1881  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Police reportedly seize South Korea's largest crypto exchange Bithumb on: September 02, 2020, 09:10:06 PM
If this incident was indeed true then I'm afraid, Bithumb will suffer a major blow to its credibility and it would be good that they should settle it at once
This will be a huge blow for the Bithumb, even if they prove this allegation false, this will affect their credibility as cryptocurrency exchange. I bet people now on bithumb is moving out, this is what most of people usually do when their platform gets into this kind of situation. Too bad for Bithumb.

because South Korea's law enforcement and justice system could be harsh and the Government take it seriously especially on fraud and corruption
I'm impressed actually, this is not the first time that I've seen South Korea exposing some kind of this 'fraud allegation', their first turned out to be true. I hope this won't.
1882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: you're making bitcoin complicated on: September 02, 2020, 07:41:07 PM
If a newbie asks what is a good wallet to use?
Bitcoin User will answer the hardware wallet which is not free. Yes it is safest but not a newbie-friendly

Instead of a web wallet that is free and easy to use. Every wallet has its own flaws in order to secure your bitcoin you have to learn how to use it and make it secure.
LOL of course people will suggest the safest one coz they are just a newbie, and also that would depend on the question if they want a free or paid wallet. Not newbie-friendly? how come is a hardware wallet is not a newbie-friendly?

If a newbie asks how to earn bitcoin?
Bitcoin user will say Signature campaign which is also not newbie friendly because you cant join the signature campaign now if you are a newbie.until they discover the altcoin campaign where they can join but will be disappointed sooner or later because of not getting paid and leave bitcoin and tell that it is a scam.

Instead, teach them one of the basic ways to earn bitcoin which is micro earning where they can earn small amount of bitcoin like faucets for them to test bitcoin
That also depends on the question, if the newbie asks a way to gain bitcoin here in the forum then people will suggests joining a campaign, social media campaigns accepts newbie account. And faucets, people are suggesting this since then.

If a newbie asks what good thing about bitcoin? anonymity?
Bitcoin user wants to teach about one the good thing about bitcoin which is anonymity but for a newbie point of view, it will also make confusion because if im the newbie why do I need to become anonymous if im not planning to do bad things.

instead, teach them the basic about bitcoin which is a payment method where they can use online or they can do a person to person transaction

It's part of bitcoin to be pseudonymous and not anonymous, and as for a newbie they should already know that basic definition of bitcoin.
If you're a newbie and asks why do you need to be anonymous online, I'll just ignore you.
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Gameplays and Strategies on: September 01, 2020, 09:46:53 PM
in that one tournament, yes, luck will be a big determining factor. a single suckout can knock the best player out of the game. however, if you run that same tournament 1000 times, i am confident the best players will cash statistically more often. that's what i'm getting at.
Agreed. But that would take like 3 years of playing.

not necessarily. in fact, that's the beauty of online poker. between stacked tourney schedules and multi-tabling, online players can get way, way more games in than live players. if it would take 3 years live, it might take 3 months online.
But would not that be too bad for the player? I mean what if he got the same schedule of playing at the same time is that even legal? I'm just wondering if ever that there is 2 casino who got the same player with their tournament. But to be honest, it is more enjoyable playing poker in live than online, the interaction between the players gives more about than what they said.
1884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Electrum update: A trader lost 1400 BTC on: August 31, 2020, 09:49:48 PM
Terrible shame, any time you’re having a bad day think of this guy. I’ve seen too many of these type of stories, nobody should be keeping that amount of coins on a platform like Electrum.
This is an unforgettable mistake, one day he can tell this to his grandchildren if time comes. I've seen a lot of this too, but this is huge, 1400 BTC is around $14 million dollars, he can bought 2 mansions from it. Software wallet was never safe, there are really bugs and holes in the security. if he's taking 1400 BTC in a single wallet then he probably more in different wallet, if I got that huge amount of bitcoin I'll just put it in a hardware wallet. How I wish  Grin
1886  Other / Archival / Re: Betting Systems on: August 31, 2020, 08:19:27 PM
Yes, and I have seen this in almost all betting/forex/invest/gambling forums. I came to the conclusion that if a strategy exists and works, then it should show the same results regardless of who uses it. A custom bot is ideal. But I have not yet come across profitable strategies (

I think no one will ever share a really profitable strategy, because it will stop working. Almost all paid strategies and strategies that are in the public domain do not work or work for a very short time, showing negative results in the long run.
Strategies should suite the game that you are playing, you can't just use a single strategy on the entire casino games coz you'll be losing.
But I must say that the martingale strategy won't let you lose as much as you have a backing money to bet for another round.

Because the sellers and distributors of such strategies are just interested in the player's negative outcome.
Paying to get strategy is for a whack and brainless. Imagine paying for someone's interest, like paying for your own grave.
1887  Economy / Gambling / Re: Casinos Withdrawal Fees Rise | August 2020 🔥 on: August 31, 2020, 07:49:15 PM
Would there be any other ways for you to cash out? I see bitcoin and ethereum are the top cryptos that have a very huge transaction fee, and I think it also affects how casinos set their withdrawal fees.
Yes it does, apart from the selected network that you want to withdraw say bitcoin or ethereum, there is other fee that you are paying from the casino itself. Bitcoin and ethereum fees are on fire right now, both are freaking high but ethereum's network today is burning  Shocked I was about to withdraw in ethereum but I saw the fee its higher than bitcoin so I jumped back from withdrawing bitcoin.

I guess you need to compare it first when you wanna save some bucks for the fees.

1888  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There are 3 quadrillion times more atoms of gold than "satoshis" on: August 31, 2020, 07:17:47 PM
And why does it matter? I can easily send one satoshi to somebody with Bitcoin wallet. Gold atom can't be sent or received

And the other way round. I can hold a piece of gold in my hand but I can't hold Bitcoin. I can kill someone with a gold bar but I can't do it with Bitcoin. I can make jewelry from gold but I can't show off wearing Bitcoin (unless you count Bitcoin merchandise). There's no point in starting this discussion. It's like saying that strawberries are better than apples because they have more seeds.

Gold sucks if you need to flee you can not carry enough of it.

And I can move 1 billion plus dollars anywhere in the world for under 1 dollar and in under 1 hour.
And gold probably needs a shipment carrier so it can be transferred anywhere else, and plus the truck that you need for land transport. My point is that bitcoin is better than gold when need to move from places.

BOTH SAFELY AND ANONYMOUSLY. As long as it stays in btc

Try moving 1 billion in gold bro. For under 1 dollar and in under 1 hour.
I love your sarcasm lmao, you'd be probably needing atleast a million if you want to transport gold from place A to place B I mean who wants to pay that transport fee? haha
1889  Economy / Economics / Re: The number of jobless people has crossed one million in US - worrying sign? on: August 30, 2020, 09:56:18 PM
This was bound to happen. There is nothing we could do. You would be surprised how the different companies had to close down their outlets at different places due to the pandemic crisis. Recently more than 250 pizza hut outlets were shutdown and most of the people working over there lost their jobs! Looks like the restaurants has been hit the hardest due to the pandemic. We still had to see this even after most governors tried to put economy before lives.

This is due to the covid-19. Many companies have stopped their operations and fired their employees.
You mean paused and get stand by? lmao. I've seen some small businesses closing due to the pandemic but this will not create a massive impact to ones economy. What needs to be reopen now is the huge companies who pays a lot of taxes to cover the expenses during these times.

I think its also an opportunity for the skilled workers to find some online work and try to have their own business setup rather than dependent on others.
Online job and remote works are on demand right now, this is the most effective alternative that we can rely on. But to be honest, starting a business today is great but just make sure that your product or service is appropriate.
1890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yearn.Finance (YFI) hits $28k on: August 30, 2020, 09:42:21 PM
Until now, if I don't have the answer, what really happened to YFI, why did it beat the price of the king of crypto (BITCOIN),
Price does not mean anything for an altcoin to be compared with bitcoin, bitcoin was more historic than it, remember when it was called scam in the news but reaches ATH after a couple of months? The hype is real for altcoins these days, it seems like investors are tire of waiting for the bitcoin to pump but this is not a lose battle for the crypto king. I won't be surprised if this dips for as low as $10K.

is their token more useful than bitcoin or is this just hype Huh In the history that I know, only this time the coin price can reach $28k Shocked
As much as I see on the web it is just more of a hype, I don't see such a huge news about this YFI, not even on a news  Tongue

‏It is true that I made a mistake in the beginning by creating many accounts and was not familiar with the forum rules. But after seeing a set of rules, ‏I created this account and started working again and made an effort to create constructive posts.
This my problem: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2613277.msg55071659#msg55071659
User: ulven
And if it is not possible, can I start working here again? or will I be banned forever.
Forum doesn't restrict you from creating multiple accounts but if one of your account got banned then you are not allowed to use any of your account as per the forum rules.
Multiple accounts is allowed, the only thing why people are creating a lot of account is because of the campaigns, too sad for them campaigns prohibit alt accounts.

Rules is rules mate. But also try to appeal, mods have heart to consider some of you.

Literally you are not allowed yo create new one,it will be considered as ban evasion and that account also will be banned when you caught.
And ban evasion has a zero chances of granting an appeal.

Some people here already suggested an IP ban, but it is too brute.
1892  Economy / Economics / Re: Gold and Bitcoin history on: August 30, 2020, 08:13:35 PM
Uuhm, the two are different things, although have claimed that Bitcoin is digital gold, whatever, but they are both two different things. Gold has so many ways that it is valuable to man and right from time, back in thousands of years, it has been used for a lot of purposes which includes for buying and selling, building, moulding and so many things that are valuable to man.
It is more of being valuable to man, it is more of gold's property, metal intrinsic value. This is why the price of each metals vary like gold, silver and bronze apart from being abundance or not, the metal property is the valued property from metals. Let's say gold and silver, they both have different price in the market for the same amount, silver is cheaper than gold because of rarity driving the difference in prices.

Bitcoin relies  on trust, if people don’t trust it they are not going to make use of it, and that trust is what gives it its value; people chose to believe in it, despite that it’s not tangible like its counterpart, and they invest in it and it keeps growing. No matter what, the both of them are really good.
I'd rather think that it is because of the demand and supply than just a pure trust from people. As you see there is a market for bitcoin, some buys btc and some are selling, if people really trust bitcoin they won't sell it if the price goes higher than they bought it.
1893  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Blockchain on Online Classes for Computer Studies on: August 30, 2020, 07:32:36 PM

I think we should not drag the name of the school when we have problems with our professors, kase as for my experience na galing sa public school at napunta sa private school iba ang approach ng mga teacher, sa totoo lang mas masisipag ang prof sa public kesa sa private but does it mean na ganon din ang school just because they have professors who represents the school? hindi. Nasa mga nagtuturo talaga sa atin, pero ang main reason dito is fucked up ang education system natin sa bansa. Imagine computer related ang course ko tapos meron akong major subject na history with 4 units tapos ang programming subject to 3 units. wtf.

1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greatest Gambling Losers on: August 30, 2020, 06:54:51 PM
Im losing I think the highest is only hundred dollars and on that day I was very sad. I hope those people who lost a lot of money will not losing anymore money because we knee once they lose it is a huge money too.
I don't even deposit and play a hundred of bucks whenever I want to play, say in a day the highest that I can lose is probably $30, I'll quit if I lose $30 and that's my maximum lol. Losing millions may be just normal for them if they are millionaire or billionaire, too high for normal people like most of us here. That's a real gamble, coz think if they did not lose, they earned also millions of dollars.

For sure if they are addict gambler possible to lose all their money they have if they did not have control playing.
I think these people are all rich, they afford to lose that huge amount.

Too bad for the investors 500,000 is huge lalo na ngayong pandemic.
1896  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Legal Matter on: August 29, 2020, 10:36:40 PM
I think Us government is smart enough and by disallowing online gambling they are preserving their Las Vegas casinos from falling down in revenue.I think Las Vegas casinos give to Us government enough revenue from taxes and they don’t want to get less through online gambling. That is the reason Us government does not care at all to allow online gambling.

The problem with disallowing online gambling is that you don't stop people from actually playing all you do is moving it abroad and outside of your jurisdiction. In today's time with everyone having access to internet it doesn't really matter where the casino is based, you can access it from anywhere. And if some websites are banned you can just use a VPN.
I think a country should not outright ban online casinos, better to control and regulate them. And also profit from tax revenues.

VPN is really the only thing what gamblers could do because if you live in a country where online gambling or online casino is illegal or banned, using a VPN is the safest way for you to be able to access in different gambling sites.
You called it 'safest way for you to be able to access gambling sites' when in fact this is a risky one to do so especially when you are just using a free VPN you just found in a google quick search. Why? coz the VPN you are using might be a shared one from different user and it is not impossible for you two to be playing at the same time in one online casino, that would cause trouble for you guys if casino found out that there is 2 players in a single IP address, that would be suspicious to be honest.

The only problem you will encounter in some gambling sites, if they require KYC before you will be able to play.
Well most of the gambling site these days do not have KYC because players hate KYC even if you tell them that the casino will store it privately. bruh they would not know if they really do  Huh
1897  Other / Meta / Re: How well did you know our forum's sections? [GAME] on: August 29, 2020, 10:04:25 PM
Okay I tried it twice, one is when I honestly played it and the other I cheated.

I only got 2 correct answers when I played it honestly omg  haha then I got 14 when I quite cheated. I did use the CTRL F function and would just look for the highlighted text for a hint. I cheated coz I know I won't be getting a perfect score, I only posts on several sections that I know, I posts less in technical discussions.

I had a great time playing this, web developers like you in the forum should come up to something big. Make a group project!  Wink
1898  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin casinos to surge in German market? on: August 29, 2020, 09:41:08 PM
They are not allowing visa and mastercard for betting, but they are also not allowing people to access crypto betting websites like sportsbet,
so it is not an easy solution. Problem is that I think other countries may follow German example, and that is bad.
What is next? They can ban alcohol and bad food, and who knows what next and make one big concentration camp again.
There must be some freedom and responsibility and less restrictions for online betting.

I believe every thing bad should be avoided/ban. But how do you determine what is truely bad or good?
Bad foods, drunkenness, gambling are not good ofcourse. A responsible government should not allow those.
Good Alcoholic drinks in moderation is good for the body. Betting on good games/competitions in moderation is good. Eating good food in moderation is also good for the body.
It's about moderation and consumption of only good things

I forgot to warn, if alcohol, betting, or any particular food cause you addiction, it is wise to avoid them so you don't  abuse or get addicted to them. I believe some are better at controlling themselves (self control) than others.
As they said, "hunger is the first element of self-discipline - if you can control what you eat and drink, you can control everything else", this is true actually coz it makes really sense. Basically it has something to do with the our mood or what we really think towards something.

I think it's a good idea to make something like alcohol  bitter, sour, not-too-tasty  etc, so that many who consume it don't easily get addicted. This also includes bettings and foods.  You should try as much as possible (as producers esp) to remove/reduce things that cause those addiction, and/or  loads the products with lots of beneficial things, so that even when the consumers get addicted to them, they gain lots of goods... and very little to no bad.
I guess you haven't tasted an alcohol before, coz it does not really tasty at all, it is completely sour. anyways..

The addiction will be attained if the mind is not capable of handling itself, you'll be addicted once you think you're addicted to it, you know it to yourself but you just keep doing it coz you are accepting the delusional ;fact; that you are addicted.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Regulations in online Gambling sites on: August 29, 2020, 08:48:06 PM
This will still depend on the online casino.

Despite the different country your living, if you are playing at that online casino, you should follow and respect their regulations. Even if the country you are in doesn't have that regulation, if those casinos have, you still need to follow that and that also means having limitations and proving that you could also take those losses.
Every online gambling has internal rules that correspond to the regulations by which the online gambling country is passed, if those rules conflict with your country's rules then leaves and if following them means you are prepared to respect those rules and accept the consequences.
This is why some casinos are restricted from operating on all the countries since we do have law and regulation differences on each country which conflicts on some casino regulations that theeir country have been set. I'm lucky I'm living in a democrat country, we can enjoy our freedom here with some rules to obey and not be detained  Grin

And so? does it MATTER? lol

futile comparison given between gold and bitcoin, I wished you could gave us some relevance and uniqueness coz we already discussing these two for a while. For the count, bitcoin doesn't have an ATOM, the space that it got is its size, a data size which is not an atom. What you discussed is gold's number of atom vs bitcoin's total denomination.
