the Bitcoin protocol and the Bitcoin community of developers, miners and regular users.Even if Satoshi sells all his BTC(which is highly unlikely to happen),the Bitcoin price would just drop for a while and recover afterwards.Dan Pena is a ridiculous online "guru" scammer.I couldn't care less about his opinions.I'm pretty sure that he doesn't understand how Bitcoin/blockchain technology works and he thinks that Bitcoin is some kind of weird "high tech" corporation.
1860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The meaningful shift from Bitcoin maximalism to Bitcoin realism on: May 16, 2022, 10:34:58 AM
I'm a Bitcoin maximalist, because I think that Bitcoin is better than all the altcoins, tokens, shitcoins, etc.
I'm also a Bitcoin realist, because I realize that Bitcoin cannot dethrone the fiat financial system and cannot serve as a safe heaven, inflation protection tool(at least not in the short term). This makes me both a maximalist and a realist,I guess. Grin
Stablecoins come and go(the algorithmic stablecoin, created by Terra Labs is just an example),Bitcoin Core is here to stay.
Futures are being used as a financial derivative in all the other financial markets-stocks,commodities,indexes,etc.
I've never heard someone on the stock markets to complain about futures/options trading to push the stock prices down.
