i have struggled with wither or not this thread should get locked. And as annoying as it may seem. it seems refreshing to know everything is out in the open. if people are serious long term smart investors they wont invest via Trolls dribble or flag barers or pump n dampers. they will do market segment research. i believe we are in a far better position now then May. We need to stay on message and ask tough questions help come up with solutions if need be and more importantly now concentrate on rebuilding our community.
Agreed. Everything has always been open (except a small chunk of the code, for obvious reasons, but that will be opened too when it's ready) and that's the way it should stay. I'm not sure the community needs rebuilding so much as just expanding - we're all still here because we believe financial privacy is important and DRK is currently the best solution. There's a depth of talent working on DRK that is quite remarkable. |

One of the things I really liked about my brief sojourn in the NXT thread a month ago while I was playing with NXT assets was that nobody cared about the price, they were just getting on with building cool stuff. Admittedly, cool stuff that nobody else understood, but it was such a pleasant change from the constant price-related whining that goes on in here. I'm pretty sure many of those big dumps were real. At least the last one to .006 on mintpal. A 5k wall showed before the dump which proves my theory that altcoin markets are scams. It was probably the market maker ( The Biggest Whale, owner of those annoying bots, pumper ) that got information that 4k drk's arrived on the exchange. So he wanted to spook him to quickly dump and it happened. But how did he know that those coins hit the exchange?!? Mintpal is a fucking scam operation, transfers should be confidential. But I bet other trading centers for altcoins are no better. Making special deals with market makers in return for volume fees.
Probably noone will believe me, people are so gullible thinking this markets is a fair game for little fish...
No you are quite correct, Mintpal is as crooked as the day is long, and Cryptsy is the same with added incompetence. Poloniex and BTC-e are so obviously on the take it's a joke, but they lack the skills/resources for really high-tech shennanigans. Bitfinex is the only one that isn't blatantly bent, but just because it isn't obvious... |

These motherfuckers are acting smart.
I just watched in progress what's happening on cryptsy.
1) The bot is detecting the lowest selling current price.
2) It is trying to manipulate by putting the price even lower - just for 10-15 seconds. If no one is selling even lower, it takes the order away.
3) Then it waits for 5-7 seconds, and tries dumping again - trying to provoke someone watching it to sell even cheaper than itself. As soon as it happens - it puts the lowest price again, and repeats the algo. Basing upon people who hesitate and panic, it gradually dumps the price.
LUL.
Ask yourself why they are doing that... Nobody goes to the effort of running bots out of malice, but greed is another story. Anonymous trustless ecash is here, the smart are hoovering it up on the cheap. |

Lets first optimize the wallet messaging display. The fact that people think theyre experiencing bugs while theyre not means that there is some work to do in messaging etc. Simplicity and clarity is critical.
Yeah, it's time to abandon the format of the existing wallet, which was never exactly a masterpiece anyway. If your UI needs more that one screen or tab for Joe Average to do what he needs then you've failed to design it properly. Have a User Wallet, and a separate MN/Dev/Expert Wallet. It's not hard, I've already built my own, although I can't do DS+ related stuff yet as that's not public. And the expert wallet doesn't need to be pretty, expert users don't care about that crap. |

But their 'bought' marketplace is essentially integrated in the blockchain, no?
that doesn't mean that other markets won't accept it, it's just an extra feature of the coin i guess.
I think it would just give the adoption a boost, since all holders and believers of the coin will start using this decentralised marketplace to sell their goods/services or whatever for their preferred coin.

I would find it hard to believe that the creator of the currency and of the decentralised marketplace could be held responsible if illegal goods would be sold/bought there.

Consider the integration of ebay and paypal - it's horrible for their customers, just makes it too easy to fleece people with hideous fees. Competition is a good thing. edit, regarding bolded part: good luck trying to sell anything 'dark' (for want of a better word, you know what I mean) on ebay. There's a reason they wont let you - they'd get a fuckton of legal shit dropped on them in short order and wind up behind bars. |

From what I read, I thought openbazaar was supposed to be decentralized? Either way, I think it's more of a liability to have a market integrated directly into a currency's client. An anonymous currency on its own cannot be held responsible for illegal activity that involves its use. Couldn't say the same if people started listing drugs on the integrated market.

Markets should remain strictly 3rd party. +1 Having said that, I still think providing some sort of 'Masternode API' to allow people to more easily utilise the MN infrastrucure is a good idea, but that could take any number of forms and it depends what Evan has up his sleeves. |
