1921  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: do you accept bitcoins in your business on: June 18, 2016, 08:59:38 AM
Definitely do. I sell my goods and services for bitcoin, although I do not have a business. However, I would love to see more merchants using bitcoin as a payment method that they use daily.

There are already some, but not enough ;P
1922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have to sell to make a living? on: June 18, 2016, 08:57:44 AM
Well, considering that you have to have around $3,000 AUD here at least a month to sustain a comfortable middle class lifestyle, assuming that there is minimal rent and no debt outstanding, you need around 3 BTC a month.

Which isn't that bad if you think about it.
1923  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I'd like to get some bitcoins. Is now a good time to do so? on: June 18, 2016, 08:55:38 AM
Definitely. In my opinion it's always a good time to get into bitcoin, whether you buy a large amount or small amount. It's good to experiment with some real bitcoins instead of dust.

I suggest you get it from Localbitcoins.com. Best exchange I've used.
1924  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which Bitcoin Exchange do you use and why ? on: June 18, 2016, 08:53:41 AM
I use Localbitcoins because each trade is personalized with you and you can trade with a number of traders, which you can choose from. You always are 100% protected from the escrow system.

All other exchanges are pretty impractical IMO.
1925  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where can I invest? on: June 18, 2016, 08:52:14 AM
I guess you could invest in any of the 3 investments listed below:

Cloud mining - Risky with the chance of your cloud mining company being a ponzi scheme.
P2P lending - Still risky, but choose a person with a good credit rating and you should be right.
Holding BTC - The best out of the three. Stable profits, no real 3rd party risk.
1926  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin better or paypal? on: June 18, 2016, 08:48:45 AM
I use both bitcoin and paypal, I have not met any issue or difficulty using.  It is convenient way to send and receive money.  Besides, not all people are familiar with bitcoins.  You can still trade, receive, and send money by using both.

Yeah, I think it is good to use both of them. Each of them have benefits and detriments. I think that it is good to buy stuff with Paypal, as you can open a dispute if necessary.

But it's probably best to receive BTC instead, as it is irreversible.
1927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how do i make confirmations on blockchain faster on: June 18, 2016, 08:45:25 AM
Well, if you're experiencing problems with your transaction in terms of its priority, then try to increase your fees to double or even triple the recommended transaction fees on bitcoin network.

But you can't really control when blocks are mined, so if you're already paying enough fees, you can't really do anything about it.
1928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello friends.. new guy here! on: June 18, 2016, 08:44:14 AM
I think that the best thing to do is definitely to hold your bitcoins until halving day, because all of the other options are way too risky to actually do. However, you could if you want to yourself.

Investing in a ponzi is not cool. You're robbing other people essentially.
1929  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is the Founder of Bitcoin?! on: June 18, 2016, 08:42:47 AM
i have hear about a person who is from japan. his name is SATOSHI NAKAMOTO. he develop the bitcoin and now it is going to be become a global currency.

Well, satoshi is certainly the founder of bitcoin but nobody really knows who satoshi is. He chooses to stay anonymous and there are many hoaxes about who he actually is(Dorian and Wright).

I think it's best to leave him alone.
1930  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin exchange websites without withdrawal fees on: June 18, 2016, 08:41:11 AM
I noticed that almost all Bitcoin exchange websites I know have a withdrawal fee.
So, I want to know if there are websites that have not this withdrawal fee.

If you would like to buy bitcoins, I suggest you try Localbitcoins. It says in their FAQ that they charge a withdrawal fee, but in reality whenever I withdraw from them I don't get charged a withdrawal fee.

It is also pretty reputable Smiley
1931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Does it have a POSITIVE IMPACT on your life? on: June 18, 2016, 08:37:56 AM
Well, I think it does. Bitcoin has made me more hopeful about things in general, especially about the world economy. It also forced me to save and invest money, instead of wasting money everyday.

But sometimes I gamble all my funds, and that is obviously bad Sad
1932  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: June 18, 2016, 08:36:23 AM
Well, this world has definitely become iconic to this forum. The misspelt title somehow became popular and everyone is using it now Tongue Anyway, I think it's a great idea to hold right now, with the halving coming up.

Waiting for another price hike!
1933  Economy / Speculation / Re: So which of these is more likely to occur on: June 18, 2016, 08:21:51 AM
Now that news sources are reporting more about BTC again, are people who've never heard of BTC more likely to
1) Buy
2) Sell

Well, I think that it's a bit obvious that most people are going to buy bitcoins if they hear it for the first time. Who would have a bitcoin to sell when they first hear of the thing bitcoin?

I mean, think about it...
1934  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2.5 Years in Bitcoin and still holding. on: June 18, 2016, 08:14:06 AM
Nice! Never heard of a guy who have worked for their coins and still held it instead of paying rent or their living expenses with the coin. And you must really be enjoying this halving hype so far Tongue

I congratulate you on your success.
1935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin from illegal activities on: June 18, 2016, 08:13:14 AM
I'm curious now what they called the bitcoin from illegal activities. I know it but just forgot the term they called it.  Just like the bitcoin from alphabay and other sites from tor. I wanna know how they make it become clean bitcoin except using mixers. Maybe there is a wallet now that will make it a fresh bitcoin without the stain from illegal activities. Or it still the mixers they used?

Well, bitcoins are definitely used for illegal activities. Especially on the dark web, dealing with drugs, guns, hitman services and stuff like that. Another example would be the British pedo who used BTC as payment.

But bitcoin is not solely used for illegal activities. A lot of people use it for legit purposes.
1936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: June 18, 2016, 08:12:01 AM
Well, I heard about bitcoin from the all time high of 2013. The price then was around $1000 I think, and bitcoin was looking really promising. However the price dropped off as soon as I joined BTC, which was weird Roll Eyes

Should have heard of it earlier, never got the opportunity though.
1937  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 49 days till the halving, time is flying now on: June 18, 2016, 08:10:48 AM
Well, get your bitcoins while you still can!

Halving is a huge hype in the community, definitely the one that we actually really needed. Where the price will go to nobody knows but we know for sure that the price will go up even further from current levels Tongue
1938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am pretty confident we are the new wealthy elite, gentlemen. on: June 18, 2016, 08:09:55 AM
lol Lendary Thread

Definitely. The fact that it's posted by an anonymous person as well just makes this thread so special.

I definitely agree with you even now. Although some people may say that bitcoin has no future and the price is already at its highest, and it may never go higher again, I believe in otherwise. I believe in bitcoin, and I believe that whoever believes in it will get rewarded A LOT.
1939  Economy / Speculation / Re: Oldtimers, how does this rally make you feel? on: June 18, 2016, 08:05:32 AM
I think that something volcanic is happening right now since the price has been going up nonestop and I believe that the all time high of bitcoin price will be broken a few months after halving.

And to the oldtimers that bought BTC in 2013 at over $1000 - BTC price is already over $1000 in AUD terms, don't you worry Wink
1940  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you like to receive your salary in BTC? on: June 18, 2016, 08:04:15 AM
Definitely. I wouldn't mind at all if I received my salary in bitcoin, especially if the salary was fixed in bitcoin rather than based on the USD values. I use bitcoin as a unit of account already.

If a lot of people accept their salary in BTC, then there will be a huge boom in bitcoin's price as well.
