Now people can get off your nuts! Sheesh.. this coupon shit has been a disaster from the beginning

Disaster or not, I'm glad they're doing it.

Waiting patiently Smiley

Stuck it in the fridge for about 30 minutes and it doesn't seem to have helped. If anything, it looks like it's gotten worse; down to ~5.4 GH/s now. Sad

That doesnt sound like a particularly good idea.  Have you tried removing the casing and inverting the fan so its blowing down?

I did that a couple days ago and my temp went from 45C to 35C.
1923  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: CGMiner 3.3.4 crash on: August 23, 2013, 01:46:00 PM
I have seen that on my system with CGMiner 3.3.3.

I chalked it up to instability caused by unplugging 15 Block Erupters, a few at a time, to attach heat sinks and then plugging them back in while 4 instances of CGMiner were running.  Also did the same thing with my Jalapeno to remove the case and flip the fan.

I haven't seen this while not messing around like that though, yet.
Sam

P.S. post in the CGMiner thread.
1924  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [130'000 GH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees, Stratum, MergedMining, Private Servers on: August 23, 2013, 01:33:19 PM
but I also didn't factor in that I gave out over 8,000 coupons.

This just hit me.  You mean to say you have sold over 8,000 Block Erupters?!?
1925  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: I'M INTERESTED IN BUTTERFLY MINERS, ANYONE RECIVED IT YET? on: August 22, 2013, 12:08:41 AM
Yes, there are many THs of BFL ASIC's out there.  I have my Jalapeno and am mining with it.

I think they plan on being caught up with the initial preorders around September.
1926  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [130'000 GH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees, Stratum, MergedMining, Private Servers on: August 21, 2013, 11:45:26 PM
I could ask you the same thing... WHY DO YOU CARE WHAT I DO WITH MY TIME?

Your littering our pool support thread with "your time".

You made your point with one or two posts, which could have been shorter, and that should have sufficed to express your opinion.

That's why we care.

Anybody else want to have a reasonable debate on WHY you would pay more for something that can be had for much less?

Take it somewhere else please.
1927  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Thought on the future of mining? on: August 20, 2013, 03:29:09 PM
Isn't that the whole point of mining coins?  To make a personal profit?  I didn't spend about $1000 on mining PCs and GPUs to help OTHER people, I can guarantee you that! Grin

What we really have is question about Bitcoin price. If the price continued to rise like the good old days, then everybody mining with decent equipment would be making a great ROI. A stagnant or dropping price presents a problem. Increases in adoption rates spark the price, and pay off the miners. In a direct way, a miner is self-interested in seeing adoption rates rise.

You may not have spent money on mining to "help others", but the point is that if you are mining coins today, you want them to be worth more tomorrow. Indeed it may not even be possible to turn a profit unless Bitcoin prices rises.

I'm betting that those who make the money in the future will be those who have their interests well balanced between mining, and the marketing and development of new products and services. Without question, miners and early adopters should be funding Bitcoin startups en masse.

I'm sorry, but your confusing me.  First your worried about Bitcoin future then you saying the future looks great.  Have you changed your outlook since you started this thread?

I think Bitcoin future looks great as the increase in difficulty and the rise in Bitcoin price seem to be coinciding quite nicely.

1928  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB ASIC ERUPTER - Setup & Config. BCG Miner, cgminer & Hubs "Oh Pi"! on: August 20, 2013, 03:21:34 PM
Hi guys,
with the latest version of cgminer, when i try to run my usb erupters i get che message :

" cgminer: -S: unrecognized option "

the launch string is :

cgminer -u user -p pass -o http://XXXXXXXXX  --disable-gpu --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100   -S //./COM8  -S //./COM9 -S //./COM10

Can you help me pls?  Smiley

There is no -S option in CGMiner since, I think, 3.1.1.

Also current version of CGMiner no longer use the Serial Port Redirector software/driver.
Sam

Edit: This is all explained in the ASIC Readme.  Also check the regular readme for the --usb syntax.

Bitcoin is dead

Thanks for letting us know.  I completely missed that memo.
1930  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3700 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 19, 2013, 10:16:23 AM
Hello,

recently I logged to my old deepbit account and I found there is sitting 0.63 BTC.

So I updated my payment address to actual a set payout to 0.01 to receive my balance.

In payout history I see payment of 0.63 BTC to my address. But NOTHING RECEIVED AT ALL.

Here is what I see when I click to my adress in payment history:

https://blockexplorer.com/address/1FCSMRKxoJ9sx8NZFfHofRCB4wqMPXBhBf

Will be happy to resolve this as soon as possible.

Thank you!

Deepbit will probably process the transaction when it finds a block.

Read today's post of the "Weekly Pool and Network Statistics" thread about BTCGuilds luck.  Maybe it's pertinent?

Does anybody have a pre-made bat that they successfully use to post? I am having trouble getting mine to work as well i have 18 usb miners and i'm limited to bitminter client. Also anyone else getting a lot of bombs?

CGMiner-nogpu -o <pool stuff>

Edit: Thats for versions of CGMiner past 3.1.1.  Currently using 3.3.4 myself, but had no issues since 3.3.1.
1934  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: For the love of the universe please someone help me with bfgminer on: August 16, 2013, 08:59:07 PM
Anyone aware of what might be or knows a solution?

Try posting in the BFGMiner Support thread, maybe?
1935  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.3.4 on: August 16, 2013, 02:33:33 PM
In this case I would assume that I've also have an average hashrate of 100GH at the pool, right?

It sounds like your implying that the pools estimate of your hash rate is correct??  If so it is not!

The pool has no idea what your hash rate is.  It's just an estimate.

With most pools you can change the time period which the hash rate is estimated for which will influence how fast and how accurate your estimate will be.
1936  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Somewhat new to mining, CGMiner question on: August 16, 2013, 01:19:19 AM
I'm still somewhat new to mining, so I'm starting out with a Satechi 12-port powered hub.  I have a total of 13 block eruptors.  I can invest in more hubs easy enough.  I've reviewed the specifications on the Satechi - each port provides 5 volts, 250 milliamps.

Block Erupters require 500ma.  So that is only half the power needed.  What is the voltage and the total current of the power supply itself?

If each of 12 ports can get 250ma then *maybe* 6 can get 500ma??
1937  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Somewhat new to mining, CGMiner question on: August 16, 2013, 12:47:55 AM
Argh,   Embarrassed

CGMiner is now showing all AMU devices, but those above AMU 3 are randomly showing 'invalid nonce - HW error'.
They're on a powered hub, but some consumer feedback indicated that the necessary power wasn't being sent to all ports in the hub.

Any thoughts?

How many ports do your hubs have?

What is the voltage and current the power supply for the hub capable of?

How many Block Erupter USB's are you plugging into each hub?

I have 7 port hubs which have 5 powered ports with 5Volt 2Amp power supplies.  I plug in 4 Erupters per hub which draws the max of 2 Amps.  Which isn't really a good idea to max them out like that but it's working OK for me so far.

1938  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: need help w/ BE's and jalapeno in cgminer on: August 15, 2013, 10:35:01 PM
For Jalapeno
cgminer-nogpu --usb ICA:0,BAS:8

For USB BE
cgminer-nogpu --usb ICA:9,BAS:0
Thanks, worked like a charm. Give me an address so I can send you a tip.

Glad to hear it.

1939  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3700 Gh/s] DeepBit.net PPS+Prop,instant payouts, we pay for INVALID BLOCKS too on: August 15, 2013, 10:23:06 PM
I should warn you that this is not profitable and probably won't worth it.

but my computer is on 24/7 as it is so wouldn't it be worth it?

If your CPU mining then you will use up allot more electricity than you will ever earn.  Same goes for low end GPU's now and maybe even for high end GPU's.

But like someone else said, if the Bitcoin price increases enough, who knows?
1940  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: CGMINER ASIC FPGA GPU overc monit fanspd RPC linux/win/osx/mip/r-pi 3.3.4 on: August 15, 2013, 02:34:36 PM
Different drivers need to be installed with zadig between 3.1.1 and 3.3.4.  What works in 3.1.1 will not work with 3.3.4.
3.3.4 being the much simpler route if your setting up a new system.

If your already committed to the serial drivers then that may not be the case.
