1921  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Banking is more reliable and faster on: January 10, 2023, 06:44:57 PM
I don't seem to comprehend with most of what you wrote above, is it that I am a bad reader or what?

But banks are not to be compared with bitcoin, and the liberty and freedom bitcoin gives anyone using it shouldn't and won't be that of banks. With Bitcoin, you can be your own bank and be in charge of your coins in full custody.

That said I think the good of Bitcoin already overshadows the bad aspects of it which has to do with scammers and carelessly lossing your seed codes to a random person
1922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: January 10, 2023, 06:16:08 PM
But why would a recognized criminal stay this long without being sentenced already, this is pure wickedness.

The rich are simply backed even when they are obviously wrong.
My wishes are not harsh but for him to serve as a scapegoat to others who thinks money laundering and internet fraud shouldn't be tackled roughly.
1923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you have 1 bitcoin? on: January 10, 2023, 04:08:00 PM
Having one Bitcoin now, i think that is not easy because of how Bitcoin falls this time around, i believe that why bitcoin price is falling is same as the Bitcoin stored is depreciating in the value but people don't know exactly, i believe that Bitcoin price affect the price of it, so let us that the people who can have 1bitcoin is those people who buy Bitcoin surplus and stored when the price was lower than the current price and kept it for the long time

This a wrong thing for one to comment on really, how can the price of Bitcoin affect the price, I will like a bit of breakdown.

The price is a problem for those who sees it as a problem and opportunity for those who sees it as opportunity, but I believe more opportunities if you are filled with fiat, so the accumulation of Bitcoin continues. Having more than 1btc and the depreciation of the value which is price should not get you panic selling.

Having 1Btc or not OP whatever your holdings should be kept a secret.

Re: The Failure of Exchanges can never be that of Bitcoin.

This statement is valid and has been repeated multiple times on the forum. Repeating it one more time doesn't make it more valid. Grin
It's true that the crypto exchanges exist mostly because of the altcoins, not because of Bitcoin. The original purpose of the crypto exchanges was to be some sort of "financial casinos", where the traders by and sell various "shiny objects", like altcoins, shitcoins, tokens, etc.
The crypto market was crazy speculative and the traders were expecting insane profits out of pump&dump schemes or they were waiting for some altcoin to become "the new Bitcoin".
I'm still a Bitcoin maximalist and I still think that the crypto world doesn't need altcoins and crypto exchanges.

It's good to get you all corrections, the learning continues it's just that people are a bit stubborn and most of this needs to be raised once in a while. For longer visions and for long term holding of Bitcoin, using exchanges will be the biggest mistake one should take.

Your correct, bitcoin main aim is all for self custody and not to be runned by exchanges especially when they are big amount of bitcoins.

Wonderful to see that your bullish on bitcoin, it's all little while we stay discipline and expect the next bull

I don't know where you read that news, but I've never heard of it, bitcoin and exchanges like currencies and banks. A failed bank doesn't mean the currency collapses and neither does bitcoin. I remember we also had a topic about the correlation between bitcoin and exchanges and honestly, bitcoin can work fine even without an exchange, so saying that the collapse of exchanges will drag bitcoin to collapse is the dumbest statement I've ever heard.

I see you didn't take your time reading throughout the whole text there, I'll advice you take your time already to read it.

The faluire of centralized exchange has never been and will never be the downfall of Bitcoin.
It was good to hear and read from users during the FTX collapse saying they handled the entire situations gently despite majority of them  getting bankrupt by Fxt. I would be so disrespectful of me to call you a poor reader so I won't do that.

Have you watched him play? If you haven't then go watch some highlights before you come here criticizing Chelsea move to aquire him.

Highlight can be misleading. Stats too can be misleading. You have to watch a player to know if he is good or not. Even me can have a very good highlight because those are my best moments on the pitch. Because a midfielder scores 10 goals doesn't also make him a good player. Don't ever judge a player by his highlight and stats unless you've watched him consistently. Watching a player ones or twice too does not qualify too. The two days you watched him might be his bad day or good day. So before you judge a player try to watch him consistently.

I have seen him play. I absolutely do not think that he is some wonder kid who is going to do something impossible for Chelsea. Some people just see a kid play well these days and start throwing money to get him in the team. I do not believe that he is worth the money that Chelsea gave for him. If this was around 8-10 million, I think even that would have made sense. But 13 million is too much.

In todays market 13 million for a kid is not much. I have not watched him but since you said he's not a wonderkid then the price is fair. If he was a wonderkid his price would be around 30-50 million in todays market.
1928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany ⚽ - Qualifiers on: January 08, 2023, 01:11:37 PM
What happened in Almenaia was something very resounding, the fact that Toni Kross took a step back to give a younger player a new opportunity was not something very intelligent, because the German team lacked a good midfielder who played to Muller, the fact of calling veteran players was a good idea because they have experience, as in the case of Gotze, the new players are good, but they do not have experience, it was not only a mistake by Germany, it was also a mistake by Portugal, they left their best star sitting on the bench, that is something that should not be allowed for anything in the world, things should be seen that way.

I don't think that contributed to Germanys problem. Kross was in the 2018 world cup and they were eliminated in the group stages too. Germany played really well in their 3 games. I'd say they were just unlucky. They only messed up and didn't win Japan. They played well against Spain but only got a draw. They also played well against Costa Rica and won.
In fact, the Germany of the 2022 world cup without Toni Kross was better than the Germany of the 2018 world cup with Toni Kross. MUsiala was outstanding. Not having a natural world class top striker was also a problem for Germany.

I'm even tempted to say they would have been a problem for every other team if they made it out of the group stages. The world cup is a tournament that any single mistake can knock you out of the tournament. Germany, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Brazil all learnt that the hard way
1929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / The Failure of Exchnages can never be that of Bitcoin. on: January 08, 2023, 01:07:04 PM
I have read, heard close discussions, rumours and rumoured misconceptions and misunderstanding about Bitcoin as it relates with Exchanges.

As we all are aware, the ussge if centralized exchange defeats the whole idea of Bitcoin and perhaps the reason why it was created by Satoshi Nakamoto which is decentralization and self custody. Regardless of how people speak condescendingly to friends and families about backing off from investing in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies during the recent FTX collapse.

A bit furious about it summon myself to make this up, that the failure of an exchange can and will never be the failure of Bitcoin.
Satoshi Nakamoto who I believed mined the highest number of Bitcoin has not 1% of those Bitcoin holding's on any of those popular exchanges. That should be enough for every or any sensible human out there to mimick and imitate. I consider it pure cowardice to think that if an exchange fails that Bitcoin will fail, not even the level of crypto scams will crash it nor lead it to stunt growth and adoption. Jim Cramer has been such a stupid influencer pushing people to exit investment in crypto and also to panic sell which is wrong as he said that months behind. A dialogue with people who have seen worst in the bear market and exchange collapse will have you disciplined and leaving exchanges for good, buying the dip in the process as it also an opportunity to accumulate more satoshis.
Below are something's exchange do;

In Reality, Bitcoin is a digital gold and can actually do without exchnages.. they haven't represented Bitcoin from the very beginning, an example is that the first pizza bought with Bitcoin, had no exchange playing any role in that process.

If there were no cryptocurrencies especially Bitcoin, there wouldn't have been an exchange... Centralized Exchnages rose up after the creation of Bitcoin , are they any different from local banks? Making profits is the sole aim.

Since the rise of Centralized Exchnages they have more harm and ruins... From MT. GOX, Quadriss and to thr latest FTX collapse, all they do is put investors in doubt about the continuation of investments in crypto projects, both life savings and retirement plans have been shattered.

The bottom line of this all is that the failure of Centralized Exchnages can never be that of Bitcoin which after every bear market has been tested, the cycle continues, gather sats around and be patient for the bull.
1930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: January 08, 2023, 12:07:06 PM
A slight overhaul of Lionel Messi's position will make PSG sharper in building attacks, in my opinion placing Lionel Messi slightly below Neymar and Kylian Mbappe will be more optimal in attacking and controlling the game, because Lionel Messi has an advantage in dribbling before giving measurable passes or before scoring

I get where you're coming from but you are wrong. Messi plays his best football from the right wing. He cuts in from the right wing, dribbles and gives a sublime pass or shoots. If they play with that formation you're suggesting against Bayern they'll lose. They need their wings against Bayern. Neymar running at them from the left ad Messi running at them from the right while Mbappe is doing that up front. Besides PSG have a very good midfield now with the inclusion of Fabian Ruiz. He's very technical just like Verratti.

In a team like PSG, Messi should have no business playing as a supporting striker for two reasons, and this is aside the fact that Messi is at his best in the right wing.
1. If you take Messi behind Neymer and Mbappe that means you're playing with two attackers which will make the wing not as effective as it should. This would give the Full backs of the opposing team more freedom to attack
2. If you still want to play with 3 attackers while Messi plays behind them then your midfielders will be down to 2 which is a disadvantage.

Nonetheless, Inter are still safely in the top 4 because even if Lazio win against Empoli then 1 point will be the difference between them. But of course, Inter cannot afford to drop points in their next match against Verona. Now Juventus has shifted Milan's position, and maybe it will make Milan have to stay in position 3 if they lose to Roma.

I don't have any hopes of Roma winning Milan. Yes, its going to be a difficult match for both side but Milan would eventually come out on top. I'm not going to bet on the game but if I'm to bet I'll go with Milan. There might be 3 or more goals in the match too because I've noticed that whenever big teams in Italy, they always score a lot of goals.

Roma play their football a little too careful. They don't use the full potential of their attack in other not to be exploited at the back by the opponent's attack. While this can be frustrating for opponents, it also has its disadvantages. If Milan's attack is very solid today then Roma would find it very difficult to score because they don't create enough scoring chances.
1933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 08, 2023, 06:47:32 AM
I didn't see the Madrid loss yesterday coming. I was certain they would win not because Villareal is a bad team nor because Madrid in good form but because Madrid know how to flourish in games like this. I should have know better when Madid was given 2.12 odds to win.

Since Madrid have lost lets see if Barcelona can win Atletico Madrid today and top the league with 3 point. Its going to be real difficult for them since Lewandoski is not playing but lets see how it goes. Atletico can be an inconsistent team but when it face Barcelona they always put up a good fight.
1934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2022/2023 on: January 07, 2023, 02:47:50 PM
Arsenal has a great tradition in FA Cup and they won 14 times, two times more than Manchester United, and they appeared most times in finals.
I think they have biggest chance of winning trophy this year, but it all depends how far they go in Europe and how they handle player injuries.
Clubs that play longer in Champions League could have a problem to fit everything in their busy schedule.

In as much as Arsenal are the kings of the FA cup, they've got a lot on their plates this season with the league, Europa, and FA cup. They do not have the squad depth to manage all these competitions to the end. They need to be careful or players can get injured or fatigued or worst, they can lose all trophies and go trophy less this season. I really do not want that to happen to them because they have been pretty impressive this season. It's a good thing they are no more in the Carabao cup. I think they shouldn't pay much attention to the FA cup since they've won it multiple times and focus on the EPL which they haven't won in about 20 years and the Europa which they've never won before.
1935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Portuguese League - Liga Portugal 2022/23 on: January 07, 2023, 02:32:48 PM
1 - Benfica bought Darwin Nuñez for 24 million euros, they already had in mind that they were buying a rough diamond that they just needed to polish well and then sell and make a good profit, they weren't worried about buying a player to win the league and then they sold Darwin Nuñez to liverpool for 75 million euros, that is, they sold it for 3X the price they bought

2 - Benfica bought Enzo Fernández for 12 million euros and will sell him for 120 million euros, that is 10x the amount they bought, Benfica and the Bundesliga teams already have a millionaire business and they no longer need to worry in winning the leagues but for them to continue to expose their diamonds in the rough they need to be at the top of the league and be playing in the champions league even if it's just the group stage it's enough to gain exposure

To be honest, I can't fault them for selling those players. Only the top clubs in Europe will pass on an opportunity like that. These clubs don't make as much money as the big guns in Europe so player sales is a part of generating income. They would be making a mistake if they don't sell a player they got for 24 million euros for 75 million euros, especially considering the fact that the player is not all that. And even if he is all that, these players want to go o the best teams in Europe and no disrespect to the Portuguese teams, but they're not the best teams in Europe.
Now they have an opportunity to cash in on 10x the price they spent on Enzo, c'mon, lets be realistic, which club in their position wouldn't. Ajax bought Antony for 21 million euros and sold him for a hundred million.

1936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2022/23 Season on: January 07, 2023, 02:07:52 PM
By the way, the play off round will be 2 legs, at Juventus base and Nantes base.
The advantage is not only present when Juventus play their home matches, but even in away matches they are a club that greatly benefits from the status of hosts Nantes which cannot be said to be a club that is in good condition at all.
The meeting between Juventus vs Nantes will be their first meeting, I don't remember whether they have met in a match or not. On paper, who wouldn't make Juventus a clear favorite who clearly has very good strength compared to their current opponents.

Aside the advantages of playing on home turf and all, Nantes have been awful recently while Juventus seem to have gotten their form back and even have a shot at the league. To me, Juventus would win easily. In fact they'll win both legs of that tie. Nantes is no where near where Juventus is right now. If the match took place when Juventus where in a poor form then Nantes would have stood a chance but right now they're currently 15th on the league table. Their last win against Auxerre was their first win in 6 matches.  I really don't see how their going to qualify ahead of Juventus in the Europa league.
1937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: January 07, 2023, 11:13:58 AM
The match between Villareal and Madrid later today looks like a tricky one but I think Madrid will come out on top. Like i always, Madrid knows how to win games and they'll know how to win today's game. I don't see it as a free scoring game because both teams would be cautious of leaving spaces behind that the opposition can exploits. Madrid have not really been convincing since the return of club football but that does not surprise me. Even the UCL they won last year they were not convincing. Its going to be the same today. They need to put the pressure on Barcelona and they will do just that by winning today.
1938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 07, 2023, 11:06:12 AM
Newcastle have draw their last 2 matches. While they did a good job to draw with Arsenal but they should have won Leeds. They are on the same point with Manchester United and they have played a game more. They really need to start winning games again if they want to retain their UCL spot. Man United are in a very good form now so if Newcastle don't wake they would be overtaken. If they go down to fourth, the chances of them going further down is very big because they top Tottenham with just 2 points.

Newcastle play Sheffield Wednesday today in the FA cup and I expect them to win. They play Leicester City after that in the premier league and I also expect them to win because Leicester is not in a very good form at the moment.
Making it to the Champions league makes it easier for them to sign top players since they're now a rich club that has money to spend.
1939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: January 06, 2023, 09:52:43 PM
It is very clear that Strasbourg's condition has not improved this season so that Strasbourg is still in the relegation zone in 19th place with only 11 points collected. But PSG will not be daunted by that because in the next match PSG will also face a team that is worse than Strasbourg, namely Angers, who are currently in the lowest position on the bottom of the standings. And that clearly benefits both (Lens and PSG) in the next match in Ligue1

Since August last year Lens have won only one match. They've played 15 matches in that time period and they managed only one win. Angers have managed 3 wins during the same time period. Both teams are in the worst possible forms right now and I don't see them been a threat to any team, let a lone the top two teams in the league.
Its going to be an easy win for both PSG and Lens. we know shockers happen but I doubt we will see any from these two teams.  PSG's performance against Strasburg was just poor, still they couldn't at least get a point from a draw.
1940  Other / Off-topic / Re: ⚽ Football Injuries and Injury Updates! on: January 06, 2023, 09:28:02 PM
Yes, I am excited for Arsenal fans regarding this update. Soon enough they will get to see one of their favourite players back in action.
This soon enough is me thinking sometime in March. Despite this news, Gabriel Jesus rushed back into the field of play until he is fit.
He is going to be back stronger and dangerous.

I believe he will be back sometime in March or February. He shouldn't be rushed back though, it will only do more harm to him and his team. What scares me is that he might not be at his best after the injury. I really hope his performance wont be affected by the injury because he is really important for Arsenal especially at that stage of the competition. He will return at a stage in the competition where a single point can changed the position a team is on the table and it will be very hard to recover at that point. Arsenal need the squad depth if they are going to fight for this league because with the different competitions they're in, they will need a lot of rotations and resting of players to prevent fatigue and injuries.
