i started when it was $6, sold it at $20 and made $45K.
so i leveraged 60 to 1 and piled in when it hit $30.1, but today when it dropped over 20% i was forced to cut all my positions, and lost 110K in the process!
how could this happen? there should be a central authority to bitcoins regulating daily loss of maximum 5% per day!
you're a troll. first of all a 15 yo can't get a hold of leverage, let alone 60-1. this kinda sophisticated talk makes me think you're a f*cking Wall Street punk who wants to scare everyone here into to selling to you. don't sell to this weenie.

"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it" Looks like mtgox side is down... Update: In the meantime, you can use "hidden" feature of bridge: switch "-w", which disable websocket and start polling of bitcoincharts. Designed for situations like this ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) . slush: can u spell that out for us non tech types?

I installed clients on a few different machines this week (Mac OS 10.6.7 and client 0.3.21).
I'd like to consolidate them all to one. Can I just copy wallet files all onto one machine?
Or do I need to:
1. Start the client on each machine 2. Wait for it to get up to speed block-count wise 3. Send the BTC's to my "main wallet" so to speak on my "main computer"
I hope it's the former. I like the idea of a bunch of wallets I can keep on an encrypted USB drive.
D
you can keep them separate in different folders on same computer if you want to keep the name "wallet.dat". if u put them in same folder you'll have to change the name. when u want to then open one or another wallet from the client on this computer, you'll have to move the wallet into the Bitcoin data directory and the name has to be "wallet.dat". another way to do it is to create several Bitcoin directories and then pt the client to which ever you want to open using: "C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin.exe" -datadir=F:\newDataDir

Now I have a wallet first created on computer A and it has some BTC in it. Then I installed another copy of bitcoin on computer B(both are Windows). I want two of my computers share one wallet, then I don't need to check both computers to get my overall balance.
The problem is when I copied my wallet from computer A to computer B, the client on computer B won't open. It shows the interface then some errors which says "alloc" or something(forget it, can't access computer B now), and then the client exits.
I've tried to copy all files under %appdata%/Bitcoin on computer A to computer B, and the client could start, but after receiving a payment it crashed again with same error.
Are wallets designed to be used on only 1 computer or there is sth wrong with my computers?
my 1st post and I'm not good at English...
you won't be able to "share" the same wallet.dat btwn 2 computers. unfortunately ur gonna have to move wallet.dat back and forth btwn them.

wallet.dat is interchangeable btwn diff computers, even different OS's. try deleting all files except wallet.dat in Bitcoin folder and restarting client.

If people just google satoshi, they won't find out about Bitcoin.
yeah, it depends on if u have a purpose for the shirt. if u want general public to become curious they might recognize the Bitcoin if u made it large in "Satoshi" next to their google search of Satoshi. if u really want this to be an awareness generator i can understand adding Nakamoto. i just like it for fun and as an insider joke as well as for optimal design. its too cluttered with Nakamoto as far as i'm concerned.
|
|
|
yeah, the more i look at it, get rid of "Nakamoto". if u replace "o" in Satoshi, the Bitcoin will be centered in the shirt and by getting rid of Nakamoto, its less cluttered.

All it needs is a dedicated website "Block Watch" and a alert level associated with it ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Now THAT is a good idea. Even clever name.

That's the problem with Bitcoin. Gold is SIMPLE, any idiot can understand how it works. Gold is a rare and pretty metal, people want gold - that's all. The way Bitcoin works, well it's pretty advanced concept. To fully understand it you must be a sort of a hacker/geek person. Peter Schiff is not an idiot, but he ain't a hacker.
+1
