1942  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this Venezuelan Petro Contract?: 0x716E12433FD0261E4fC4AE9f7a1EB30B76539Bbf on: February 21, 2018, 07:06:51 AM
I think we are going to see more Petros in the future.
The genuine Petro is supposed to be distributed by the Central Bank of Venezuela and I think it is not ready yet.
1943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is the future of crypto, bitcoin is not. on: February 21, 2018, 06:58:43 AM
I like finding posts of the past. Some of them are really good even today. Time shows that both coins are good and are probably the most promising of all. These two coins have almost 60% of the market cap.
3 years ago (that you wrote the post) there were less than the half of the coins we have today and many have disappeared in the meantime.
I think they will continue strong in the future too.
1944  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin Cash separated from Litecoin. on: February 21, 2018, 06:29:34 AM
There are already thousands of coins one more will make no difference. Charlie Lee is right about it, but this is the beauty of open source project.
To be possible for anyone to create something better, based on early projects.
I am sceptical too about new or cloned coins because I know that the majority of them is made for money and not to serve any purpose. Time will show if I am wrong, till then I think that we have to give a chance to the new coin and wait for some time.
Usually, this kind of coins is abandoned some months later by their creators.
1945  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet mixers-what are they and are they useful? on: February 20, 2018, 08:16:41 AM
I think that when the coins are mixed, they are all transferred to a central address which has temporary all the coins to be mixed from many other users and then the coins are distributed to the recipients.
By doing this no one knows who was the coin's initial owner. If the initial amount will be split into much more addresses than before, the owner cannot be traced.
But if one owner has more coins that the other owners have then it is logical that all know that the coins return to him,
1946  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH v NEO on: February 20, 2018, 07:52:53 AM
Both are considered to be good coins, not because of the price, but because they can make smart contracts.
The only problem for me is that NEO is centralized and not mineable. That means that you can not create new coins, so the majority of the profit goes to the creators who own the majority of the coins. On the other hand, Ethereum is decentralized and is mineable.
It is ASIC resistant so people do not need expensive gear to mine it but graphics cards which are much cheaper.
1947  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to anonymise the blockchain? on: February 20, 2018, 07:39:31 AM
You are absolutely right, but I suppose that this blockchain number could contain two different kinds of information, one for the client and one hidden for the company.
So the competitors could see just one part of the information, which couldn't be useful to them.
About the fees that you have mentioned, what if the fees were included in the coin price so they were already paid.
Sorry, I am not an expert, but sometimes the brainstorming can bring brilliant ideas.
1948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you afraid of hackers? on: February 19, 2018, 11:57:13 AM
Hackers are a major problem for computers in general and of course  for cryptocurrencies.
But they are also a reason for us to be cautious and increase safety measures when we make transactions. The general rule is that we can not use the same computer for games, for cracked programs and transactions.
It would be better to use a dedicated PC for them, and when is not possible, to make the transactions loading a Linux version in our PC using a live cd.

1950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which crypto news sites do you read ? on: February 18, 2018, 10:50:19 AM
You are in the best site. You can find here all the information you need. Every ICO bounty or airdrop is analyzed here and if not you will find the link of this specific one you want, in order to read it.
Start learning as much as you can, but I suggest you to focus each time on one coin especially in the different kind of wallets and safety.
Don't hesitate to ask, there are many people here who want to help.
1951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should i buy ethereum with all of my money ? on: February 18, 2018, 10:17:56 AM
It's not suggested to invest all your money in cryptos or even in the stock market. If you read any book about how to invest, you will found out that diversity is the key.
You will divide your money into 4 or  5 parts, and one of them can be your crypto investment.
Even if you invest some of them in cryptos, it would be better to in 3 or more coins.
Don't keep all the eggs in the same basket.
1952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to anonymise the blockchain? on: February 18, 2018, 08:42:58 AM
What if the blockchain has just a big number, that for customers and competitors means nothing, but it encrypts all the information that can be used only by the company?
1953  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Chinese New Year Affect the Market?! on: February 17, 2018, 12:42:34 PM
Do you think that the Christian new year affects the market price? Or the Muslim new year?
Which do you think affects more the Chinese, the Christian or the Muslim?
I believe that now, you have noticed that all these dates are just simple days as any other of the year and none of them influences more than the other.
The only impact that can have on you is that you will probably not trade this day because you will celebrate with your Family.
1954  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best way to keep track of the bounties you are participating in? on: February 17, 2018, 12:20:45 PM
A simple Excel file will help you to remember all the bounties you are taking part. It is the simplest solution and you have it for sure in your computer.
Just write all the bounties in separate lines and the Facebook, telegram, twitter etc in separate rows. Tick the boxes every time you finish a task and you are ready.
Next day erase the boxes or copy the whole page and change the date.
You will be ready in zero time.
1955  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Litecoin About to go Big on: February 16, 2018, 11:42:55 AM
Litecoin is an alt that keeps a very low profile. Its price is not moving fast as other coins do but it is less volatile comparing it with others.
It has very low fees, that makes it suitable for transactions, and in my opinion, it is ideal for long time investing.
It is one of the many coins in my portfolio.
LitePay is something new, and I like mostly the card idea, but I am not sure if the banks will allow people using it.
1956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EU regulators : Cryptocurrencies can put you in jeopardy on: February 16, 2018, 06:08:48 AM
The stock market can put you in jeopardy too, but EU says nothing about it.
1957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: bitcoin adress problem on: February 15, 2018, 02:07:07 PM
It is impossible to know who owns a specific address unless the owner declare it. If you have a blockchain wallet (this is an online wallet) you can write your name to your address in order other people know who you are.
You are not committed to doing it, so the majority doesn't.
For example this address:

https://blockchain.info/address/1andreas3batLhQa2FawWjeyjCqyBzypd

belongs to the known entrepreneur Andreas Antonopoulos.
The address you're giving has not any information, so you can't find the owner.
1958  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin to go down big dip on: February 15, 2018, 11:25:06 AM
People don't care if the fork is official or it is not. Everybody knows what Charlie Lee announced about this fork. People want money, and this (as in any other fork) is for free.
So by buying more Litecoins, they have an opportunity to acquire some BitcoinCash for free. That is enough for them, it is free altcoins.
You don't have to make a research for this.
Litecoins price will rise until the announced fork (if any) and after that, it will return to the previous price $120-$150.

I don't expect any crash on Litecoin today because a hard fork is announced on February 18th. The owners of Litecoin will receive 10 LitecoinCash for every Litecoin they own. This is the reason why Litecoin has reached $221 today and probably move higher in the coming 2-3 days until the fork. The new forked coin will be mined with SHA256 mining hardware so it will probably attract some of the Bitcoin miners.
Charlie Lee announced that is against this new coin, time will show us if it will be successful or not.
You are clearly not doing a lot of research litecoin wont have any official fork,it is a scam it is already have cleared by the LTC's founder Charlie Lee,if you dont know about it you better to dig some information.Litecoin wont have any fork,LCC or LiteCoinCash is a scam and unofficial forked coin.Stay away if you arent yet involved or you can join and lose your investments.

1960  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralised exchange on the pair ETH-EUR on: February 15, 2018, 08:49:30 AM
What does decentralized exchange mean? I am not familiar with the term.

You can buy Ethereum in euros on Kraken and on Bitstamp .
Personally, I use Kraken, the only problem is that the last months is very slow but the positive is that you can withdraw fiat in your bank account whenever you want.

Hello,

Does anyone knows of a decentralised exchange that trades on the pair ETH-EUR.
(there are few that are trading on BTC-EUR pair but I have troubles finding one that covers the ETH-EUR pair)

Cheers
Hi mpufatzis,
Kraken and Bistamp are centralised exchanges. I need a decentralised exchange.
Cheers
