1861  Economy / Economics / Re: CEO of Bitcoin Startups Listed on the Forbes Top Ten Richest People In the World on: September 30, 2015, 06:29:21 AM
When will we can see the world richest people in the world listing the CEO of a bitcoin startup...and could be this will happen? and how many years later it will be a reallity?

For sure it will be one someday. As for me bitcoin has a future. And I hope a brilliant future. More that can be imagine from everyone of us which discuss about it. But for the time which can be possible no one can know. There to many unknown factors from which this depends. Make predictions without data and without analysis in not mine so I cannot answer to this question. I cannot do neither any analysis because is impossible. I can tell one factor which is important for the given question. The rules that every Central bank must create to legalize bitcoin. Without those cannot exist any startup and CEO of those. Most of the countries today ignore bitcoin. For what rules can (may) we speak? Or when (in which time) they will be live with bitcoin? Or that, that only in 30 countries of the world (in about 200 which are in all those) is legal. You can find yourself the answer.
1862  Economy / Economics / Re: Greek Plan Accepts Austerity to Get Debt Relief on: September 30, 2015, 06:20:03 AM
This was inevitable. Even the cleanly demagogy of Tsipras cannot impede this. It have no sense to be forgotten the money borrowed to the Greeks. There are no reason to do this. Tsipras must thanks to many times all the European countries which after its dirty behavior (on the one hand was in talking with European countries and on the other declares the referendum inviting his people to reject the agreement for which he was in discussion with them) accepted again to speak with him and to give other money that Greece have the possibility to go ahead and to try to go out from the crisis. Seeing its behavior and the behavior of most of the Greeks I doubt that this can be true in the nearest times. but who knows. Maybe some day in Greece emerge in Grace a fair politician, leader politician which can lead his people without demagogy towards the welfare based in the honest work and not in that with credits and with the money of the others.
1863  Economy / Economics / Re: How many coins would a digi. currency need when it is used worldwide by eveyone? on: September 30, 2015, 06:07:29 AM
Question without answer in a certain meaning. In the meaning that never will be possible to know it for the all the world. It is only one way but even this may not be true because to many countries lies with their data.

Normally would be the sum of the price of all the goods in the market in all the world in one given moment. But in the other one the goods will change (maybe price, maybe amount, maybe variety) and new goods may be in the market. Even not maybe but for sure. So the amount needed need to be changed.

Normally within one nation are predictions that predict the amount of currency in the market in with those are occupied the economist. And are the monetary policies (applied by them) which determines the amount of currencies in a certain period in a country. To speak about those is not easy and cannot be a post that can be enough for that. If you want to learn a little more you can read this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money_supply

1865  Economy / Economics / Re: What is bitcoin backed by? My favorite answers on: September 30, 2015, 05:47:45 AM
Bitcoin in backed primarily by its quality (what derives from the quality which have the technology from which it was invented) and is the peer to peer. In other words bitcoin is an currency which is the materialization of one concept which allow to exclude one third part in one communication between two sources. This is an extraordinary achievement. Then is backed by the passion, interest, curiosity and faith as a new kind of currency by the people.

I don't trust all these HYIP websites and I'm looking for a more reliable way to invest.
Any suggestions?
Not much bitcoin investment is legit, many company end with scam. maybe you can try invest in gambling site like dice site

First of all gambling spend money and don't give money. To gamble you must spend. But is this not the problem. It is the advice. It is the worst advice that can be given. It is the worst way to use your money. I don't understand how can be possible to invest in dice site. Only to play in it. And if you will play one day for sure you will lose all your money.

If you have time, have ideas, are expert in something connected with bitcoin, you can earn some bitcoins join signature campaigns. Go to the section "services" of this forum and there you can find to many sites which pay if you put their publicity as a signature in your profile. The bitcoin earned are few but not nothing. You must have fun doing posts and read the posts of the others to discuss about the matters they write otherwise you will find very hard to do this "job".

This is not an investment or a way to invest but a way to learn more about bitcoin and to earn some bitcoin. Maybe you can have interest about it in the free time.
1868  Economy / Economics / Re: Did Bitcoin Ruin Your Life, Or Help Your Life? on: September 29, 2015, 07:41:06 PM
Neither the first and nor the second one. Bitcoin is important for me but is excessive to pretend those qualities from it for my life. But if it will be possible to happen one of both qualities, probably will be the second one. This can be verified if some day, in some way, I will have (legitimately  Wink) a big amount of bitcoins. And since I believe that one day (I don't know when) the price of bitcoin will go very high, this will help to much my life.

While I don't see in which way bitcoin can ruin my life. I hate the gambling (which "eat" money) and I don't know other way how to spend those (if I would have). I don't know even other ways in which bitcoin can be ruin the life except the gambling. So no possibility to ruin my life from bitcoin.
1869  Economy / Economics / Re: What's your guess on the price of bitcoin for Jan 2016 and July 2016? on: September 29, 2015, 07:12:56 PM
Yes I agree, but if Apple launches the iCoin tomorrow Bitcoin is doomed. Well you get the idea, if an "official" currency is created by a powerful player and goes mainstream Bitcoin will be instantly the new Litecoin and eventually die or remain an alternative to pay for drugs...

I don't think so. Apple has its followers that are to many. Maybe from all over the world But I think that are not never more than the bitcoiners which are followers of this coin since its creations. There are 6 years that bitcoin exist. The iCoin of Apple need 6 years to arrive bitcoin.

But even without this thought, that might not be true, I don't think that the followers of Apple are more than the followers of bitcoin (which will not abandon it, I think). This is only a feeling and I have no data about this. If will happen we will see.

Allright but it's not a matter of followers or not (this isn't a religion or twitter) it's a matter of accessibility and easyness of use. The iCoin will definitely be fool proof simple to use, no scanning barcodes, no impossible to remember addresses, refunds, etc.

It is not a religion but a passion yes. And this is not few. And the most used from all the other coins. Even from big "lions" of market like Microsoft or Dell. But I agree with you. If the new coin will be more competitive for sure will be used more. As I told in my post I don't have knowledge about the new coin.
1870  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Debit Card | BIT-X.com | Anonymous or Named | Low Fees! on: September 29, 2015, 07:07:36 PM
Can you please explain what kind of fee is this? What does it mean? I don't understand it:

Thanks!

This is the ATM fee for Anonymous Limited cards. It is a flat fee in the currency of your card (EUR or USD).

Yet I am not clear. I wanted to know if it is a fee that is taken every time I withdraw money from any ATM or is taken only one time when I will take the card.

It's the ATM fee, taken each time you withdraw from the ATM. 9.95 is only the fee for Anonymous Limited cards (which need no verification). It reduces to 4.95 for Anonymous cards (once basic verification is passed) and Named cards. Named white cards have the lowest ATM fee, 3.95. Hope that makes sense Smiley

Now everything is clear. I can have only the first of cards. My country enter in the group in which can be taken only these cards. This fee is to high for me. I have not continuous and big earnings in bitcoin to withstand this fee. Hope to be able to use it in the future. So to have big earnings in bitcoin.  Smiley
1871  Economy / Economics / Re: pump and dump on: September 29, 2015, 07:01:18 PM

Really a good idea. I haven't thought it. But I have some questions. Are you sure that the market can afford such transaction? Are in market so many bitcoins? And it will be possible to buy all those immediately? And to sell those immediately? Because if bought or sold gradually the price will increase gradually and will decrease also gradually and this set in doubt the profit.

If you ask to those questions maybe I will do another post.

Are you sure that the market can afford such transaction?

To be effective in pump and dumps, people involved should carefully study if there are liquidity/money flowing in and out of that certain market and are there really people interested in that certain market. You just can't throw in a large chunk of money with a market that has no activity and expect to get a huge return from it.

Are in market so many bitcoins?

It is safe to say that not all the bitcoins in existence are being actively traded in the markets, given that a large portion of it has remained untouched for several years now, including those coins that belong to Satoshi and other isolated cases in which coins were lost because of forgotten passphrases/passwords. To get a hint of how many bitcoins are being traded, check the different exchanges and add up all their volume in terms of BTC. That would give you a rough estimate of how many coins are in the markets.

And it will be possible to buy all those immediately?

No, it wouldn't be possible. A good trader knows how to build up price and get others aboard the train. If he/she just randomly picks a coin and throw in large amounts of money in it to have a massive boost in price, you shouldn't expect people to follow suit, because the massive price increase is clearly a sign of someone manipulating and playing with the markets.

And to sell those immediately?

No. Refer to the answer above.

Thanks for the explanations. Are logical, complete and helpful for someone who have in mind to do this transaction. Some of you answers was imagined (knew) by me (the last two). But it was my curiosity for the answer of the OP who made me wrote those. Me for sure don't have (had) in mind to do such transaction. If I had those money wouldn't stay in front of my computer all the day but will do even some other things (more diverse).  Wink

Since I like your post I want to know your thoughts (if you want to do this naturally) for another my post. You can find that here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1191118.0

1873  Economy / Services / Re: [BIT-X.com] OPEN SPOTS Earn Bitcoins by Posting | Signature Campaign on: September 29, 2015, 05:11:24 PM
I am Hero Member from this moment. I must change my signature (from Senior to Hero) immediately or I must wait that pass the first week? Thanks!

Change it now  , this week you will continue to get paid as Senior member rates but once you get your payout , your rates will be for Hero member . means from the next week .

I would do with pleasure this but must be Marco who must tell this. In this way can be official. Then, I think that if I change signature of the bot immediately the bot will do the payment of the new signature and not the old one. So the posts that I will made since this moment will be paid with the rates of the Hero and not with the rate of Senior. For this reason needed to know what will tell Marco.

1875  Economy / Economics / Re: Vietnam – One of the Most Dynamic Economies in Southeast Asia on: September 29, 2015, 04:36:43 PM
The main purpose of existing of this forum is to talk and discuss about bitcoin and everything which can be correlated with it. So, your post to write for the economy of Vietnam is inappropriate. It have meaning only if we talk about the correlation of this economy with bitcoin. In this direction we can say that bitcoin is banned in Vietnam since February, 2014 by the State Bank of Vietnam.

This kind of behavior have nothing to do with power of the economy Vietnam. Since Vietnam have fear from bitcoin (otherwise haven't banned it) is a poor and weak economy which have fear for something that is yet child and is own by no one.
1876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Realistically does bitcoin have any competition ? on: September 29, 2015, 04:27:24 PM
Bitcoin never felt having any competition, but I think the governments and the banks do. Thats why they always trying to compete bitcoin with creating their own cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.

Banks view bitcoins as threat to the fiat currency, if we look at the present scenario than bitcoins doesn't have any competition but the things would not be the same in the future, bitcoins will definitely face some competition from new currencies in the future and the fact is that bitcoin can never replace a major currency it would be used only as a secondary currency.

I agree with you. Bitcoin cannot be made as the first currency in any country for to many reasons. But can bitcoin becomes first world currency? What do you think about this? Can you comment the ideas that you can find in this below thread?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1191118.0

I would thank you very much if you will write your comments after the reading.
1877  Economy / Economics / Re: pump and dump on: September 29, 2015, 04:06:21 PM
I know this might be a bad thing for bitcoin but i am really curious to know why don't rich people buy like 10 million $ worth of bitcoin, then the price will automatically go up and sell those bitcoin instantly? even if the price only rise by 5 % that's 500 000 $ profit in just a matter of minutes

also with altcoins that have an even lower marketcap this would work even better,so why dont we see big money players pumping and dumping?

Really a good idea. I haven't thought it. But I have some questions. Are you sure that the market can afford such transaction? Are in market so many bitcoins? 1878  Economy / Economics / Re: Gambling - A Factor in Increase/Decrease of BTC Price on: September 29, 2015, 03:56:29 PM
I had been searching around and understanding the bitcoin system and what i understood is that Bitcoin price depends totally upon a factor, Gambling:

Gambling:
Gambling is the well known way to recognize bitcoins too as now days, Bitcoins are used to gamble as its anonymous and secure.
How price rises due to Gambling? -
To gamble you need coins, mostly users buy coins and more and more buying = more price of Bitcoins. So, Indirectly Loosing in Gambling can lead to price increase. More user looses, More price of the Bitcoin.
How price decreases due to Gambling? -
When a user wins alot, he usually converts Bitcoins to his currency which affects the price of Bitcoins.. WHich means if a user sells, the price will reduce and like wise 100 BTC sold, the price will be lowered by -1BTC current price out of 100 BTC.

What you guys thinks about it?

I wanted to know only if what you have understood is based to some real data or is only a feeling or sensation become from some your yesterday wonder or from your discussion the day before yesterday with your girlfriend.

Seriously: Have you really read something about this? What kind of search have you made? Can you show some title of speeches or any kind of materials you have consulted? It is very interesting find from what depends the change of bitcoin with the other currencies. It will be a surprise for me if the gambling will be this reason, but, if it will be true, the facts cannot be denied and I must renounce from my convictions.
1879  Economy / Economics / Re: Ending debt slavery - This is why Bitcoin exists and it's begun. on: September 29, 2015, 03:31:10 PM
This statement from Varoufakis the now former Greek finance minister is brave and clearly illustrates what's really happening in the world.

The referendum of 5th July will stay in history as a unique moment when a small European nation rose up against debt-bondage.

Quote
The referendum of 5th July will stay in history as a unique moment when a small European nation rose up against debt-bondage.

Like all struggles for democratic rights, so too this historic rejection of the Eurogroup’s 25th June ultimatum comes with a large price tag attached. It is, therefore, essential that the great capital bestowed upon our government by the splendid NO vote be invested immediately into a YES to a proper resolution – to an agreement that involves debt restructuring, less austerity, redistribution in favour of the needy, and real reforms.

Soon after the announcement of the referendum results, I was made aware of a certain preference by some Eurogroup participants, and assorted ‘partners’, for my… ‘absence’ from its meetings; an idea that the Prime Minister judged to be potentially helpful to him in reaching an agreement. For this reason I am leaving the Ministry of Finance today.

I consider it my duty to help Alexis Tsipras exploit, as he sees fit, the capital that the Greek people granted us through yesterday’s referendum.

And I shall wear the creditors’ loathing with pride.

We of the Left know how to act collectively with no care for the privileges of office. I shall support fully Prime Minister Tsipras, the new Minister of Finance, and our government.

The superhuman effort to honour the brave people of Greece, and the famous OXI (NO) that they granted to democrats the world over, is just beginning.

Would you look at that, the world does have some intelligent beings after all.

This is why Bitcoin was created.

The most stupidity that an human being can do is to connect the "intelligence" of one speech or something like that of Varoufakis which have as a principal purpose of his life the excessive preoccupation with or admiration of oneself with the intelligence of Satoshi Nakamoto which it has created one of most wonderful invention of century and is so modest as to be disappeared and to not enjoy the deserved merits of its invention.

The narcissism of Varoufakis go over everything and first of all is showed with its behavior with all the European leaders in all they meetings. Even he is a poor debtor. No other merits is known as a foreign minister. But he want world recognition. So must be unique in its words with them. Such he was. For something which a shame for its country. To not get back the money taken from the others.

Satoshi Nakamoto has created something that has passionate all the world and find followers and enthusiast every new day which pass. And yet he remain in silence and in anonymity. Who can imagine the honors that he will and can receive from everyone if will be shown? Yet him remain hidden.

Can everyone who will read this post the stupidity of this comparison?

And then the other shame. The title of "the speech" of Varoufakis with capital letters. The glory of something dirty and shameful. Glory to one people that vote to not give back the money to the owners. Money that made them rich and doing "la bella vita" without working and without doing nothing.

I have no other words for this thread.
1880  Economy / Economics / Re: Bad days ahead for the European single currency on: September 29, 2015, 03:02:26 PM
I can't understand why the Greeks are so awful. They had their referendum last Sunday, the whole of Europe was waiting for them to go back to the negotiating table on Monday, but they waited till this late evening to show some proposals. 5 months of bargaining already, and this isn't over, they just made us wait another 4 days. They want a debt reduction? A haircut as some people like to say, I suggest they'll get one, a small one, on the very condition they leave the European Union for good.

The European people and the European currency would be better without them.

Now everything is gone (almost for the moment) so don't exist more such risks for the euro but the if Greece or some other country of Eurozone will go out of European countries which use euro as their currency, euro will suffer to much. It were be in discussion even its existence. Were and yet are to many the articles in internet that explain in details this event. In this point of view I think that if Greece would be already out of Eurozone the value of euro will be decreased, notably with the main currencies (such us dollar, British pound, Swiss franc and Japanese yen). As for being better without Greece I have my doubt. Even I am very critic with them about to many things and with their behavior in these times.
