1861  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: pictures of antminer S5+ ,7700G, review coming soon on: August 11, 2015, 03:10:50 PM

Also IMO they wasted the 3'd PCI-E connector on each board, even 2 per board would have given plenty of overhead for significant overclock (with the lower voltage per chip these aren't going to overclock as high on average as an S5 anyway).

I suppose their thinking for a 3rd PCI-E connector is when / if you used (cheap) PSU's with say 18AWG cables, you'd be able to make it up with the third.

I believe you are correct there, Sir.  I'm just wondering if the IBM 2880W PSU's can push one of these...?  I have 14 extra laying around.  They only need breakout boards.
1862  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S6 speculation on: August 11, 2015, 03:02:52 PM
Even if the ITop price includes shipping, that's $hundreds higher than ordering it direct from Bitmain - and IMO the BITMAIN price is too high for this unit.

Totally agree...  The price at iTop is hundreds higher than what it will be at BITMAIN.  I have no idea what BITMAIN will sell it for and when they will sell it.  I need to see if they have started a thread on it.  It's possible I may purchase 25 units if they are not too pricey.
1863  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S6 speculation on: August 11, 2015, 09:28:39 AM
$3,299 for the S5+ from iTop  http://www.itopshop.net/world-biggest-miner-antminer-s5-bitcoin-miner-77-t-3436w-p-271.html  I'm not sure if that includes shipping.
1864  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Bladecenter H 2880W Breakout Boards. First batch closed, now selling from stock on: August 05, 2015, 06:06:19 AM
I have had about a 96% success rate in these used power supplies. I have yet to have one of these breakout boards go dead. Even the prototypes I received back in December are still ticking strong and have many hours on them now. The breakout board has nothing to do with the fans at all, that is all done inside the power supply.

So if you see one light with the power switch flipped to off, then when you switch it on you see two green lights, and still have no fan - it is most definitely the power supply.

Well, I had a few of mine do what you said, made the proper solder connections on the breakout board and everything is just fine now.  Meaning it was not the power supply.  Be careful of making flat statements.

I'm not saying this to discredit the breakout boards at all.  I absolutely love them!!!  I just thought the record should be set straight.

Which fan do u recommend for replacement for cooling S5. Original one has broken down.

I personally like these:  http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HQ18UDA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00

How do U attach that one to S5 ? Do you remove casing ?

Yes, the casing is removed.  And this fan is RPM controllable.  I'm not sure why the casing is on there.  I'm not familiar with any setup that would use the fan with this casing.  For all I know, it may just be to protect the fan during shipping.

By the way...  I've bought over a dozen of these fans from this seller on Amazon.  They are a good seller.  Free Shipping for that fan as well.

I use them in S4's, S3's and S5's.  I bought more of them to replace factory fans in the SP20's as well.  Of course, I had to buy a different connector to be able to connect this particular fan to the connector in the SP20's...  http://www.ebay.com/itm/161350482183?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Hi Nathan,

I'm just checking in.  I was curious how it's coming with Miner Edge and rigs with new chips?

Any updates?

Best regards

1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: leaked video explained the recent pump of litecoin on: July 23, 2015, 05:06:46 PM
For sure litecoin was pumped heavily. Along with many other altcoins. Do you have a youtube link for this video? With english translation maybe? Would be nice.
Since this was a dump, and pretty much people got on train(if these news are real) at low prices, we can expect a pump.imo

How do you figure?  The "pump" already occurred.  The pump was all about dumping to make FIAT [USD, CHY, EUR, etc...].  The one's who pumped it know there are many who are eager to dump for similar gains or to reduce losses.

Unfortunately, most of the world still revolves around FIAT and not crypto.  Most of the people who invested in LTC wanted to dump for gains around $10.00 USD.  Unfortunately, for them, other whales knew this and dumped at $8.00 USD.  They paused the dump several times on the way down to make people think it had stopped to get sufficient buy orders in place to dump into again and again and again.  It was a brilliant plan.

These whales know they would meet a lot of resistance on the way up if they were to pump it again.  LTC is not adopted for wide use the way BTC is.  I can actually pay my Dish Network bill with BTC but one cannot do this with LTC.  I don't know that LTC will ever get adopted by retailers the way BTC has thus far.

If you want another pump again, it will not happen until close to the next BTC block halving.  However, I see it still unlikely then.  I could be wrong, but this pump and dump has left quite a stain on the hearts and minds of many who were broken by this latest pump and dump scheme.  I actually made out good [on the up side] myself.  However, I know of many who got burned quite badly.

Hi Luc (and fellow BTCers),

What course of study would you recommend for a novice analyst with less than one year trading experience? I'd like to make trading my full time job but the amount of information out there is overwhelming. It's often hard to separate the wheat from the chaff (lunar cycles anyone?). Any advice would be much appreciated.

Someone recommended FOREX...  That's good for starters.  Here are a couple of links to help you get started with FOREX:

No, I was just curious what's going on in tradingview about me. I don't publish anything there. I just use it private when Sierra chart not in current environment.

I thought there is someone posting analysis from my nickname.

Sorry for the delay.  I've been out and about with my 4 year old son.  Took him to see Minions.

Nobody is posting your analysis at all on tradingview.com.  I've heard your name several times over the months on there and never considered asking a member there who you are until the last time I saw your name in the chat box.  They just said they respect you as a person and your analysis of the bitcoin market more than most.  So, I decided to ask them if you were on tradingview.com.  Instead, they gave me this link to bitcointalk.org to this forum.

This has been interesting starting from page one in this thread.  I've enjoyed what I've read thus far and I'm continuing to read to learn all I can about the concepts shared by you and others in this forum.

You just have some people who respect you and your opinion on trading view.  That's all I intended to convey.

Have a good day, Sir.

Cheers

Wow...  Just heard of you master from tradingview.com.  Heard good things about you.  I see why.  Thanks!

I'm sorry, what r u talking about?

I guess all I'm trying to say is several on tradingview.com talked like you and this thread is a good place to learn about trading and chart analysis.

I want to apologize for supposedly "spamming" your thread.  That was not my intent at all.  I was simply trying to inform others about the pump and dump scheme implemented with LTC being finalized with BTC.

I have just deleted all of my previous posts.  I didn't realize I was "spamming" your thread.  I will be sure not to "spam" this thread anymore.  I will also be sure to delete this post within another hour or two.

Sorry, everyone for supposedly trashing your thread.

Regards and happy trading.

Thanks for sharing.

I'm still in LTC at the moment.  I got in with 36 BTC worth on June 13th.  I have now tripled my profits.  Trying to decide when to get out.

So, does anyone think the present pump is a grand pump and dump scheme for LTC?  As well as the other alts?
1876  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BITMAIN announces Antpool on: July 02, 2015, 09:59:33 PM
i dont think so this is iOS/App Store not A buggy android app from google play....

ps : this is btckan official app, they are pretty popular in China  Wink

So your saying any app on the apple store cannot be a virus?  Please remove your post and don't mislead people.

I also reread your first post, the app wants your username and password!  That is a huge red flag because now they have all your information (including access to 2FA).  Regardless of who this is and how popular they are, if they decide to be malicious or get hacked, all of a sudden all your information is compromised.

Def do not download this app.

Practically every damn app for iPhone involving bitcoin mining asks for a damn user name and password.  So, I simply deleted the app from my phone.  Pissed me off I had to pay for the damn app only to find out they wanted that info.  Do NOT trust those apps that want that info...  period!!!

I'm having problems with AntPool showing the icon that I click to be able to log in.  It shows the little "head" icon to click on bitmaintech.com to go in but not at AntPool.  Is anyone else having the same issue?

EDIT:  Never mind...  It's showing the little head to click to log in now after reloading the page.

Hello dmwardjr, my real name is Behman Zakeri. I mostly played online as well but play the main event every other year on average. PM me if you want to meet up at the WSOP or at a future event. I look forward to meeting you and thanks for your consideration!

Give me a moment...
1879  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Beamer 2015 WSOP World Series of Poker Sponsorship‏ on: June 27, 2015, 10:56:34 PM
Do you mind giving me your real name so I can look up your stats on WSOP?

I may still donate 1 BTC regardless.  I just want to see your stats.  I've played a lot on line and LIVE.  I play WSOP Circuit myself quite a bit.  I just took a break all of 2014 to invest in BTC and LTC trading on the exchanges.

I WILL be on the circuit for 2015.  My first events will be at the IP in Biloxi, MS in September.  The new year for the circuit always starts in August and ends in July/August.

4) your pool is constantly at 100% luck for the day (BIG IF).

Out of all the variables, that should be the one which remains the most stable.

Can you explain why BTCGuild has fallen below 82% for a 30 day period and Slush has fallen below 90% for a 30 day period?

BTCGuild is actually below 92% for the year and below 82% for the month.  So, ANYTIME I look at bitcoinwisdom calculator to determine potential earnings for the day, week and year; I always deduct at least 8% from the estimate given by bitcoinwisdom to come up with a more conservative estimate of earnings.  EVERYONE should do this.

I switched over to BTCChina, who remains over 93% for the year.  However, they always showed 1 TH/s less than what I actually have.  THEN, I switched over to AntPool.  They actually remain consistent with my actual hash rate AND remain above 92% majority of the time.  Here lately, it has been rare for a pool to be 100% or higher for the month; much less an entire year.

So, in my opinion, one should be careful about assuming a pool will remain 100% or higher for an entire year.  A few pools MIGHT achieve this but not very many.  This means one should always deduct approximately 7% to 8% of their projected earnings for a rig [To be conservative] when determining ROI.  My honest opinion...
