1861  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name or Site Functionality? Or Both? on: May 16, 2022, 06:11:09 AM
I see a lot of great Casinos and Sports Betting platforms here that doesn't really have great brand name but have excellent functionalities and quality designs. While some ( not so many) do have both great designs,  functionality and perfect brand name, so many majority simply don't. So, I was wondering. If I'm going to spend so much money to build a great gambling platform, why not just spend extra little more to acquire a great name? After all, nothing is greater in business than your brand equity.

What do you think? I'd like to understand the mindset of some gambling operators and start ups. What do you consider to be the most important in your gambling startup? Great name or site functionality or both?

Can you mention a few crypto casinos that have a great brand name and a few that don't have a great brand name?
I think that almost all big crypto casinos have great brand names. They have great functionality as well. Maybe that's why they became so big.
The obvious answer to your question is that both a good name and good functionality/design are a key factor for the success of every crypto casino and sports betting platform. The problem is that having a "good brand name" is something subjective. Some people could like the name of one website, while others could dislike that name.
1862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Such News pisses me off! on: May 16, 2022, 05:50:02 AM
Clickbait news articles exist since the early years of both the internet and mass media.
Fake news existed even before the internet and the mass media.
There's no reason to get angry at some clickbait fake news. You just have to do the research and try to find some reliable news sources.
Expecting Youtube/social media influencers to be honest and reliable is the same as expecting a hooker to love you forever, for who you are. Grin
Are you desperate to find bullish news about Bitcoin?Don't worry,OP.They will come after a few months.
I've never even heard anything about this Elwood Technolgies crypto trading platform. They probably aren't a significant player on the crypto market.
1863  Economy / Speculation / Re: Was $25K the bottom? on: May 15, 2022, 10:37:53 AM
I really hope that the recent panic on the crypto markets was mostly caused by the Luna/Terra collapse.
After the market bloodbath caused by Luna/Terra,there will be a period of stagnation, followed by a price recovery.
The pessimistic scenario is that the investors are running away from the crypto markets searching for safe heavens like gold and commodities.
In this case, the crypto price recovery won't happen anytime soon and we will have to wait for until 2024.
I don't see any major FUD attack against Bitcoin right now. There's no reason for FUD.The big governments/central banks aren't acting hostile towards BTC,the blockchain is doing just fine. This gives me hope that Bitcoin will rise like a phoenix in the upcoming years.
1864  Economy / Economics / Re: Taking loan during high inflation? on: May 15, 2022, 10:11:59 AM
Your friend has told you some schoolbook advise, that doesn't always work. Schoolbooks can be wrong sometimes.
Inflation can be good for the borrowers, but only if the borrowers manage to use the money they have borrowed in a smart way.
Buying BTC with a loan is an extremely risky decision.I don't recommend newbies to do this.Bying real estate with a loan is OK,but the value of the real estate property depends of the location. If the location is shitty, the price of the real estate won't grow in the future.
However,I don't think that the big western central banks would increase the interest rates at levels that are sufficient to stop the inflation.
In the near future, the inflation rates will be higher than the interest rates, which means that borrowing money would be beneficial for the borrowers(if they use those money to make some smart investments).
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever thought of doing your thesis on Gambling ? on: May 15, 2022, 05:54:17 AM
Loot boxes aren't ethical? Grin
I don't need to write a thesis,in order to come to the conclusion that loot boxes aren't ethical.
Loot boxes aren't fair to begin with. They are just great for hooking up the players and manipulating their minds into producing more dopamin.
Gambling games and video games aren't supposed to be ethical and fair. They are supposed to manipulate your brain and make you think that you are having some fun, while wasting your time(and money). There's nothing necessarily wrong with that. All the bad habits and guilty pleasures are like that.
Anyway,I don't think writing a thesis about gambling should be financially rewarded. The companies in the gambling business could spend those money for advertising or for building better online casinos.
1866  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Holding or Using ? on: May 15, 2022, 05:27:04 AM
We all know about BTC Holding and we all encourage it, and on the other hand we are also happy when we see someone buying a car with BTC. My point is, if we hold btc all the time, where is our profit if it is not used, and if it is just holding without using, how will its value increase? And why are we happy when we see someone buy something from btc?  This issue has been circulating in my mind for a long time, what do you think about it?

You are generalizing too much.
Who says that we are happy seeing someone buying a car with BTC?I don't care,if someone buys a car or a house using BTC.
The people are free to use their Bitcoins however they want and mind their own business.
There's no theory, where all the Bitcoiners are HODLing and nobody is spending. Also there's no way for all Bitcoiners to spend their BTC and nobody HODLing Bitcoins. In reality, nobody cares about buying stuff with Bitcoins.Everybody wants the Bitcoin to go up,but this simply isn't happening right now.Maybe it will happen in the future.
By the way,I think that buyng a car or a house with BTC is kinda dumb, because BTC is an asset and cars/houses are simply liabilities.
It's better to have less liabilities and more assets.
1867  Economy / Economics / Re: Homes in 97% of U.S. cities are overvalued, Moody's says on: May 13, 2022, 10:58:23 AM
Quote
Moody's by contrast is bearish on real estate and recommends waiting a few years before buying. There was also a big property tax hike for the united states in 2021, which makes buying and HODLing real estate more difficult. Immigration numbers suggest demand for living space should continue to increase, which could drive markets higher.

I think that the term "HODLing'' must be referred to the cryptocurrency world only(especially Bitcoin). We must not use this term, when it comes to other financial assets and real estate. Grin
Waiting a few years before buying won't change anything. The real estate bubble in the US won't burst soon.Even if it does, this will be temporary and a new real estate bubble will begin to accumulate.
I don't think that immigration has anything to do with pumping the real estate prices. Most immigrants are lacking enough money to buy a house and I also don't think that illegal immigrants can apply for a mortgage. The real reason behind the real estate bubble is the Federal Reserve's monetary policy. The interest rates have to go up.This will cool down the real estate market for sure.
1868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: WE NEED A HALL OF FAME? on: May 13, 2022, 06:44:20 AM
Seems like a pointless idea to me.If the idea was really good,it would have been already implemented in the forum a long time ago.
There's no incentive for the gamblers to participate in such "wall of fame".Every gambler is free to brag about his winnings in his own social media profiles,or he could just create a forum thread here.
There's no incentive for the crypto casinos to participate in this wall of fame forum thread as well(maybe except advertising their brands).
I don't think that many people would be interested in visiting this wall of fame forum thread on a daily basis. This kinda makes the whole idea pointless.
Another thing is the verification of winning bets. How are they going to be verified?Screenshots can be faked.

As Bitcoin could become the real monetary medium of exchange in the near future

Nah.Not going to happen.Bitcoin will most likely remain as a volatile risky financial asset in the near future.

Quote
the investors in Bitcoin must educate themselves about the hidden Bitcoin agendas in cryptography and in plain invisibility

Hidden Bitcoin agendas? What hidden agendas? The Bitcoin protocol is completely transparent and there's nothing to hide.

Your so called "backup plan" is either a scam or an idea that simply won't work.If the merchants want a stable medium of exchange they can stick to fiat money.Paper cash might be losing value right now,but it's value is still way more stable than Bitcoin.

Quote
If they prefare to move their Bitcoin in Sidle Zone then that could be more better because they themselves can hide their Bitcoin from prying eyes or for any fear of price crash

The Sidle Zone? And who is going to control the BTC,that's being saved in the Sidle Zone? You?
The best way for someone to keep his Bitcoins is his own cold wallet and his own private keys.
Any third party wanting to "keep your Bitcoins in a safe place" simply smells like a scam.

1870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Coping Strategy for Bitcoin Price Crash on: May 12, 2022, 11:19:18 AM
We are born with nothing and we will die with nothing.
Material possessions, money and financial assets are temporary. They just come and go.One day you have them and the other day they are gone.Unfortunately,we live in a system, where money and financial assets determine our social status and our artificial value as human beings.
A buddhist monk once told me "Life is like the stock market. There are ups and downs" I guess that we have to embrace the downs, not just the ups.The bad times are an opportunity, not a reason for pointless drama.
The panic on the crypto markets will come and go.We just have to HODL and wait for the panic to go away.
1871  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Mortgages Let Homebuyers Keep Bitcoin, Put Down Nothing on: May 12, 2022, 10:51:28 AM

The home loans offered by Milo represent a new twist. Instead of simply paying for property with tokens, borrowers pledge their digital holdings as collateral, with no down payments necessary. That enables the holders to keep their coins, avoiding taxes on capital gains and theoretically benefiting from rising values for both the tokens and the real estate. It also heightens risk by using a volatile asset to finance purchases at a time the heated U.S. property market faces a slowdown from the fastest jump in borrowing costs in decades.

1.I don't believe in this "no down payments necessary" part.Down payments are always necessary, the payment method doesn't matter.
Perhaps Milo wants to make this whole "crypto mortgage" business model more attractive by not requiring down payments.I don't think that this is going to be a sustainable business model in the long run.
2.Capital gains tax is required only if the  financial asset increased it's value/price above the acquisition price. If someone bought BTC at 50K and BTC suddenly became 30K USD,that guy doesn't have to pay capital gains tax for selling it's BTC at 30K.I'm not an expert on capital gains taxation, but this is just my opinion on how the tax works.Putting your capital at risk, just for the sake of avoiding capital gains tax?It doesn't seem like a reasonable idea to me.
1872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler turns 60 pence bet into £157,865.59 on: May 12, 2022, 06:03:48 AM
This punter is either the biggest genius at analyzing British football in the world or he's extremely lucky(or maybe both).
Perhaps he could give some betting advice on Premier League and Championship games to us for free(or maybe for a fee).
I'm sure that he tried doing this in the past, but failed multiple times.Betting low amounts on a big sequence of games seems like an interesting strategy.I might try it.
Guessing the winning teams out of 16 games probably has lower odds than guessing the lottery numbers,I'm no mathematician. Grin
Good for him.He could reinvest that money into sports betting or start his own betting advice website.

1873  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UST Stable coin depegs from dollar USD may Crash BTC,cause crypto death spiral on: May 12, 2022, 05:35:03 AM
The market sooner or later gets rid of all the sketchy "too good to be true" projects/companies.Terra is just one of the big ones.Maybe Tether will follow.
I'm sure that there will be panic selling and a bloodbath on the crypto markets, but calling this a "death spiral" seems like exaggeration and spreading FUD to me.Bitcoin Core isn't going to be destroyed, just because some sketchy stablecoin project exploded and a the risk seeking investors lost some money. The Bitcoin Core blockchain is alright, the BTC price will be low for a while(probably one year or more),but this is fine, because:
1.Cheap Bitcoins for us to buy and wait for another bull run.
2.BTC getting cheaper would actually make the FUDsters leave the BTC market for a while.
If the BTC price was 60K right now,the FUD drama  would have been crazy.
1874  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: what is the best investment for the next halving? on: May 11, 2022, 11:30:06 AM
You are 15 years old,so I don't think that the big crypto exchanges would be an option for you, obviously because of the KYC verification.
Where are you going to buy crypto, since almost all crypto traders and crypto trading platforms would require ID verification,in order to for you purchase cryptocurrencies?Do you really have any fiat money to invest?I would recommend you to stay away from any unregulated crypto exchanges and crypto traders, who claim that they would sell you any coins. There are scammers waiting for young victims like you.
The best investment for the next halving is obviously Bitcoin Core, but I don't know how are you going to buy BTC.Altcoins are just a waste of money and time,if you ask me.
1875  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Quantum Computing Initiatives Behind Bitcoin's Latest Downtrend? on: May 11, 2022, 10:36:22 AM
The idea of Bitcoin traders panicking just because there are some news and events related to quantum computing seems ridiculous to me.
I'm not an expert on quantum computers, but I think that it would take years for quantum computers to become available for the masses.
Even if quantum computers become a thing,I'm sure that the Bitcoin Core blockchain would adapt to the new situation and improve.
The Bitcoin Core code isn't written on stone,Bitcoin is flexible and it always will be.
The price drops were caused by the Federal Reserve increasing the interest rates and the stock market going down.
I guess that, from now on,the panic on the stock markets would be easily transferred across all the other financial markets. This is the new normal.
1876  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horse Racing and Gambling on it should be banned on: May 11, 2022, 05:32:18 AM
It must be horrible to see a horse dying after a race, but I don't think that banning gambling on horse racing would solve the problem.
If such ban happens, the entire horse racing gambling industry would just continue to exist under the shadows, without any regulations and probably under the control of some mobsters.Things might get even worse.
Many human athletes also get doping and this ruins their health after they retire from their professional careers.Should we ban all sports because of this?Do you think that a global sports betting ban over all professional sports would solve the problem?I don't think so.
1877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Bitcoin and crypto "could destroy your life", go to rehab hehehe on: May 11, 2022, 05:12:22 AM
I wanna see someone make an ad about people, who are addicted to stocks trading. That would be hilarious.
It's just easy to shit on the crypto industry, because the advocates of crypto trading are very few and they aren't very influential.
It has been stated multiple times, that crypto trading can lead to addiction, just like gambling, but I have never seen a crypto trading addict so far.
Paying 90K USD for addiction rehab? Those rehab clinic owners are the real predators here.I thought that addiction treatment should be affordable. Those crypto trading addicts would lose more money paying for the rehab, rather than wasting them on crypto trading.
1878  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish market continues? on: May 10, 2022, 10:47:13 AM
The current situation on the BTC market kinda reminds me of May 2021.
In May 2021,the Bitcoin price dropped from 56K USD to 36K USD,mostly because of the Elon Musk FUD and some China FUD.Bitcoin recovered and hit another ATH in October/November 2021,which is 5 months after the price drop.
I'm not so optimistic about the BTC price recovering 5 months after the current price drop.
This year's price drop in May is caused by different factors-FED increasing interest rates, the war in Ukraine and fears of Russia escalating the conflict, growing prices of oil, stock markets crashing, etc.
The investors simply don't see Bitcoin as a safe heaven asset or inflation protection tool, that's why all the stock market investors, who are selling their stock portfolios aren't joining the crypto markets.
Don't sell, buy the dip and wait for 2024.This is the only winning strategy. There's no alternative.
1879  Economy / Economics / Re: Historic Moment for Real Estate as House is Sold for 3 Bitcoins in Portugal on: May 10, 2022, 10:24:32 AM
I wouldn't call this a "historical moment".There's nothing historical about it.
Some house sellers might want to sell their real estate properties in exchange of Bitcoins, but that doesn't mean mass BTC adoption. Those "Bitcoin-friendly" house sellers will remain an insignificant minority in the next years.
Perhaps the guy,who sold his house for BTC has made the deal of his life, especially if he HODLs those 3 Bitcoins in the long term and the BTC price hits 70-100K USD after a year or two.

First , you can control the game time!
you could choose to open a new game anytime, and control the game time like 30mins or 1hour, why do that? you could take the winner profits 1~5% as fee
its like, i join your game room ,play the crash, the game is 0 edge to me but just  in 30mins or 1hour,i don’t know i will win  or not , if i win , maybe 100 usd, i will pay u 1~5 usd as fee , i think its ok , If i lose 100usd,i think the game is fair to me , i just lose to the 0 edge game, that ok right?

Seems like a dumb idea to me.
What if the users create multiple accounts by using VPNs or residential proxies,so that they could bypass this rule?Spending more resources to implement this "time limit" rule and trying to stop the players from bypassing it and exploiting the crypto casino would make the entire business model unprofitable.
Crash games simply work,I'm not a big fan of crash games, but they work.If something works, why bother changing it?Such changes would make the crash games less desirable by the gamblers and the crypto casinos would lose money.
