https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Transferts-lionel-messi-attendu-par-le-psg-ce-dimanche/1277209

L'Equipe says that Lionel Messi is scheduled to have a medical on Monday morning before his transfer is completed to PSG. Then, it seems like we can say that Messi is officially a PSG player now. Because there are many sources claiming Messi's transfer to PSG is already done. It'll be nice to see him there I hope.

The news about his medical with PSG came out yesterday shortly after his goodbye session in Barcelona. Although the deal hasn't been completed yet but there's a very good chance it will since PSG is like the only team that would be able to afford him. I think Messi would do very well in PSG once the deal gets completed because he would be playing alongside some of the best players in Europe and he'll have his former teammate, Neymar by his side.
As far as I know, these rumors about Messi's arrival in Paris and the subsequent medical examination were not confirmed and Messi continues to stay at home in Barcelona and there was even a photo from there where the resting football player is depicted. It seems that the discussion of the latest details continues and the stumbling block is now deductions for the use of image rights. Since Lionel agreed to a smaller amount of personal contact, he would like to receive more deductions for other points of the contract instead. The most important thing is not to repeat the situation with the contract with Barcelona, when the parties have not found mutual understanding with each other  Wink However, I don't see any other team from big clubs in the current conditions that could offer better conditions and a consensus should be found in any case.

I do not think that Kane is leaving anywhere, the only big spender that was interested in him was Chelsea, and now that they are getting Lukaku I do not think that anyone would be willing to pay 100+ million for Kane now, at least not right now, maybe when his price drops with age.
Chelsea really wanted 3 strikers this off-season and 2 of them didn't happen because of money reasons, first it was Haaland and Chelsea offered as much as 150 million, which is insane to think about, but Dortmund wanted 174 million whereas Chelsea had 100+ 50 mil in installments type of thing in mind. Then it was Kane which they didn't really want to spend that much, he is great but a bit older, so that didn't work out neither. Now they are getting Lukaku. If Chelsea is off the market, then who would spend 100+ million on Kane? I do not think that anyone even has that money left.
Actually, Manchester City showed the most specific interest in Kane by making an official offer, but as far as I understand, everything rests on the position of the club owner, who does not want to sell the player. After it became known that Kane is starting training, it seems that the transfer situation no longer looks obvious, I still would not completely deny this transfer. Because the head coach of Tottenham, Nuno Espirito Santo, did not seem to specifically answer the question about Kane's participation in the first round game just against Manchester City and said that all the players who work in the team every day are possible options. Therefore, there are still quite possible options.

I read that Edin Dzeko could be Lukaku's replacement. Inter reached an agreement with the player (two-year, six million euro per season) and aim to close the deal by Wednesday, in order to give Inzaghi a striker for the season.
Nerazzurri are only waiting for Roma's okay while the romans also search for a replacement.
Really? I don't think it's a good idea to be honest. But it's their choice in the end. The reason why I think in that way is that Lukaku is much more qualified striker than Dzeko. He is much younger too. And I don't even want to talk about the difference between the values of both of these players. It looks like Inter will have around £100m from Lukaku transfer. So, if I were Inter manager, I would definitely go for much better strikers. Because I'm not sure whether Dzeko would be able to fill Lukaku's place nicely.
It all depends on the model of team play in the new season and it may really come out that Dzeko will be at least as good as Lukaku  Wink Inter, in case of successful completion of the transfer, Lukaku seems to receive 115 million euros and may well still buy players within this amount. As far as I know, Inter is interested in Anthony Martial from Manchester United and it seems that the club is ready to let the player go for 50 million euros. It also seems that Paris Saint-Germain rejected the idea of signing Pogba from the same Manchester United and there it was also about a similar amount, but I think the French player will demand a fairly inflated salary for Inter  Grin

I'm looking at the defending champions Lille still retaining the title. Contrary to public opinion, I don't think  Paris Saint-Germain  can take back the crown irrespective of their new sign-in. Truth be told PSG has a lot of star players like, goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma,  Georginio Wijnaldum, Sergio Ramos,  Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Angel di Maria. Yet, it has been said that a team full of stars doesn't actually make them champions. It takes more than that. On the other hand, although, Lille lost their goalkeeper Mike Maignan to AC Milan, they are still my best bet to win the league.
Let's not forget that PSG last season did not become the champion of the previous version of the squad. Of course, there are different cases and the known favorites with a stellar composition sometimes do not win, but still it seems that the chances of Paris Saint-Germain for the championship have increased compared to last year. Of course, any new team composition requires a certain teamwork and time, but I don't think that this will be a huge problem for PSG's star newcomers. I have another reasonable question about this, whether Mauricio Pochettino will be able to cope with so many stars, effectively manage them and build a successful team game.
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 09, 2021, 02:29:41 AM
I can only emphasize that it has both good sides. If he stayed it would have been cool in a certain way, but at the same time I would love to see him in another jersey and see him prove he can dominate in any league. So many people say that he can only dominate in Spain, but seriously, this guy was top scorer in the CL four years in a row, playing against the best of the best. He could have dominated any league, and he most likely is still able to do it for two years.
Yes
Yes what? Why are you writing only one word and post then go and edit your posts? You do this for a couple of weeks. If you don't finish your post you can use preview option and save it to your draft.

La Liga will be different without Messi for sure but maybe we can see it in a good way, some players have opportunity to show themselves because there won't be a point of main interest without Messi. We can see better performances from Puig, Pedri or Fati. I accept that this is a wishful thinking though.
I see Atletico as favorite again but I also expect championship race to run until last week. We can watch very similar season again. I don't think Real and Barca as favorites like old times. Hopefully we can watch more exciting La Liga even though the biggest players are already gone.
I will tell you a terrible secret, this is how I sometimes mark those posts that I want to leave a review for later. I sometimes have some problems with the Internet and equipment, so I act in a similar way that is convenient for me. Therefore, I ask you to treat my methods and problems with understanding and respond to a ready-made post, and not mock or mock my problems.

Real Madrid and Barcelona will still remain among the favorites and I would not hang championship medals on the necks of Atletico players in advance. We must remember how in the middle of the season Atletico had a break from their pursuers and with what difficulty they became champions in the end. In the end, only Messi left Barcelona and Ronald Koeman is not for nothing that they say that Barcelona should be able to play without Messi.
1866  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin doesn't care about Tesla and Amazon on: August 08, 2021, 11:59:10 PM
Yeah, Bitcoin price doesn't care much about Tesla or any other company now. It doesn't fluctuate too much like the old times when these companies make a statement like they are going to hold Bitcoin or to accept payments with Bitcoin. I like that the market is getting more resistant against these kind of manipulations.
It's not really manipulation.  The price is driven by individual investors who are trying to get rich or FOMOing in.  When a company would announce they were accepting bitcoin, the speculators would pile in hoping to make a quick buck on the hype of "mass adoption."  To the extent these types of things don't happen anymore, it's because it's just too big at this point.  "Adoption" isn't really a driving force anymore in the price because the speculators can't buy enough to meaningfully move the price.  It just takes too much money at this point.
It's just that a relatively calm time has come and investors have calmed down for now, because the big players themselves are tired of the frenzied volatility and decided to take a little break for now. But I assure you, this will not last very long and when some global financial or cryptocurrency events occur, the crypto market will not remain indifferent and a very cheerful autumn awaits us. It's just that when the market is inflated, there is a hysterical reaction to any event and the cryptocurrency market, due to its youth, is no exception. Therefore, I am not sure that the market has matured and become very stable, so future news from Tesla and Amazon will shake up the market more than once Wink
1867  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a speculative asset or as currency on: August 08, 2021, 11:45:29 PM
For me bitcoin is both because I am holding it for long term as an investment source and also want to use it as a currency when local stores near me start accepting bitcoin and then just by scanning qr code and with LN transactions can be made at ease. But for most of the people at this time bitcoin is being recognised as store of value and asset which can give high profits in the long run but with btc becoming mainstream it will be used as currency.
but this will not change the extension of bitcoin itself because bitcoin will still be an asset that is used for the long term. even though it is used for currency but this is only an alternative option and will forever be like that because basically even though here it is volatile, but this is what makes it more interesting and when you know more you will realize that this coin is valuable.
and when people start using it as a currency it can affect existing extensions because it will be much profitable if it is still used for future assets not as a currency
The use of bitcoin as a digital currency and as a means of saving are quite mutually exclusive concepts in modern conditions. Therefore, if we want bitcoin to become a digital currency in the classical sense of the meaning, then we should forget about the huge volatility and, accordingly, huge profitability, because this should not happen with a currency for mutual settlements. Therefore, we see at this stage that bitcoin is a speculative asset, which in its current state is quite satisfactory for both state authorities and investors. Therefore, even when bitcoin becomes mainstream, I am not sure that it will successfully embody both hypostases. As they say, either this or that.

I find it surprising that Mercedes doesn't even try to have a German driver.
But do they have a someone great in their academy right now ? I don't know why Mercedes doesn't have a german pilot but I know for sure they can't take Mick right now as he is destined to drive at Ferrari at some point.
Regarding Stroll to Mercedes ...that is not possible anymore as Aston Marton develops around him right now so he won't leave anytime soon or anytime at all.
Regarding Mick, yes it is a good "story" for him to drive Ferrari one day, but if Mercedes wants to, they could afford to get him whenever they want to, but Mercedes became a bit more "British" then German thanks to Lewis Hamilton, British people root for that team more than Germans at this point because of him, and they do not feel that need. Look at how George Russell is getting primed to race with Hamilton after Bottas is fired, that is two British drivers all together.
I honestly think that we should take that as a sign that Mercedes do not have any interest at Mick at all. If they however actually wanted him? They could have just paid him more money and get him anyway. Stroll's dad is very rich, it is not about Aston Martin being built around him, if Daddy Stroll paid Mercedes a ton of money, he could get him in there.
Mercedes in its current form is not a completely classic factory team. Toto Wolf has his own share of shares in the team and there are also British co-owners who also have a very big influence. If earlier Daimler owned 60 percent of the team, and Wolf had 30 percent, then in December 2020, the British chemical giant INEOS increased its share in the team and now each of the parties owns 33.3 percent. And the British co-owners came to the team precisely because of the presence of Lewis Hamilton in the team and they will certainly be happy if Russell comes to the team. And Mick Schumacher should continue to strive for Ferrari in the near future, because Mercedes ' immediate plans seem to be clearly planned.

https://sport.sky.it/calciomercato/2021/08/06/inter-zapata-dzeko-calciomercato-news
Sky Sport Italia claims that Inter are starting to make new plans considering the possibility that Romelu Lukaku could leave the team for Chelsea soon. They are targeting Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham (23), Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata (30) or Roma striker Edin Dzeko (35).
But I don't think that their targets are like this in such situation. Because just imagine that you have Lukaku at your team and you decide to sell him for more than €100m. Would you go for much worse strikers? Honestly, I wouldn't. Because it will definitely cause your team to weaken. And a team like Inter shouldn't even consider this.
Inter and the Chinese owners are facing a big financial crisis worsened by covid so even if they didn't admit it, they have to bring money to the club in any way so having such a good opportunity to sell Lukaku for that price shouldn't be missed. They are aware of the consequences and they will take the risk since there is no other choice. Coinlocket which is better involved in Italian clubs, already said that Inter failed to give Hakimi his salary for example...
Inter's main task now is to survive, at least to spend this season and stay afloat, so I don't see anything wrong with signing Dzeko. This player should strengthen the team for one season, and then it will be possible to talk about something long-term. Inter needs a player with a fairly high level here and now, and not some young promising player who will not give results now. For Inter in its current state, the cheaper the transfer of a player and his salary will be, the better. Although, of course, no one has canceled the sports component and these players should provide a decent level, and it is better if this level is worthy of the level of the leaders of the championship  Wink

Yes, I would also like to see Messi play in another championship and moving to the French league is quite the right decision, because Paris Saint-Germain with such a squad is easier to dominate in their league than if Messi moved to England, where the level of competition is higher. Therefore, the adaptation of Messi should be much easier and faster. The most important thing is that Messi does not get bored then ahead of time, as happened with Neymar  Grin Barcelona will face difficult times in the coming seasons, but I was in no hurry to discount the Catalan team. There should be enough resources and forces to fight in Spain  Wink

According to a French source, Lionel Messi has agreed a two-year deal with PSG already. It must be great news for Neymar especially. Because as far as I know, he has been wishing to reunite with Messi. And now his dreams have come true. When they were playing side by side at Barcelona, things were really great for both of them. There was a really good harmony between them. Messi was really happy to have Neymar alongside him. And this time, Messi will play alongside Mbappe also. This should be really exciting for all of these players.
It is not a fact about playing together with Mbappe, because there are two mutually exclusive options for the development of the situation on this occasion. According to one version, the arrival of the Messiah should push Mbappe to sign a new contract to participate in such a magnificent project. According to another version, on the contrary, the arrival of the Messiah will intensify Mbappe's efforts to move to Real Madrid, which the Madrid club would be very happy to contribute to. At least recently there was information that Real Madrid hopes that Paris Saint-Germain will offer to buy Mbappe himself after signing a contract with Messi. However, if anything, Madrid is ready to try again next summer.

Being Pep Guardiola, losing Messi by paying 117 million for Grealish and two days later you lose the Community Shield. Not the best way to start the season for Bep and Manchester City if you ask me.However it is a good thing that some other team was able to beat Manchester City which gives us hope that this year Premier League will be much better than the last one.
It just happened quite unexpectedly quickly and Manchester City simply wasn't ready for such a development of the situation, having already started other contract epics with Grealish and Kane. Although, of course, some time ago, both Guardiola and the management had in mind the possibility of signing a contract with Messi, but then they switched to more realistic goals in their opinion. I don't think Guardiola is very sad about the loss, because the battle is just beginning, although of course any title lifts the mood of the coach and the mood of the team. Guardiola is famous for the ability to decompose the team's game by distance, so this case is not indicative.
1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 08, 2021, 10:26:09 PM
It is weird for PSG to pay this much for Messi as well, nobody really talks about that part of the deal. I understand that getting Messi is a big deal for PSG and yes he is a great player but dude is 34 years old and they will be paying 40 million euro per year for a 34 year old. I get that he is probably the best 34 year old out there but still it is 34 years old. I think this could be a bit of a overpay by PSG, otherwise City could have gotten him as well, or even Barcelona could have kept him at the team as well, but because PSG paid soooo much more than what he should be paid, he went to PSG.
I honestly think that this is some sort of great deal for PSG only if they end up winning the league, the cup, and UCL all at the same time, if not then they are paying way too much for a failure.
Something similar was said when Ronaldo moved to Juventus, but the club quickly worked out a significant part only by selling T-shirts with the player's name. Also, let's not forget that Messi gets for Paris Saint-Germain for free. In any case, according to sources, Messi's father and agent has already received a copy of the proposed contract and is now studying it. There is also information that Paris Saint-Germain has already rented the Eiffel Tower on the night of August 10. Just the Eiffel Tower was used last time when there was a Presentation of Neymar. Also, the president of Barcelona has already announced that Messi will be at PSG, although sources say that Barcelona has filed a complaint about the conclusion of a contract with PSG to the European Commission.

The media is so messed up right now

It looks like he really wants to leave, but the Tottenham boss won't let him go. Kane is in a complicated situation, he wants to leave immediately but Kane's offer price does not make the Tottenham management let him go. I think it's a dilemma, if he really doesn't go then he won't play optimally. This will make Tottenham lose, management should pay attention to this factor. Forced players will tend to be rebellious and disobedient to the rules. This sign is already there from Kane. I heard that Manchester City are very interested in Kane.
There was information that Kane wanted to leave last season, but the owner of the club persuaded him to stay for another season and there was a gentleman's agreement that the club would not interfere with the transfer of the player this season. Therefore, I perfectly understand Kane's feelings when he does not want to go to training because of this attitude towards himself from Tottenham. Manchester City were not just interested in Kane, but made a specific transfer offer. Also, Josep Guardiola personally said that the transfer of Kane is the priority of the club in this transfer window. Therefore, I do not fully understand why the owner of the club does this to a player who has always been loyal to the club.
1875  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 06, 2021, 11:49:00 PM
It seems that what Conte has predicted so far has come true if Inter Milan will sell a lot of their star players this season, the financial problems that plague Inter Milan right now certainly make many people predict if Inter Milan which is under the control of the Suning group has ended and even now Inter Milan are in a pretty bad situation even though last season they won the Scudetto Serie A 2020/21 season.
Inter Milan current ownership has continued to change in recent year.
We already talked about the bad situation of Inter during the last season and fortunately they won the scudetto after all. Now, Conte should be lucky to leave the boat before seeing Eriksen situation then Hakimi and Lukaku signing elsewhere or almost. Right now I don't see Inter competitive, they will be somewhere between 6-10 spots imo unless making good signing and we all know how hard it will be..
Inter Milan have ended right now and less chance to get scudetto again in this year after loss Antonio Conte as coach and now they have ready sell Lukaku to Chelsea, they lost most important player last season Lukaku made many goals for Inter Milan, very hard because they will play on champion league but many player was sold.
Yes, Lukaku's transfer will greatly reduce Inter's competitiveness in the new season. It is surprising that not so long ago both the club and the player himself said the opposite, and now they themselves do not rule out a transfer. I understand the resentment and rage of the club's fans, to whom the management promised not to make large sales after the departure of Ashraf Hakimi to Paris Saint-Germain, and Lukaku personally announced that he was happy with everything at the club. I also understand Chelsea, who are looking for a good striker in the transfer market and want to quickly arrange a transfer. As far as we know, Lukaku and Chelsea have already agreed on the terms of a personal contract.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: August 06, 2021, 11:40:10 PM
Well, who wants to see Messi at Manchester City? Because if he moves to PSG, then the French will surely win all possible titles for the coming year.
I'd prefer to see him move to none of them, and to another club that isn't spending millions upon millions each season. I highly doubt that Manchester City will have the capability of bringing in Messi at least while complying with English league laws. There's also the Kane saga going on. Imagine if Manchester City managed to get Messi, Kane, and Grealish all in one transfer window. It would be ridiculous, and this also applies to PSG who has also had a absolutely ridiculous transfer window.
Everything is going to the fact that Messi will go to Paris Saint-Germain. Moreover, the player will get to the club for free and there is no need to pay anything to Barcelona and the whole question is only about the player's salary, which is also a positive side in the issue of compliance with financial fair play. And in this case, the Parisians will refuse to transfer Pogba from Manchester United. Manchester City really has too many transfers in the process of implementation and the transfer of Messi at this point in time no longer fits into these processes. It would be dishonorable for Manchester City to refuse the transfer of Kane, who has announced a boycott for this and is missing Tottenham's training sessions.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 06, 2021, 11:31:11 PM
I'm not sure about Messi going to Manchester City. Because I've heard that Guardiola made a statement like Messi is not in their plans for now. He said that Grealish got the number 10 and they wouldn't make any changes about this. It was sad to hear. But I still hope that maybe they can change their mind and make a contract offer to him.
The biggest candidate to go is seeming like PSG now. That would be great also as there are Neymar and Mbappe there. However, there are still some speculations about Mbappe that he will be leaving this summer.
There was information that if Messi comes to Paris Saint-Germain, Mbappe will leave the club. It seems that Real Madrid intends to take advantage of this situation and lure the French player to itself. However, it seems that Paris Saint-Germain does not give up hope of agreeing and keeping the player at home. And so, of course, it would be interesting to see a super-connection of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe. In favor of the deal between Messi and Paris Saint-Germain, the leaked information says that only Paris Saint-Germain contacted the player after the announcement of the non-signing of the contract with Barcelona and the brother of the Emir of Qatar has already announced on Twitter that the negotiations have already been officially completed.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 06, 2021, 11:17:31 PM
I am very surprised by the news that Messi has decided not to renew his contract at Barcelona. This is very bad news for the supporters and also for the team itself. Without Messi it looks like Barcelona will only be a team that is not reckoned with like it used to be and Laliga will soon be replaced by other leagues in Europe. Messi's current situation is really bad to hear, however I would still like to see him retire at Barcelona instead of playing for another team next season.
No. It is not because of Messi but it is caused by Barcelona. Laporta said in the press conference that Messi did not challenge or create any difficulty to Barcelona when they discussed withal each other in order to renew a contract for Messi.
Barcelona have a bad balance sheet and can not meet criteria from La Liga if they registered Messi in the team for a new season. Laporta also said that it is unrealistic to hope that La Liga will change their rules just because of Messi.
Additionally, Barcelona planned to sign a two year contract with Messi only, but salary will be paid in 5 years. Even so, they still failed to deal with La Liga.
Yes, of course, Messi meant a lot and means a lot for Barcelona, but it turned out that it was in the interests of Barcelona to close this glorious page and focus on solving difficult financial problems. Otherwise, the situation could have developed that for the sake of signing Messi, the club would have driven itself into an even bigger hole. No one wanted such an end to the relationship between Barcelona and Messi, but that's life. The club will certainly lose in marketing due to the absence of such a famous player, but I don't think that Barcelona will cease to be a team claiming the highest titles just because of this. The whole game of the team was built through Messi and it may be even better that the club will start rebuilding the club game now, and not in a few years.

The new season has finally started! The opening game was Monaco - Nantes. And Monaco played a dominant game against their opponent. But Nantes still managed to get one point with a 1-1 score. Monaco must be quite unhappy about this start. But I guess they will be better in time.
I said that this will be a tough game for Monaco because this is the first match of the season.Even tho they were a better team they didnt win.Nantes should be really happy with this draw away against a big team such as Monaco. Monaco always starting slow the season.
You should not expect only wins at the beginning of the championship, because the season is long and a lot can change and those who started the season with a shock may not be able to maintain their set pace. Moreover, Monaco will play 8 games in August, and taking into account Niko Kovac, the rotation was made when, compared to the recent match with Sparta, Golovin, Ben Yedder and Foffana remained on the bench. And when they already entered the football field in the second half, the club simply did not have time to rebuild the team game in order to squeeze the opponent and achieve a positive result in the form of a win. But it is quite clear that Monaco also keeps in mind the upcoming qualifying matches for the Champions League.

What scares me the most about Mercedes at this point is that they ended up somehow find a 0.4 more seconds per lap on their car, I think it is 0.4 seconds faster than Red Bull even, since they were slower that means it could be even more seconds. Which is scary for Red Bull, look at Hungary qualifiers, with 1-2 of Hamilton and Bottas it shows how fast Mercedes car got, that is a ton of pace to be scared of.
If this was just crash and that's it and Max will return to fight then there is no problem, we will see a very entertaining season. However if Mercedes actually found a way to get the car 0.4 faster than Max every lap, then it is going to be a nightmare second half of the season for Red Bull.
It depends on the track.
At the moment it seems Redbull is the fastest track in the fast track while in the slower track Mercedes is better (and is superslow Ferrari is competitive but they stopped the upgrades on cars in April to save money for 2023).
After the summer we will have fast tracks like Spa and Imola and BRB should dominate there.
That is why I said just a new situation, it is not really something guaranteed and we will have to wait and see, was this just one track fluke where Mercedes raced a lot easier because of their car being more fit for the track? Or was it them having a new build that they are testing which ended up making them a lot faster?
We can never be 100% certain if they stopped improving on this year's car or not, and Mercedes usually stops with this year around these times already and on top of that 2022 is a whole new car that will be quite exciting to watch, which means that they should probably not improve this year's car at all, but maybe they did and found something new, I really do not know because it was a very very clear Mercedes win for this race. If it is like you said and BRB comes back in faster pace tracks then I guess we still have a big competition in our hands.
I think that Mercedes will still continue to modernize its car this year, because if in previous years such upgrades for the middle of the year were enough to dominate the other teams, then this year the situation has greatly worsened. Moreover, the Red Bull engineers will also not stand still, because the team really has serious and real chances for the title for the first time in recent years. However, it has already been said that the previous two tracks were really more suitable for the current design of the Mercedes car, so such arguments also have the right to life, but still it seems that the progress of Mercedes in recent races is obvious and this should have its share of the improvements made in the design.
