1941  Bitcoin / Mining support / Ubuntu Xinerama + mining on: September 10, 2013, 09:51:45 AM
Hi
is there really no way to have Xinerama AND all GPU's active mining like here described?

http://whythiserror.blogspot.co.at/2013/06/adl-detected-more-less-devices-gpus.html

if Xinerama is on and I use 2 Monitors there is only one GPU active for mining

bfgminer and cgminer says
Code:
CL Platform 0 vendor: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
[2013-09-08 20:08:53] CL Platform 0 name: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing

[2013-09-08 20:08:53] There is possibly at least one GPU that doesn't support OpenCL
[2013-09-08 20:08:53] Use the gpu map feature to reliably map OpenCL to ADL
[2013-09-08 20:08:53] WARNING: Number of OpenCL and ADL devices did not match!
[2013-09-08 20:08:53] Hardware monitoring may NOT match up with devices!
[2013-09-08 20:08:53] GPU 0 ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series hardware monitoring enabled
 [2013-09-08 20:08:53] 1 GPU devices max detected

if Xinerama is off two GPU's are active for mining but I have only clone desktop on both Monitors

TIA

also mein Voting
1. bitparking
2. eligius
3. bitminter
+1 Smiley

eligius hat mittlerweile wieder Merged Mining mit Namecoins

auch im Internet geht es nicht immer/überall

no, temperature was ~62°C, now it is ~59°C

hi DrHaribo

I have located the reason for the error -> it is the bad thermal design of the BFL LS
because it was so noisy I looked and have seen that if I remove one plate of the chassis it is not only less noise, - it runs now without any errors for half a day (before after 2 hours it was tilt..)

OK It's confirmed, today I got offer from local seller (in Poland) for Avalon chips.
He got them from china in ammount of 500 pieces. He is not a bitcoin miner, he is not even aware what are these chips really designed for.
He is just regular chinese electronics reseller.
I will try to provide photo confirmation asap.
Alibaba offers are real!!

Can you try running it on a computer without a bunch of block erupters hooked up? It could be that they are causing the USB instability.
ok, will try tomorrow..
