1882  Economy / Speculation / Re: This year is dumping ground for bitcoin on: June 16, 2023, 10:41:32 AM
I doubt if truly they could unveil Satoshi Nakamoto true identity not to talk of arresting him. You should  be aware that Satoshi has long built bitcoin void of his control and decisions. Bitcoin belongs to the people, the people have say over it and not the government.

As for the price decline, I see it as an opportunity to buy more and hold because it is the right time to do so and mind you the year is not over yet for your assumptions to be true. It is still remaining more six months to go so anything can happen. Do not be in a haste to conclude or make pronouncement on what you know nothing about.
1883  Other / Archival / Re: wechat Verification; buy and sell on: June 16, 2023, 10:29:41 AM
If you have telegram messenger you can verify your wechat account instantly using wechat verification bot. Simply search @WechatVerificationBot using telegram or go to https://t.me/wechatverificationbot

You can even buy a fully verified account there with wechat pay enabled

How can someone sell his or her verified account to somebody they have no knowledge about. Do you not think selling such an account verified with seller details would put such account owner at risk if the buyer plans buying and using it for nefarious act.
How sure are we that you putting up this post is genuine looking at your profile, you have nothing to loose of you make away with funds fr potential buyers here but I can assure you, members here are wise and smart to fall for this trap OP.

If truly you are genuine OP, I would advise you use the service of an escrow for payment so as to create room for transparency and when that is done I think it will boast a little confidence in your deal because nobody would want to risk his or her fund with a newbie with no activities and reputation here.
1884  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: June 16, 2023, 07:50:49 AM
I have always wanted to ask this question is it that there is no opportunity or they do not want to get rich
Mate please more to this I am confused here.
Actually happiness, Financial solvency depends on mind. If anyone want it properly i think today or tomorrow he will be solvent. So at first we have to positive our mind and then we have to work properly to eradicate poverty. But now a days people being confident less they do not think positive they are not ambitious. People don’t want to stay poor but they don’t know how to be a solvent or how will get financial freedom. So at first people need to gather knowledge. Because learned people never be poor.
So, this is the step that everyone should prioritize if they want to escape poverty. It's just that sometimes there are many factors that do not support a person to have more insight or knowledge. such as time constraints, limited costs for studying and so forth. But as you said that it all starts with mindset. if our mindset is always positive (optimistic) then every opportunity that comes even though it is a small opportunity then we will still make the most of it properly and optimally. because we already have the confidence to do it because we already have high optimism.
Work hard and make up wise decisions in life on which these would be the main steps that you would really be needing if you are really that tending to have some changes in your life. You wouldnt really know
until you would try because there are people who are really that afraid on taking up some risks and this is why they dont really make out some initial steps just because they do really scared of failure.
We know that failure are the stepping stones for us to learn up more and making us more better and on the time that we do encounter things then we could really easily make out some adjustments.
It is really just a matter of own perception and dealings personally whether you would really be tending yourself on getting away from poverty or being poor and it is really just that a common
approach and action if we do speak about changing up your fate and this would be entirely be depending on you.
That's the big point. i.e. never give up before we try it. and never be afraid to face failure because sometimes a failure makes us learn more and can correct mistakes. So that we have a more careful and confident step in the next trial. Keep trying and never give up to keep innovating. because most successful people right now they must have failed at the beginning of their career or the beginning of their trial. but they did not give up until they finally succeeded.

Sometimes you try and fail and you're afraid to try again. It's really hard to deal with a situation like this. We are always optimistic, but what if we lose what we have when we try. I hope no one encounters such a situation.

Nobody wants to be poor. Not every effort gets better in the end. I think the most important factor here is the mental state of the person. In any case, it is necessary to strive to save yourself and not give up.

Truly most people are afraid of trying for the fear of failing but the truth remains that how do you learn when you do not try, how do you get the experience when you do not encounter challenges. Like they say experience is a teacher and it is only when you have gotten the experience that is when you can be able to say more about it as the case maybe.

With respect to being mentality fit, your thoughts are right because one needs to be in a good mental state of mind before one can be able to do anything. That is why you see some organization conduct series of test and other activities and exercise to see the mental state of mind or wellbeing of their staff or employee before they embark upon anything or employment. So one needs to be in the right state of mind if one must be able to scale through any situation situation they find themselves in.

For the sake of being a brother's keeper, I say make I ask if anybody know what's up about nelson4lov inactive for forum abi him just take a break?

Hope all is well with him?

Just checking.

~Snipped
He is good the last time I got in touch with him this year, he has other things he is doing that is taking his time.

Hello Everyone, Nelson4lov here once again. Thanks to Charles-Tim for the heads up about this thread. I'm alive amd well - I haven't been sick in a long time. So a lot of things happened in the past year and some changes with led to my absence here on the forum. For one, I just bagged a B.Sc in computer science - First in my family and it was possible because of the opportunities this forum and Bitcoin gave to me. It was really hard but God made it possible and I'm done now (Internal and external defense) couldn't be more happier.

Secondly, I've been playing around with a lot of development stuff lately and that has been taking my time. My final year project was a blockchain based system that I built on Celo blockchain and it was fine so moving forward, I would keep doing that in addition to reviving my activities here on the forum. That, and figuring out my next move/plan in life now I can finally tick B.Sc off my wish-list.

Thanks to everyone who cared/noticed my absence (everyone I tagged and others I couldn't tag - I'm still rusty with the quotes)  Wink – Thanks once again. I appreciate you all.

Na so e suppose to be. Na good news I just read here. Congratulations on the successful completion of your project mate and your first degree. It is the Lord's doings and it is marvelous in our eyes.
Life is a gradual process with different phases. I am glad that you have gotten to this phase now and looking forward to the next.

I am very much moved you did a blockchain related project and if I may ask, can I access it ? So I could be able to know more on its use case mate.

Do well to respond here to the Link of the published article of your project if you have already published it or if you can, send me the full material.

Thanks.
1887  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Promoting Meaningful Engagement in the Local Board on: June 15, 2023, 10:43:44 PM

Please let’s encourage one another at every level as we soar higher.

Shalom🤍

It is good we be our brothers keeper. As you have said encouraging each other is a good idea to moving forward but I think this would be very much appreciated when it is reciprocated. No one would be that happy when after you have encouraged another with all your might and strength and when it gets to you it is a thing of being ignored. It is very disheartening and disappointing to experience such.
An African proverbs says " when the left washes the right, the right reciprocates by washing the left as well" it is natural and can never be ignored or bypassed.

For the captcha, it is not a thing to worry about as it can be synchronized to get a new one if you have any issues with the current one you are on.
1889  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam targeting Metamask wallet user's on: June 15, 2023, 08:18:38 PM
One thing I know for sure is that once you have an application stored or already installed in your phone, when ever the application is outdated or a new version is available, one you open the application, the update notice pops up immediately for your actions of updating it or you get a notification on your phone based on your settings but sending random messages to people is what I do not get. I still know some people would fall for this scam so easily as they have no knowledge about how it works.
OP you did well by calling the attention of members here to seeing this mail you received. It would help a long way to calling to the consciousness of members here to look out for such mail and quickly delete it from their nox so as not to get scammed.
1890  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 08:05:18 PM
I'm fine with just telling your kids about what is Bitcoin and how do you use Bitcoin because it's one of your source of income. But they are still kids and you should teach them with the appropriate way to teach them, if you tell them how to invest and teach about advanced stuff to your kids then it's not the right time to do it and you should not do it in the first place. They will know that as the time they are growing up.
It is good of the opinion in teaching the kids the basic fundamentals about bitcoin to keep them knowledgeable and informed rather than investing because at that age they are not matured to be able to absorb the the technicalities involved in bitcoin technology. So teaching them on investment is rather not good for their age s they will not be able to contain it.
It would be nice they have information about bitcoin on at their finger tips so they can be able to enteract with others when ever they are in public and such conversation comes up. It is a thing of pride to them that they already know about it and would not be left out of the discussion.
1891  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Received Email from Localbitcoins on: June 15, 2023, 07:53:06 PM
This is so kind and generous of them. After a long time of closing and inactivity, they deemed it fit contacting their clients to still attempt to withdrawing back their funds which I still rare. There are others that absconded with their clients funds and could not be traced till this very moment and how about those that misappropriated finds kept under their custody too.

This little kindness should be appluaded and not criticised. OP did well to bringing it here for the forum to see. OP you did fine.
I think users of the exchange who have funds still pending withdrawal should do that immediately since they have a prior notice for withdrawal.
1892  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 07:09:20 PM
Weak hands usually have a problem in the network, they sell at any event that causes panic and they don't buy until the price starts to rise, it is great that you don't intend to use BTC the way weak hands do. From your post you have learnt things about BTC investment, but take note that BTC is also a currency, a permissionless and censorship resistant one, so you should also have confidence that BTC is a currency that cannot be controlled, hacked or shut down by any government and one you can use without anybody's permission, this is the most important thing about the network.

These weak hands are more of newbies that are inexperienced about Bitcoin. They panic sell at any slightest fud or fomo to getting back investment or possibly a little profit gained which causes a big price crash giving room for more whales to accumulate more bitcoin and wanting to control the market.

I just assume they are not knowledgeable enough to have studied about Bitcoin before getting involved in it. They are even worst than daily traders because traders too do not panic sell the way some newbies do and that has been the problem of price fluctuations in the system coupled with other factors too.
Are most newbies weak hands?

I dont think so because i take myself as an example, when i started my bitcoin journey as a newbie, i have the steel hands mentality and at that i always look out to the best possible opportunities to buy more rather than selling because as a newbie all I aimed to start more bitcoin and I don't even have that thought of ever selling no matter what the condition of the market will be, this approach really helps in my bitcoin accumulation journey.

So not all newbies are weak hands and just as the ops have said, he has taken the right step by studying well for the task ahead and the DCA value of Bitcoin regardless.

I do not doubt the fact but I believe that it is possibly so because of their inexperience as newbies. On the normal, nobody would want to  risk their investment to the point of losing out but rather gain back their investment forgetting that at that situation it would be better holding for long in other to recover all together with their profit.
Like I said research and inquiries keeps one abreast and knowledgeable about a subject matter so it is possible some newbies takes their time to do the needful by giving it an attempt to broaden their experience.
1893  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 05:15:45 PM
I was shocked that you did not have the same perspectives as other newcomers. Most newcomers lack patience, so they make decisions based on their emotions, which is extremely risky in terms of investment and trading. An investor who is quickly frightened usually has little expertise about Bitcoin. Certain individuals believe that volatility has no advantages, however volatility is the reason that certain people become wealthy quickly. If you know enough about Bitcoin, you will believe that the price will skyrocket in the near future.

I believe sometimes it is the get rich quick mentality that makes most newbies not really take out time to do the needful by  doing their research properly in knowing more about bitcoin. Sometimes, it all points towards the way and manner whomever onboarded them had explained it to them on how bitcoin works. Newbies understanding hovers around making profits without putting other factors into considerations. This has caused them their funds as most fall easily for scam, some get hacked and some end up loosing their funds in the course of trading when they have no idea and know not the basic fundamentals in what they have engaged themselves into.
1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New question for experts on: June 15, 2023, 04:21:01 PM
Attending such function is not necessary but it is some worth important. Seminars creates avenue to get acquainted with more projects and like-minded people around the world. There you can meet investors and good project teams if you have any project too, you could have the opportunity to showcase yourself to the Crypto world to see who is looking for it.
Concerning a country's ban on Crypto and the possibility of Crypto enthusiast holding a seminar there is very risky. There you could be exposing yourself to risk because sometimes the government can send in agents to go monitoring the events activities and possibly making a prosecution on those who organized the event and likewise the attendees too which is not safe.
1895  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: June 15, 2023, 04:05:59 PM
KYC is not in not safe  in any way. KYC is a tool and process set up by the government through the centralised exchange to checkmate Crypto trading activities which before you sign up with any centralised exchange, you will need to agree to their terms and conditions which includes them giving your details to any third party by law when the needs arises. So therefore upon giving them consent, you already agreed to them using your details for any thing and I will not be surprised if they trade people's details for Money because they have it full in their possession and come to talk of it, you as a client don't know what is going on with your details your shared with them all in the name of kyc which makes it very risky. Initially, this was not the plans of Satoshi Nakamoto for bitcoin but the government which we have been avoiding has made their way in by including kyc which they are in for. With kyc on exchanges I do not think there is anything anonymous anymore and this is not safe.

KYC makes a hacker's life easier by putting all of your personal information in a single place. This makes centralized exchanges less safer to use than decentralized exchanges. Besides, KYC greatly defeats crypto's original purpose of eliminating the middleman. It's like going back to the era of traditional banking.

For crypto/Blockchain tech to achieve its full potential, KYC must be eliminated for good. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can do about it if we want governments to support crypto. No KYC, means a hostile environment for crypto/Blockchain tech from governments and banks alike. At least, we have many options to choose from. It's up to you to act responsibly by never putting large amounts of crypto in a centralized exchange. Who knows how far will the industry go? Just my opinion Smiley

There is no way a centralised exchange would operate without a government approval in their locality. KYC is what the government uses to keep track of exchange activities so they could know the flow of funds and assets. Although the essence of blockchain was for anonymity. One could remain anonymous while carrying out a transaction but the fear of  sponsoring terrorist, money laundering and lots more have made the government interface into the system making the centralised exchange the arm of government on blockchain to monitor financial flows onchain.
1896  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We shall separate commercial exchanges from investment exchanges on: June 15, 2023, 03:53:37 PM
OP if I may ask you this question are you aware that these activities are all financial connected? Do you know that these activities are being monitored by the government for certain reasons? Do you realize that this opinion of yours some how dose not reflect a true exchange policy?

The government I think would not allow such to happen because they would want all financial activities be monitored under their raiders. Exchange that does only conversion of funds to token vice versa are still doing the work of p2p but the difference is that they are being monitored by the government to know the transaction details and for task payment as well likewise the trading aspect of it too. Differentiations in that manner would likely not be feasible because if the tendencies of the swap exchange arises to boycott KYC, the government would react and it would cause more harm than good. So bringing anything contrary to the already existing government standing order would hold no water.

1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 15, 2023, 03:24:28 PM
From the looks, OP said bitcoin is illegal in their country and possibly op is doing bitcoin trading or investment in secret way so the government can not come for OP. If OP would say that he would gift his wife as a surprise gift then it is assumed that OP wife is not aware OP does bitcoin trading and possibly she does not know much or anything about bitcoin.  I think if OP does not do the needful by educating his wife about bitcoin then I think his wife might definitely not know the importance and value attached to bitcoin and would definitely not care about the gift.
OP can invest for his wife on bitcoin then possibly buy a gift for his wife while he keeps  the bitcoin investment a secret from his wife and concentrate on teaching her to know and broaden her knowledge about bitcoin before giving her the surprise bitcoin gift.
That would be very much romantic OP.
1899  Other / Archival / Re: No panic while holding my Bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 03:09:04 PM
OP, it is nice you took out time to learn more about bitcoin before taking any steps. Learning keeps you knowledgeable and therefore would guide you through knowing more about any thing you deem fit of knowing based o your interest. I must commend you for the task you have yourself because not everyone would want to do such when it is very accessible to them irrespective of the fact that they do not have idea of the system as it works but are eager to get it without prior knowledge.

I must remind you of this. Do not keep your assets in decentralized exchange as they are a third party to your assets and as such, you do not have access to the private keys so therefore it is very risky to do so. You should have a self custodial wallet where you can transfer your funds to for your safety.

Remember this "not your keys, not your coin"
1900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop stressing kids with bitcoin on: June 15, 2023, 02:18:21 PM
Smartphones didn't exist, and the Internet wasn't wireless when I was a kid, but that doesn't mean that the kids of today don't need to understand smartphones or know how to use Wi-Fi. Times change, new technologies appear, and new generations need to know about these things. Nobody should force children to learn anything, and one doesn't need to believe in Bitcoin or be an expert. But providing general knowledge about it and about other important things in the world wouldn't hurt. Why not both invest and educate?
Providing general knowledge for the kids is very important because that helps sharpen and put them in shape of the current trend. You can imagine you being in a place or gathering where discussions are held in the latest technological innovation in the world and you have nothing to contribute or talk about it. That is very bad and shows how backdated one is not to talk of it being in a recognized function.

I believe teaching them about the bitcoin as a new digital finance could be helping them be abreast of knowledge. It does not necessarily mean that you must teach them about it to start doing some financial engagement with it but rather let them have a little knowledge about it so as not to be an island or get lost When ever they are in the midst of their friends or peers and such conversation is going on. They too can contribute to the discussion and not be a dumb.
