ok I just saw an unboxing.. it only has 6 connections

6 PCIe connectors are enough for 3 S3 miners.

About 5500 shorted btc on BFX.  A short squeeze would take us to 625.

yes, lets use those shorts for another round of swaps and a pump to 580.
1865  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: btcgarden-AM-v1 only $0.85/GHs 1.045w/GHs. In stock for international selling! on: August 17, 2014, 03:36:55 PM
Thanks for the info on overclocking, will get to that soon, just finishing up my temp experiments now.
At stock speed the AM-V2 hashes at between 616 and 624 GHs. Top on, top off makes absolutely no difference in hash rate over longer periods.
The machine's top two blades do run 2 C cooler with top plate in place.

While I'm here... just ordered a second AM-V2 anyone have any thoughts on stacking vs not stacking and also opinions on PSU, I have  a 1300 watt Platinum PSU from EVGA that looks like it could run two of these but BTC Gardens' stated specs call for a 750 W PSU for each.
(When I first plugged my V2 in I checked and it was drawing 634 W at the wall but I haven't checked to see how much this fluctuates while mining).

yeah, if you dont overclock them I think you can run them no problem on 1300 W PSU.

I must say that I like this miner, it is solid, and with good GH/$ ratio.

lets try to keep and maintain the price above 500, with another round of leverages and see what will happen in a month or two.  Cheesy
1871  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 16, 2014, 11:18:04 AM

volume on stamp is pathetic and we hit 480.

 Undecided

totally pathetic volume, clearly its going to crash, better sell now b4 its to late.

everybody moved to bitfinex it seems. I didnt because I dont trust them.

I miss mtgox style crashes. nowadays we got controlled smart dumps. market is more mature and you have to be much more patient.

They'll be a huge move upwards... but I think we have to clear the underbrush of leverage further, first. Remember, crashes in most markets with leverage typically stop at 55%. Maybe we'll stop sooner, but with $20mil in longs on Finex... don't bank on it. Wait until a bottom confirms and buy. This is pretty easy stuff. And yes, we'll lever all the way back up.

55% of 1163 is $640. We're already way over 55%.

55 % of 640.

Cheesy

I keep "forgetting" that most people here aren't interested in reality. They throw up a hypothesis, "huge amounts of Bitcoins accumulated off-exchange, that's why the price is driven lower by manipulators", yet they choose to ignore the evidence. The evidence being that what's probably the largest Bitcoin fund hasn't bought shit in over 3 months: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=337486.0 How is this reconciled? Is it just one particular individual accumulator, and not indicative of broader HNI actions? How likely is that?

So, I get it. Fantasies are nice. Reality sucks.

You should rename your nickname to "Don Quijote" ;-)

People are not interested in a reasonable argumentation. You will fight with shadows.

quite the opposite.

don quijote was a lunatic with delusional ideas, slave to his own twisted ideology.

1879  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 15, 2014, 01:05:03 PM
ah, if rpietila is calling the bottom, I might short even more.  Grin

he must be that desperate buyer buying all the coins on stamp to 510.
1880  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 15, 2014, 11:50:56 AM
china going under, again.

brace yourself.
China bans Bitcoin!

Just again? :-)

Downward momentum on these China Bans is lowering on each repeatition, so in a few month we could could reach a reversal where momentum turns upside on China Bans ;-)

no china bans this time.

I am speculating that AM is dumping coins to lower and slow down difficulty, and make their new miners more affordable.
