I'm doing really well on RG this season, so I have some budget available for crazy stuff Grin
I'll go with Khachanov today, the odds are almost 8 and Đoković does look solid, but not nearly as good as he used to.

Khachanov can make this difficult for Novak and the odds make sense to give it a try.

On a more serious ticket I'll go with +6,5 on Tsitsipas vs Alcaraz.
1943  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] 🔥🔥🔥 COINSLOTTY SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN – 100$ p/w, funds escrowed 🔥🔥🔥 on: June 05, 2023, 10:17:26 AM
So, the winners of the bonus rewards are:

1 – EarnOnVictor - 100 $
2 – Real-Duke - 70 $
3 – 348Judah - 30 $

The rewards will be paid out this Sunday (will be added to the regular campaign payments).

The cryptopad table can't be updated while one of you is in it so we'll do that as soon as it's editable again. Weird service, we'll see if we can find some workaround for the future.

The table has been updated as well.

A really interesting day for betting today - other than Etcheverry nobody is a huge favorite.
I really like the odds on Ruud - Jarry is a player I don't rate at all (although he did beat Ruud this year on clay).

I'm going with -3,5 on Ruud and -6,5 on Etcheverry, odds of almost 4 with a boost.

I wouldn't mind to send you a PM every race weekend as I'm active here anyways and if it helps to get your predicion in, that would be a good idea, wouldn't it?  Smiley
We are still having so many races, it's still possible to make up many points.  Smiley

I'll organize better for next year, for this season the white flag's already in the air Grin
Appreciate the offer though, thanks!

_____________

Still 15 or so races to go though, I'll continue playing for fun of course.

Welcome to Season 2 of the BSFL!

Round 1 questions are here!

We think that for the RG the tennis answers will be different this time, parts of the draws are really open.

Still a lot of football in these, let's go!

Damn, forgot to submit my picks again. I'm horrible at these things - too many pools I'm currently participating in.
No surprise I'm in last place, for Monaco I submitted 5 min before the race when I saw the DM from 1miau.

Well, free money for the winners I guess Grin
1949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 04, 2023, 10:12:29 AM
So in another word, SB hasnt settled with the prizepool yet for the 2nd season huh but hey its SB we are talking about so its either the same or its going to be a hell lot more for the next one. Cant wait for the detailed distribution on this

We basically have, we're waiting for final confirmation and for the money to arrive to our escrow wallet. It's Sportsbet, so no worries Grin
It won't be drastically increased - but to be fair when we discussed the rewards with SB initially we told them yearly seasons (or at least 2 seasons per year).
This season will be 5 months long, the previous one was 4 months long - and they are still approving the same 'season' budgets that we agreed, although it's for shorter periods - so it has to be said that their investment in BSFL is quite substantial.

If someone does not submit answers, it is then a 3-0 for the opponent? I think you adjusted it from 7-0 to 3-0 in one case last season, which makes sense. Will there so be  cup again? That's a nice addition to the league.

3-0, yes. And yes to the Cup as well.

OK.
After new BSFL season starts I can post any upcoming bigger combat sport events in this topic and you can select what you like for your questions.
I am daily following everything connected with MMA and for boxing I follow big fights and heavyweight category with Tyson Fury.
I think this will make BSFL competition more interesting.

Yes, that would be great. Not just by you and just for boxing, you're all invited to post interesting events happening.
1950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 03, 2023, 04:21:48 PM
OP has been updated.

Please read it carefully, some minor things in the rules have changed and we removed some insignificant and outdated rules from Season 1.

We're here in case of any questions - all we need to do is to define the budget but we're just waiting for the final confirmation from SB and we'll do that soon.

We did not want to miss CL final and RG finals so we hope you're fine with it not being defined at the time we start.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆 The Emirates FA Cup - Season 2022/2023 on: June 03, 2023, 02:17:35 PM
Well, not the best of starts for United Grin

City to do a treble this season? Seems quite likely right now.

_______________

I really don't understand why there's talk of Gundogan leaving. He's really happy in City and is a player of huge importance for this team.
He scored some crucial goals for City in the last few seasons and always steps up when needed. I think it will be a big mistake if they let him go.
1952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 03, 2023, 08:28:24 AM
CRO2:
With the expectation that there is for the new season, only for this round the questions cannot come out, today, tomorrow or Sunday...

The questions are coming tomorrow, the deadline will be Tuesday as usual.

OK, but that is not what happened before, we already had questions in BSFL with esports, games, dota and stuff that has nothing to do with real sport events.
Than I am asking you to please add more combat sports like Boxing and MMA events, this can be from UFC, PFL, Bellator and other MMA organizations.
I need to have some advantage for Division 1 promotion with combat sports I am following Wink

Trofo rage incoming in 3..2..1.. Grin

I kinda agree with you, I hate esports. But they are considered as sports, they are even applying to be in the Olympic games. Weird times we live in, yeah.

Regarding Boxing and MMA - there was 1 question. We'd like to put more, but never know what are big events because there are simply too many.
You can help us with this - just let us know when something really important is happening there and we'll try to fit it in the questions.
1953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 02, 2023, 02:00:35 PM
On competency (how good players are) Average Goals Scored would be the better indicator, since you need to get a question right, or answer more accurately than the opponent, to score a point. You'll see that Div1 (40.08) and Div2 (40.67) are much closer in that aspect (though Div2 still comes up on top). Div3 is significantly lower in that regard, with only 402 goals (36.55 average) scored.

Didn't adjust numbers for late answers or missed rounds... I believe that only happened in Div3?

Nice analysis - with 1 mistake though.
Div3 has a 40.2 average - it had 1 round less to play.

If you take player averages - Division 3 has 2 players in the top 3.
The best would be slackovic with a 4.63 average, followed by Woodie (4.6) and myself (4.5).

I think nobody else is above 4.28.
1954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 02, 2023, 06:36:10 AM
I read through most of these, here are some overviews:

edit: IMO, more than two options are great for each answer, when there are two (Yes/No), there is also a lot of draws/same answers
correct me if wrong @buwaytress but I think you had few rounds with almost all answers same and competition finished on mid-week (winner known due to one/two different answers already resolved)?

We plan to always have some 'easy' questions - the goal is to aim for 4-6 correct answers per player. The Yes/No questions are here to stay but there are usually 1 or 2 such questions per round.
Regarding the second point - that's something we don't want to see but is more random than initially thought - we did the analysis on that.

We had over 200 H2H duels (including the cup) - and it really does not happen that often. Also - there are rarely questions where players pick 70%+ of the same outcomes - which is something we are trying to avoid and are happy to see that it does not happen often.
mv1986 made the analysis for draws - we are thrilled with the percentage because it's really close to the 'real' football draw percentage - and that's exactly what we were trying to achieve.

Maybe it is possible to use Superbru or some other website to make all questions and answers instead of google forms.

Not possible - we can't manage H2H questions or penalty questions and can't do the cup there. Also we couldn't calculate the weekly freebets correctly.
Google forms are easy to use and Excel helps us tremendously when analyzing.
It also lets you see easily what your opponent picked - which would take a lot more time on a page like Superbru.

One more suggestion is to create bonus points for people who send answers earlier, that would be positive incentive instead of punishing people who post questions late.
Some people are waiting last moments to submit questions because they are waiting to see injured players and news, that is why people who send answers first should be rewarded.

It would lead to too much guessing (especially in tennis) - which we fully want to avoid.
Use all the data that you can until the deadline, if you're late you will get a small penalty and that's it.

There are a lot of players in Division 3 and it wont be easy to keep up with first two division, maybe you should have early play off matches that would cut off some players earlier.
I am also proposing to always add one bonus question in each round, in case any other game is canceled that would count instead and it can be used to decide winners when two players have same points.
One more thing, summer is coming and there will be less sports events but we can replace that with prediction for Bitcoin blocks or Bitcoin price.

If we run 2 Divisions 3, then no worries. If we run one, we'll have double rounds during some weeks. We want to have a big playerbase, so most who want to play will be able to.
Bonus questions won't be introduced unless we see that we're having a lot of cancelled games, it happened only once I think in Season 1.

Only sports questions will ever be in BSFL - so no Eurosong, Oscars, presidential elections or BTC prices Grin

Yeah, I knew even as I was typing that it seems "nice" on paper, harder to simplify for implementation. I'm 100% on board with simplicity, that's the strength of BSFL I feel, but even following some of the rounds (which I do even when am not playing for points, it's that interesting haha), I feel like there really should be a small but clear advantage to people who pick outside of the box.

Tennis does seem to be the most, but also from memory (maybe I'm wrong), lineup picks and NBA points. Of course, as there is no reward for outlier picks, most of us go with stats and pick the top scorers, right? Some really good mid-scorers looked attractive as an outsider pick, but when playing for the same points, then you don't think too hard and go for the ones with best averages, who are often way above the middle-scorers.

Tennis questions will surely be revised - we know how you bet. When you're not familiar with something, you just look at the odds and pick the favorites.
We implemented some great questions in theory (NBA scorers, 5 football goalscorers..) but were quite unlucky with the games - they had bizarre outcomes so the questions ended mostly with draws as well.

We plan to game a bit more with such questions, but will try to make them a bit more bulletproof to weird outcomes. We do need to have some H2H questions (we like these) and it's hard to write these because most of you are taking the 'easy' way out. We'll find a way though Grin
1955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 01, 2023, 11:49:40 AM
Don't really have new feedback, happy with formats and rules. I suppose I still think that to prevent majority draws on some questions, need to introduce an element of risk-reward. When making picks, the risk of choosing an underdog is too high, so you end up going for the favourite (knowing your opponent is likely to do the same).

To explain: why pick the guy with 5/1 odds instead of the guy with 2/1 odds, when you both are fighting for effectively the same point, right? Makes sense in betting because the win is 4x more than the favourite of 2/1, but not in this system where winner just gets the 1 point. That said, perhaps a bit too complex to implement (though I wonder if an Excel wizard could work out the "mean" answer, and highlight those who picked correctly outside of the mean/majority, and reward those with a "tiebreaker card", that maybe could be used for tiebreaker on a H2H draw.

To add to this - we really try to offer pairs that would generally carry the same odds - specifically so that players don't choose the easy way out.
For tennis questions that is impossible because we have to post questions way in advance and often we don't even know the draw at time of creating it - you know it because you answer 2 days later.
Tennis is far too important to skip, so we're still trying to manage it - tennis is the biggest problem by far.

Rewarding outside picks is a great idea in theory - but one we really cannot implement in the current format. We do like it, and have it in the back of our minds though.
1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⭐⚽⭐ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk Sports Fanatics League (BSFL) – 5000+$ rewards ⭐⚽⭐ on: June 01, 2023, 10:48:04 AM
Welcome to the Season 2 of the BSFL!

We cannot be more excited to see the hype around the league and to see new players joining from the Sportsbet's chat as well.
The bosses are happy too, and they are committed to BSFL for a few more seasons for sure. If you continue to be as active as you were so far, we'll reach the goal of this being a long-term forum competition!
General rules won't change much and you're all aware of them by now. You can read them here for a quick reminder. Most of our new members have tried out the competition already and know their way around it.

Season 2

5.6. – 8.10. (18 weeks) – 14 teams per Divisions 1 and 2 (13 rounds, 1-legged competition + the Cup and playoffs) and an undefined number of players in Division 3 so far (between 20 and 24).
Don't take the end date for granted – it might be a few weeks later (we are entering the summer season with not as much football so we might skip a week or 2 if we're really struggling to post meaningful questions).
We will go through all applications in Division 3 and after carefully evaluating them announce the Division 3 format. We are currently considering a single Division 3 with 20 clubs or 2 Division 3's (A and B) with 12 clubs in each – but might decide on something else entirely. We might even get more people in until the official start of the season.
What we can surely say is that the Divisions are expanding again – meaning that Season 3 will have 16 teams in Division 1, 16 teams in Division 2 and potentially even Division 4 – we'll announce that at the same time as the Division 3 general format. There will be 2 players directly relegated from Divisions 1 and 2, 4 players promoted from Division 2 to Division 1 (3 directly, 1 through playoffs) and 6 players promoted from Division 3 to Division 2 (promotion rules to be announced once we define the format of Division 3).
The format was supposed to be 2-legged in Season 2. We kept it 1-legged, we liked the fast pace of the season 1. We still don't know which format we'll use for Season 3 – but we're quite happy with the current one so might as well keep it going forward. Your feedback here would be appreciated as well.

Rules and recommendations

1.) Please install Telegram Bitcointalk bot. You will get notified every time we tag you for deadlines or important info.
2.) Please submit your answers on time. The bot will help there for sure.
3.) Please submit all the answers, and submit them with possible outcomes. When you give free points in your H2H questions to your opponent, it isn't fair to all other league members.
4.) To deal with the situations from points 2) and 3), we are forced to introduce some penalties. Each team that fails to submit answers on time or submits the answers in a way that is not in accordance with competition rules will receive a 1 point deduction – not for that round but from total points won in the league. We think the penalty is fair to keep the league competitive, and you can always ask in the thread if you don't understand some of the questions.
5.) If you repeatedly fail to submit the questions on time and in correct format, there's a high chance that we will be forced to remove you from the competition. The competition is becoming more serious and with the plans Sportsbet has for it going forward, we all need to do our part to make it fair and exciting. You were doing that most of the time in Season 1 so we aren't worried, and we thank you for it.

This is also the time for your feedback – we're taking it seriously and want to hear what you all have to say.

We will announce the rewards and Division 3 format until the end of the week.

The questions for the 1st round of Season 2 will be sent latest on Sunday evening.

If someone wants out, now's the time to say so. For the fairness of the competition, everybody from Division 3 that fails to submit the answers in the 1st round will be automatically disqualified.

At odds @10 or more, I'll surely toss some money on Fucsovics against Đoković today.
Đoković seems out of focus, Fucsovics is a decent player and the odds are simply too good not to give this a try.

I expect Đoković to win, of course - but I doubt it will be as easy as the bookies expect.

I watched Medvedev match for 15 minutes and placed a bet on Wild @ 4.85 odds.

It's amazing how big Medvedev's drop in quality is when nothing goes his way. If he just stayed calm, he'd have won eventually - but it's always the same with him.
He started well on clay this year and then fell apart in the most important tournament.

I expected so much more from him a few years ago. Nowadays I just try to place some high odds bets against him.
