1921  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Buying food with BTC on: August 03, 2023, 02:42:56 PM
Do you know of any restaurants and/or supermarkets in the US and abroad that sells food for BTC? It would be nice to avoid Fiat altogether and use BTC to buy our life necessities. The only place I could think of is El Salvador with its acceptance of Bitcoin as legal tender. It's likely every merchant and business there accepts BTC as payment method. I don't know about the US and developed countries. Could someone enlighten me? Thanks in advance. Smiley
I heard that Rotan Island in Caribbean accepts bitcoin widely and bitcoin can be used to pay for whatever thing you want to buy in Rotan. They have a large bitcoin community on the Island so using bitcoin in their restaurant is accepted.

In my country bitcoin is illegal and I have never thought of using bitcoin for buying foodstuff because you can only use it in some businesses that accept bitcoin secretly. I don't think that we can deal without using fiat in this world because bitcoin and fiat goes hand in hand.
1922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another Fud in the market and bitcoin volatility on: August 02, 2023, 08:36:23 PM
There must be news for the price of bitcoin to pump or dump. US shouldn't take things easy and stop fronting as if they can pull the crypto market down with the issues that they are having with Binance and settle it maturely, instead of coming up with allegations on Binance.

Just like what @Cryptovator said,if they don't want their citizens to use crypto then let the come out plain and ban Binance US,i instead of trying to draw Binance to the ground. Anyway the price of bitcoin won't be affect that much, it will only be for a short time and I am not bothered about bitcoin price presently since am looking forward to 2025.
1923  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Vladimir Putin has forgiven $23 Billion in Dept Owed by Africa countries on: August 02, 2023, 08:21:23 PM
if you were a third world country where would allegiance be? The one who threatens you or the one who wants to work with you as a partner not as subordinate?

My allegiance would be not be anywhere. Africa's problem is they've been entirely reliant on other countries for economic development. They'd be better off if they could fix their own government by getting rid of the corruption and having a capitalistic economy. Most African countries are endless cycles of war, with preceeding leaders being violently overthrown with the proceeding leaders.

No wonder they rely on so much foreign investment. Nothing comes for free.
I don't think that Africa can be dependent on their own because they have relied so much on this foreign countries for everything that they will consume. Instead of a newly elected president to think on how he can improve the country economy, with the resources of the country. Instead he will go out to this foreign countries to seek for loans all in the name of wanting to help his people which ends up being a fat lie.

The leaders of Africa are the problem to Africa because of their shortsightedness. They will have citizens in their countries that can produce what they do import locally but instead, they will kill the talent of the citizen by not giving him the opportunity to showcase his talent. How will such country grow.
1924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ADVICE]Boy Wins $46k from Sports Bet but Can't Tell Strict Religious Parents... on: August 02, 2023, 07:52:27 PM
If the boy cared about his parents and didn't want to upset him because of his juvenile delinquency, then he should never have gambled. OK gambling is great for fun, but if you do win a lot of "tens of thousands of dollars" one day, then you shouldn't owe anyone for advice on how you should spend it.
Going against your parent will doesn't mean that you don't care about them. Especially when it comes to something that wouldn't bring a problem home. Maybe the boy has seen gambling as fun and felt that he needs to entertain himself with it regardless the commitment of his parent in their religious lives.

The parent of the boy will only get mad at him and will still take him as their son in the nearest future,if they were upset with him and tell him to return back the money and the boy refuses and for that reason he left the house or they sent him out of the house. Blood is thicker than water and one shouldn't allow our religion to make us sin against God. One shouldn't because of his religious belief and disown his child because forgiveness plays a major role in religious practice.
1925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do wager affect outcomes in any provably fair games on: August 02, 2023, 07:39:41 PM
I don't see it so from my side because even when I wager on small amount I stil do win. I have tried this your strategy sometime ago but I ended up losing the game. I gamble for fun and I don't care if I will increase the amount of money to win big since I already have a gamble budget for the week.

Maybe this is your own gambling strategy but does it work for you always or once in a while because I know that gambling is based on luck and not based on how much you wager to win the game. Wager and wins don't have anything in common,is just that when you wager big,you will have the chance of winning big.

1927  Economy / Economics / Re: What's the effect of having plenty children to the national economy of a country on: August 01, 2023, 04:46:08 PM
Is there an effect both positive or negative to the county's economy when couples have plenty children?
This boils down to the government to help the citizens to be skillful, educated and responsible. In a country where there is a large population and abundant mineral resources,it is a blessing to have plenty children, if the government cares about it's citizens. Why I said the government is this,as these children are growing and their parents have jobs that they can use to feed the family. If the government also provide free education and technical schools, open a scheme of empowerment to empower the youths. The citizens will be productive and the country's economy will flourish.

One the other hand if the government of that country doesn't have the citizens at hand so this will be a disaster because plenty children by a poor man might not be able to have an opportunity to contribute to the country's economy because they will be discouraged by the government corrupt system and will become irrelevant to contribute to the growth of the economy. China is a case study.I could remember in the 90s China has a large population and was among one of the poorest country but  the government saw poverty as a disease and worked on the betterment of the country by sending their children abroad to go and learn more on technology and the rest. Now China is among the most powerful country and their currency is also valuable.
1928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Collective bets in local lotteries on: August 01, 2023, 04:26:07 PM
Would like to know your takes on betting as a group to raise chances in local
Lotteries

I know that mathematically the chances are still really low even if you multiply it 100x but in Brazil at least we’ve seen some local lottery prizes given for small groups of 20 or 30 people betting betting with 5000x tickets let’s say

If dreaming alone is cool dreaming in groups can be even better
Two heads are better than one,the chance of winning will be higher than when a single person is betting since it is a group thing. One thing that you should also put into consideration is that no matter how many gamblers coming together to do the maths their chances of winning is still 50-50 because gambling is all about luck.

I wouldn't love to gamble as a group because there can be some misunderstanding when it comes to division of funds after winning big. I prefer the solo gambling that if I loss it's all my funds and if I win,I have all the funds. However,it is fun gambling as a group.
1929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: August 01, 2023, 04:17:16 PM
Considering the experience and tactical ability of Pep Guardiola and the current squad of Manchester City, I think the club wouldn't feel any significant effect about the players that's left the club this summer transfer window.
IIkay Gundogan after his departure was immidiately replaced by Mateo Kovacic while Riyad Mahrez who's yet to be replaced wasn't a regular starter last season. The transfer window is still open which means that City can still sign few more players before the end of the transfer window. But even if they fail to make any more signing, City will still perform well in Europe
Manchester City is set to confront fresh challenges after winning the UEFA Champions League title; they are the current reigning Champions and widely regarded as the best club in the world. Pep Guardiola does not appear concerned about his departing players; perhaps he has a backup substitute for every key player at the club. Chelsea's Kovacic will take over for Ilkay Gundogan. Manchester City's performance would be smoother than ever before, thanks to Pep's relentless work on the club's anticipated performance, always ready to take things to the next level.

although there is no guarantee about this, it makes me a little more sure because this season Man City has not made many changes to their line-up despite losing several players, but they still have reliable players like Haaland and my belief is based because all Man City players have good consistency. very high and very solid in every game so dont rely on certain players even every player has the opportunity to score like last season maybe Haaland was able to perform well in the EPL but in the champions league not too good but instead other players performed very well so Im very sure if Pep still have the goal to get the champions league trophy again and that for sure.
Manchester city game doesn't rely only on one player that is why you see that they were victorious last season. So if Mehiz hasn't been replaced,I don't see this as any problem in the team quality. Pep is an coach with much experience, which he has displayed in various leagues and won the UCL.

I believe that Manchester city will perform greatly this coming season in UCL if they can put in the performance of last season. One thing I observe is that these players are never tired and very strong to be injured. Halaad is a gift to the club and I know that he will also assist his club with lot of goals just as he did last season. I hope to see their performance soonest when the league starts this season.
1930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lets Discuss All Casino/Gambling Related Movies Here on: July 31, 2023, 07:20:47 PM
I hope for this thread to become one of the mega threads centered only on casino/gambling related movies and its discussions only, so to keep the thread as clean as possible, and from possible hijack from spammers ...

I haven't seen any gambling related movie before now but I know it will be interesting.  I mean a movie that the whole story line is based on gambling and not the one that has a few gambling scene. This thread will be nice if the purpose is to fight against gambling addiction. I know there is different ethics in movie industries based on different countries. But a good gambling movie should have a story line that discourages gambling addiction.

I've watched one of the most prolific and hilarious movie on gambling which titles B13, maybe some of us would have watched this same movie because it's all about gambling but in this time, a bet that uses human lives as stakes which is very bad, one of the main actors that features the movie is 50cent, you could imagine a situation where gambling like that expressed in the movie exist and people still do it all because of the big money involved.
Any gambling movie which people gambled with their lives should be purely fictional and will never exist
I don't really think that B13 is a gambling movie instead it is more about drug and a gangsterism. But the actor was deceived to go and destroy a a setup that looks like a missile and after all was done, they found out that B13 wasn't a weapon for mass destruction but it was a trick that was played on the actor to recover the object.

Of course, the first movie that comes to mind is "Casino Royale" from the James Bond series. In my opinion, it's the best Bond movie with Daniel Craig in the lead role and one of the best Bond movies in general. It not only brought a fresh and more realistic take on the character but also introduced us to a more vulnerable and human side of James Bond.
@Fat fork, this was the first gambling movie that came into my mind when I was reading OP's thread. It is a superb movie by James Bond and it is still my best gambling movie till date.
1931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: July 31, 2023, 07:08:10 PM
Mbappe refuse to play in any other team, other than PSG and Real Madrid. I don't think a player who refused a very big offer from Saudi Arabia clubs is willing to join Chelsea or Liverpool. These two teams aren't ok last season and doubts are still present concerning how they will perform this season. I doubt he will join EPL.

Mbappe has his sights set on Real Madrid and wouldn’t be motivated by the money to move over to play at the Saudi league even if it’s just for a season. Just cause he refused the almost unbelievable offer offered by the Saudis, that doesn’t mean he won’t be at some point be willing to play in the EPL.
I personally think he just doesn’t fancy the idea of playing in the Saudi league and I think he still wants to play competitive football which he won’t probably won’t get at the Saudi league.
You are right mate,Mbappe wouldn't like playing in SPL because there are no great competitions there unlike these big leagues that do have a challenge in European tournaments amongst themselves. Mbappe needs trophies and wants to play with great skilled players either against his against or with his club so that he can bring out the best in him.

Mbappe is a youngster that just started shinning in his football career and can achieve more great records by breaking the history of other football legends, but if he plays in SPL it will be difficult for his dreams to come true. These are some of the reason why he isn't after morning but making history.
1932  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is your DCA solution? on: July 31, 2023, 06:59:39 PM
I'll tell you a little story here, I have been doing DCA for a long time and hope to continue because I always set aside every week or month to buy BTC.

I buy Bitcoin from Binance exchange and some other exchanges but the withdrawal is quite expensive, at the moment but what I often use is Binance exchange which I think is the highest exchange and with its reputation.

My DCA is not big at most per week $15/$20 sometimes once a month $50, I store on the exchange until the estimated $100 when it is reached I withdraw it to a private wallet for security because I don't want to store all assets on parties when like exchanges, therefore I am a little burdened by high fees when withdrawing - for example on Binance bitcoin withdrawal is 0.0005BTC or ($14) that money is quite meaningful to me if you think about it.

I just a little advice where to buy bitcoin with minimal withdrawal such as I buy bitcoin $20 and withdrawal fee $1, it's not heavy for me if the fee is still $1.

 Smiley
You should pile up your funds to a certain amount and when it has gotten to a significant amount, you should use it for your DCA instead of this little weekly DCA method to save you the cost on weekly transaction fees.

You use also use p2p method on a decentralized exchange for this so that you can have a high level of privacy. And if you want to use Binance then you should use the Lightning Network for your transaction, since the transaction rate with be cheaper and faster. These are the same suggestions that has been given to you by the other posters above.
1933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 18, holding my bitcoin and looking forward :) on: July 31, 2023, 05:28:59 PM
Interesting, you have 1BTC and I hope that you are not using a centralized platform to store your coins, because 1BTC is a big funds and keeping it safe from scammers should be your priority. Use a noncustodial wallet like electrum on an airgap device. Not your keys, not your coins,be in full control of your bitcoin investment.

You should know that the price of bitcoin will pump high and I will suggest that you should have a price target so that if bitcoin reaches that price you can sell of because nobody can predict the actual price bitcoin will hit in the next ATH. You are still very young and I know that with your little knowledge on bitcoin, you will have a successful bitcoin journey. If you can hodli for the next two circles, you will make higher profit

1935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A weird belief among some gamblers. on: July 30, 2023, 07:11:32 PM
Yea, some gamblers don't like such thing by revealing their bets to people. I am cool with allowing someone to copy my prediction and bet the same with me because who knows if I win, then he can also win and he will see me like one pro. The outcome of the game remains the same when you show someone your slip or not

Although, this kind of thing do happen if the first gambler sometimes predict rightly and he has been known in that area that he has good knowledge or luck of his games. Apart from this, I don't see any reason why someone will want to copy the prediction of another gambler. This means that the game copier doesn't understand what why he is gambling.
1936  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Indigenous education is as important as Western education. on: July 30, 2023, 06:39:30 PM
So is to be blamed on the death of traditional education. You said it yourself that you can't even give your own kids tradition education because you are not in a village but rather in a city. Traditional education still exists in our local villages, where our grand parents are, they are the right people to impact those knowledge on our kids because we the youths are carried away with technology and civilization.

How can you live in a city and teach your child tradition education when you want your child to be used to western education because you have plans that someday s/he will travel abroad. I believe that those people in the local villages are being thought tradition education. During holidays, you should allow your children to go spend their holidays in the village.
1937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: July 29, 2023, 04:26:18 PM
Real Madrid is Real Madrid, this club may have been bad last season but it's always easy to get back up and become a threat to its competitors, especially in La Liga which will always be a place where Real Madrid shows its existence. In the Champions League next season they can definitely make a change for the better. I know that today's young squad still needs development, but Ancelotti is used to this and still deserves to give everything he has before the end of his contract.
I totally agree with you. Real Madrid is one of the biggest teams in the world, and Carlo Ancelotti is also a good coach who has a winning mentality. Their poor performance last season must have been evaluated and I'm sure they have high expectations this season. They haven't brought many players this season, but I think they will still be strong candidates in the title race.
Real Madrid performed brilliantly last season but they weren't lucky enough to win UCL. Everyday is not Christmas and I don't think that Real Madrid is the only club in Laliga and UCL that will always win the leagues as if it is their birth right. From season to season the strongest club that is in form without injuries to set them back will always come out successful.

Ancelotti needs to get a striker that will replace Benzema and I think that the club in still in a good shape and are also preparing for next season. I know that they will perform better this season and will be lucky too.
1938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ADVICE]Boy Wins $46k from Sports Bet but Can't Tell Strict Religious Parents... on: July 29, 2023, 04:13:34 PM
The decision to make is in the boys hand. If he loves his parents and he is still a mummy's boy then he wouldn't be able to leave the house because he will miss his parents a lot,and there is no way that he would stay in the same house with his parents that his dad wouldn't hear the news from the way he spends and other people can tell the dad. This will be the worst because what you were  hiding will be exposed, since you can't hide 46k just like that.

On the other hand,if he sees himself old enough to be a man,he should tell his parent and if they disagree with the wins, he can go get an apartment and invest the money into a business that he has knowledge on. If his parent disown him, that shouldn't be a problem after all he is rich and wouldn't need anything from them.
1939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino Slot Steamers on: July 29, 2023, 03:58:42 PM
Streamers works hand in hand with the casino and they are been paid for what they are doing by the casino. A streamer can influence their followers gamble more than they can afford forgetting that they are not the streamers. I have seen a gambler that do watch Drake streaming on Stake that what to copy such life style when he is not financially buoyant.

I will prefer playing slots than watching a streamer because I might be lucky and hit the jackpot but if I watch the streamer there is no hope of any win. Actually, I watch streamers sometimes for fun and nothing more. If you watch these streamers one might become an addict if he doesn't know his left from his right.
1940  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'm new here on Bitcointalk because Bitcointalk is important for Bitcoin on: July 29, 2023, 03:42:51 PM
I hope, I'm not late for Bitcoin because Bitcoin already grew a lot.
You are late to bitcoins like I was, thing is we should have started earlier, but since we are starting now, it is still good.
I don't think so, Mr Peter Ben is still early to bitcoin because he can still invest now that the price of bitcoin is 29k+ and he will still experience the bull run next two years. Bitcoin is something that you must be ready and prepared for.

You are in the right place to learn a whole lot on bitcoin and its blockchain technology. Feel free to navigate round the forum and look for boards that are of your interest. Whatever that you don't understand be free to ask questions as we have experts here that will help you. The technical side of bitcoin is not compulsory to know before you can invest in bitcoin. Bitcoin has its basics as soon as you know that your bitcoin journey will be a success.
