Did you know? On 22 December 2013 were created 12 aliases with a word "f*ck" in it, but word "f*ck" was registered next day? ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif)

You can give me some NXT for another NXT press release if you like ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Last one was on Yahoo Finance and over 300 other news outlets. EDIT: bybitcoin and I had a series of misunderstandings, but I have decided I would still like to promote NXT if possible. too late, after you wrote: So at this stage I am not doing any further promotion for NXT.
If anyone wishes to co-ordinate another PR campaign for NXT and has the maturity to come to an actual agreement regarding this, please just let me know. After I read that, I took the PR campaign and now it is lead in a separate thread. We need only loyal people for this

And still I am hoping that the text version will have at most 10 pages ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I think the public perception of the ***coin brand has both grown and changed recently, with things like Doge ( ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ) and Coinye West ( ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) ) in addition to established cryptos like Bitcoin. I'd like folks to understand that we're something very different, unlike anything that's come before. So to me, Nxtcoin is bad, Nxt is good. And Nxt, not Next, confusion isn't a problem for Doge (no one's talking about Dogcoin), I don't see why it will be for Nxt. response: Nxt has such features as # Name doesn't contain "coin", "cash", "kash", "money", "dollar", nor "bit" (at least now, Nxt is a codename)
We need to better organize our discussions. Instead of continuing side conversations in this megathread, a good way is to start threads in the other forums like forum.nxtcrypto.org, then link to them here. Hopefully we can eventually develop better communication tools than traditional linear forum threads. The nxtcrypto guys have been doing nice things with their forum interface, kudos to them. (Not saying they are the official place to talk about Nxt, just saying I like their forum best.) Nxt marketing & promotion - progress tracking thread, Nxt full feature clients, Nxt web service providers, Nxt security and user interface, Nxt open source code flaw reportWe need more ladies interested in Nxt! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) - our homepage, facebook and twitter is lead by a lady ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) + do you like our first girly site? : www.nxtgirl.ru![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

We'll see a fork soon, some nodes run old NRS without AM support...
I suggest have the feature ready two or more versions before the upgrade announcement in the future. That's, we can enable AM in version 0.5.3, 0.5.4 and we announce it in 0.5.5. So I think most people have already updated to 0.5.3, so the fork probability will decrease a lot. potentially we could write in a feature for the client to periodically check an alias directed to a webpage. This would enable a method to broadcast messages to people to move off the old client or they will go off on a fork. Heh. It could even write some data that causes to crash the client at block 44000/whatever. Wuoldn't Google Cloud version of the client solve this?

There are 2 main ways to use Nxt DNS without third-party plugins.
1] Server-side. A web server analyses Nxt blockchain and replaces nxt-links with corresponding addresses before sending HTML documents to users. 2] Client-side. A web browser runs a JS script that connects to Nxt bootstrapping nodes and replaces nxt-links. This way requires to embed a small script and run it on "onload" event. The script will do all the work via CORS, JSONP or other techniques.
As a side effect Nxt does not allow to transfer ownership of a domain to other accounts, so cybersquatting is not a problem.
I think after the launch I will create a Google Cloud version of the client to remove such obstacle as necessity to run software locally or care about hosting.

I wonder how many NXT oriented websites there are? Due to decentralization, impossible to know for sure, but I think it would be an impressive list if we can somehow compile it.
James
I am building a list of Nxt sites in the googledoc, there are also social media sites or parking domains with contacts, I was contacting the owners when we changed the homepage: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AgAGADgnQcrtdHRrV3V3Z1lzOXVEMWtqdElUaEtqV1E#gid=3(in other sheets are developers, marketing people, all translators, bounties...)

People controlling Nxt are very smart or very rich and smart ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) - original stakeholders who didn't sell - developers who didn't sell - early buyers - rich newcomers

we will get so much media attention and mass adoption after we publish these texts about Nxt: Bitcoin's carbon footprint is out of control. http://www.bitcarbon.org/introduction.html"Nxt's carbon footprint will never be bigger than one village"
