1921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I still believe I am on the right path on: March 27, 2023, 02:25:42 PM
Your inner voice of selling at a loss will calm down once you experience more with the bitcoin price swings, then only you will realize with your own eyes that the long term value of bitcoin is huge and that buying at a low will always be profitable.

Try to read more about how bitcoin works and how its market performance has been since a few years. I have been watching since 2016 when price was ~700USD only and look at today's price as comparison to that.

Do sell at the high and then buy back at the low. That should put in some positive energy back in you and it is the way to multiply your total capital.
1922  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What your opinion? on: March 27, 2023, 02:16:48 PM
I really was having this question in mind to ask if it will advisable for somebody who want to start up trying doing online investment and chooses trade as perfect for him or her. What will be your advice for such person as a beginner into online Invertement. I want to hear your opinions if it right or wrong despite it risk,so what your opinion or advise .
Investments are done with the objective of making money in the long run against a risk. Trading is one such method, but it requires skills and sometimes luck. Investing in a bank which can be done physically or online, is a more safer but less rewarding procedure. Your goal should be to determine how much risk you can handle, if you want to play it safe, you should keep yourself limited to fixed deposits, bonds and real estate.

If you are willing to take higher risk, you can go with trading. I am sure you can enlighten yourself about your options from the internet. But keep in mind that money does not come for free, it requires patience and a bit of luck. Someone claiming to make thousands without doing anything is obviously only showing off, not legit.
1923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Circulating supply matters to you? on: March 27, 2023, 02:11:51 PM
What is the fair percentage of a total max supply that are in circulation that can make you invest in a project? It is fine to avoid a project that has low circulating supply? Why? What about if the project is a brand new project and the use case is killing it?
More the supply, less is the trust that it gets from userbase. Take bitcoin for an example, with a limited supply, it is going to get scarce over time and thus its demand rises automatically, you dont need to pump the price or make some manipulation everyday to raise its price.

In general with a large supply you never know which investor might actually drop their bag and run causing the market price to crash. With advisors knowing that these projects will never do well in the long run, often resort to such practices, the investors who might be genuinely interested in it, also lose their cool and get frustrated.
1924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: my small investment on: March 27, 2023, 02:05:50 PM
I suppose I might say that's a decent beginning. Please keep in mind that not all Bitcoin investments result in profits; some losses, perhaps even sizable ones, can happen because the cryptocurrency market is unstable. Just keep buying Bitcoin if you have additional cash, and only then should you hold onto it for a long time.
Market is stable over long time periods. The yearly swing is less than 15% but on short time periods it might seen to be more volatile. Like now the price is back to 27k which is a correction happening after the bullish swing. These ups and downs are how the market keeps itself active and it is upto you how you want to capitalize on it. You might want to play it safe and wait for the price to go back to 25k before buying again or you can buy a smaller fraction now and wait for more drops when you can buy again or sell  if the price rises.

It is tough to execute, I agree but traders need to get the hang of it over time. Again not everyone will manage to profit from this.
1925  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will you advice a new trader to join a trading community or group? on: March 25, 2023, 04:40:59 PM
As a trader, things can get difficult and discouraging if you cannot relate with any other person who will have a good understanding of what you are saying concerning trading, to solve that challenge, are you part of any trading community or group that you share tips and new strategies?
No. Strategies will never change from the old buy low sell high game. In Spot at least, that is the most effective. Rest of the modes of trading are all gambling, not trading. This is not a college study group where reading more gives you more knowledge or sharing notes.

Quote
What other ways can you say you have benefited from being in a community asides sharing of tips and strategies. Are you doing better than when you did things on your own. Can there be any major disadvantage being a member of such a trading groups? What is your advice to people?
Disadvantage indeed. You will have the habit of checking that group everyday and pondering over it. Instead of wasting your time on that you should focus on family and friends to keep your mind fresh after trading.

100% of the content in these groups is bullshit and useless, so focus on your one man army of traders and also give time to things that you love to wind down.
1926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What other ways are available for purchasing Bitcoin? on: March 25, 2023, 04:31:11 PM
I agree with you that bitcoin without a bank is very difficult and there is a fear of being robbed. But is the bank absolutely safe? Can't I keep my money safe in Bitcoin?
You can, if you country's legal system allows bitcoin to be transacted without any restrictions. Most countries have been working around it to avoid facing this statement altogether but few are making CBDC's too. At some point you have to keep liquid cash at hand and in banks, the transactions systems are not that developed to include bitcoin as of now.

Doing face to face deals is risky and should be done in a public place with your own people around you in case the deal goes south.

Quote
Of course I can do all these things in a bitcoin wallet. I can use bitcoin wallet to store my money. Where I can add high security so that my money is not lost. I mean even in Bitcoin you can keep your money safe. If you can add all security.
Essentially yes, if you know how to handle your wallet and its nuances.
1927  Economy / Economics / Re: Money hardly come this days! Why? on: March 24, 2023, 11:12:45 AM
Sorry to hear of the OP's situation. Fees have increased in many schools but the only way to solve the problem is to avoid going to school or earn more to afford that new fee. Hence it boils down what salary OP gets essentially what job they are in.

Now not every job is pandemic resistant and people have been facing hardships during these years and will continue the next few years. While side jobs and all can be approached the main thing is to pull through the hard times. We can't create money out of thin air but we can reduce unwanted spending and limit our spending.

Let's hope the situation gets better in future but inflation will not go away easily so we have to keep fighting through it.
1928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you Think might aid the global adoption of Bitcoin? on: March 24, 2023, 11:05:30 AM
Increased awareness and education, improved user experience, increased merchant acceptance, regulatory clarity, and network scalability are all important factors in promoting global Bitcoin adoption. Increasing Bitcoin adoption will necessitate a combination of technological, educational, and regulatory advancements, as well as efforts to make Bitcoin more accessible, user-friendly, and legitimate.
All those are big terms my friend. But in reality what we need to start off is a good userbase using Bitcoin regularly. That will bring the impetus to stores accepting crypto and gradually merchants will be forced to accept it as a method of online payment. There are people who are using gift cards to keep up the flow of money but these things need more streamlining.

We are never going to see these changes over night. But we must attempt to make out near ones educated about Bitcoin.
1929  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Experience on Bitcoin on: March 24, 2023, 11:01:44 AM
I don't think this depegging will affect the Bitcoin that much. We have seen a good rise to the 21K price point today from 19.7k which was yesterday. And It is quite possible for Bitcoin to reach below 20k again or go much low, but it will be just a new beginning for the next bull run. Anything could happen at any time. So it is wise to be prepared for any situation. Keep some and buy some. That will do it nicely.
The depegging really did not affect the prices as we had predicted. In fact the price went up and are having a bullish turn from then on. We don't know why this happened but we are not complaining about it.

People are probably waiting to buy or selling to cover losses. At this point new users should wait it out. My experience is that changes in direction should be anticipated and preparations made for the same.
1930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which of your friends and relatives deals with bitcoin? on: March 23, 2023, 06:05:50 AM
Back in 2015, some friends I knew got into bitcoin without my advice and they got washed out by HYIPs and MLM scams. They moved away from bitcoin and only during the recent pumps in price did they come back to check on it.

I try to make people aware about Bitcoin and how it works, how it is easy to send to someone without restrictions. But there is a lot of first hand resistance because it is covered with a lot of negative news and these will take time to clear.

Becoming a topic of discussion at the dinner table is an achievement for crypto.  Roll Eyes
1931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 06:00:47 AM
Games that are having an EV negative will always have a long term loss profil, because of the house edge and because players never stop after a net win/profit.

If you think a casino is cheating you, verify its provably fair algorithm yourself. If you are confused how to do this, do some searching on YouTube.

In either case, the reputed long time running casios would not cheat you because have many forum users here who are well accustomed with this system and actively seek out casinos and their algos for bugs and possibl exploits.
1932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 23, 2023, 05:56:09 AM
in any investment we must be prepared to accept losses, regardless of how big or small we invest, all of us will experience risks, and also the benefits that will be obtained if we invest, can be seen in the amount of how much investment we invest
Keeping a mindset to accept losses is what is asked by this statement. If loss acceptance is not possible then they should not invest. The ability to predict on spot markets improve with time and experience so how much to invest will vary as experience increases. Even then there should be a limit to how much one does put at stake.

Gambling with the money should be strictly avoided. The stuff like margin and leverage, futures are all different types of gambling. That is where people lose money the most.
1933  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Dilemma between focusing on B@bitcointalk and my current paid employment on: March 22, 2023, 02:51:15 PM
With only 11 activities and one merit since I joined bitcointalk in January, 2023, I am currently faced with the dilemma on focusing on bitcointalk in other to learn/earn, but my current job is so exhausting that it takes virtually all my time.
Be active more often, if you have a smartphone or a tablet at work, you can log in and post once a few hours and thus be active throughout the day. But you have to keep the effort from your side.

Quote
Bitcointalk is the in-thing, but it requires time and efforts to grow and my Job do not give me enough time. My Job is more like 24hrs Job were I can be called to duty when I am resting/sleeping.
If your job is a demanding one, it should be given more focus, but I am sure that you job would have to deal with problems in real life which need solving rather than the forum where no one would be hurt even if you become inactive.

Quote
Do I quit my Job for Bitcointalk? (This is running through my mind)

My Job pays less that $300 a Month.

I am in a serious dilemma.
The forum will be here for a while but there is no guarantee that campaigns will be on forever. But you job is there for now which is giving a daily income. With a little effort form your side you should be able to manage both without distress.

Quote
I need some motivating advice on what to do.
You need to motivate yourself, no one will come and babysit you. Analyze your work pattern and see when you can take time out to post in the forum. Be active on the forum and you will grow your rank gradually.
1934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 22, 2023, 02:43:31 PM
There is not binding for how much one can afford to lose.

For money that is obtained by blood and sweat, the earner knows the importance of not wasting it and this is why when we were kids, our parents taught us about money and savings and not the other way round.

For money that is earned by theft and deception, the attachment to that is low and the earner would most likely be wasteful about it.

The second option will always have more money that they can afford to lose compared to the first one. But the main idea is not to spend amounts that if you lose you would regret or fall in trouble.
1935  Economy / Economics / Re: Could Bitcoin one day become the global reserve currency? on: March 22, 2023, 02:39:29 PM
Of course you can, the world needs a financial system that is strong and resistant to inflation, if you use 1 or 2 currencies it will certainly make it unfair, but if you use bitcoin it will be fairer and acceptable globally, moreover the bitcoin community continues to increase and according to reports it has reached more than 100 million active users.
Point is whether the big institutions find it useful or not. These decisions are not made by an internet forum member group rather they are done in an international forum where people from different countries come together and put forward their opinions and suggestions. In such a space, bitcoin has a clear disadvantage and a lot of groundwork is needed before this stage in order to put bitcoin at an advantage.

What we should do is keep hope and gather more people into the use of crypto in daily lives. Gradually the local governance will take notice and from there we can grow to a bigger forum.
1936  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The best time to buy bitcoin. on: March 21, 2023, 03:10:25 PM
I guess Bitcoin has already hit its floor, which means we might see a stable price from here onwards. Honestly, I believe that $20k is still a fair price to buy. It's a very cheap price compared to its all-time high. Based on the price trends, when a bull market comes, a new all-time high (ATH) is created. So, if the price is currently at $20k, it might likely increase to at least 5 times that amount, which means a good profit opportunity.
It is crossing 28k USD soon and hence if you bought at 20k bottom you did a good job, if you did not, then better luck next time. Tongue

Like I always say, there is not best time for buying, but whatever is going down should be bought at intervals and not just watched to fall. These chances are few and should be seized without fail.

All time high is far from here, so one should continue to accumulate and keep selling out of the question. When the prices reach highs again we can think of selling, unless you are in some emergency.
1937  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Bitcoin always affected on: March 21, 2023, 03:06:59 PM
I apologize if this is a dumb question but the fact is that I don't know why.

My question is, why is Bitcoin market always affected by all economics news, example is the issues with US bank like the SVB. Thank you
There is no concrete answer to this, we can only guess.

Bitcoin buyers/sellers are also investing in different sectors like stocks/commodities and they usually keep up with the news that breaks the internet. Hence an association of crypto with SVB and Silvergate made them think that crypto markets would drop after that news, I believe it was the reason for the dump, but you cannot confirm nor deny this because the proof will never be found. But this is usually how the market reacts to a news.

What was not expected is the rise in bitcoin price after this dump.

In general, you should not be bothered by news, your goal is to accumulate bitcoin at every dump, treat them as just some numbers, keep the emotions out.
1938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New projects come out when bull market begin. on: March 21, 2023, 03:01:48 PM
Hello i just want to ask if i you guys also notice when the bitcoin rise there are also a lot of new projects come out and if bitcoin fall there are only few projects build, is it because some projects developer notice that most of the successful projects are build in bull market and most of the projects build on bear market are failed? Or they don't care about bull and bear market and they build thier project because the time is already been set?
Nah you are right, most of the new "shady" projects come out when the market is bullish, this is because they want to capitalize the sentiment that crypto is a flourishing sector and draw the attention on social media about crypto towards their project.

It is like investing when the market is performing well. For a veteran trader, we all know that this is tactically wrong, you dont buy in the bull market, rather you sell. While people are losing, that is the time to buy. For a newbie, they lack the experience that teaches us this, so they enter during the bull usually by catching the social media buzz.

Some projects even claim that bear market lead tot their collapse - I call that bullshit because a project that actually develops something worthy will survive every bear/bull cycle.
1939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happens when new altcoins encourage religious, political and other agendas? on: March 20, 2023, 03:58:26 PM
We are in such a mess crazy world today, where anything can be encouraged, either good or bad, people don't think deeply anymore, many people have their inner delusions and when someone works toward it, their dream they rise up to support asap, most things that are happening today is all started by religions, I serve the master of this universe but I never get to a position where I let my someone else thoughts affects mine.
You do have to keep an open mindset though, that is what bitcoin has been an symbol for. To remove oppression and to stand on your own.

It is true that many religions have financial codes but these are made by humans and no being came from the sky and wrote them down on a block of cement. So feel free to enter any altcoin that you feel is worth investing in, but do this with diligence and not because they are promoting a certain propaganda. Consider your profit/loss and only then should you invest.

Or just be safe and invest in bitcoin, why bother shitcoins anyway? Roll Eyes
1940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is the last chance to exchange stablecoins for Bitcoin on: March 20, 2023, 03:47:12 PM
I don't it is the last chance to exchange. Stable coins are not gonna disappear
They obviously will not disappear because someone else is going to take their place and then the whole fiasco gets forgotten, because the public memory is low and slow, but this forum and its members do remember.

Again most people dont care, they will keep stablecoins like any other coin and just flow through this in a couple of months or so. The real problem with stablecoins will however be understood by those who are diligent enough.

Still then I hope people concentrate more on bitcoin and buying it when it is low and not speculating the future of stablecoins, because someone will take over.
