It'll be interesting to see how the issue of spam is addressed. Although the whitepaper states that spam won't be an issue because the recipient needs to authenticate the message, I would think that there is still a necessity for the recipient to look at the message first?
For example: if you want to start a chat with a friend, you give that friend your WWAM address, and then your friend sends you a message. But as there isn't a way to 'whitelist' your friend's address from the beginning, the messenger app won't know whether your friend's message is spam or not. There would be a need for you to 'whitelist' your friend's address by firstly viewing the message.
Or maybe I'm just missing something.
I think that feature like that should be easily programmable so I would not be worry about something like that. I think the meaning of anonimity is no information about you at all. So i think there will be no WWAM address. |

"We will provide a simple desktop client" , "A Windows instant messaging desktop client using the WWAM protocol, will be available at launch" So do you intend not to develop this desktop client and leave it with its basic functions? and let someone to develop it? Our main goal is to provide a working and stable protocol, not a specific client. Of course, the spare time what is not used working on the protocol itself will be used for working on side projects using the WWAM protocol including chat clients for various OS. Nicee, thats sound clear to me. I just think because youre the first ones who know and master this protocol so that youre the first ones who have the greatest opportunity to develop the app for the better. Yes govenment may hate it, but people will love WWAM even more. A lot of people will use it, with the explosion of blockchain WWAM can be ln the front Side of the market and a huge amount of people can use it a lot of Times.

Anyway, an ambitous and challenging project, but it definitely could become a real success story, will keep an eye on it the following months.
As far as their's a developer who would embrace WWAM protocol then yes. It will always be usable for smartphones. If they dont make a ios or android application with the wwam protocol out of it, then it is a huge waste of possibilities :/ imo. Like 80% of the world population is using smartphones or tablets, this is such a huge marketplace for a wwam app But also so many people use pc (especially windows) too you know, thats why bill gates is so rich  But of course with the addition of android/ios app it will be more better. |

ini buat pembelajaran saja buat semua user yang baca thread ini mau anda menggunakan wallet apapun yang bersifat HD wallet yang dimana mereka menyediakan backup seed / passphrase harap melakukan BACKUP terlebih dahulu jangan cuma andelin login mail / password / 2fa saja agar ga ada kejaian seperti ini kembali buat TS yang sabar mungkin belum rejeki makasih om supportnya tapi yah, mau gimana lagi sepertinya harus hengkang juga dari blockchain karena sebenarnya adalah ane tidak pernah backup 12 passphrase dan set second password namun, tiba2 12 passphrase sudah ter backed-up, dan second password ter set sendiri.. Kemungkinan email ane di hack, atau mungkin juga ada bug. btw ane masih coba kontak admin blockchain via email, doakan aja semoga berhasil yang ane pikir disini keliataannya akun ente udah keretas secara ga mungkin pihak BC enable second password ke akun ente secara mereka sendiri aja ga save sensitive data ke servernya tapi kalo baca di trit2 lain, banyak yg senasib sama ane om... gak pernah pasang second pass, tapi tiba2 nongol tuh second pass.. Mungkin bug kayanya. Coba agan jelasin ke supportnya semua data yang agan punya , mulai dari password, email, sama phrase 17 words yg agan punya itu, dan yang lainnya kalau masih ada yg lain lagi. To be honest, I really think this to be taking off. Why? Because of their feature on privacy and anonimity. Do you know why Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter and other social media are earning so much even though we are using their services and products for free? It's because of your information. That's why they kept on asking everything about you. In fact you are their real product. They sell your info to advertisers, governments, organizations, politicians etc. so basically their services are not free. You pay it for a price, a hefty price. And the price is your privacy. To some people they see this as a fair trade. They get to use their platform (Facebook, YouTube,etc) by giving their info to them. That depends on how you look at it. If it's ok with you on being surveillanced 24/7, being sold as commodity, giving the hackers and other blackhat entities to hack your bank accounts, house, etc, have the chance of being bullied and blackmailed online, then go.
So I think the arrival of wwam will be a game changer to this field. Let's get back our privacy. I'll be watching this very closely. This has huge potential.

Because the fair trade isnt for some people, but its for every people who know about what they actually do when they register there, for every user of those social media who can use his brain to know the ToS or the consequences if they are registered there. They want to make a real decentralized platform to protect the privacy of users, they took the exemple of the success of IRC to show the possible success of WWAM.
Everyone need to discuss and IT is made for that, i think we have a big lack of privacy this time and project like WWAM is necessary to fill this gap.
real privacy is very hard to archieve nowadays. But that's the point.. starting in this branch today might cash out in some years in multiple ways! Today many people don't care about that, but exactly they are someday the first ones that regret it most being lazy with that. Yeah , they already said it in whitepaper. "WWAM is a long-term project. There's honestly not enough projects like this. Communication on the internet is not private anywhere and most, if not all companies sell our data. I'm going to be watching this project very closely over the coming months as completely private communication with friends and family has always been something I wanted and WWAM looks like it could actually deliver.
If it will be truly secure it will be huge thing because it will be used by journalist,hackers,dark web lurkers,paranoid people and maybe even politcs?  we will see how it goes but i expect something big of WWAM because concerns for privacy is growing every year and strangely there is not much real or devoted projects dedicated for privacy keeping because theyr more interested in money they could make like u said via selling user data Yeah , i think a lot of hackers will love this project very much because there will be no trace at all |
