1921  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon batch#2 Re-open 2/18 on: February 26, 2013, 02:14:01 AM
My order on feb 2nd was placed on http://store.avalon-asics.com/ and paid in full to walletbit.

There are no recent orders under my account.  Huh
Walletbit trying to help out but so far no news
yifu & company won't respond

a month has gone by and I still have no idea if they have my correct shipping information.

Same, save that I ordered on the 3rd and opened a support ticket on the fourth. Not a peep from Avalon more than three weeks later.

Love what's going on in the state houses of Utah and New Hampshire.

From the above link:

Quote
The Judicial Branch states the bill establishes a class A misdemeanor for any public officer, employee, or agent of the state of New Hampshire, or any employee of a corporation providing services to the state of New Hampshire, who enforces or attempts to enforce sections 1021 or 1022 of the National Defense Authorization Act.
1923  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How The Government & Media Cheated Ron Paul on: February 25, 2013, 01:56:49 AM
There's nothing conservative at all about the former Governor of Massachusetts. He's conservative like Shillary Clinton is conservative.

He just downplayed his liberal roots to increase his contrast with Barry in the short term. It was a transparent shell game and he never had a chance of beating the POTUS.

The main line of both Democrats and Republican are populist, TV is a populist media.
They have no obligation to report objective.

As for the allegation of voter fraud, the video in OP simply doesn't tell the whole story.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2012
According to this Romney won by a wide margin, period.

You can complain about this all you like, but the fact of the matter is you have to blame the voters for paying attention to the populist media and not scream foul play once you get beaten. That's how it works, thank you and try again.
So despite all popularism only works in a political vacuum. Had Paul's agenda been more coherent he would have beaten Romney despite being supported by the populist media.

That's your evidence? LOL

What's your explanation of what happened in Maine? I know, don't have one. This is very simple vote rigging and it was widespread. Just because you personally disagree with some of RPs policies doesn't make these glaring problems with supposedly fair elections or unbiased media go away. It wasn't RP vs Mitt Romney and the rest of the RINOs for the Rep nomination, it was RP vs the media and Rep establishment. Mitt Romney is the candidate that was chosen to oppose a very weak presidient's re-selection bid because he never had a chance to win and how could he have won? Where does he differ from Obama? Mitt Romney was such a weak candidate that the single American political party had to rig the primary to beat a vastly superior candidate and they had to do it in an obvious way and I'm glad they did, because it helps to make it obvious that we do not have free elections or anything approaching objectivity in the media here in the USSA.

Ron Paul is a Republican.

Are you suggesting that most Republicans agree with Mitt Romney?

Ron Paul is a Libertarian who is member of the Republican party. The Republican party is a conservationist party and Libertarianism is an interpretation of Conservatism.
Yes as it seems more Republicans agree with Mitt Romney.

...based on what? Is Mitt Romney conservative?

You seem to want to take your issues with Libertarianism and use them to deflect the actual topic of this thread. The nomination process was subverted by the media and the Republican party. Your video has nothing to do with the topic of this thread.
1926  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How The Government & Media Cheated Ron Paul on: February 25, 2013, 12:02:10 AM
Ron Paul is a Republican. The Republican party used to support the vast majority of the positions RP has continued to endorse his entire career. The Republican party moved away from RP, not vice-versa.

Are you suggesting that most Republicans agree with Mitt Romney? Did Mitt Romney win the nomination fairly? Who won the CA straw poll?

Your video didn't address any of the media anomalies pointed out by the video in the OP.
1927  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How The Government & Media Cheated Ron Paul on: February 24, 2013, 11:56:46 PM
I just leave that here.

http://youtu.be/7OtSVPo9f6Y

Thanks, but I fail to see what it has to do with the topic at hand.

If America is a Representative Democracy, a Constitutional Republic, or even a Democracy as is so oft erroneously repeated, then free and untarnished elections are absolutely vital...yet we clearly do not have them. So on our map of the three boxes to correct Government gone awry we have:

Soapbox
Ballot box
Ammo box
1928  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How The Government & Media Cheated Ron Paul on: February 24, 2013, 11:45:49 PM
The entire election process was a sham. The ratio of RP to Romney signs I saw in my travels was around 20:1. Then when the nomination was won stolen by Romney the ratio of Obama to Romney signs was roughly the same. The whole thing was a joke...a very expensive joke. RP was never going to be allowed to be on a ballot opposite the POTUS, it was always going to be Obama lite and an easy re-selection. Why would a conservative minded voter cast a ballot for Romney? Choice is an illusion.

Now all we gotta do is get everyone to realize it Smiley  It's a tough job, no pay, long hours, and you're bound to be insulted and laughed at every five minutes or less.  You down?

I'm 44 fingers old, I've traveled that road for years. I no longer bother with those that don't already sense something very wrong with the world around them and have the courage to say as much. When I do detect these folks(usually wise beyond their years youngins) I begin by handing them an American Silver Eagle and asking them it's value as it clearly states 1 USD on it as well as one ounce fine silver. Depending on their answer and the amount of time they think over that question I carefully move the topic to WTC7, which not one person ever has even known existed. I've even been called a liar for suggesting that there was more than two steel structured buildings brought down on their own footprints in NYC on 9/11/2001. The media is a powerful force and even those that say they don't trust their government will bury their heads in the sand and become defensive if you begin to convince them that their government is actively working against them.

1930  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: February 24, 2013, 10:56:14 PM
becoin, you are ridiculous. You said word for word "BFL is going to deliver something like a bitcoin mining ASIC", which contradicts "BFL is a scam" (because everybody except you interprets it as meaning "BFL will deceive by not delivering anything").

In your very own vocabulary, "is a scam" seems to mean "is late". If that is what you want to complain about then use the adjective "late", not the noun "scam". How many times do I have to explain this?

it may not be that black and white. For arguments sake, lets assume BFL gets their 75K chips tomorrow, assembles everything and then  does "burn in tests" of  their hardware for 6 months straight before shipping. Would that make it a scam or just late?

+1

This would meet my definition of a scam. ASICMiner is online and some Avalon units are confirmed hashing yet still nothing concrete from the first company to announce an ASIC mining product and here's the COO of BFL balking at accepting a simple 20BTC bet that they'll be able to deliver a very small number of working ASICs by 3/20/2013. This is a stunning nine months after they began taking in funds for this "product" and five months after their first shipping deadline has come and gone. That bet should be easy money for a BFL officer that has the inside dope on whats going on within the company...unless things aren't nearly as rosy as they're being portrayed. A huge red flag for anyone considering a BFL investment at this time IMO regardless how JZ tries to spin it.
1931  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: February 24, 2013, 09:38:29 PM
it has gotten quiet, i am just wondering, are there any updates, especially regarding the ASIC order and the refund?

Yeah pretty quiet lately, there just isn't a lot to report while we await our transition to ASIC hardware.

I received a walletbit confirmation of sorts of our order via email, though there's no confirmed shipping information so I continue to press Avalon reps for clarification. We are not alone in this, others that ordered on the 2nd and 3rd are in a similar situation, they simply didn't have things running properly when they opened batch 2 orders. Other than ASICMiner slowly coming online we've been fortunate to remain profitable with GPU mining and the huge gains BTC has made vs fiat obviously works in our favor given our BTC reserves.

I've received nothing from BTCFPGA or Tom with regard to our BTC refund. The fact that some have received refunds gives me a glimmer of hope that we'll eventually receive something.

This is what I got from Walletbit on 2/19 via email:

Ive recieved nothing from AVAlon from the botched order in batch 2 on feb 3rd. I have a confirm walletbit though. I've PM'd BitSyncom due to an Urgent Shipping address change as he stated to do in the thread dedicated to that. I included my wallet bit tickect number and my order email and my support ticket number to avalon. Apparently he is looking into them himself personally.... still waiting.......

BitSyncom PLEASE GET BACK TO ME! asap a confirmation email is useless unless you double check the shipping address.

+1

I now have the walletbit confirmation and the blockchain.info, but Avalon's site still maintains that I have no orders. I've entered my current shipping address there just as I did when I placed the order, but since nothing coming back to me has a confirmed shipping address on it or even confirmation of my order with Avalon it makes me uneasy.
1935  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: February 21, 2013, 06:44:21 PM
Remember October was a sure bet then November rush before Christmas holiday's

oh then it was Chinese new year as that was gonna be no effect on BFL customers

Now its talk of around March and IF you order now maybe May or June.

So why was October-November such a sure bet?

...because it helped to draw sales of FPGAs and GPUs to BFL's vaporware campaign.
1936  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: A letter from Avalon on: February 21, 2013, 03:05:15 PM
I got nothing. Thought they had it fixed on Sunday the 3rd, but apparently not.
1937  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Scammer Accusation] BTC-e.com or Balthazar on: February 21, 2013, 02:39:47 PM
I don't know that I'd call this a scam exactly, but it does have an unpleasant aroma. I won't be using btc-e until this crap goes away. It's difficult to believe anyone would trade a BTC for 78 of these useless coins, but I guess there truly is a sucker born every minute.

Vircurex will surely benefit from this idiocy.
1938  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: February 21, 2013, 01:39:24 PM

I think that officially rules out any possibility of February shipping and makes the first couple weeks of March seem unlikely as well.
1939  Economy / Gambling / Re: 80 BTC bet between Micon and mrb (are BFL ASICs real?) on: February 21, 2013, 12:45:49 PM
Question.  Reading through this thread, I didn't at any point read a post from Micon saying that BFL is an outright scam.  Did I miss this as well?  It seems to me that the bets he is taking are more of a calling-them-on-bullshit-timeframe kind of thing, with a strong hint of looks-like-they-tried-and-probably-failed, which to me seems entirely legitimate considering the fact that BFL has collected what seems to be millions of dollars in pre-orders, while producing nothing more than excuse after excuse.  How is Micon a scammer? How is he a liar?

Josh calls pretty much everyone he disagrees with an idiot, a liar, and usually something along the lines of failure/trailer trash...etc. It's very formulaic and predictable and likely says more about his own inner demons than the person he's attacking at any particular time. This has been his "policy" for longer than the Micon/Zerlan debate has been raging. It's very much akin to political mud slinging. If you cannot offer anything of substance to refute a claim you attempt to lower the credibility of your challenger(s).
1940  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL: Chips have shipped, on their way to US on: February 20, 2013, 11:08:53 PM
You'd think they would've waited to fly someone across the globe until they had a product to demonstrate.

Hopefully BFL has learned something about the dangers of setting target dates when you're directly controlling very few steps of the overall project and when you're placing a very small order compared to the average customer in the sector.

Good one.

The problem is that accurate shipping estimates and continuing pre-order sales revenues are incompatible concepts. Nobody is this grotesquely incompetent. Avalon got a couple units out, ASICMiner is online, BFL needed something. Another nonsensical timeline gives them something to placate the faithful while difficulty continues to rise.
