1941  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NOTHING IS ABOVE BITCOIN on: November 27, 2019, 06:31:34 AM
This is exactly why stablecoins like USDT, TUSD, DAI, Libra, etc. won't gain much popularity. Cryptocurrencies and the blockchain technology were created with a scope - that we get rid of all the centralization and excessive control of authorities over the world. Corruption is at all time high level and transparency is nowhere near where we would like it to be. By adopting Bitcoin and blockchain & adiacent tech like smart contracts I'm sure we will make a much efficient & fair world.

Stablecoins actually gained popularity. Why? Simply because having stablecoins eliminates the risks of volatility through assets like bitcoin. Along with that, not everyone(or probably even majority) don't even care about decentralization and security in the first place! This is the exact reason why for some reason people still "invest" in other cryptocurrencies like XRP, and other worse shitcoins.
I am not sure if Tether and TUSD with their unsubstantiated claims of "fiat backing" can be considered stablecoin. Though something like MAKR DAI does seem like a stablecoin because of the locked cryptocurrency that backs them.

Also, the popularity of these seems more likely a result of low bank interest rates as well as the negative interest rates that the banks have enforced in developed countries. Anybody would be better off earning interest from staked collateral as an alternative investment. This is not so applicable to the retail investors in developing countries because the interest rates at similar instruments hasn't reached similar abysmal levels yet.
1942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real problem in bitcoin (economic facts included) on: November 27, 2019, 05:19:48 AM

You know if this "problem" learned how to stop buying and just traded like normal people and didn't also most likely try to post fake articles and influence or pay people to act like bitcoin is always going to go up that we wouldn't have this sort of problem?

We have a control freak on our hands and something needs to be done.  Lawsuit anyone?  I can't believe I have to try and start fixing this almost entirely on my own and I'm only 30 years old.  Do I have to save the world by myself?

There's something wrong folks and I'm just ashamed not many people have spoken up about this.  The market is better without this violent rage sort of buying mumbo and I know theres a few people here who remember what it was like when "something" out there didn't just try to fight every red candle they see.
Good try at becoming a meme but i think he isn't just blaming Binance or Alt-coins like everybody else is pointing out. I highlighted the important parts, especially the last line.

I think he is talking about how price has become everything. Those early adopters who became twitter influencers are constantly trying to defend the drops by parroting the same old "Its gud for bitcoin" quotes. Then there is the honeybadger memes on r/bitcoin. Everything is about fucking price and nobody talks about the developers or the new use-cases for bitcoin showing that it can be more. Or even the enterprising streak that the early adopters professed about the new economy.
There has to be something more to the technology than just price.. Embarrassed
1943  Economy / Economics / Re: The US & China Trade War is Nothing, Worry About Business and Bank Failures on: November 27, 2019, 05:11:31 AM
--snip--
America is a strong and solid country and its macroeconomic foundation is strong even though the penetration of imported products in America is also high.
The macroeconomic parameters of USA at present are anything but strong with it 22 Trillion USD Govt debt out of which 4.1 Trillion is owed to foreign Govts (1.11 Trillion to China). The unemployment rates are high and the Govt Debt will soon come calling as more and more people retire from the workforce.

the increase or decrease in interest rates is natural and easily overcome by the United States, not just interest rates as a reference point, there are still many variables that are able to influence economic growth, both domestically and externally.
Right. The "many variables" you talk about is basically the geopolitical clout that USA has which means it can more or less have its own way in agreements and world policies, no matter what it does for climate or for instability in other countries. For example, Trump pulled out of the Paris deal without anyone batting an eye.
The only thing that stand for the USA and they continue to leach off the world is because of their national consumption and USD still being the reserve currency, they can keep printing more of it.
China on the other hand is much more methodical with increasing its own clout in Asia and pushing its currency for the de-facto currency of the world. USA under trump is basically like a drunken brawler with heavy arms while China is the stealth assassin with the right weapons. Its lights out for the assassin IF a few punches land but there is an equal chance that the brawler won't see the knife to the jugular.
1944  Economy / Economics / Re: The US & China Trade War is Nothing, Worry About Business and Bank Failures on: November 26, 2019, 10:43:43 AM
--snip--
That’s what happened in 2008-9, shortly after the Federal Reserve raise interest rates and the US economy slid into a recession. US Business failures soared to 6,000 per quarter, while bank failures reached 157.
I had no idea that there is a parameter that measures number of business failures. Is that like a real macroeconomic parameter? The entrepreneurial streak in capitalist USA makes everyone run after a "successful business". Everyone wants their own gig/ side-hustle to succeed.
This pursuit of financial independence has been so explicitly linked with the pursuit of happiness in that culture that "growth" has become a liability for every individual and community.

The formula of getting a stable job, paying your taxes, raising a family has been overtaken by the need to be successful as well as grow. Who does it benefit at the end? Does it benefit the general populace or those big industries and the state in whose best favor it is to have a hardworking workforce? Depending on an individual's inclination, some people are naturally good at this cut-throat, on-your-feet competition. Then there are those who just don't get it and fall for the mind numbing effects of drugs, sedatives etc.

This constant pursuit of growth irrespective of needs has brought about a lot of winners and relegated a whole bigger lot of losers. I think Gandhi had a point when he said "The world has enough for everyone's needs, not everyone's greed".
1945  Other / Meta / Re: [BCT FACT] Bitcointalk was originally on Bitcoin.org but ... drama on: November 26, 2019, 04:15:44 AM
--snip--

Unfortunately all the public logs are offline now and it's not entirely clear to me why. I've found it particularly concerning because the loss of these logs is extraordinarily helpful for people who are dishonestly trying to rewrite the political history of Bitcoin. (e.g. they claim stuff like I only started participating in Bitcoin in 2014 or 2015 or that everyone always agreed that the blocksize limit was temporary and would be completely eliminated-- stuff that the discussion shows isn't just wrong, but is an absurd opposite of the truth).

I've been working on unifying logs from a number of people to recover a complete set (any given person has holes in their logs because of periods where they were offline...).

The rewriting is going on full swing and you are a favorite target for the gang when it comes to the whole Old devs VS Core devs drama. Nobody has the time and the willingness to go through the actual history. What is especially disappointing in this regard is that r/bitcoin has become a wall of memes and stupid arguments.
Any newcomer would find r/btc to be much more "informative". It doesn't matter if their narrative is wrong. These public logs that you mention can be a treasure trove to solidify the truths of the matter. We should be doing this in mission mode. I am sure a lot of us would be interested in helping you out.

1946  Other / Politics & Society / Re: PURE CRONYISM: .ORG Registry value pillaged by ICANN ex-CEO on: November 26, 2019, 04:01:38 AM
So an Ex-CEO who almost definitely knew that this Cap-lifting was coming registers a company which then goes on to buyout the right s to .org registry.
Doesn't that make it confidential information and conflict of interest? Isn't there supposed to be a law for board members to not utilize their position for personal gains? In most Govt departments I have seen, you are not allowed to bid for a contract if you are directly related to any officer over-seeing the purchase.
1947  Other / Politics & Society / Re: why are are allowed to criticize everything except jews or truth on: November 26, 2019, 03:52:41 AM
When you criticize truth about jews ,

1) you get censored.

2) you get banned.

3) you get murdered if your rich and making a big enough influence.

Source : Www.thegreateststorynevertold.tv
What is this "Truth about Jews"?? The truth about them as a community isn't any worse than that of other Abrahamic religions. If you consider plain wrongdoing and persecution, the Jews are nowhere near the Christians or Muslims in this regard.

Yet somehow, the conspiracy theories are reserved for them. This I think is due to two reasons:
1. Basically just jealousy
2. A general antipathy towards the very interdependent and family life that the Jews represent. LOL, Westerners loves hedonism and materialism. The steadfastness of Jews goes against this but they still manage to be the smartest, wealthiest MFs around including Rothschilds, Goldmans, Lehmans etc etc. All of this anti-semitism is basically the result of this jealousy.

The average westerner resents that how can the Jew be so steadfast about his beliefs and yet surpass everyone in terms of sheer achievement. The western method of individuality and materialism has given the world a lot of positive things too but when it comes to a peaceful and spiritual way of life, Jews as a community have balanced it with success (enormous success) much better.

The western culture on the other hand has come to be defined by basenss, vanity, over-sexualization and its only natural for the average westerner to feel a sense of loss over this.
1948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Cypherpunks and Bitcoin. The years before bitcointalk. on: November 23, 2019, 12:39:59 PM
Having seen this gem of a thread bumped in a while so giving it a little bump. Also, @xtralv - Have you paid for advertising this thread through bitcointalk adds or theymos is doing it himself? Noticed it a couple of times on the banner section today.

Also, this book by Julian Assange is a good read:https://www.amazon.com/Cypherpunks-Freedom-Internet-Julian-Assange/dp/1944869085

Theymos started a thread where anybody could share a caption and the most iconic posts in the last 10 years. I think he has randomed the ads section to contain one of those captioned posts.
Here is the link to all of those captioned posts:

1949  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tesla sources cobalt from Democratic Republic of Congo on: November 23, 2019, 12:33:45 PM
It's the sad truth of any new tech that has to use certain minerals. They're most likely coming from places with horrible working conditions, child labor, people are dying while mining these things, and so on and so forth.

Though Tesla is trying to find a way to not have to rely on precious metals such as Cobalt -- see here (https://www.theverge.com/2018/6/21/17488626/elon-musk-cobalt-electric-vehicle-battery-science) as I think he's the one thats single handidly draining the supply of Cobalt. So, that probably isn't too cheap.
It's not the sad truth about any new technology, they're just after profits so they go after the cheapest raw materials. Sourcing from ethical mines is perfectly possible. Tesla isn't the only company that doesn't check on its supply chain, but they sure could do better than use Congolese mines.
Most new technology that comes to mass-manufacturing stage starts in the developed west. When it comes to rare earth elements, it is nothing new that people in developing countries get exploited. If its not rare earth elements then it is working condition of cheap labor in countries like India, Bangladesh.

There have been times when companies have taken positive steps to prevent such things but taking the moral responsibility for the whole supply chain isn't something that can be asked of them. This applies well to countries that have a stable, functioning Govt. For example, Walmart blacklisted one of the suppliers in Bangaldesh after that factory collapse of 2013.

Yet, in countries like Congo, that have actively suffered due to developed country interests (Patrice Lumuba, the post-independence leader of Congo went to US, Canada and UN for help but didn't get any as Belgium convinced them that he was a "communist"), I think people like Elon Musk can take responsibility to ensure that the business they are giving to Congo remains exploitation free and bring the fruits of labor to whatever populace works there. This needs some social media activism from the Africans, if they can agree to rally together.
1950  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tesla sources cobalt from Democratic Republic of Congo on: November 23, 2019, 10:25:38 AM
I feel sorry for DR Congo, that  area has been heavily exploited in past as well, and unfortunately history tends to repeat itself.  Belgium King Leopold II owned that whole country, and used it as private property from 1885 to 1908, and during that period millions lost their lives during brutal exploitation. Here is the link if someone wants to read more about that somewhat forgotten part of the history.
The history of the loot of Congo and the events that lead to assasiantion of Patrice Lumumba is one of the saddest parts of Modern History. Imagine what Africans could have done with a leader like him at the helm who advocated Pan-African unity in the 50s and 60s.

It is also somehow impossible to understand the  deep hatred that Africans reserve for Africans. Starting from the genocide in Rwanda to the current civil war in South Sudan, almost all the time these people are killing, raping and maiming their own fellows. They have had the concept of a common outsider enemy for almost all their modern history, yet instead of uniting, they have almost always been fighting against each other and letting themselves be manipulated by Western interests.
1951  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Execution method for treason. on: November 23, 2019, 09:28:49 AM
I followed the Trump Saga interestingly and chuckling along at the clever takes from people like Stephen Colbert etc. Yet, Didn't it all turn out a dud after that less-than-enthusiastic Robert mueller hearing? Mueller wasn't really the forceful, tight-lipped, straight forward tough guy that the democrats and left-media had tried to portray him as. Everyone was hoping, me included, that he would come up with some clear cut evidence of "collusion" and be the end of this misogynistic, foul-mouthed man who says stuff like "Grab'em by the pussy" on camera... Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy I mean the righteous fury to have him put into his place was real.

Instead, Mueller sounded confused and unaware at times. I recall that one senator/ congressman even grilled him over there being no legal definition of "collusion" and that stuff about him not having the power to "exonerate". That was painful.

That was when i realized that this drama is not about Trump but about the left-liberals losing their monopoly over righteousness and all that is good. Trump is a despicable (hillary-term) human with a foul mouth. Yet it is not hard to see that the left-leaning media has its own way of brainwashing people into accepting stupid policies. The left media is conveniently served by the coolest kids in the block with their Stand-up comedies and Yale credentials. In reality, they aren't any better and in fact may be worse for a country in uncertain times. At such times, the man who speaks the harsh truth becomes everyone's favorite punching bag. Don't know if Trump is brave or just quixotic, but he has indeed been brave enough to become that punching bag.
1952  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All of you Bitcoin Hodlers are mentally ill - *Must Read! on: November 23, 2019, 08:57:13 AM
This entire bitcoin space breeds greed, envy, fear, and lust. All you of hodling bitcoin are mentally ill.

Dude, Its not bitcoin's fault if you choose to hang out with the wrong crowd. There definitely is a lot of greed, being so that money is involved. I  am trying to figure out where envy, fear and lust came in. Maybe you are talking about those Roger Ver and Craig Wright Alts that like to call themselves "The real bitcoin". My sympathies if you fell victim to their manipulations.

When it comes to BTC, it is just a software that started running on humble 2009-10 PCs over the internet. This network then gave birth to a whole industry of GPU-mining, ASIC-mining and peer-to-peer trading. It has opened people's eyes to the fact that Govt. control over your finances should not be taken as unquestionable, especially when they can dilute and eat away at your hard earned savings with the smallest of legislations. That is the Bitcoin that I know.

1. Do your own research.
2. Don't invest more than you can afford to lose.
3. Don't believe people trying to sell you dreams.
4. Lighten up

Bitcoin millionaires already sold and cashed out. They bought into the Ponzi scheme early and you bag holders now allow them to cash out. They are the winners and you current bitcoin HODL'ers are the losers.
This is a natural concern for people who bought into bitcoin as a Get rich quick scheme. People heard from a friend about a friend who bought them and sold during the 20K ATH. Then they decided to invest into it with a zeal that should only be reserved for things you understand.
The fault lays with those super enthusiastic posts about moon and lambos on twitter and Reddit There was a lot of manipulation too. There are lot of people who will advice you to buy but the best way is to get involved, Stack Sats and only invest the surplus. Use it if you understand it and it benefits you.
The early adopters who held on during wild swings only have themselves to give credit to if their patience paid off. That is true for any investment. Irrational hatred towards them is no use. I do wish though that these so called "millionaires" did more to promote actual economic activity than building their own fiefdoms.
1953  Other / Meta / Re: [BCT FACT] Bitcointalk was originally on Bitcoin.org but ... drama on: November 23, 2019, 06:20:29 AM
That was Fun.. Love the vibe..Here is the Sequence of Events if you want a shorter version. I highlighted some of the moments i found interesting:

1. Maxwell expressing concern over trolls in old forum
Quote
2011-06-12 04:23:31 <theymos>   The forum is more than just Bitcoin development. It is (supposed to be) a good, low-moderation forum for discussion of many topics. Moderation needs to be increased when there is a ton of trolls, however.
2011-06-12 04:23:44 <gmaxwell>   What jgarzik said. I'm embarassed to tell friends about bitcoin for fear that they'll load the forums and find a wall of dickhead blabbering on about black helicopters and prediction markets for killing babies or whatever.

2. Cocern over Devs facing legal uncertainty (Guilt by association)
Quote
2011-06-14 18:06:32 <jrmithdobbs>   topi`: all the actual work on bitcoin and related software is verifiably being done in places where they are illegal
2011-06-14 18:06:53 <jrmithdobbs>   topi`: you realise that anti-bitcoin legislation would make jgarzik and gavin criminals defacto, right?
2011-06-14 18:06:59 <jrmithdobbs>   topi`: you understand why this is bad, right?
2011-06-14 18:07:11 <TD>   sadly a lot of people jumping on the bitcoin bandwagon, apparently don't understand that
2011-06-14 18:07:32 <jrmithdobbs>   topi`: if the lead devs can no longer contribute because of legal hassles it will come tumbling down
2011-06-14 18:08:02 <jeremias>   isn't bitcoin software pretty stable currently
2011-06-14 18:08:09 <TD>   it needs constant work to keep up with the network scaling
2011-06-14 18:08:18 <TD>   not having devs is not an option. the system is already creaking under the load

3. Jeff asks Theymos about new domain
Quote
2011-06-15 03:29:06 <jgarzik>   theymos: what's the status on moving the forums to another domain?
2011-06-15 03:29:42 <theymos>   I don't like the idea, so I'm not going to do it. Sirius can do it if he wants.
2011-06-15 03:31:59 <jgarzik>   rather unilateral, for a decentralized project

4. Jeff and Theymos argue whats official
Quote
2011-06-15 03:38:29 <jgarzik>   theymos: anything on bitcoin.org is clearly official
2011-06-15 03:38:49 <theymos>   Let's change that perception.
2011-06-15 03:39:03 <genewitch>   jgarzik: you want the "good" forums on forum.bitcoin.org and the current forums on a different domain?
2011-06-15 03:39:10 <jgarzik>   theymos: show me _one_ other person who actually thinks that is possible.  just one.
2011-06-15 03:39:26 <theymos>   I'm sure I could find someone if I asked around.
2011-06-15 03:39:42 <jgarzik>   bitcoin.org was started by satoshi, and it's all over the print media, online media, search engines and ... duh .. it matches the project's name.

5.ROFL @ That was only temporary
Quote
2011-06-15 03:53:09 <theymos>   That's not true at all. I've never removed a moderator. And I'm not the only administrator: Gavin was the one who made me an admin.
2011-06-15 03:53:30 <jgarzik>   theymos: blatant lie.  you removed my mod powers.
2011-06-15 03:53:54 <theymos>   That modship was only temporary. I said it at the time.
2011-06-15 03:53:58 <gjs278>   exactly
2011-06-15 03:53:59 <jgarzik>   uh huh
2011-06-15 03:54:02 <luke-jr>   jgarzik: he did say it was for 24 hours..
2011-06-15 03:54:11 <jgarzik>   luke-jr: it lasted < 60 minutes
2011-06-15 03:54:15 <luke-jr>   O.o

Grin

6. Jeff asks Theymos to move the "illegal activity" posts. Theymos sticks to the policy.
Quote
2011-06-15 03:54:42 <jgarzik>   theymos: will you make me moderator again, and permit me to delete posts encouraging illegal activity?
2011-06-15 03:55:11 <theymos>   No. It is the policy of the forum to allow such discussions. Sirius owns the server, so he can change the policy if he's worried about legal action.

7. Theymos warms up to the idea with his  Centralization vs Decetaralization remark.
Quote
2011-06-15 04:02:16 <theymos>   Centralization is an effective management technique as long as there are many centralized organizations to compete.
2011-06-15 04:03:01 <cacheson>   theymos: right, so splitting the forums off from bitcoin.org furthers that
2011-06-15 04:03:27 <cacheson>   theymos: makes the forums and the development stuff into two visibly separate organizations
2011-06-15 04:03:46 <jgarzik>   indeed
2011-06-15 04:03:58 <cacheson>   that way you can let people talk about what they want to on the forums without the developers getting (as much) flak about it

1954  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forum is 10 years old! on: November 23, 2019, 04:40:55 AM
Happy 10th anniversary to the forum and people who have been here since the beginning. Its fascinating to see people like BitcoinFX, Phinnaeus Gage and of course Theymos who posted in that thread and are still here. (BitcoinFX was user 30). Definitely wonder what the first 500-1000 users are doing today, Maybe @LoyceV could run one of his magic numbers and come up with interesting facts about how many of them are active here.

Well, wherever you guys are, you have been pioneers. Thanks for it all.

--snip--
I'm honored to be your head administrator, but I'm only a tiny part of the forum. The forum is and has been a collaboration between thousands of people, including:
 - Posters, who make the forum a forum
 - Reporters, merit-givers, and scam-fighters, who make the forum (somewhat) sane
 - Moderators and admins of the past & present, who keep things running smoothly
 - Donors, sponsors, and advertisers of the past & present, who fund our operations

Thank you, everyone, for your continuing contributions to this legendary forum! Let's try to somehow make the next 10 years even more interesting than the last.

The next 10 years will be awesome. The concept of a new "Territory of Freedom" is mind-boggling. Here is hoping for a better world with no wars and political machinations that make common people suffer everywhere. Lets make the world Governments realize that the people will not just sit back and watch helplessly as wealthy bankers and Regulators keep hiding their sins in the name of Austerity and Inflation. 1955  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto is changing the personal asset management market on: November 22, 2019, 12:55:38 PM
The personal assets mentioned in the article seem to be the Tokens/ Coins that get listed on exchanges post ICOs or other forms of fund-raising. I don't think that trading of these assets actually comprises "Asset Manangement" yet.
In the traditional sense, when you have a portfolio of stocks being managed by an asset manager, they are investing your money into companies that are part of different economic sectors. Depending on the market and business conditions, they make decisions to manage the portfolio in such a way that you end up with a decent return.

On the other hand, calling the trading of Alts vs BTC or Alts vs USDT as "Asset management" is presumptive. This would not be the case if these Alts actually had a live user base and were being actively used for economic activity. Even the most prominent of the Alt-coins like Ethereum, EOS etc have not yet been able to come any closer to launchiung a proper DAPP econsystem. The app that is advertised at the end of the article basically provides access to data on the rates of Alts and BTC in major exchanges. Such API's have existed for a long time and trading bots have been utilizing them for quite sometime. How so you call this "Asset management"?
1956  Economy / Economics / Re: Can online platforms like Youtube and Facebook really be decentralized? on: November 22, 2019, 10:26:17 AM
You can't make Facebook and YouTube decentralized since it's a large company controlled by their creator. It's already been established and a big company so how come the owner of it would want it fo be decentralized? They're earning a lot already. It's not an easy process. Because people are already satisfied with what it is...
One of the problems with blockchain solutions is that a lot of times they are trying to solve problems that do not exist. Platforms like Facebook and Youtube are not personal repositories for people that you can complain about "privacy".
If you are so concerned, then there simply is no need to announce yourself to the world.

The other concern is about censorship. We can all agree that certain content does need censorship and should be given no space for propagation. Yet, absolutely disgusting stuff easily finds its targets. Censorship related to ideas is something that is worrisome but it is again only a reflection of the way society is evolving. What maybe cool and politically correct today may not remain so tomorrow. Should the masses all  be left in their own silos of "decentralized platforms" where nobody has any control or can moderate what trolls can spew. I don't think so.

Like Pennyworth told Bruce in The Dark Knight, "Some men just want to watch the world burn". They will spew hatred and venom just for the sake of it. Decentralization doesn't work in this case, Centralization does.

1958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to the Ceo of coinbase 1 BTC can actually change your life. on: November 22, 2019, 05:07:52 AM
Brian is just interested to get more money in his pocket, and despite his positive attitude, the idea of "open financial systems" is not something Coinbase can promote as centralized company working under US law.
His articulating openly that he intends to support open finance does mean something, even if it is under the US Law.I don't think mass adoption will come or that cryptocurrency will fulfill its promise without co-opting the existing systems in some way.
Again, using the "More money in his pocket" argument is very Socialist to me. Even Satoshi holds keys to a million BTC, Right?

The problem of you and most others here in the forum (or in general) is that you admiring individuals who do nothing but get rich under the slogan "We are for Bitcoin!. What Brian is saying is that we need to buy more Bitcoins so he and his mates can get more money from fees.
You took it as a personal attack so I accept your reply. Yet, My problem isn't like most others in the forum. I am not an early adopter and  couldn't care less after the intial 2017-18 craze whether BTC or crypto makes me rich or not. This is just one of the many things I'll need to do as an individual if i ever hope to get rich.

One man is nothing, strength is in numbers - at least Satoshi was aware of this, which is why he decided that an individual should never be above the project as a whole.
LOL, Thanks for the quote. Hail the proletariat..
1959  Local / Press & News from India / Re: Binance acquires Wazirx to offer Fiat to Crypto Gateway on: November 21, 2019, 12:08:40 PM
What are your thoughts?

I see nothing big here apart from the fact that Binance suddenly jumped into Indian Market. I think most Indian exchanges will suffer because of this entry.
Woah..Seriously Akh?? Nothing big..This is pretty huge. Binance is influential and very pro-active in terms of breaking into new areas as well as doing all sort of "jugaad" to keep crypto economy going (IEO's, Binance Launchpad etc etc.)

First of all, i think it is a validation for WazirX and their CEO Nischal who have been very active on twitter trying to gather enough support from public and politicians. Good for him. Secondly, having a bridge to INR on Binance app should be cool. I don't now how it'll work as i haven't checked it on the app yet. You should also see that Binance is into altcoins in a big way. Most Indians have also had their first taste of crypto through these alts. This means a lot of those Alt-coin hodlers will have easier access to INR through the app.
It lowers a lot of entry barriers. This is good. Thanks for sharing!
1960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: According to the Ceo of coinbase 1 BTC can actually change your life. on: November 21, 2019, 12:00:07 PM
~snip~

This is some 3-month-old news, and people are still surprised what some Brian writes on his twitter about Bitcoin. His opinion is not important at all, nor is it something he invented in his head, different people have been saying this for years, but they are a lot smarter than Brian. If you're wondering why, well Brian tells you this in 2019 when the price of Bitcoin is $8000, others tell the same thing when price of Bitcoin was only several hundred dollars.

It is never too late to go on the mission "I will have 1 BTC", smart people find ways to do it, without compromising their financial stability. But there is no guarantee that owning 1 BTC will really mean anything in 5 or 10 years, it's all a game that can end successfully, but also with a negative outcome.
This is the kind of stuff I hate to read from people who I consider old blood as far as the forum is concerned. Maybe not to the general bitcoin ecosystem but at least to the forum you can be considered a veteran. It's quite preposterous to say that He is just "some Brian"..LOL This is the CEO/ Co-founder of coinbase you are talking about, the largest , most influential cryptocurrency exchange in USA.

So saying something like "His opinion is not important" is pretty stupid. Brian has had a consistent stand towards enabling Open financial systems and for everyone to be able to have access to finance irrespective of their country and screw-ups by their respective Governments. (Say, Zimbabwe, Venezuela). His Vision statement on the blog is pretty genuine if you want to have a look. For any newbies wanting to understand how cryptocurrency can actually affect the world, its a must watch.
