Lithuania has just declared war against Russia, also on your behalf.
? o_O

Well, I am just extrapolating on the choice of wording by the Lithuanian President:

Also, another interesting "coincidence":

Can that incidentally be the tanks newly-shipped from the US?

EU drafts new sanctions against Russia over Ukraine, but ‘wants no confrontation’
http://rt.com/news/183944-eu-sanctions-ukraine-summit/

Quote
Ahead of an EU summit, the European Commission has drafted a new set of sanctions against Russia over the Ukraine crisis, adding that it wants neither confrontation nor a Cold War with Moscow, which would be “detrimental” to all Europe.

“We are ready to take very strong and clear measures but we are keeping our doors open to a political solution,” European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso told a news conference in Brussels after his meeting with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko Saturday.

No they are not. Each time Russia comes with an initiative for peaceful resolution of Ukrainian internal conflict, that gets blocked in the UN by either USA or Lithuania.

Quote
“The EU summit's signal must be clear: if there is no truce, peace plan implementation and full border control, new sanctions will follow," Finnish Prime Minister Alexander Stubb said on Saturday, as quoted by Itar-Tass.

As I said: Russia proposed that Kiev takes steps to a peaceful dialogue with the freedom fighters. Nixed by Kiev. Border control? and what are the OSCE observers are doing at the border all the time? Are they sugegstion building a wall? The border between Russia and Ukraine is as physical as the border between Belgium and Holland.

so why not call a ceasefire and settle it. Not the plan i guess. They want the gas fields and the kill as many russian people there as possible east and then put Nato on the border of russia for phase two and continue with the US plan of world domination. Maybe Russia should just turn off the gas.

EU sanctions are emotional step instructed by US – Russian parliament speaker
http://rt.com/news/183936-naryshkin-ukraine-sanctions-reaction/

Quote
Blacklisting Russian individuals and targeting the country’s economy is but an emotional step the EU took after an apparent instruction from the US, Russian State Duma speaker Sergey Naryshkin told RT. But Moscow hasn’t sought to even the score, he added.

Naryshkin called the personalized sanctions imposed on Russian MPs, including Naryshkin himself, by European counterparts “strange, or even absurd” since Europeans “have always prided themselves on their democratic tradition,” while the personalized sanctions are “absolutely at odds” with that.

‘United Continent’: European volunteers fighting Kiev troops in Eastern Ukraine
http://rt.com/news/183864-ukraine-european-volunteers-fighting/

Quote
European volunteers are streaming into Ukraine to join the fighting on both sides. While Kiev’s forces are beefed up with mercenaries from private military companies, Europeans have also come to defend the rebel Donbass region of their own free will.

One of the latest reinforcements of anti-Kiev troops in Eastern Ukraine are four French ex-serviceman who have come to fight this war, thousands of kilometers from home.

“It’s our war. It’s everybody’s war, it’s every European’s war,” Guillaume, a French fighter in Ukraine defending the Donbass region, told RT’s Paula Slier.

...

“These are people’s militias, these are not mercenaries or professional soldiers, so they need instruction,” Nikola told RT.

“They really have the motivation, whereas the Kiev army, which is a kind of puppet of NATO, they don’t have any motivation whatsoever,” Nikola said. “We have seen them before. They are very much unmotivated and they do not really know why they are fighting, and against whom they are fighting, so that is our main strength.”

Also:
Quote
After the UN Security Council on Thursday blocked Russia’s statement calling for a ceasefire in Eastern Ukraine under a completely frivolous pretext, Russia's envoy to the UN Vitaly Churkin had a heated debate with colleagues from the US and Ukraine, who again accused Russia of a full-scale invasion as a large number of Russian volunteers are fighting in Ukraine.

Vitaly Churkin fired back, saying that nobody ever tried to hide the presence of Russian volunteers, urging Washington to acknowledge the presence of US advisers in Kiev and why mercenaries from private military companies are waging war in Ukraine.

“Maybe our American colleagues can tell us what tens of American advisers are busy with in the headquarters of National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine [in Kiev]? Let them tell us how many American mercenaries from the so-called “security provider” companies are fighting [in Ukraine], thousands of kilometers from their home ground?” demanded Churkin, not forgetting to mention first-rate US-made armaments observed in Ukrainian units.

Meanwhile, and despite Russia repeatedly saying that the conflict in Ukraine is an internal civil war, the president of... Lithuania stated today that there is a war between Russia and Ukraine and by extension with the whole of Europe.

Quote: "Because Russia is at war with Ukraine, it is at war with a country that badly wants a tight integration with EU and thus Russia is at war with EU. Europe must help Ukraine in defending its land and its people. Ukraine is fighting today in the name of all Europeans."

Never mind 820.000 refugees and Ukrainian military that fled to Russia. Can you imagine British fleeing to Germany during WWII?

This is very dangerous rhetoric: she de-facto declares war on Russia from the name of the whole Europe. What is ironic, is that both Russia, Lithuania and Ukraine are par of Europe, Eastern Europe, but still - so Europe declares a war on itself, while the only one leaning back with the pop-corn will be the US...

WWIII, here we come. The next step: EU/NATO launching a pre-emptive attack against Russia under the above pretext.

So, any Europeans on this forum - did you know that you are already at war with Russia, according to Lithuania (who are firmly under the US thumb)? Are you ready to die for Ukraine?

WWI was started under the pretext of Serbia.
WWII was started under the pretext of Yugoslavia.
WWIII is being started under the pretext of Ukraine.

It seems that Russia once again will be called upon to perform the thankless task of ending yet another war, imposed on it from the West...  Embarrassed

What history did they teach you in Russia ?

Oh wait , the pretext was the invasion of Poland in which Russia also played a role.
No wonder you're trying to avoid it.

I thought you were asleep.  Grin

First of all, AGAIN!!! Not, Russia, but Soviet Union.

Second, yes, I was wrong. It was the invasion Poland by Germany after a pretext provocation by Germans, dressed as Poles, attacking a German radio station.

For some reason, I had also some events in Yugoslavia around that time at the back of my head. I am fixing my original post, and adding a few more thoughts. The main grotesque point of it stands, something that you completely avoided noticing - Lithuania has just declared war against Russia, also on your behalf.
1865  Other / Politics & Society / Re: More Americans Think the US Does too little to Solve World Problems on: August 30, 2014, 06:37:19 PM
The reason for this is because the US has such a strong military. We are the only ones in the world that has the military capacity to potentially handle this job/responsibility.
Or, more like, you are lead to believe that.  Wink

This will go to paying back 5 billion dollars worth of Ukrainian state bonds that Russia bought a few years back to help keep Ukrainian economy afloat, as well as for the gas debt. It will also go (and not be enough) to offset the 60% of GDP worth of revenue that Ukraine had from its trade with Russia.

1870  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Could someone provide evidence that the majority of Russians aren't insane? on: August 30, 2014, 05:56:53 PM
Kluge, let me reverse the question. As this whole "Russians are insane" stigma is a Western invention (I think it originated in the Hollywood propaganda film "The Hunt for Red October", but maybe earlier), and as those who make a hypothesis have the burden of proving it, let me ask:

Could someone from the West provide evidence that the majority of Russians are insane?

Putin is like 4 feet tall and he is clearly insane. He has his picture taken bare chested Riding a pig or whatever it was. Trying to be "Manlike"  He is pissed off because he is shorter than Napolean and his pecker is only 2". He wants his war to show he is a "Big Man" but in reality he is small in all aspects of life.

Angry little Vodka fueled rage is what he has. Fact is Little man Putin is putting the world on the Brink of WW3 and his little Ego Might be put back into Check Mate since the Entire planet is condemning and watching his every "Tiny" movement.

The Good Russian people should overthrow this Vermin and replace him with a more Stable minded person. The world was a better place with Russia before him.

Funny to see this remark full of rage about a man who has shown the most level-headedness and calm in this turbulent political atmosphere..  Roll Eyes
But it reinforces the pattern that whenever Russia has a strong leader that is good for Russia, that leader gets foul-mouthed from the West, and whenever Russia has a weak leader that leads the country into ruin, that leader gets praised in the West.

Current number of Ukrainian refugees in Russia is officially 820.000 people. A lot of Ukrainian soldiers are as well fleeing from the suicidal orders to Russia.

A small reminder about Mariupol to people with really short memories: ON the 9th of May (arguably the most revered holiday) police were ordered to break up the peaceful Victory Day celebration. They refused to obey orders and themselves became a target from the arriving National Guard/Right Sector reinforcements, who shot at both the police and the civilians. That was the Mariupol massacre, and it was one of the triggers to the armed resistance.

Should have not pissed off Russia by blocking the energy flow.
Now that they have anger the dragon, there is only one outcome left.

The idiots in Kiev fail to understand that the NATO is using them as pawns against Russia. Look what happened with Georgia in 2008. The NATO asked Georgia to wage war against Russia. Once the Russians counter-attacked, the Georgians were left on their own, without any financial or technical support. The same will happen with Kiev.

Seeing as Saakashvili (who is on the wanted list in Georgia now) is an "advisor" to Kiev government, the Georgian scenario is to be expected.

The freedom fighters heeded Putin's plea to create a humanitarian evacuation corridor to the surrounded Ukrainian soldiers, provided they surrender their weapons

Why allow them to escape? They will return to Kiev and then come back with advanced weapons to kill the civilians. Putin should mind his own business.

I think this is one of the last diplomatic signals aimed at the West: see everything that Russia can legally do to de-escalate the conflict and save human lives is being done.

I also think it will fall on deaf ears.

Russian-EU gas talks have progressed, but no solution was reached Friday over Russia and Ukraine’s gas standoff. Moscow says their $100 gas discount to Kiev stands, and the EU doesn’t want gas negotiations to be used to escalate the Ukraine crisis.

Russia again offered Kiev a $100 gas price discount, bringing the total price down to $385 per 1,000 cubic meters, a lower price it charges any of its European customers. However, before Gazprom can offer the discount, Kiev has to begin repaying their debt.

“Sad as it might seem, this reminds me of the events of World War II, when the German Nazi occupants surrounded our cities, like Leningrad, and directly shelled those cities and their inhabitants,” Putin said on Friday, speaking at the “Seliger-2014” youth forum.

He recalled the signs in St. Petersburg, preserved since World War II, which warned citizens which side of the road was more vulnerable to shelling.

...

The president also commented on Kiev’s military units that are currently surrounded and blocked by anti-government militia. According to the latest data, Kiev has refused to try and negotiate safe passage for them to retreat.

“I think this is a colossal mistake that will lead to a lot of human casualties,” Putin said.

Ukraine is already invaded, but not by Russia.

This is the biggest US embassy in Europe (!):

It's located in Kiev, ostensibly, the least economically and politically important country in Europe. Not in Germany, not in France, not in the UK, but in Kiev.
According to some Ukrainian workers, involved in the construction in 2004, during the previous Western-sponsored president Yushenko, the underground part is even bigger than the above ground construction and can house a small army.

And this is the building of SBU (Ukrainian secret service) in Kiev:

The fourth floor is used by the CIA and is off-limits to the Ukrainian officers.

"Russians are insane" is just another of those West-coined derogatory stigmas that you simply repeat.

If you are interested in the subject of the Russian mindset and why Putin is popular, I can recommend the following blog:

Scroll back through a few posts, you'll find some very good analysis there.

and this:
http://futuristrendcast.wordpress.com/2014/08/03/yukos-murder-incorporated-and-the-eu-schizophrenia/

As for the black myths and stigmas, as the "insane" one, read the transcript of this documentary, to see the historic roots:
http://stanislavs.org/black-myths-about-rus-from-ivan-the-formidable-until-our-time/

Yeltsin and to some degree Gorbachjov are seen as puppets of the US, much like Poroshenko is now in Ukraine. During Yeltsin's reign all high-ranking officials had advisors/minders from US, and no significant law got passed without a stamp of approval from Washington. Also, don't forget that Chechen war (on both sides) was also financed by a petty criminal turned oligarch Berezovskij, who, after Yeltsin's death fled to London.

Russia now is busy with restoring what was destroyed and stolen in the "wild 90-s", reinstating its national and economic security that was subjugated to "international laws" even in Russian constitution. Putin is the first leader of Russia in probably the last couple hundred years that really promotes Russia's interests, and that can't go unpunished by the competing forces.
