Newcomers will go up the ranks if they can read more than just spam and start reading what good posters on this topic are posting. They should be aware that participating passionately in the forum discussions is more important than ranking higher. The passion begins with understanding the communication of those who contribute well to this site; understanding what they say causes you to identify with them.

It's still up to them if they have the curiosity to know more about this forum and what good can it do aside from getting the desired ranks and getting paid weekly. Navigating from discussions to discussions will help them learn the basics about this forum and get some information that could be useful for themselves to grow while also getting themselves informed from outside sources to know if they're reading the right things. But if there's no curiosity and passion then I'm afraid that giving advice won't do any good.
1882  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: November 01, 2022, 10:44:48 AM
Odds for this match:

Bivol, Dmitriy @ 1.21
Ramirez Sanchez, Gilberto @ 4.30

https://stake.com/sports/boxing/international/international-matchups/42951047-bivol-dmitriy-ramirez-sanchez-gilberto

Bivol is still the heavy favorite and what a huge gap difference against Zurdo Ramirez.

Betting options are still limited to Moneyline with less than 2 weeks left before the match.

Not bad for some bettors who would like to risk some few bucks to bet on Ramirez because his odds are really juicy but I guess it's not that easy considering that he is up against Dmitry Bivol who defeated Canelo Alvarez. As for me, I'll wait for the other options regarding this fight and I think I might splurge a little on Ramirez's odds. Few more days to go before we will witness this fight.

In my opinion, Gilberto Ramirez has a great chance of winning this fight.

Ramirez has a huge boxing experience.  He hasn't lost a single fight.  He has a very strong motivation to win the title from the Russian boxer.

Mexican boxers are known for their will to win (at one time I was very impressed by Jack London's story "The Mexican").

Ramirez is not an amateur, he is a professional and has always been a professional.

Now he has a great desire to win.  I think that now he is training hard and is completely focused on preparing for the upcoming boxing match.

Both of them has an experience, it's just that Ramirez got more bouts than Bivol but in terms of professionality, Bivol is not that really behind Ramirez and certainly view them as even because they're both hungry to have their own legacy and be the undisputed champion in the light-heavyweight division if one can defeat Beterbiev or Yarde. Another thing, I don't recall that someone here labeled Ramirez as an amateur in this thread, but one thing is for sure, this will be an epic fight.
I can not deny that it is a great opinion bro, I also think so, for me Bivol is a boxer who is not looking for something minimal, for me he is looking for the big, obviously everything is related to money, between better and The more advanced the boxer is and the more famous he is, the more fame he will be able to grab, and I think this is clear to him, therefore, for me, that is the reason why he does not accept a rematch against Canelo at the moment, perhaps he does not. He looks so interesting, in fact he is going for more titles, but he wants to get more triumphs that guarantee him the best fights and he wants to be the most famous, that translates into more money.

Canelo does not give up and is looking forward to this result:

Canelo Alvarez waiting on Bivol vs. Ramirez outcome on Nov.5th before he decides next fight

Quote
By Sean Jones: Canelo Alvarez is waiting on the outcome of the November 5th fight between WBA light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol and Gilbero’ Zurdo’ Ramirez before he decides who he’ll fight next May.

Canelo (58-2-2, 39 KOs) lost to Bivol last May in Las Vegas, but after the Mexican star initially said he wanted an immediate rematch to try and get revenge for the loss, he later changed his mind, deciding to fight Gennadiy Golovkin.

Source: https://www.boxingnews24.com/2022/10/canelo-alvarez-waiting-on-bivol-vs-ramirez-outcome-on-nov-5th-before-he-decides-next-fight/

Bivol right now is not interested in revenge fights because he is quite busy getting his own legacy, he can't just cater Canelo even Bivol have the right to demand about the business cuts. Canelo can activate the rematch whether Bivol wins or not but he should know that Bivol is not prioritizing him especially if he will get a win here versus Ramirez because currently, Bivol's vision are locked on Ramirez and Beterbiev or Yarde next.
1883  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: November 01, 2022, 10:08:35 AM

Is there a rumor about that why this fight didn't successfully execute this year?

The rumors are senseless, both camps are just blaming each other and we don't know who is telling the truth. What we like to see is this fight going to happen this year but until now there's no positive news, so let us stop expecting it's gonna happen this year or even next year as most likely one of them will move up in weight.

That is the problem right there because none of them is willing to disclose some information regarding on why the fight didn't materialize, we can speculate all we want on who is ducking who but we cannot prove it because all the information are kept behind the curtains. Honestly, we have had high hopes for this one that it would happen easily but the exact opposite happened.
1884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does altcoins actually have the potentials of generating benefits to investors? on: October 31, 2022, 07:53:00 PM
As a beginner into the trading business, I'm always scared of putting my money into altcoins but I do hear some people talk about how they make profits altcoins.

So I decided to come here to seek the views of experienced traders on the potentials of altcoins.
Yes, there's the potential.

But not all of them will give you that potential so be careful in choosing them. It's because too many altcoins will just give you the hype feeling but eventually, that's going to be gone and you'll never like it.

Bitcoin, altcoins, or any projects, you need to pick the best that you can base on what you know about them. You DYOR before investing your money but if you're trading, you just can look for it on exchanges, see the volume and have them spot on.
Altcoins have always the potentials to be profitable in the future but only good and established altcoins will do. Some are just too good to be true projects that will only create hype at the beginning and then eventually lose their value in the long run, so we should learn to avoid those type of projects. Also, it’s said that altcoins have bigger risks than bitcoin, but investing both into good altcoins and bitcoin will give us assurance to generate more profits in the end. No need to focus only in altcoins, reserve funds for bitcoin since it will always be the most prominent asset in the market.
1885  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - How high can it go? on: October 31, 2022, 07:24:05 PM
I am just debating if I should continue to DCA into Bitcoin or sell all and put into stronger altcoins which will see better ROI over the next few years.
If you have funds to spare for doing so then just go and also if you have trust btc all the way. But saying that you are holding for 10yrs or more then go for it. Just dont expect a lot of what figure it could be cause no one could really know if btc will be a great investment but one thing is for sure. 10 yrs from now the people who dont uses btc are probably stepping up on using it.
It all matters on your faith. If you believe that bitcoin has huge potentials to succeed more in 10 years hodling, then take the risk and go for it. But always remember, investments have no guaranteed profits, we may lose or make profits in the long run so learn to be open minded too. As long as you only invest on the amount you can afford to lose, I guess that’s fine as you never end up regretting when things don’t work in the end.
1886  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is hodling top 10 Marketcap coins a good tactic? on: October 31, 2022, 06:51:40 PM
Thank you for the great effort you made in creating this topic, for me I do not like to take risks so I always choose Top Ten coins in the market to put the largest part of my capital in, I do not like to risk big numbers so I use these top ten coins because they are guaranteed in the future , while I am risking a small section of my capital in shitcoins with lots of zeros (there is a good chance it will multiply many times) and when it goes up a little I sell it and make some profit.
Well it’s better to just invest in these top ten coins than to risk your money exploring and hoping for huge profits out from these shitcoins and meme coins. Although investment comes with certain risks, but if you invest in established coins and coins that have proven their utility overtime, then the risk is lessen. So yes, hodling these top 10 coins is good and will ensure us for safer investments.
1887  Economy / Economics / Re: 5 things you should not do with your money to get rich on: October 31, 2022, 06:13:12 PM
Money is hard to get but a lot easy to spend, and this becomes bad if there's no laid out plan of how much one aims to spend. There's a part the op mentioned which is quite true of money; it has the tendency to get you a new friend or a close relative as of course, you're valuable when you have something to offer.

Applying frugality in spending helps to curb unnecessary waste and helps save money as spending unnecessarily would quickly run one into a lifestyle of dependency and debt.

It’s not bad to spend sometimes especially if you know it would be useful to you but in most cases, learn to spend mostly on your budget so you will never be financially broken in the end. Although there are times you get influenced with your friends to spend on luxury things like they do, that’s fine as long as you never adopt it and you stay low key and frugal in all your expenses. That way, you will get to save and earn more especially if you insert doing some good and profitable investments like crypto do.
1888  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A newbie with 100$ on: October 29, 2022, 08:54:51 PM
There is no minimum anyway. Just expect a long-term hold right now just from how Bitcoin went down. Really a cheap price for me as of the moment if you would ask me, but the decision would still be up to you.
About if "that would get you anywhere", in a longer term, it is obviously yes.
Since we are still in bear market condition these days, then expect that long term hodling is the best way to gain profits. And of course, invest in bitcoin and hold for long term. $100 is never too small or too big, as long as you invest it in the right and established coin, and with bitcoin you can speculate that it will grow $200-$300 depending on how many years you plan to hold it.
1889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you Consider the Price of Bitcoin to be More Important than its Purpose? on: October 29, 2022, 08:34:21 PM
The price of bitcoin is a major attraction among the common people. When they initially get into cryptocurrency they never know anything about the real purpose. Even I don't know the real technology and the innovative things that made me into cryptocurrency.

Only after getting into the forum I realised how important is the privacy and how banks are stealing our money and having control over our funds. As if now we've got around 5% of the world population using cryptocurrencies in some means. If the price isn't this high or it hasn't experienced such a massive growth surely the usage percentage will be around 3%
I think it’s very obvious that we are only after with the price of bitcoin the moment we enter bitcoin investment. We chose it because it may guarantee good profits and huge returns. However, as we learn to value more bitcoin and even established altcoins, we also get to know better it’s real purpose and how it will be very beneficial to the people. And it’s really a good thing that we come to invest in bitcoin, having both a good and impressive price plus an ideal purpose that will greatly help us to see financial growth and stability.
1890  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Dmitry Bivol vs Zurdo Ramirez on: October 28, 2022, 03:35:19 PM
8 more days before this big fight at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates happens.

So according to Oscar De La Hoya, the promoter of Gilberto "Zurdo" Ramirez believes that his protege will stop Dmitry Bivol and then proceed into a mega all-Mexican fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. De La Hoya believes that Bivol countered Canelo very well because the Mexican superstar only threw single punches at a time. De La Hoya mentioned that Zurdo will be throwing combinations that will deter Bivol's plan to counter. And lastly, he also believes that Zurdo is too big and strong and he can knock out Canelo.

We'll see how De La Hoya's assessment in this fight fares. It is true though that Zurdo being an underdog can add extra fire and determination to train harder.

Wow! Quite some big words from the Golden Boy himself, well, I'd say that we will likely see it very soon if his protege can stop Bivol at the height of his prime. Not underestimating Ramirez but he should at least show some effective moves first because barking won't do the trick, going into Bivol's mind is not effective. But for this Mega all-Mexican fight? I highly doubt it'll happen, Canelo doesn't have a thing with Ramirez because he is not the one who defeated Canelo in the first place and he also said that he is not interested in fighting his own people because it's nonsense as they are both representing the same country, Mexico.
1891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 28, 2022, 02:28:43 PM

Crawford is really in an odd situation if he remains a free agent. He is not Canelo that can easily jump to any promoters and networks but still dictates everything in the deal. If he fights the WBO number 1 contender, the undefeated banger Vergil Ortiz Jr., it will be promoted by Golden Boy and DAZN will televise it. Highly risky for Bud with no legacy returns except money. Ortiz is a superstar in the making. Huge fanbase and is a very charismatic guy. I believe Crawford-Ortiz will beat all of Spence's previous PPV buys. But Crawford can also move up to 154 and hunt for his 4th division title but he seriously needs a promoter to depend on.

I'm also thinking the same way, I also thought that a unification fight between Crawford and Spence is the next thing to happen when Bud haven't re-sign with Bob Arum. We all know that Arum is not inclined in these situation but without him, Crawford's alone and nothing to lean on in these times, also his situation has gotten worse because Spence's camp is playing on him. He badly needed a promoter and Mayweather is there ready to accept Bud under his banner to help him in the business side. I hope he will seek help to make this happen because he is getting older.

Aside from that, I think it's much better for him to fight Charlo in 154 pounds rather than risking his career for getting nothing while fighting the #1 contender, Ortiz.

Yeah, Mayweather really wants to sign Bud. The problem with Mayweather Promotions nowadays is it is just becoming one of the dummy promotions for PBC who's hiding under a managerial license. Mayweather is not the same guy anymore that wanted his promotion to become big like De La Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. And we also do not know how much Bud trusts Mayweather knowing the guy is a very close friend to Spence's team like Ellerbe his former manager and Al Haymon the owner of PBC.

Jermell Charlo the undisputed champ of 154 is from PBC too and he already said that he won't give Bud a shot at his undisputed belts. Charlo a very close friend of Spence wants Bud to work his way up to the rankings and earn his shot. So Bud can either get a tune-up at 154 or request the WBO to give him a shot at the WBO 154 belt which Charlo can vacate if it's still reluctant. It seems like these boys of PBC are trying to stop Bud from becoming the first-ever undisputed champion in 2 (Spence at 147) or 3 (Charlo at 154) divisions in this 4 belt era.

Money-wise DAZN has the deepest pocket in boxing right now. They got the biggest money-makers in boxing Canelo, AJ, Usyk, and potential future superstars Vergil Ortiz and Ryan Garcia. Bud can sign with them but it might also mean no more Spence and Charlo.

Really? I didn't know that Crawford's situation is much deeper than what I've thought. That's indeed too bad because all his years are wasted being under Bob Arum's management because Bob didn't let Bud build his legacy. Now, he is being rejected to have a shot in an undisputed fight both in welter and super welter. But I don't understand, why is it a bad idea if Bud sign under DAZN? Enlighten me mate.

To be fair, Bob Arum did his job well. Legacy-wise, Crawford's credentials are also assured in the Hall of Fame once he retires, unlike Spence who needs to work more on his career if he wants to be remembered and enters the Hall of Fame. Good friends Spence and Charlo avoiding Crawford is more of a personal and political issue.

If Crawford signs with DAZN, the network might not allow Showtime or Fox to solo-televise a possible Crawford-Spence or Crawford-Charlo. DAZN will want a joint network deal which is normal when 2 superstars collide like Pacman-Mayweather televised via HBO and Showtime. Last year, PBC's undefeated WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (Jermell's twin) and undefeated former champion Jaime Mungia of Golden Boy Promotions failed to materialize because PBC do not want a joint promotion deal. PBC wanted to solo promote the event and a rematch clause if Charlo losses but they will let GBP solo promote the possible rematch. PBC is the hardest to work with when it comes to co-promotion fights. Thus Crawford signing with DAZN might mean goodbye to Errol Spence and Jermell Charlo fights.

But personally, if I were Crawford, I will talk to Matchroom and signs a deal if possible.

Legacy-wise if we are talking about Crawford's sure seat in the Hall of Fame but for the literal legacy, Crawford doesn't have that yet because one boxers dream is to be an undisputed boxer in their most comfortable division, that is why Crawford wanted to try a shot in welter and super-welter but Spence and Charlo doesn't want him to have his chance.

And if Crawford will sign to Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing then he should at least let Hearn do the talking first because we don't know, Hearn can find some way. But if the PBC wanted a solo television then Hearn and Crawford should agree with it because they had the right to demand as they are in the A-side.
1892  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 28, 2022, 10:38:40 AM
With or without Russ , Lakers still lost so I don't think the problem is Russ and most likely the entire team has a problem and they don't want to play together anymore. But wait , they are not alone because 76ers are looking like Huston 3 years ago when Harder was trying to win games by himself and he is trying but he is trying alone ... . Anyway, I'm happy with my team Bulls with the W and Bucks gave no chance to Nets...another Lakers and 76ers story is happening there as well. Grin

The Lakers have started this season really badly, I honestly didn't think they would lose so many games. They actually didn't play badly against the Denver Nuggets, but the overall performance of the team wasn't enough to win the game. The Nuggets have an amazing player like Jokic.
The Lakers need new shooters to get out of this situation, with new players to replace Westbrook, the team could get a lot better Smiley

Current standing of the Los Angeles Lakers is 0-4 which is indeed a very chaotic and frustrating start for the franchise this season, their next game is against the Timberwolves and I bet their standing will turn to 0-5 because AD is still questionable to return in that said game while Westbrook is also probable because of his Hamstring Injury.

It looks to me that Westbrook's situation has gotten worse and I think there would be no team in the league right now who will accept Westbrook if in case the Lakers will choose to trade him. I guess it's just too late.
1893  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Jamaine Ortiz - October 29 on: October 28, 2022, 10:15:00 AM

This is the first time that I saw this kind of odds in boxing, the figure is almost even on a win by Lomachenco by decision or knockout because i thought that one of them (either KO or decision) must be enticing to the bettors to bet, i mean it should have been 2.xx so that those who like to bet on higher odds will be attracted  Smiley.

Nevertheless, I will still bet on Loma to win by KO as I think this would be some sort of warning to Haney that he is the real deal in this division.

Yeah, for Loma backers, this is the best betting options that we got, either by KO or by decision.

Stake has it,

So it's better to just really choice one betting option and then bet on a decent money to have a good return.

In any case, almost everyone should agree that Loma will win this fight (no offense to Ortiz backers).

Been in this discussion for quite some time and I haven't read that someone here is Jamaine Ortiz's fans, some are just saying that Ortiz is just too underrated compared for Loma which is true but some also have said that Loma should still take some extra precaution because Ortiz might be the 2nd Teo Lopez that will give him an upset. Well, about that, they truly have a point because Ortiz here is also an undefeated boxer who wanted to be a star someday, so a defeat here is the least he wanted.
1894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A disheartening true life winning story on: October 27, 2022, 05:18:22 PM
Surely this situation just rarely happen, we don't even know if the lottery is telling the truth that there is indeed some technical malfunctions that is why the winner's ticket will be considered as void. But that is just too unreasonable especially when winning the lottery doesn't happen to someone that often, in fact, you might win a lottery but that will happen once in your whole lifetime. Anyway, what's the update of this case?
1895  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terence Crawford vs David Avanesyan December 10 on: October 27, 2022, 04:57:21 PM
Since to fight a strong opponent will take longer than usual just to sign a contract, this one is not that bad because after all they might not looking to gather multi million dollars here, rather it's just for Crawford to keep him in shape before he finds a worthy opponent like Spence or other world champions. Crawford will win this fight easily because this opponent, is not in his rank in terms of strength and speed.

There's no other world champions to fight except Errol Spence Jr. in 147 lbs and Jermell Charlo in 154 lbs, Crawford can't go higher or lower than that. I mean he can but his strength and speed will be not the same anymore and Crawford is already already 35 years old to do such things because welterweight and super-welterweight will be his limit. What I'm surprised is that Crawford chose David over the #1 contender in 147 lbs which is Jaron Ennis.

1897  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 27, 2022, 03:16:03 PM

It wasn't Jordan Clarkson's fault on why Zion had that injury, it was a clean block and it's been replayed many times after the incident. It was a scary fall though, the Pelicans needed to give Zion some rest first while the season had just started which they did because Zion wasn't in the game earlier versus the Mavericks. Anyway, is there any update regarding Zion's situation and Ingram too?

Yes, I agree with that, anyone who saw the video would easily tell that it was a clean block. Zion made a wrong move when trying to dunk the ball as he puts the ball behind him, I think he wasn't expecting that Clarkson was behind him, so that happen, but it was just a clean play, no intention to injure him.

No doubt about that, Zion carelessly made that move and dunk the ball without having some extra precaution that one player of the opposite team will chase him all the way down and it happened that Clarkson was the nearest player to do the block. It happened so fast because it was just a fast break, I hope Zion got some lessons on this one because he and his team cannot afford to lose him again this season.
1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think China will lose by banning Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2022, 03:59:10 PM
I am bullish on the future of Bitcoin as a technology.

We all know that China has a total ban on cryptocurrencies, including but not limited to no mining, no circulation, no trading, no banking services, no listing on exchanges.

What do you think countries have to lose by making this choice?

China had ban cryptos. The main reason for the ban is the decentralised nature of the coin for which they aren’t able to impose tax on the coins. So they literally banned it. But guess what people are still using and holding cryptos. The country’s aren’t losing anything if we see thoroughly. It’s the people are suffering as they are missing complete independence on their own money. Nevertheless let’s see how much far this will be stretched.

In short, China banned crypto and anything related to it because it is something they can't control, getting some tax out of it is the least of their problems. This country doesn't surprise me already because they are also like North Korea, but the difference is the citizens of China have a little freedom and choices compared to NK. Can't blame that some Chinese citizens chose to migrate towards Hong Kong, Macau and to different country just to get away from CCP's cruelty.
1899  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 26, 2022, 03:05:48 PM
I'm just wondering what if Crawford got defeated do Spence will take the call challenging Avanesyan right away.

If the goal is to be unified all the Welterweight belts, then I think that would be the case if Crawford got defeated against Avanesyan on his title defense in December. There would even be no need for Spence to call out Avanesyan as I'm sure the latter will do it instead as that was a big break in his career.

Well then, since this fight now failed to materialize I think further discussion about this match is pointless for now.

Let's hope that next year, the much-awaited fight for long will now turn into reality.

I'm even surprised that this discussion is still open and isn't locked temporarily because it's already official that this undisputed fight won't happen this year, maybe soon, we don't really know. Also, if this David Avanesyan will win the fight, it will be a big break for him and he will be famous more than what Bivol experienced when he defeated Canelo.

He will be so proud to himself as being the first one to crack Terence Crawford and putting him as one of his trophies in his record. If that happens then I bet Spence will have a hard time too, right? There's no way Crawford will get defeated while Spence will have an easy journey, that is just totally impossible.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A disheartening true life winning story on: October 26, 2022, 02:25:26 PM
Last week, I read a painful story from a local newspaper where a huge amount was legally won but the lottery company is refusing to pay.

In USD conversion, the guy bet about $690 and won about $169,000, but the gambling company refused to pay him, claiming that his record of the winning has been wiped off from their database as a result of a technical error.

The first step he took was to report at a police station where he was offered about $23,000 by the company which he rejected. He later reported at the National Gambling Board where he was offered about $29,900 which he also rejected. It's at this time he charged them to court with three counts charges of Conspiracy, Obtaining money under false pretence and Stealing.

The case is on, and I hope he wins. The guy is lucky enough to have money to file charges and this is happening within his reach/jurisdiction.

I believe these things really happening in reality but just rarely or the lottery company were able to pay a much lower amount compared to what is won while threatening the man/woman to be silent as they won't even win the case even if they were to file a case. Anyway, reading the story made me furious and saddened on the man's behalf because he wasn't paid the right amount, the lottery company was already guilty when they tried to bribe him.

One thing is for sure, that man will win the case because I bet the court will make an example for these company. There's enough evidence to confirm that the man has won the lottery but the company chose to neglect him.
