I have the same motherboard, MSI Z97 Gaming 5.

Mind if I ask how you got 8 GPUs to work on a 7 PCI slot motherboard?

Thanks!

I would think with something like this from the original manufacturer:

http://www.miningrigs.net/?product=pci-e-port-multiplier

thanks!

I've tried that multiplier, doesn't work. I plugged 6 GPUs and 1 multiplier.
The multiplier wouldn't recognize more that 1 GPU.

If I plug in 5 GPUs, the multiplier will recognize 2 GPUs.

No matter what I tried, total GPUs is still 7.

Maybe the OP has some special software.

thanks!

Or he is just using an M2 to pcie adapter.

maybe? lol
maybe the OP can state , instead of speculation?

Thanks!

Real foto! T-shirt 3d Bitcoin - Shipping Worldwide

Cool to see Mick Bruce from MJB Monetary Metals' design on a T-shirt.  Any chance you compensated him or plan to send a % of sales in his direction, or maybe a free shirt?

Here's his profile on these forums: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=28640

whats with all the copycat scammers tonight?  BTC is up, people go crazy?

thanks!

Hi, You say you made this case?

it looks oddly familiar.  How long did it take to paint?  or are you simply reselling them?

thanks!

Fitting 8 GPU using commodity components in a 4U chassis, of course there are similarities but if you want to get down to it there is a long list of differences.. I am quite aware of Gray Matter,
and they are quite aware of me as well, no ill will on either side, but thanks for asking..
ok , yea they have an 8 card model as well, just making sure that you note that.

what are your differences if i might ask?

thanks!

1889  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: The MintMiner I, II, or III - ETH/ZEC Super Miners on: November 22, 2016, 10:53:41 PM
What about 2 PSU's would they fit inside?

thanks!

You would not be able to get 2 PSUs in this Setup.  It will only hold 1 PSU.

That's pretty limiting don't you think?

Most large 6+ rigs utilize 2 PSU's for load balancing and more.

Is the limitation on the case design itself?

Thanks!

The RIG can fit a 1600W PSU.  I really do not see the sense in using 2 PSUs other than using PSUs that you may have laying around.  I do have 3 Rigs with 6 GPUs that have 2 each 750 PSUs on them just because I had them laying around, but I would not really want to do this as a practice.  The best practice is using the 80% rule - No Loading of 80% for most efficiency.

I'm not sure if I agree with your understanding of the 80% theory as a long time GPU miner....but the case does look very nice, what is the motherboard inside? or is it a custom interface, as you mentioned a plug and mine situation.

thanks!

The mobo is the msi z97 gaming 5.  The cpu temp is at about 40c.  I am wondering if you are experiencing any temp issues with this configuration with all of the airflow having to travel the distance of the rig and then across the motherboard and cpu?

Well if you mean traveling in a "tunnel" all the way across a standard H81 Pro BTC motherboard, let's be generous and say 12" with the force of 3x 190cfm fans, then I would have to say no.

But your question is also relative. With ETH mining your temps will be significantly higher than just mining ZEC for example. These are factors to take into the temperature question for consideration as well as the type of GPU you are using.

I will say that if I designed this case, which I did not, I would have used a similar configuration as yours.

I would have fans at the front of the case for proper intake, a row of fans directly behind the GPU's for pushing the air out the back, and possibly fans at the rear pulling the air out for an extra push/pull kick.

What do you sell just the case for alone?
Do you have accessories for the case if one just wanted he barebones with no PSU, GPU motherboard etc?

I might be interested in seeing the cost for something like that.

Thanks!

Let me know of any questions or suggestions.  Thanks for your time in viewing my RIGs.

What do you consider an "Advanced Gaming Gpu"? Because a lot of them require 2 pcie power comnections on each card some even 3.  Is this rig meant to run with low power lower end gpu's?  Can you list a few gpu models please?

Thanks!

Please note, if you want to purchase an item, payment is required via BTC to me or to an escrow we decide on.

I cannot Reserve or "Hold" an item for anyone.

If someone offers to purchase an item and pays for it, they get it.

Sent you a pm with all the details, offered on the working U3. I might respond a bit slowly. I may also possibly be interested in a few Antminer U2s, although I'll contact you if I feel necessary.

replied with info.

1900  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [AUCTION] AUTOGRAPHED MINING POOLS BOOK & COINS FEATURED IN THE BOOK! on: November 19, 2016, 11:03:20 PM
Nice auction lot here. I was not even aware that this book existed? Were the coins taken out of the airtities?

This book is a brand new offering from the maker of Chasing Casascius.  You can read more about it in this thread:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1684353.0 or the website: https://www.miningpools.co/

The 5oz & 1g coins were handled without airtites by the models.  They were all handled quite extensively in their airtites, including some being exposed to water.  They do appear to still be intact and fully functional.

which coin is that huge one in the water?

thanks!
