921  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do not limits your investment... on: July 13, 2023, 08:57:12 PM
Limiting your investment will not maximize your profits, hence it will only make you susceptible to losses. That’s  why diversifying your investment is highly encouraged because aside that it will attract additional income, it will also help you not to suffer your losses just in a single time. However, if you decide to diversify your investment, see to it that you are also not risking your money into low potential investments, otherwise you will not make any profits at all.

923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Motivating gambling addicts to invest in bitcoins. on: July 12, 2023, 09:48:59 PM
For me, it’s actually a good move so they can easily divert their time from gambling into investing. That way, they will start minimizing their gambling losses while increasing their chance of making profits with bitcoin investment. However, we can’t just expect from them that they will never gamble again once they experience losses from their investment. Gambling addicts are even harder to motivate or even convince, and they will only divert their focus once they can prove to theirselves that investing is way more promising and is more profitable than gambling.
924  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Things that influence our trading decisions on: July 12, 2023, 09:26:12 PM
The biggest issues and why most traders never make it in this business is basically greed and fear.

You enter a good trade, you are in profit but you don’t get out due to greed. Then the trade goes against you and as soon as you are break even you close it and it eventually starts to go your way. But you already closed the trade due to fear.

This is why many blow up their accounts everyday. If it wasn’t for this emotion of extreme greed and fear then trading would be as difficult as it is.

we can't totally discard such emotions because we are only humans. and that is human nature. but a person of course can contain these emotions. but he should have good tactics on how to control such feelings so as not to drag himself on going down.
and for me, one of the major factors that can influence my trading decision is the availability of funds, and to what extent i can use such funds. trading knowledge can be learned and once you have enough money, you can actually start learning those tricks.
I would also agree to that as you can never start trading without sufficient amount of funds to use as your capital. In addition, experience also matters the most. You will often resort into wrong decision making if you keep on trading without some significant experiences that will guide you. Trading needs more knowledge and skills, that’s why it needs a long term preparation before you decide to engage in live trading.
925  Economy / Economics / Re: What will you do when you have Financial Freedom? on: July 12, 2023, 08:56:47 PM
I will continue to invest!!!

By "financial freedom," I believe that I can get what I want so long it's what money can buy. But this is limited if an investment is not persistent, so I will rather continue investing and get to find other means to invest more even if the ones I tried are successful.

Mind you, you don't have to do this yourself, that's what all these rich people do. They only communicate, meet, give instructions and make their employees accountable for what they are being paid for.

Furthermore, nothing should stop you from exploring further. What you need most are your resources (money and employees) and your brain (to locate ideas) and how to use them to continuously do the work for you through the right coordination.
Good mindset. If you have the financial freedom, then you have all the means to invest particularly in bitcoin where the potentials to gain profits is very high. And as much as possible, maximize the amount of bitcoin in your portfolio more than any crypto coin. However, investing is only one of those options, we can also learn to trade and make some significant experiences that will honed our knowledge and skills. That way, we will gain additional profits if we will trade successfully.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: July 10, 2023, 03:06:52 PM
And the thing about Qatar is they spend money but they didn't get good results because in the end there are many people they were unhappy there in Qatar because of their Alcohol rules or because workers were killed there.
Just the chart and compare the money they spent and you can see the difference.
However one reason for increasing the hosting cost can be the inflation rate but the difference is still much more than other hosts, I'm sure America will spend less than this.

Qatar was never interested in making money from the world cup. I'm fact, no country that have ever hosted the world cup gave every made more than they invested in it. Everything is not about Money. Qatar wanted exposure. They wanted tobopen their world to the rest of the world. They have eyes on much bigger price, like hosting the Olympics and other Asian games.
They also have other prizes in mind like, tourism and the rest.
It was a strategic thing they did and so far it has worked. They have opened their football league up and players are willing to go there. They spent money they had for a long term investment and maybe in the short term you might not see the dividend, but it will be visible in the long run.

Besides they should be appluded for hosting a world cup without alcohol.  Grin.
They gave everybody an experience with their clear eyes and not under the influence of alcohol.
Funny enough, it wasn't as if alcohol was not present in the country, just not in the stadiums and some other public places.

That's not just about alcohol or some other rules they make in Qatar but that's all about freedom they don't give their people, alcohol is just one example of it. When you visit a country they should respect you as someone who is visiting that country and taking freedom from people is disrespectful.
I think any country can make money from hosting the world from the visitors they come to that country and they will surely bring more demand into that country.

Qatar was only shown in the media as not allowing alcohol but the people who were there of course had access to it,not straight away just after they learned how it works, they also ban the women who show their boobs yet they did nothing to punish the most famous fan of Croatia which kept showing her boobs during all the Croatia games. This to say that in any country there are some rules who are not applied when you are a foreigner and also Qatar knew this despite them being a very restrictive country toward the freedom of their citizens.

I don't know what to say when it comes to that kind of stuff but I think that before the World Cup began, I already expected and assumed that Qatar will be friendly enough and will cut the foreigners some slack as it will be safe to say that not all of them are knowledgeable enough to know what is prohibited in Qatar or in other Islamic countries.

I've already read about this, there are some instances that the citizens were mad because of the unconscious act made by the tourists but they cannot do anything about it as their own country is even turning a blind eye about what happened. The only thing the Qatar strongly enforced was banning of any addictive substance including alcohol and smoking.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 10, 2023, 07:00:31 AM
However, if you are just looking for the underdog bet, regardless on who will it be or what fight it is then Santiago ML will be enough, just saying.
That's suicidal thinking. Knowing Donaire, I'm sure he still has a lot to offer and can dominate the division. Santiago may be younger, but he doesn't possess the skills and experience that Donaire has. If we're just after attractive odds, we should consider going for a KO per round range bet, as most of the time the odds are higher than +200.

I know, I'm just saying though, maybe there could be fans of Alejandro that is willing to take the rest and very happy to see that their boy is the underdog. So I don't think that they will think it as a suicide bet.

Of course, as fans of Donaire on the other hand, we will think that there is no value in betting with Alejandro as we think that Donaire can still pull the trigger and make this fight exciting or dominate it and not let the fight goes to the hands of the judges to score it. Already fight week so for sure majority of us will spare some of our BTC in this fight.

No doubt about that because if we are on their shoes and Nonito Donaire is on the underdog corner, I'd bet that many of us here who are supporting him will be glad that he is listed that way because that will mean that Donaire's odds are juicy and not the other way around. In this fight, it's the opposite though but that is fine by me as I'm not really inclined to bet on ML if my boxer is on the favorite side.

Correct. If we are in their shoes and we have seen that our favorite figure is listed as an underdog suredeal, we will quickly
We place our bet because we believe that it will bring us decent profits.

Same thing with how Santiago's fans will react, we can't remove the fact that there are people or fans out there who are believing that upset
can happen as it's boxing, and there's no guarantee.

Let's see what will happen, almost the fight schedule. it allows you to either advance your bet or wait for more available odds.

Yup, that gives us less than one week to place our bets towards this fight and for me, I'll be patiently waiting for the other options like the range of the fight and what would be the outcome as it will likely open in less than 48 hours. I'll try to remember the date because we never know, this might be the last fight of Nonito Donaire regardless of the result and for sure I cannot let that slide.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 10, 2023, 06:20:09 AM
If Wemby will have the same mentality as Timmy and David, he will be accompanied by natural talents,
imagine how Spurs build that winning team, right after the twin towers, together with all those role stars who bring them titles
and with Timmy and their own versions of big 3, Parker, Ginobli and Him.
Coach Pop is the right person for Wemby, I believe that the blueprint will continue as long as the players are willing to
bring all the best that they've got.

They already signed Pop Greg in a multi-year contract looks like they gonna work well to improve Wemby with him and get back those championships in the near future. It's alright when he didn't get big numbers in his first summer league game they are just protecting him to not get some creepy injury that will gonna cost them much if ever that happened. because skills in the NBA cannot be adopted fast by just putting the player on the court no matter how good he is and since he was the main topic of the Summer league I'm sure every player was expected to play hard against him to steal the spotlight.

I was pretty surprised to hear the news that coach Pop signed on for another four years. I had thought he already stated publicly that he was going to retire once his contract was up. I guess he changed his mind. I don’t think he’s going to be able to build Wemby into anything special. Wemby just needs to spend a few years in the weight room.

Slight correction, it was a 5-year contract worth $80 Million.

Anyway, that was the whole plan at first but when they had won the lottery pick, everything has changed and even coach Pop already knew that the front office will ask him to extend his contract as they badly need him to coach the new kid in town that is touted to be the next superstar among all players in his generation, and that indeed happened.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: July 09, 2023, 08:58:23 PM

Bob Arum doing that kind of thing when in-fact he already have the right to dictate and demand because they are on the A-side is quite unheard of. But I see your point, it will be pointless if he will argue and make the fight much longer if ever the sanctioning bodies will give the green light because instead of getting some profits out of it, he cannot generate something if a fight will not exist.

On that side, where Beterbiev is already close to retirement, maybe the chance of surrendering the right might take place, Bob Arum is a well-known money maker person he will do everything to suck all the money that he can deal with, as for the possibilities, he may rather give the right to Hearn and let them negotiate to make sure that there's still money that he can collect,

but then again it will be depends from how these two handlers will communicate and close the deal, updates will be provided for sure, once there's a negotiation that take place between Beterbiev and Bivol's camps.

To be fair, all these promoters are business minded and will squeeze as much money if a fighter is not managed well. But I do consider Eddie Hearn, the youngest of the Big 4 as the most open-minded and willing to work with anyone. Although it is weird why there are so many talks about the issue of making Beterbiev-Bivol when it is a fact that the former has 3 belts compared to 1. So if Bivol is that determined, he should tell his promoters and DAZN to let ESPN and Top Rank do the job. Bivol just needs to make sure the fight is not happening in Canada and Texas, and maybe he can also demand to have the approval of the ring officials. Maybe it is not Hearn unwilling here but DAZN itself.

The sanctioning bodies have zero to very little power since they are not supposed to issue mandatories to their champions against fighters that are already world champions. Unless the sanctioning bodies secretly talk to each other and agree unanimously to do something like when the WBC mandated its champion Canelo to face GGG who was at that time also the WBA and IBF champion. Still very unlikely, because even these 4 sanctioning bodies are very sensitive with each other and besides they also do not want to put pressure on these giant networks and promoters.

Having Eddie Hearn and Bob Arum on the same path is the least of their problems because that is not the only hurdle to make the undisputed fight in the light-heavyweight division into reality. Many have been speculating that it will happen this year, including me, because Bob Arum already gave his statement last year that he will be open to discussion about the undisputed fight if Beterbiev successfully defends his belt against Anthony Yarde.

But a few weeks after the fight, the sanctioning bodes also released their own statement mainly the WBC that they will not allow the undisputed fight to happen because Bivol is a Russian boxer and the sanctions right now against him are quite heavy because of the on-going tension between Russia and Ukraine.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: July 09, 2023, 08:33:31 PM
Of course the betting is agent is to be blamed for such thing. I mean, why would the "agent" let him bet 8,000 coins if he has only 1,000 coins with him? Casinos don't work like this. They would never allow you to wager more than you can afford to lose. If there is one such casino, that casino won't be lasting long. Imagine hundred of people wagering money they don't have and then not paying. And then there are people that might win a lot with those money, and yet the casino still won't make any money...
The agent is to be blamed here for making a "bad" business model.

Judging by the fact that that agent himself came to the debtor to work, this is not the policy of the casino, but his personal mistake. However, from the original message, you might think that this agent is the owner of the casino, so it's hard for me to judge. In any case, it appears that the player has legal grounds for not repaying this debt.

It seems that both of them have lost in this part and it didn't benefitted anybody because the agent already made a mistake by letting the man have 8,000 coins when in-fact he already have 1,000 at that moment but since the agent have known the man and the OP also stated that he's been a regular gambler to their shop, the agent allowed it because by then, they know where it work or what does it do. Furthermore, the debt will not last more than 1 week because it has been said that the man has a daily pay of 2,000.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: July 09, 2023, 06:36:19 PM
As I always do in sports betting with strict control or self-control when I bet with a capital of $ 50 and get a profit of $ 20 and then bet again using my profit of $ 20 without involving my initial capital.
So that when it's unlucky for the club I chose to lose I won't feel like I'm losing because I still have an initial capital of $50 and I will do that continuously with full control.[/left]

I understand where you're coming from and can relate to that, as I was using a similar tactic back in the day. But the truth is, this is a good example of how to NOT approach gambling. As you yourself said, this approach would not make you feel like losing - meaning it's based on emotions and feelings.
What you should be aiming at, is an emotionless, cold-calculated approach, i.e. it doesn't matter if that $20 was previously won, earned, or if your grandma gave it to you, that's completely irrelevant.

That is exactly the thing, even if we say that we only gamble our profits and didn't include our capital, we are not taking things seriously because we do know that we still have the capital left and thought that it's not really a big deal if we lose this next bet or not. But in reality, that was already a wrong mindset as we won't get to where we are planning if we are thinking about it, instead we should learn from it and be mindful that the approach wasn't successful, so it's time to change it as well as the mindset.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: July 09, 2023, 06:12:41 PM
But I'm sure they will lose interest, the rule is very simple. Imagine you see a tournament every two years and there is no need to wait for it for a longer time now compare it with another situation when you need to wait for more years to finally see the tournament, that's clear that you will have less interest on it and the world cup every two years will not be important like the world cup we see right now for people.

It will be safe to say that FIFA World Cup will not be the same anymore and people will not be that thirsty as well to see the games as the waiting time has been shortened plus, the national teams might no longer prioritizing this event anymore just like how they gave importance to it these days because an event that will just happen once every four years is really a tempting one but if it will be shortened, a lot will change and that is for sure.

Guys, no need to make a big deal out of this because the FIFA itself is not even thinking or considering about changing its format into two years. They are currently busy right now on how would the new format will go because this will the first time that they will expand the event since 1998 and 48 national teams will not take each other instead of 32 teams.
933  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: July 09, 2023, 05:24:29 PM
Thankfully, Threads is another exact microblogging alternative that is threatening Twitter, and if care is not taken and Musk doesn't apply wisdom, then the impact would be severe.
It's wrong to acknowledge thread as a treat to twitter because Elon limited daily views for Twitter users. That's the main reason Zuckerberg copied twitter and changed logo and name to thread. He didn't work for it, he stole another person's idea and intellectual property, it doesn't make sense. Most people will run back to twitter after a while of using thread. It'll just get the fame like truth social did when people started opting out of twitter because of the new update. It'll be hard for thread to beat twitter, not now.

Exactly! It doesn't even deserved to be called as the Twitter's competitor just because of it's similarities and that's just unrealistic to think, we all know that Twitter has been in the world for quite some time now and it will turn to its 20th year this 2026. This Thread will not even surpass half of the Twitter's achievements, not even a bit, it's just that people are dying to try what it can do but yes I agree, after a few months, they will all go back to Twitter.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: July 08, 2023, 08:21:03 PM
^^ We can't just compare era's though.

I was just looking at the betting line, and so far it hasn't move any, Nonito is still the favorite at 1.55. Unfortunately, there are no other options  for now, it seems that ML is the only one listed by sports bookies.

Nevertheless, as the fight gets closer, there could be a lot of listing. Gonna be interested what will be the odds for Donaire winning by knockout though. It might be higher that the ML I guess.

That's guaranteed. We have to wait a bit, as eventually more betting options will become available. If Donaire is lucky enough to win, I believe it will be by KO, so I'm going to bet on him to win by KO. Maybe 6 rounds is the maximum number of rounds for him to secure that KO victory.

However, if you guys want to play it safe, I think 1.55 odds are already decent.

Yes, @ 1.5x that's already decent if you wanted to play safe and you wanted to add some fun while watching for this fight.

Though if you are really aiming for a much bigger win, then it needed to wait till the actual schedule come up
and bookies provide additional odds. I go with a K.O under 6 rounds. I'm thinking that even Donaire was aging
if he will go for a KO, he will work his way in the early rounds.

We know Donaire's real chances against his foe and indeed that 1.5x is decent enough but considering the line, I can say that it is for high rollers but for bettors like me, it's not yet enough. That said, I'm still waiting for some movement even just for a bit like 1.70+ especially the new options that will be open in a matter of few days before the fight night.

I'm also looking forward to that KO option as that could be bigger than the moneyline and which round will the fight likely last as well.
935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 08, 2023, 07:58:35 PM
I grew up in California and always thought the gambling age was 18. I’m a bit surprised to learn that in most of the country it is 21. I guess that makes sense with all the drinks flowing in Vegas. Still, a bit surprising to think that you can go to war and die for this country to fight for freedom, but can’t put a penny in a slot machine.
Isn't there a specific age for the military recruitment process as well? I think there is, it might differ from the age limit when you are allowed to gamble in a certain jurisdiction, but they are two different things altogether. Even if you can go for the military a couple of years earlier than when you can gamble, those two years or so will go only into training and learning the ways of the military and for them to determine if you are really capable of what it takes.

In some countries, the age limit for all these things basically starts at the same age, if you can't gamble when you are 20, you also can't join the army at that age, so for you to be considered mature and a proper adult, you will have to be at least 21, which is 18 in most countries.

Most forces require an age of at least 17 years old before they can join any recruitment that involves wearing a force's uniform, it might differ in other countries but mostly, someone has to be 17 years. But since we are here in the gambling industry and talking about the minimum age to gamble, I don't think that military and casinos have something in common as the age requirement is also different as most platforms requires you to be at least 21 years old before you can start your activity and withdraw some funds if ever you're lucky.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 08, 2023, 06:15:23 PM
This poor kid doesn't even have a chance to breathe.  Look I'm never big on guys over 7 foot and the hype they get because with the way the NBA is its hard for most of those guys bodies to last.  But it's one game in the summer league and he is what all of 18 or 19 years old.  He isn't gonna dominate the NBA this year everyone knows that. Scoot was always a better talent for the NBA today.  In the next 5-10 who knows but his game translates today vs a 7 foor 4 young kid.

What he should do is to be in the safe side while he is still a rookie because his body is not yet qualified to go head-to-head with the other bigs in the league because that will just give him an injury or probably worse than that. I know he doesn't want that and the whole franchise doesn't want it either, and we can see how careful they are on Wemby because he wasn't playing that much to avoid unnecessary outcome especially after Kai Jones dunked on Wemby and that wasn't a good picture to see.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What attracted you to gambling?Share your experience whether good/bad. on: July 08, 2023, 05:53:09 PM

About yesterday I came across a friend looking so depressed and sad and tried to interrogate with him then he said he felt like giving up in life and i asked why, he said he used about 80% of his savings to stake on a particular football game and lost, I felt so pity for him and had to encourage him with some advices.
He broke the cardinal rule in gambling and which is only played with money that you can afford to lose and never involve your savings in gambling, even if you are 100% sure that you are going to win you never the know outcome until the results are final, in gambling there are unforeseeable events that can happen that you least expect it.

I was attracted to gambling specifically sports betting peer to peer especially if I am against a bettor who bets for the underdogs, there is something when you win in gambling its easy money but after a lot of disappointment and realizing that you cannot make a lot of money from gambling and you cannot make a living out of it, I have to give up hope that I can be good in gambling and accept is as entertainment and only bet with money that you can afford to lose.

I'm not surprised about the feeling of that specific friend because everybody in this world who will have the same experience will indeed feel worthless because 80% is already a huge amount but not every gambler has the confidence to do that in one go even if there's a good chance in winning that bet, you see, we tend to feel some doubts even though our chances are strong and that just mean that we know deep in ourselves that it is not that sure as long as the outcome will not say the same bet you're betting to.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: July 08, 2023, 02:51:56 PM
That would be a great record to have, but FIFA is so concentrated on making money and extracting as many resources from the world cup that it would not surprise me if at some point they had the fantastic idea, notice my sarcasm, to play the world cup every two years instead of doing so every four years, in which case the record of Ronaldo will be easily crushed, now this may seem unrealistic now but it would not surprise me if they actually tried to do this in a few decades.

World Cup every two years? Impossible!!!

As ambitious for money as FIFA is, this would be a totally inappropriate suggestion for a competition of the magnitude that the world cup has.

In order to hold this event, there must be large investments by the host countries, a lot of mobility and changes in the schedule, there is no way to do this every two years.

Fifa has already increased the number of teams in the competition and this is what they can do best.

Another solution would be to make the tournament a regular competition and more spread out between the years, but that would take the "brightness" out of the tournament and become a "normal" competition.

The less Fifa messes with the world cup, the better!

You didn't even notice his sarcasm Cheesy he just said it mate.

A World Cup in every two years really do sounds ambitious and I don't think that it will be granted if ever the FIFA council will try to make it. Countries around the world will lose their desires to host for this kind of event as it will be not rare anymore and people won't be that interested anymore as they know that they can always see the next World Cup in the next two years, instead of four years where they will indeed prepare for it and will not lose the chance to see the event.
939  Economy / Economics / Re: Getting an MBA before starting a company or directly starting a company? on: July 06, 2023, 09:49:30 PM
MBA's are losing value, among other college degrees, for the fact that educational institutions are becoming diploma mills and offering these degrees to anyone who wants to pay for it. The internet doesn't require you have a degree for anything, experience matters.

Save yourself the costs and political indoctrination most universities made you endure, skip the degree and enter the labor market.
It’s actually a real talk. Getting MBA is not just a degree to be taken but also it’s becoming a business for some universities. As long as there will be someone who’s willing to pay, then rest assured that you will have that diploma fast and clear. That’s why I don’t think having an MBA will greatly matter. If you know your own capabilities in that field, then you should take some due diligence to learn more and improve your knowledge and skills more. And with experience, that will pave way for a successful business in the future.

As a crypto investor that desire to make huge profit through Cryptocurrency, there is 100% need to know what exit plan is and how to effect it appropriately. I know most of us are not too experience in the Crypto line and it is best to learn from those with this experiencial knowledge.

To all experienced Bitcoin investors, kindly share your experience with us, let's learn and become expose to the reality and strategy before the next bull run. This is another means to help young investors like us.
What are your exit plan and what exit plan have you used that work well for you.
I usually stick to the basic of buying low and selling high. When I see opportunities to make profits, then I take part in selling some coins and just buy back again when prices have declined. That is not something new to discuss but it’s always the most effective strategy for me. No need to resort into other exit plans, as long as you are comfortable with it and it’s somehow reducing the risk of losing, then I’m settled with that.
