1921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano inquiry on: June 18, 2020, 11:46:02 PM
If I remember correctly, Cardano was identified as the most developed project in the last year, having more developer activity than any other project (Ethereum included).

This indicates that a lot of money is being put into actually making Cardano the best it can be, rather than simply relying on community commits like most other cryptocurrencies do.

That doesn't mean it's going to be a success in the long-run, but the guys behind IOHK definitely look like they know what they're doing.

I mean Charles Hoskinson even co-founded Ethereum, so if he could make the 2nd most popular blockchain, you can be pretty sure he could push Cardano up to be similarly popular.
1922  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vietnam bursts an illegal casino who used to handle bets worth $3 billions on: June 18, 2020, 10:00:02 PM
Pretty incredible that a casino of that size was able to operate under the radar for so long.

Even if he had a house of judge 1%, that means the guy successfully generated $30 million in profit without even raising a suspicion? The place more likely had a crazy high house edge too, given that it was already operating illegally, so something like 3% ($90m profit) is more likely (deducting operating costs).

Not really much of a difference between a licensed an unlicensed platform so long as they're using fair equipment and not rigging the games. But the government's gotta get its share of the revenue or its curtains!
1923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Covid wave vs Bitcoin on: June 18, 2020, 09:06:38 PM
I don't think we'd see the same knee jerk reaction we saw when the virus first got declared as a pandemic.

The numbers weren't even anywhere near at their peak at the time the World Health Organization made its announcement, and yet the stock market and everything else was sent crashing.

Therefore, it's really not about the numbers. The coronavirus is still a pandemic (as far as I know), and the numbers will likely stay lower than the first peak (by which point Bitcoin and most other assets were already well on their way to recovery).

If the WHO goes and say it's even worse than a pandemic, then expect another drop.
1924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fundraising ICO wannabe on: June 18, 2020, 06:15:50 PM
They're not rising from the deep, ICOs have always been around—they're just less abundant than they once were because everybody got rekt back in 2017/2018.

You can be fairly sure that any ICO that appears nowadays will either outright fail due to a lack of enthusiasm, or will perform extremely well as an outlier. There is no in between anymore because nobody wants to get burned if there isn't something spectacular on offer.

I'd recommend just staying away from ICOs unless investing as part of a crypto fund, since they're able to secure rates that retail investors simply can't compete with.
1925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What should replace comps with Brick n mortar casinos in online casinos? on: June 18, 2020, 04:37:20 PM
Brick and mortar casinos can only afford to give away these incentives because they typically have a much higher house edge than most online casinos. It is very unlikely for you to see a game with a less than 3% house edge in a physical casino, whereas practically every popular online casino game (at least in the crypto world) has a house edge less than 3%, while many are under 1.5%.

There is nothing else these places can do to incentivize users, unless people want to opt for a higher house edge in return for benefits like these—which I doubt any reasonable person would do.

1926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING ]: Fury vs Wilder III in Las Vegas on 18th July 2020 !!! on: June 17, 2020, 11:53:01 PM

Wilder is not going to retire, that's my prediction, and I even think that it will be hard for Fury to beat Wilder in the 3rd time, Wilder is also thinking of his future so it's going to be a slug·fest and we will like to see that as it's not a boring fight. We won't see the same Wilder, what we are going to see is a Wilder that is very aggressive in beating his opponent and I believe that will put pressure on Fury as he can't use his length advantage and he will be back on the conversation of the top boxers in the division.

He should retire.

He's actually taken quite a few injuries in recent years, busted his hand several times and ripped his bicep just recently. He's not in tip top shape anymore, I doubt he can even throw his right hand anymore like he should do, considering that he literally damages his own body when he his people.

Fury will probably mop the floor with him in 3 rounds next time. If it goes on longer, then it will only be because Fury wants to entertain the crowd some more.

How can you be aggressive when you know that your hand is completely rekt?
1927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There Are Now More Than 8,000 Bitcoin ATM's Worldwide on: June 17, 2020, 10:58:46 PM
I don't believe in crypto ATMs, they're definitely not the way to mass adoption.

Most of them have a ridiculously high exchange fee of between 7-10% (some even more), and most now require KYC verification to use.

Why the hell would I go through all of that, when I can do exactly the same through Coinbase for a far lower fee and have the money in my account within seconds?

STRONG PASS ON CRYPTO ATMS.
1928  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto.Games ⭐ 0.8% House Edge on Dice ⭐ Largest wagering contest...ever ⭐ on: June 17, 2020, 10:56:33 PM

no way that can be real

Of course it's real. Remember, the high roller board only shows wins or losses over a certain threshold, most people on Crypto.Games bet low on a high multiplier, hence why most of the board is green.

But sometimes you'll see high wagers with a high win chance, similar to today's high roller board.

1929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stable Coin Treasury keep minting coin why ? on: June 17, 2020, 10:15:58 PM
People usually believe that a large amount of stablecoins being minted is an indicator that institutional traders and hedge funds are looking to move money into crypto.

That said, I don't think there is a huge correlation. It will take more than a few hundred million in new capital to really affect the industry, given the fact that Bitcoin alone has a market cap of $1 billion.

People are just trying to make out that there is a method to the madness, and that tracking these whales is a way to make sense of it all—its not.
1930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos are open - end of the Pandemic era. on: June 17, 2020, 08:18:32 PM
Looks like Las Vegas are heading for a second wave.

If the incubation time is around 14 days and they just re-opened last week, then we should start seeing a new wave emerging in the next few days.

I don't really get how you could possibly implement safety measures in a place like this. People seem to forget that you don't actually need to be near someone who has the virus to contract it. You just need to be in close proximity to the objects and places they were in contact with—e.g. the table or slot machine they were playing at.

If people want to go there and risk death, then good riddance, people are dumb af.
1931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE NEXT ETH?? on: June 17, 2020, 06:25:45 PM
I think Klaytn by Kakao and Line's Link platforms stand the best chance of achieving mass growth.

These are two blockchain based messaging platforms that were recently launched in Asia, they don't get much coverage here in the west, but they've already racked up millions of users each.

Surprisingly there's a huge amount of focus on things like Cosmos and Chainlink, while these two sleeping beasts have scored tens of millions of users but get no media coverage.

Strange indeed.
1932  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NANO] 2020 Projects launched this year for nano ecosystem on: June 17, 2020, 04:33:44 PM
Most major projects have continued developing in recent years, not sure which major projects you are referring to in OP.

Ethereum, Cardano, Chainlink, Cosmos etc have all been racking up impressive developments in the last year too. In fact, a couple of these are on the verge of a massive network update.

Still, Nano is definitely a great project and it's good to see it's still going on. Would be better if focused on building protocols for mass adoption rather than some of these weak use cases though.
1933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Physical Casinos Decoded : on: June 17, 2020, 03:07:39 PM
So I was going through YouTube and got suggested a video , I decided to watch it and thought I would share it with you guys. This video actually showed me why online ones are better.

•Casinos Have 1000's of security Cameras , they are looking at your every move , if they suspect any foul play you will be detained right at the moment.

I doubt many casinos are legally allowed to detain you, even if you're caught cheating red handed. Is cheating in a casino even considered theft?

•You can always get free stuff if you keep playing and give them their money .

I've never been given free stuff to continue playing at a casino. Then again I only play on the roulette tables and the rake isn't that high.

•If One Wins a lot , casinos makes sure that the person doesn't come back though

How? It would be extremely bad business to ban a big winner. Big winners are an outlier and most casinos know this. Big winners are the best thing to attract more customers.

• A happy person serves as a marketing strategy , he might come back and he might even tell others , therefore there are people who are gonna win and casinos won't hate it for sure .

You just contradicted your earlier statement here.

•Dollar Slots have a higher return rate than penny slots , therefore if you want to try it out , you should always go for a dollar slot.

Slots rarely have a good return in general, best to stick with CRAPs and other table games.

•The reason there are no clocks and windows at casinos are because they don't want to let the users leave !Plus they often give free drinks to make your judgement bad and lavender of ofc Making you drowsy .

It's illegal for drunk people to gamble in most places. Any casino caught intoxicating its customers would be shut down quick and earn a bad rep.
1934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [LIST] PVP Games Casino You Can Try on: June 16, 2020, 09:22:58 PM
This thread was definitely needed, people have been on the hunt for PvP games—particularly those with a significant skill element for quite some time now.

Haven't heard of many of these on the list, but I'll definitely be giving a few a try. The racing game from IOI looks interesting, though I'm not yet sure if it's 100% random or if there's any skill to it.

Are you planning to continue building this list?
1935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Snipie's gambling investment test on: June 15, 2020, 01:16:59 AM

Average trader annual return is ~3-5% (some has 20% some -100%)

You got a source for this estimate? I highly doubt most professional traders only make 3-5% per year, unless you're also averaging in all the retail trader noobs that dive into the market and throw their money down the drain?

You can get far more than 3-5% a year with a huge number of passive income streams, so I doubt any self-respecting trader is going to settle for 5% a year with their active effort.

They would need to be trading with a starting balance of $1 million just to make $50k a year.... seems likely.
1936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinbase Called Out on Twitter for Working with IRS and DEA on: June 15, 2020, 01:05:45 AM
It's true, but it's no different to any other platform that's licensed in the United States as a money transmitter.

That's why you should only store cryptocurrencies on reputable platforms that are hosted in countries that can't be touched by the IRS or FCA.

There's plenty of countries like this, e.g. Bermuda, Panama, Swizerland, Malta etc.

I personally keep all my money on a hardware wallet, but when I trade, I make sure to stay well away from platforms that serve US users.
1937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ POLL ]: Boxing - Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev on: June 12, 2020, 10:04:15 PM
So, it will take us one year to wait to see who is the truly champion. Although for most of you, the results are already there, the eagerness, which to wait for what will happen in their match, is indisputable. The damn plague has made things worse. We could have seen results this year, but no, it's slow everythings down  Roll Eyes (and even football matches)

At least a year. Both Fury and Joshua will almost certainly have rematch clauses if they lose as well, so that could add on another year. Not sure Joshua will lose and Fury is unlikely to, but you never know. Nobody expected Joshua to lose to Ruiz and look what happened so itt's not unthinkable that one of them will lose. I don't think Fury will win as easily as people expect though. The first fight was very close and Fury practically came back from the dead at one point so don't underestimate Wilder.

21 votes in the poll so far

18 vote for Joshua
3 votes for Pulev

It looks like this fight might not even go ahead now. A two fight deal between Fury-Joshua has been brokered according to their promoter:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/boxing/52997084

It's a mandatory fight. Unless Joshua wants to vacate his belts to fight Fury, but I doubt Fury would want to fight a beltless Joshua.

I think he means the Wilder Fury 3 fight might not go ahead.

Apparently Wilder injured his bicep throwing all those haymakers he missed in their second bout. He just had surgery on it and now thinks he can get in there with the champ and win?!

Insane.

Wilder got exposed and is basically finished now, if he gets in the way of the undisputed fight people will just hate him for it. Especially if he gets smoked even worse this time.
1938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bankera..3 years after ICO...a money grab ICO??? on: June 12, 2020, 09:51:09 PM
An ICO from 2017 made over $100 million and didn't deliver anything?! Good God! /s

This is the norm unfortunately. If you look at all the ICO projects that were launched in 2017 and you see how many of them have actually grown to become a functional business now, you'll find that it's close to 10%. The rest of them either blew through the money, ran off with it, or are currently busy pissing it away and there isn't a damn thing you can do about it.

ICOs were the get rich quick scheme of 2017, and you were on the wrong side of the table.
1939  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto.Games ⭐ 0.8% House Edge on Dice ⭐ Largest wagering contest...ever ⭐ on: June 12, 2020, 08:29:25 PM
The high roller board is looking stacked today: 100% wins and zero losses when I last checked;

Keep up the good work guys!
1940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Snipie's gambling investment test on: June 12, 2020, 05:44:56 PM
FYI Lutpin used to maintain a similar thread back when Crypto.Games accepted bankroll deposits;

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1796062.105

You might want to use his design for the thread.

Would be nice to compare different bankrolls to see how they stack up in terms of returns.
