18421  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: KnC Neptune Fire hazard warning on: March 09, 2015, 02:20:53 AM
I know this is an old thread but locally there is an individual getting rid of some Neptunes for cheap.

From what I can tell the source of the melting and fires is NOT related to pulling 300Watts from the 3 +12V wires but from the single terminal correct?

Because there are many GPUs which use >300+ Watts and many power supplies which have split PCIe such as pictured below.

So it means that specifications mean that each yellow +12V wire can carry about 100Watts.

But most GPUs have more than one PCIe connector. So if its drawing 300Watts, then 150Watts come out of each terminal since there are 2.

But with the Neptune, its using 300Watts but there is only 1 6pin pcie connector.

So is there anyway to upgrade the PCIe connector terminal to a higher quality? Since you can easily solder the current one out, or can you someone find room to solder in parallel another PCIe terminal ?
18422  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: *** GHash.IO mining pool official page *** on: March 09, 2015, 12:40:14 AM
I didn't have payout problems at this pool but I had very bad luck. Either when mining LTC or BTC. So I stopped using it. No idea why they are so big.

If they did not make any money, why did they not just change the business plan?

When I was still playing there, I told him to start a referral campaign, so that it would grow bigger... he always said, "it's coming" .. now it's gone.

He could also have placed some ad's on the site to cover his hosting costs.

Someone possibly got a way to cheat and emptied his bankroll? Things like that happen, and then the site close like that without notice.  Sad {Even then, he could still get investors to fund it and close the holes}

I agree.

I actually wanted to help him with a signature campaign, he said he would start one but he paid only like 1 user for 1 week and then stopped.

And I agree with you either there was a hacker, cheater, or someone really lucky who just empied the sites bankroll. Either way I say the failure was due to lack of advertisement.

Now even if he comes back, there will be absolutely no trust.
18424  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 12 ASICMiner Tube 800 GH miners - 1 free controller for every 2 tubes on: March 09, 2015, 12:28:41 AM
I am confused.

I never heard of this miner, so is it

12 miners producing 800Gh/s in total for $250

or

1 miner each producing 800Gh/s so total 9.6Th/s for $250 ?

This is either a very very good deal or a very very bad deal.
18425  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 66 Antminer S3 miners in Canada on: March 09, 2015, 12:23:19 AM
Your best bet is to just post this on Kijiji. You won't get any high bidders because CanadaPost overcharges on shipping and most buyers won't want to pay that ontop of the purchase price.

18426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: March 08, 2015, 11:28:21 PM
The lawyer is most likely a scammer just hoping to make money from individuals because the case most likely will be a loss.

If the lawyer is confident then he will work for free and if he wins he gets to keep 30%.

If the lawyer isn't confident then he should just charge an hourly fee and if he wins, he just gets his hourly rate. And the clients get to keep 100%.

This litigation makes no sense in my opinion.

Cannot believe these guys could be scamming! This was such a great game.... next to MoneyPot one of my best sites.

The game play was solid and the concept unique.....

Has anyone got any news on what happened with the site? The error does not make sense at all...... Anyone?

Yes I agree they were both very well designed sites but I think the issue was that he wasn't making any money on the sites.

I think one of the reasons was the lack of advertisements. Maybe he just lost interest but would of been good if he just refunded everybodies money.
18428  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Most Popular & Trusted Bitcoin Game | Huge Community | Free BTC on: March 08, 2015, 10:02:51 AM
anyone got really frustrated playing this game?

My strategy was autobetting, 65% winning chance, multiply base bet by 190% on every losing bet.
I hit the losing 35% 9-times in a row losing everything... in 4 different rounds/games! You know what the chances are for that? 0.35^9 = 0.00007881563 or 0.0078% of getting the losing 35% in a row...

I don't know about you, and I'll be glad to take this post off if admin wants... it is a referral, so take off the end bit if you don't trust me.

You do the tasks and get rewarded. Lowest is 20-bits (or 2000 satoshis). Some longer tasks (can be done in 3 minutes) pays 200-bits (or 20000 satoshis).
I've been getting paid pretty promptly. At exactly 9:56pm each night (PST). No transaction fees.

Right now PrimeDice gives 200 satoshis if you start from 0. But transaction fee is 0.00010000. Going from 200 satoshis to 10000 just to pay transaction... my word... good luck...

Yes don't be surprised why they are doing this. Its not on purpose its for a reason.

Sorry for your loss and frustration.

Yeah it was a buyers market back on January 19th when it hit $160 or so right now all the miners are getting snatched up.

18430  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: March 08, 2015, 09:38:49 AM
...the knc Jupiter you see in the pics is already a door stop...

So many turned-off miners everywhere. I don't understand why you people are not selling this turned-off hardware, there are places with some dirt-cheap electricity who will surely be interested, it's a shame all that hashing power to be off when it can be of use to the network. The electricity price and difficulty very, very likely will not go down enough for this hardware to be turned on again at their current locations, so selling is a gain for everyone, or I'm missing something?

Yes I picked up a few Jupiters myself. One mans trash is another mans treasure.

For some of the regulars on this site.  How many seconds after you send your BTC does the bet start? Just want to find out the lag times.

Would really help if there was an online wallet.
18432  Economy / Gambling / Re: BinaryBase.co | Binary Options | 100% First Deposit Bonus on: March 07, 2015, 10:51:22 AM
Another scam in the bitcoin world. Honestly of all these sites i thought secondstrade was the most likely to bolt. Turns out I was wrong. Well shit, sorry for whoever lost coins on this.

Yes I agree big or small like (AMHASH or BinaryBase) they all end up scamming us in the end with their greed. Not our fault BTC was $1000 a year ago and $250 today.

18433  Economy / Gambling / Re: LiberOptions - Binary Options trading with Bitcoin on: March 07, 2015, 10:50:02 AM
Where do you gets your quotes from? Which API do you use?

Stop avoiding the question. I know there are hundreds of markets for currencies but they all pretty much have the same price, so which feed do you use?

If you don't provide this in public people will just use your competitors sites.

18434  Economy / Goods / Re: Iphone 4 32GB Black Icloud Locked on: March 07, 2015, 04:45:51 AM
That tool is a scam.
Do you have any proof or reference for this claim or is this just your personal opinion?
Even if there was a tool to bypass you wouldn't be able to use the phone to make any actual phone calls because the activation would of been invalid.
What are you talking about? The tool imitates the Apple servers and lets you deactivate the
"locate my iphone"̀-feature. Then you can reset it to factory settings. Activation is then a different topic..

Dude, the tool doesn't work.

If it worked people wouldn't be paying $200 to deactivate this feature.

You can only deactive the feature if its NOT listed as lost/stolen, only can deactivate if the previous owner forgot to sign out. Either way price is $150-$200 so only worth if it you bought an iphone 6 and the owner forgot to sign out.

I haven't had time to read the entire AMHASH catastrophee but can somebody sum up what happened exactly?

Their large cloud mining shut off and thats the reason why the hashrate is low this week?
18439  Economy / Securities / ASICMiner - Can anyone provide a simple summary of what happened? on: March 06, 2015, 10:58:33 PM
There is basically probably a dozen threads about this and about 2000 pages combined of reading. Can somebody in a few points summary what exactly happened with this company?

All I can tell is simply that.

-FriedCat Disappeared about a month ago with investors money

18440  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: any mining succeess stories so far? on: March 06, 2015, 08:47:21 PM
I started in late January 2014 with GPU mining. Basically the worse time to start mining. I was suppose to have an ROI of 1.5 months which turned into 6 months. Still have the equipment making me like $1 a day.

Had better success recently with buying used ASICs. Bought a used S3+ and took about a month to ROI.
