Bitcoin is famous and journalists like to portray bitcoin as a negative influence on people.
Have you ever seen any positive news about bitcoin on TV ? Mostly no right.
So whenever bitcoin is involved in any crime the journalists put the limelight on bitcoin as if it is because of only that the crime had happened.
People should understand that it's because of the negative mind of the criminals that crimes happen.
All the other things are just a catalyst.
1862  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS DEAD! on: September 08, 2022, 04:14:24 PM
So does that mean the next best crypto i.e., ETH is going take the first spot since it is getting the upgrade to PoS ?
But we see that ETH price is falling too and that is because the entire market is falling.
We have seen such posts previously as well and we just have to wait until the next bull run to prove you wrong.
Just keep waiting to see bitcoin rising again.

Unofficial but official:
Bc Game is now officially a sponsor of Argentina Football Team in the coming 2022 Football World Cup- https://twitter.com/afa/status/1567513030233145346?t=yT2TXfUt3SlgFDJQj8L_cA&s=08
Though they don't have a huge presence in bitcointalk, they are very much active in promoting in various way. This partnership is certainly going to be huge for them in the coming days. I think this has added a new height for them.

Wow, that's pretty huge. I am surprised BC.GAME has gone at such a huge level for promotion but I am really for them at the same time.
I have known BC.GAME from a long time and it feels good to see that they have partnered with one of the best teams playing in the world cup.
Hope to see more. Cheers.

Past week's weird for me, I don't get ads or captcha for maybe 2 years or more now, and that used to include WoF until this half week, now I have to do captcha (2 rows) and it's all about longhair cats lol

Not complaining, just I had to look up what long hair cats were. I guess they meant long FUR.

Sorry for almost random Wink

Isn’t that’s really weird that now we have to keep doing the captcha all the time and that too with unwanted image references. I think these companies should come up with different ideas to confirm whether we are humans or not. I don’t know, I think old school was still best riddle (1+1=2) and when we had to understand the words. The current captcha system is overrated and it’s many times makes it complicated for small pass way.

The old school riddle (1+1=2) "was" best but it was easy at the same time. It can be easily automated and hence bots can crack this kind of captcha easily.
This is why advanced captcha methods started to popup and since bots were able to crack them as well we now have complicated captcha methods.
1865  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 07, 2022, 04:23:17 PM
as this type of boxing match is still selling tickets, the promoters behind this activity will continue to take advantage of this situation. but would be nice if they are setting-up good exhibition matches and not just because of clear intentions of pocketing the money from the boxing community. from time to time, we need entertainment. but should at least worth our pennies. and not just pulled out from somewhere, where the "boxers" themselves are not ready to rumble inside the ring.

There's a risk too on the side of promoters as they should organize an exhibition match that is really living the hype.

They can't just form a match randomly just because they want it. I do agree that there will be more people that will still support exhibition matches as long as those fighters involved are worthy to watch.

A fight between a famous one against a non-popular one can also do the trick. I don't know but money is really flowing at exhibition matches.

The money is flowing into exhibition matches because there are famous names getting involved in those matches.
They are creating a good hype for those matches and hence the tickets are being sold anything.
For example: Logan Paul vs Mayweather match was really hyped and gained a lot of attention.
1866  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Dealing with ISP block on Gambling websites on: September 07, 2022, 03:50:58 PM
Hello there,
I tried accessing TrustDice today, which is one of the first cryptocurrency casino's I've been introduced into, but it wouldn't load, claiming that "Connection is not private". I thought something was fishy at the moment, but quickly realized that it was actually blocked by my ISP.

How should I deal with such an issue? I certainly thought of using a VPN, but I only have a free one, meaning that it could easily be used by another person on the website simultaneously, which could potentially lead to a ban. Stake and Fortunejack are also banned, after making a few guesses, Roobet still works fine.

You can create your own free VPN using free tiers on cloud platforms like Google cloud platform and Amazon AWS.
There are tutorials on Youtube which you can refer to create your own free VPN.
This VPN will have only one country by default where the cloud server would be located.
Since this is solely your account so nobody else would be using that IP address other than you.
So your problem will be solved.

This is the way to go if OP wanted to have an exclusive IP while using VPN, but I think OP have to buy the service that will host the VPN right?  Anyway, I also have problem accessing slots game due to IP restriction from the slot game provider, and I also have the same concern with regards to using VPN even though I am using the premium one.  I might try this one and see if am knowledgeable enough to setup a personal VPN server.

@OP I would suggest you to spend some money for either premium VPN or this VPN stated by pawanjain.  I believe your country isn't on the list of the restricted region so I don't think you will be banned by using VPN as long as you correctly stated your country on your casino profile.

As I have mentioned in my post that there are "free tiers" that are provided by cloud platforms that can be used to setup a VPN server.
There are tutorials on youtube to achieve the same. I have done it once for study purpose and so I can share you the link.
Here the person is using an Amazon AWS cloud with free tier and has configure Open VPN to access the free VPN.

1867  Economy / Gambling / Re: Some Crazy Fun Facts About Casinos And Gambling You Might Not Know. on: September 05, 2022, 01:27:23 PM
This is the first time I heard about gambling in prison, and I am surprised that the authority allows such activity.  As far as I know prison is created to sanction criminals not to let them enjoy casino lives.

You need to watch some documentaries about the community in prison in some countries.

Didn't you know that some prisons are having a much luxury life compared to the usual community outside? Yes, a place where prisoners won't feel they are in an actual prison because of the community there.

That includes having a gambling place inside. What's confusing is, how these prisoners or people there have money to spend on gambling.

There are two ways people in the prison can get money. People in prison don't sit idle but they have to do the work they have been told to.
The work assigned to them sometimes might yield them some money.
There are also prison where the family members can give the prisoners a limited amount of money to buy things inside the prison.
I have read both of these online and can't guarantee it's truth but I think this is how they must be getting money and I guess spending them on gambling.
Could it be possible? When you are in prison then having money wont really be that useful because you cant use it inside because  prisons wont really be having some casinos inside
or stores where they could make out purchase unless if there are some shady activity happening around then it would really be that relevant and also we know that prisons
are really strict to possible contrabands which they wouldnt really allow external sources or passing up things from outside even from its family members.
If this happens then its really just too funny that prisons arent really that prisons at all.  Cheesy

There are some prisons where prisoners can earn money by their work assignments.
Also, prisoners can use that money for their basic hygiene and other things.
There is a article published on this matter. You can refer it here.

1868  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What I've learned after 3 years building an algo trading bot on: September 05, 2022, 01:12:31 PM
Wow, 3 years is definitely a good amount of time. It seems like you must have worked really hard on this bot.
But what happened eventually ? Is the bot ready for action or are you still working on it.
If it is ready then can you please post the trades or some info on it's ROI.
May be if it's giving decent profits then you can sell your bot to others and gain additional income for yourself.

The bot is proof of work and in production mode for more then a year now, meaning running 24/7 on real money. Makes monthly profit on the portfolio no mater what the price or trend is.
My focus was on creating a constant weekly, monthly profit over time, while the bot is totally autonomous, and it has to show has to show consistency of profit over time, Achieved both goals.

Gave some thought  on developing a user interface for it but at this time, i'm not into supporting hundreds or thousands of customers. maybe in the next phase - an autonomous user support..

That's great but you still haven't mentioned the ROI because that's what grabs peoples attention.
It's good that you are gaining consistent profits but can you show us how much profits you are making a month.
It's hard to make money in a sideways and falling market.

At this point it sounds like a good strategy. Also, if at all bitcoin price goes until 14000 you still have the option to add more funds to secure your funds from liquidation.
The chances of bitcoin going to 14000 are slim but as we all know, anything can happen in the crypto community.
But yeah, if bitcoin goes bullish then it will yield some nice profits from this strategy.

1873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: September 04, 2022, 11:55:04 AM
We have to understand addiction to anything including gambling in this case as a challenge and not an international behavior that someone can just walk out from by self excluding himself. Even where a gambling casino bars an addict from playing in their team and condition, such person will find means to satisfy that urge. Addiction is an urge and like most addiction, people need help and if they don't get such appropriate help and able to go away from it, they die from such addition example drug dealing. Gambling addiction need help because when you don't do things in moderation, you are obviously abusing that thing. An addict may not be able to self exclude by themselves alone.

You have a point there, an addict needs to satisfy his urge in one way or the other.
So if a gambling addict self excludes himself from a gambling casino site then he will definitely try to satisfy that urge by doing something else.
So there needs to be an alternative that should be there for the gambler to do whenever he gets an urge to gamble.
Every gambling addict should find an alternative whenever he decides to quit gambling for good.
1874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 04, 2022, 11:47:14 AM
Guys, what do you think about those famous people in other sports (like UFC, MMA) then suddenly will shift into boxing, not via professional boxing, but as an exhibition match? Or those who are already retired but suddenly will participate in an exhibition match against a non-boxer. It was all started by Floyd Mayweather Jr. and then from there, lots of boxing exhibition matches have been executed.

And the sad part, these people who are participating in exhibition matches are being paid more compared to professional boxers.

Many of my friends say that most of these exhibition fights are happening only for entertainment purposes.
Hence most of the fights are scripted and the fighters are being mega paid to do the fight as per the script.
This is how the sponsors are gaining money and I guess this might be the truth. This is the reason why I don't like exhibition fights.
1875  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you think bear market is affecting Bitcoin (Crypto currencies) so badly on: September 03, 2022, 03:42:43 PM
In my own opinion crypto investment just like any other business is not a mare for weaken Hearted follow
Cause it's the time to humble the riches and en-riches the strong minder holders are winners in this space
What do you think will help to help boost the mindset of investors again after all the ordeal?

There needs to be a strong catalyst for the rise of a bull market again. The upcoming Ethereum merge doesn't seem like a strong catalyst though.
But I hope that it at least creates a spike in the crypto marketcap. We will have to wait for a positive news that will start the next bull market.
Holding strongly is the only way we can support bitcoin price at this time.
1876  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have started teaching Bitcoin to my Neighbors on: September 03, 2022, 02:43:16 PM
@Mr. Magkaisa

You are doing a great job. I always like people who teach others about bitcoin and cryptocurrency as a whole.
Although you are doing a great job by initiating this step to teach your neighbors about bitcoin I would say you to go step by step so that they can get to learn it in detail.

For example:
You have to teach them everything session by session. These sessions can consist of different things involved in bitcoin and blockchain.
Your sessions may include the below.

Peer to Peer technology and the decentralized web
Cryptocurrency
Blockchain
Wallets
Making transactions
Block explorers
Different kinds of addresses
Lightning Network
Altcoins
Stable coins
Bitcoin core
Running a full node

These can be explained on a high level. Once all of these are completed you can go much deeper into the technology
Also, while teaching them make sure you include the practicals because showing how it works in practicality will make them understand better.
1877  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Finding value bets on: September 03, 2022, 02:43:00 PM
For me, a bet where I am getting decent returns on a bet that is most probably about to win would be a value bet.
For example if I am placing a bet where I know that I would most probably win this bet and if the returns are over 1.5x times then I would consider it as a value bet.
The chances of winning the bet should be at least over 85% in this case. I have played such bets few times and won in most of the cases.
1878  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Problem, Is it Possible to be a Thing of the Past? on: September 03, 2022, 02:39:33 PM
Definitely yes,it is possible to forget about gambling and focus on other things that will give you money. What I see about gambling is when one is jobless, and he decides to try other means of making money, gambling might tend to him as the surest way to make quick money, and therefore,he will choose to try  gambling, but before he knows it,it has become his habbit.
But one can still leave gambling and forget about it change is constant, and the moment one takes a strong decision on gambling, and decides not to try it again,it is possible to make it a thing of the past. But this has to be a decision that you will never go back on.
What happens is that with gambling you can make money fast and it would be a solution, but I see this as a piece of water, 'because the person in his emergency will want to have all the luck in the world and maybe he will be given and win, but I think that on another occasion if you are looking for the same thing it is more difficult for you to achieve it, since you are already conditioned and it is a huge mistake to see a casino as the best option to put everything there, in money and energy. I know several cases of friends who have gone to physical casinos to play with the intention of seeing it as an ATM and most of the time they return with more losses, they even lose more than normal.

Yes ofcourse, if someone is seeing a casino as a source of income then he must be making a huge mistake.
They should see it more like an entertainment instead of income source. This is where many tend to make mistake and hence lose their money.
Playing games on a gambling site is the easiest way to lose money. So it's better to avoid over gambling by making small bets.
1879  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 03, 2022, 02:09:51 PM
^

I don't understand that either. In my opinion, if a person hides something from his closest people, it means that he understands that when they find out about his actions, they will be disappointed in him. Gambling is not something illegal or immoral which is why I think it is perfectly normal to tell your wife about it.

Personally, I prefer complete trust in the family. It is unacceptable to me if my wife does something without my knowledge. That's why I also hold this position.

You are absolutely right. We should out ourself in the other's shoes and think from that perspective.
What if her wife does the same. Will he accept it and let it go ? Wouldn't he want that her wife should have told him the truth.
Most probably we wouldn't like that so the same goes for us and telling her about it would be the best thing to do in this case.
1880  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play online/offline without your wife or family knowing it? on: September 02, 2022, 05:12:31 PM

Now, this would be something of a thread where users can give tips as to how we play online/offline without our family knowing it. Curious how you do it.

My wife suspected me for almost a year already when I was watching a UFC channel on youtube where they suggest who to bet. Of course, I said No when she asked if I was betting. From then on I just hold my phone whenever she is not around. It's a long argument when your wife suggests buying this or that on amazon yet you gambling your funds. lol

LOL  Grin

Well, gambling/betting online or offline doesn't have to be that difficult to hide actually.
You an go incognito mode when you are gambling online and use crypto casino websites.
For offline based casinos I don't think your wife would be following you. So she won't know it anyway.
But the point is that why do you want to hide it from your wife. You can simply talk to her about it and come to a conclusion.
