1881  Economy / Economics / Re: does bitcoin help in your economy? on: February 21, 2023, 08:28:18 AM
there are many people investing in bitcoin, some are profitable and some are losing. and I believe bitcoin has a big advantage. The question is whether when you benefit from bitcoin, you can help your economy and your family?
I can spend crypto through gift cards. This leads to less fiat use that I would originally use since earning crypto is possible through my signature campaign while fiat earning is through day job. Hence the two sources of income mean more total income.

This may not be possible in all scenarios. There are countries with difficult to pass legal barriers to the use of crypto and for them this might not be possible.

Holding bitcoin for a better uee in future is another thing to keep in mind.
1882  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 21, 2023, 08:13:26 AM
In my opinion someone who has zero experience of trading on any speculative market but claims to make money easily through trading is trying to fool the person in front. Those who have been trading for years know how the market works but not newbies.

You should not trust this person unless you verify yourself their claims. Chances are the person is a scammer attempting to fool you into giving your money.

If this is someone in real life, verify. If this is some internet username, then block them.
1883  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 20, 2023, 02:42:30 PM
Savings in the broad sense is for the emergencies. But there are a lot other reasons why saving is done like hoping to buy some expensive item that I need or planning to buy a property and so on.

Expenditure is the regular spending that you would incur over a month or so. This should be kept separate from savings. I dont think there is much ambiguity regarding these terms. How people might be spending or saving is after all their personal choice and there needs to be a limit between the two.

The real thing to keep in mind is that spending should not exceed savings unless in cases of emergency, which should be covered in the upcoming months.

1884  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Give it a break. on: February 20, 2023, 02:19:05 PM
Gamblers cant take breaks, that is why they are called gamblers. Roll Eyes

Addiction is such a thing where passion and obsession come into a dangerous combination and this leads to insomniac tendencies where a person continues to repeat the same mistake over and over hoping for a different outcome on the next attempt. This is the reason why gamblers get addicted over time and are spending way more than what they should have.

Giving a break and stopping gambling altogether is the real winning strategy against a casino but it seems like a surrender to many gamblers and hence their brain refuses to accept that. That is why this industry thrives.
1885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Doge really go to the moon? on: February 20, 2023, 02:12:48 PM
-snip-
The work a celeb is to promote a coin and reap the benefits from it and crypto being an unregulated sector becomes an easy target for such celebs. Today another celeb can come in and say that their product is going to involve DOGE and pump its price and then leave the stage while the moonbois are having an orgasm but they find out the market crashed while they were drooling. Grin

The truth is that no coin is ever going to be big as bitcoin has been, so if you have not sold when celebs were promoting it you have missed the last chance, now you can just hold and wait for some miracle to happen and bring it back up again.

Whether some product of that celeb is going to use DOGE, depends on their choice, but dont bank on that.
1886  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 20, 2023, 02:09:12 PM
I will trust the Old trader that passed through so many challenges in the market with many strategies to overcame such challenges in the community. He or she have a lot of experience concerning crypto trading and how to make a huge amount of income in both long term trading and short term trading which he or she is used to such strategies and he or she is fully ready to impact new traders in the community. I will not trust new trader because, he or she has not pass through many bearish season in the community which he or she don't have more potential experience like old trader that passed through so many bearish season to achieved a passive incomes at the end of the investment.
You can listen to their experiences but you cannot trust any "pick" that they might have to offer. Because in a speculative market, one person's loss is another person's gain and therefore you can only trust yourself when taking that decision, besides it is your own money that you are putting at stake.

Someone might be a new trader here but they may have experience in other markets which you might be unaware of so never underestimate any person.

While older traders mostly make money by promoting their own products and courses you will rarely see new traders doing this. Because they have understood that such methods of making money are less more consistent, obviously selling books is way safer than actually trading.
1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tip and Tricks about when to buy or when to sell? on: February 19, 2023, 12:06:09 PM
What tips and tricks can we talk about if trading is a pure attempt to try your luck, like in a lottery (sorry, traders, but this is how I see it). If you guess correctly, you will make a profit, if you don't guess, then you will not. What kind of knowledge can be here? For me, it's easier to guess on coffee grounds or believe in astrology than trading.
It is fairly easy does not need a coin toss or astrology. You buy when the price of an asset has hit low and you sell when the price hits a high. In between you have to patiently hold. Do these three things correctly and you will profit from the difference.

The problems that come in are
1. Lack of patience to hold. Sometimes this period may be years before you see the profit.
2. When the prices keep dropping or rising. In this case buy/sell at different levels as the price goes down/up.

It would be foolish to think of this as a coin flip, you would devastate your possible assets on hold if you trade based on 50-50 chances.
1888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: February 19, 2023, 11:48:44 AM
It used to pay well back in those days, I mean a good percentage of them. But nowadays its hard to get one that even pays more than a hundred dollars, maybe its because of current marker trends. I don't know
At one time they paid more than what a signature campaign paying bitcoin would but things have changed now. Because some exploitative users understood thing, they farmed multiple accounts and defrauded these campaigns which led to a lot of problems for the projects. Eventually the companies that continued doing bounties for promotions were the scum ones. Hence the bounties section is today filled with scum projects and their low quality user base.

I dont think the situation would improve in the next few years, it is better to keep yourself limited to bitcoin paying campaigns.

Some Bounties pay more than others. Also some bounty managers are more honest than others. So you have to choose which one to work on
Its more like 99.99% projects being scam. So go for the needle in the haystack or get yourself a job. Roll Eyes
1889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One reason why bitcoin is still the King on: February 17, 2023, 10:56:12 AM
The major source of buying an altcoin is bitcoin over fiat. That is why you keep seeing the altcoin<>btc exchange rates and only few fiat exchange rates. Therefore the price of Bitcoin influences the price of altcoins. Again a change is price of Bitcoin is often indicative of marker panic that seeps into altcoins because they are similar assets under the heading of crypto.

Because bitcoin has a huge userbase it's movements get nullified quickly because of the opposite side trade. Unlike altcoins which are full of distrust from its investors, situation becomes more volatile.

I think these are main reason why bitcoin is the king is it's userbase who trust the system.
1890  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: If it was you on: February 17, 2023, 08:49:01 AM
Futures is a gamble, anything other than spot is  gamble, so you can decide now which one is EV+ and which is one is not.

I would disagree that spot is for newbies. Nope, spot is the only trading where you don't actually lose money but only end up converting the crypto to another crypto which remains in your control. It is the only method for long term hold.

Those who want to gamble with their money, feel free to do so but that does not mean spot is in any way inferior to others.
1891  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a crypto project reliable and trustworthy ? on: February 17, 2023, 08:44:56 AM
In terms of projects, I don't think that luck should be associated with their success. That's what I think and believe that everything should be worked out and they have to do it based on what they're conducting by working on that project.
But we as individuals, I think we tend to believe with luck when we invest on a project that suddenly made us interested on buying it.
That would listening to our emotions and not going by the charts. There are coins worth putting money in like the top five but luck should never be brought into the question when buying crypto.

Projects and how they are developing is a good point. If you look closely you will find that it is more of smoke and mirrors here. Very few actually have been developing properly and they are going to go bankrupt in a few years.

It would be much better to avoid such coins and keep your hands on Bitcoin.
1892  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoin hold, sell or trade?? on: February 16, 2023, 08:00:25 AM
My opinion, Bitcoin all time saving mode is the best way. Some time when bitcoin price up then sell and when price down then buy is the best decision.  This method all time not working for trade. Many time i noticed when i sell bitcoin or altcoin sell since then price grow up and up. And when I buy bitcoin or altcoin then price low day by day. specialy, altcoin hold, sell and trade big loss.
This is a common "feature" of the market, dont think of it as a problem. Say you have a certain number of bitcoins to sell, when the price crosses your selling point, sell a fraction of that if you anticipate more highs. Then once it slows near another high, sell some more.

Similarly when the price is going down and you have fiat at hand, spend a fraction and wait for the next low. At point point you will run of fiat to spend when you need to stop and wait.

Quote
4 years ago few coins i hold for future. now this coin price few value or most of coin value is zero. Few coin trade, there too big loss. past year in the case of 1 coin invest $1000, this coin price today zero.
What you bought four years back must have been some altcoin, which I always tell newbies to avoid. Cant help it now, you have to either keep holding it in hopes that it might come back up or cough up more money to invest anew, and this time keep it limited to bitcoin.
1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any successful ICOs or NFTs lately that ran bounty marketing here? on: February 16, 2023, 07:46:38 AM
I am trying to determine if it still makes sense to use Bounty for promotion of crypto projects - has there been any successful projects that actually used Bounty and then awarded bounty participants? In any niche, DNFs , Gaming, ICOs any type of fundraising campaigns
This forum is the biggest place for the bitcoin/crypto users to gather than any other forum in the internet. Getting your project exposed to these people is the starting point before going to fintech expos and all that.

I think your post confuses between effectiveness of marketing via bounty and awarding participants. I am tell you that effectiveness of marketing is good but even better if you are going in through signature campaigns (bitcoin paying) because bounty campaigns (altcoin/token paying) generate a lot of noise and spam.

Obviously the past has been a record for successful campaigns and you can talk to the campaign managers who have been working here for years to get an idea about the same.
1894  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which company will be next to accept Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2023, 07:38:08 AM
If your country has legalised Bitcoins, then soon you may see this happening. But if your government is against the Bitcoins, then forget about this.
They have set up huge taxation on crypto exchanges happening in local currency, so they are trying to get people to avoid crypto but not ban it outright.

Quote
Everything depends on a country’s government first. Same thing also happening with this big companies, for here the car brands. The car brands can really start accepting Bitcoins, but they won’t enable this payment method in those countries where Bitcoins are illegal. Hope everyone understands this. SpaceX or Tesla should be the next to start accepting the Bitcoins.
I have observed that governments dont bring these changes but big companies do first, then the government gets pressurized to change its own policies and gradually the change sets in. Hence it will start from big companies though I dont have much use of racing cars and space rockets, like I said, I am more down to earth and prefer buying my groceries with bitcoin if that becomes easier than using giftcards in near future.
1895  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin (food for table) on: February 15, 2023, 06:12:22 AM
Bitcoin has feed many people dead or alive, I discovered that many people source of surviving is through Bitcoin. Families that have nothing to offer has survived probably because their children are involved in trading bitcoin but now that the price is down I know most of us that this has being the only means of livelihood, is being tough to meet up the current hardship in the land.
Hardship is everywhere but bitcoin is not the solution to hardships. Bitcoin is a currency and can be used to spend for food if needed and if there are avenues of spending in your country. Your poverty of quality of life will not improve with the use of bitcoin. Because earning bitcoin is the same as earning fiat money - you need to have skills and put those to work and earn your bread.

Trading can only be a side hustle, I dont expect a forum member here to become a professional trader. Hence attempting to make money enough to feed yourself for months through trading is a wrong goal to set.

Rather get a proper education and go for the things you have a passion for. Then you can earn and have a decent quality of life.
1896  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin trading or Investing in the stock market on: February 15, 2023, 06:06:56 AM
In My Opinion holding Bitcoin have much high potential then every stack or investment ,because bitcoin have a clear future and at the price which its sitting is very good because it highly retraced and fighting to reach higher and higher ,
Same can be said about any stock too. Additionally the stock is regulated meaning low chances of pump and dump all of a sudden and the company is giving you reports every quater which may have a lot of fabricated stuff in it but still you are kept uptodate with their stats.

In other words, every asset has its pros and cons. It is wrong to compare apples with oranges - you can only compare different apples between themselves.

I says you have one year to invest in BTC before bullrun starts , So invest in bitcoin in parts and hold like diamond hands .
There is no guarantee that in one year the bullrun will be maximum. So this is an absurd assumption to make. Buy bitcoin when it is priced low not because it is going to do up in one year, it may go up in one, two or three years but you keep increasing your stash of bitcoin.
1897  Economy / Economics / Re: To cut financial ties with original family benefits you in the long run on: February 15, 2023, 05:53:21 AM
From children's perspective, I think this may solve some realistic problems in the short term, but in the long run, this will damage the creativity and motivation to face life challenges and harm the ability to manage finances, especially if you are a man.
Very tunnel vision sort of thinking there. Parents often teach their children on how to face problems and challenges. It is incorrect and biased to assume to that home grown children are in any way inferior to the ones living on their own or in a boarding.

Quote
I say this because a lot of the friends from my generation are struggling financially now because they have been dependent on their parents and even after getting married and establishing a new family, they took a regular amount of money from their parents to pay off mortgages or cover other expenses.
Taking mortgages in such young age would mean that there were financial problems in the family and they have had to take the money in dire situations. If a child does not know to manage the finance then they have not be taught properly. Also setting up a family is a new thing for every person, it will differ how they face it individually.

Quote
They've never thought about having another stream of income or one day their parents may not be making money and instead need money and care from them. A lof of hidden problems are there but just ignored. In my opinion, the earlier you become independent financially, the more likely you will be living a comfortable life with your finances. Better to know this and be prepared, if you are young.
Truly financial independence is a myth though and even if bitcoin brings us close to it, most countries in this world does not have the technical infrastructure to allow quick and easy bitcoin use. They are all stuck with fiat and hence the point does out of question.
1898  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a crypto project reliable and trustworthy ? on: February 14, 2023, 03:47:48 PM
I am not sure...your point really makes sense but there might be some possibilities that some dev teams hide their identify for appropriate reasons. In general, those who are aggressive in marketing but fail in delivery are extremely suspicous. I would just wait and observe their roadmap and relevant outcome before I give my trust. It's never wrong to be too careful.
Aggressive marketing via bot like accounts on social media is another red flag. Failing to deliver is one thing and failing to develop anything is another. You must try to verify the team's identity on linkedin and social media. Text the advisors as listed and try to engage them into what they feel about the project, you might get a better idea but in many cases they will not respond, in which case you have to assume the worst.

Often advisors have a lock in period after which they will suddenly dump on the open market driving the price to such lows that it cannot recover back - this has often happened with many projects and the sad part is that we honest investors are the ones who must suffer this.

Going through all these points, I am sure most old times will accept that buying bitcoin is way less anxiety inducing and profitable than newly launched altcoin projects.
1899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to profit from altcoins collapses? on: February 14, 2023, 03:40:22 PM
do you think only Bnb, and ethereum altcoin have potential? I don't think so, friends, of course there are lots of altcoins that have potential right now. and even some time ago there was a collapse like Matic and cardano, and that in my opinion is an altcoin that also has potential.
You might have a different opinion but the top ten or the top five have always been the closest to being safe assets as to bitcoin. Going by that ETH and BNB can be given a try if you are having funds to invest in. A load of altcoins are available on the market and you are free to choose from them but since the ETH project has been here for sometime and BNB has been a successful exchange their tokens are in the top, I would add LTC to the list if I could too, because that has also been a resilient project.

Every month does not specifically mean the month of a new altcoin, the same old ones will profit like they did, you have to get into them.
1900  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers theory on BEGINNERS LUCK. on: February 14, 2023, 03:35:04 PM
In a game that is based on luck there should be no such thing as beginner's luck because luck is something you cannot quantify or qualify. The term is used loosely to denote a new player winning big but they essentially got lucky there which might not repeat in the next game. Hence to assume that having that "beginner's luck" might allow you to win the jackpot, you would be wrong in majority of cases. The odds of winning would be the same as any other gambler in the den.

It would be rather wish to just gamble for fun and stop when losing too much.
