Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Not if they can't afford to make a loss in the beginning.

Its a smaller site, when it begins to pick up some sales they will surely lower the fees.

No thanks. A roulette table would give me a much higher risk/reward ratio than this loan.

Can you point me in the direction of what you know about the linode hack? What is linode?

Linode is a hosting company. A bunch of bitcoin websites that were hosted on linode were hacked and wallet files stolen.

I have lost the location of my old wallet and would like to know if I can transfer the balance from my old wallet to a new one. I have my receive address from my old wallet. Is there anyway to send my balance to my new address?

Lost the location of the wallet file on your PC? search your drive for wallet.dat.

Unless you can find the wallet file, your money is gone. Receiving addresses are no good.

Its a good idea to print out your wallet import keys and hide them well, so if you loose your wallet file, you can import your address into a new wallet.
1872  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sell bitcoins for cash in person on: April 08, 2012, 06:32:12 PM
Has anyone seen or heard of people selling bitcoin for cash at say a store or booth? I'm thinking this might be very easy using the Android bitcoin app.

I don't know if there are stores doing this, but people do meet face-to-face to sell bitcoins.

I wonder if this would be subject to sales tax in some states or localities.

The fee you charge would be subject to sales tax. Depending on your location, you may also need to get a money transmission license or something equivilant if you plan on selling a large amount of bitcoins.

When does this auction end?
1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [RELEASE] Liquidcoin (Speculation based) on: March 31, 2012, 11:38:58 PM
Is this altchain using scrypt? If so, then are people GPU-mining it (like litecoin) ?

I miss CPU-mining litecoin, and need something to keep my processor busy.

Lets get this thing started.
1876  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a 2BTC loan on: March 31, 2012, 02:34:08 PM
Why don't you just sell your stuff for BTC?

I fail to see why you need somebody to spot you 2BTC.
1877  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Betting Prize 2 on: March 31, 2012, 02:09:31 PM
is the same one running Scam Auctions.....

Don't see how these are scam auctions. I won the last round with a 0.01BTC bid. He received 0.010520 BTC in total from everyones bids and sent me roughly 0.4BTC worth of NMC. He lost about 0.38BTC in the last round and I received my prize within an hour.

Meh, I don't think my friend would lie to me

Course, I guess it's up to you to trust that I wasn't lying either

Is it hearsay when the accused is the one making the claims? *shrug*

All the evidence we have to identify the OP is evidence he supplied. How do we know for certain he isn't setting someone else up?
