1941  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding could be better on: January 15, 2023, 03:12:50 AM
Buying and holding any currency for a long time is really a matter of patience. Those who have exemplified patience by investing in crypto-currencies have largely profited by holding onto cryptocurrencies. But holding is the safest Because if a coin suffers a temporary loss after purchase, but later it is seen that the price of that coin has increased as a result of holding for a long time. So I think buying and holding any coin is best.

I am also a holder, so I will agree with you that holding is a better solution than short term trading. But I want to tell you that not holding any coin can be profitable. If the coin you hold is not bitcoin but altcoin, then I'm not sure holding will be profitable for you. Altcoins are very risky, many altcoins will die or never recover when we hold them for long. So long-term holding is good, but more important is which coin to hold. My long term investment recommendation is only bitcoin, say no altcoins.
1942  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it safe to buy now? on: January 15, 2023, 02:53:53 AM
I observed that the cryptocurrency market is a kind of green at the moment, but as a beginner, I still find it difficult to tell when the market is actually bullish. I will appreciate any advice from fellow community members concerning this current situation because I'm considering to buy some coins but finding it difficult to decide on which coin to give a trail.

Just a kind advice, the risk is mine.

A rising market doesn't mean you will be profitable if you buy it now, no one can tell you whether the market will go up or down tomorrow, let alone in the more distant future. If you don't have any knowledge of the market, my advice is to buy knowledge before buying bitcoin or any alts. As long as you have the knowledge, I believe you will know where to invest without anyone's advice. Investing on the advice of others is a grave mistake that you need to avoid making in the first place.

Chelsea could sign France forward Marcus Thuram for as little as €10m (£8.86m) this month with 25-year-old's Borussia Monchengladbach contract expiring at the end of the season. A very good price for a great player.
Thuram has the potential to generate a lot more money in my opinion. There is no doubt that this is a very lucrative deal for Chelsea. They were able to get this player for such a low price. In spite of that, I am not sure if Chelsea is going to be the right club for him. With all the problems that Chelsea is facing right now, it is no wonder why.

Manchester United have received serious takeover interest from the Middle East, Asia and America and are poised to invite formal bids from them by next month's deadline. British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe is also expected to bid for the club. In the end, who will bid the most and take over the club? The Saudis again?
According to my opinion, there is a very high chance that Saudi Arabia is going to take ownership of Manchester United in the near future. In addition to the money they have, the Saudi football scene is also getting more attractive at the moment.
1944  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: January 14, 2023, 06:35:45 PM
It is remarkable that Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig played against each other in a friendly today. By this I mean the fact that they will also face each other again at the end of the month before the competition. Today was just an exhibition game, with no less than 8 goals and a final score of 4-4. RB Leipzig led me t1-3, but how seriously can we take the results of friendly matches? I don't have the lineup at hand, but I don't think Bayern Munich played with the strongest lineup today.
I consider the friendly match as training for both of clubs. There are so many substitutions happened with the club. that means if the main purpose from the friendly match to give the whole of players from both of club experience against each other.
Leipzig has a very bad history when it was facing bayern. That proves that if leipzig may capable enough to make the match become draw. I think that we shall not consider the result from the friendly match as a serious thing.
Both of team were playing for fun. They just try to enjoy the match.

First of all, it was against Salzburg, not Leipzig. And I really do not care about friendly matches. I agree with you that friendly matches are just training for both teams. And a way to give the players who do not get enough playtime some experience.

I do not think that Bayern Munich is going to lose against Leipzig. Because I believe that Bayern Munich is far better compared to their opponent in this match. Just because they could not win in a friendly match does not mean that there will not be able to win the next Bundesliga competitive match as well.
1945  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading With Borrowed Funds!!! on: January 14, 2023, 03:32:37 PM
I think it depends on the person who is borrowing funds.  Remember, trading is not gambling.  Trading has methods and ways to assure a good result in trading.  So if a person is a good trader, I do not think that it is a bad idea to borrow money to gain profit from a trade he knows he can get a profit with.  Actually, it is a good start for a good trader to establish his financing capability.  But still we should  still calculate our risk in doing so, if the risk is far better than the result then it is not advisable to borrow money for that trade.
there are certainly many ways of trading through textbooks technical analysis but then again sometimes the market condition isn't as simple as that and sometimes trading is somewhat gambling, I think it's always better using money that isn't borrowed funds so in worst case scenario if we lost money we just lost it, unlike with borrowed funds that have interests it will become massive problems overtime.

Correct.

And when that happens, you'll be pressure even more to make profits in a very hard market situation, like bear market where a lot of fake outs could happen. Then you'll borrow money again for you to pay the first money you borrowed, then it will just keep on going, unless you know a way out. But ideally, trading with your own money is much better, less burden just in case you lose it all.

Even if we are good traders, that does not mean we will never lose money. When we trade with idle money, the trading psychology will definitely be very different, and we will make the correct decision. But if it is borrowed money, I am sure our psyche will be very heavy and pressured, our decisions will no longer be confident and accurate. Like when you demo trading with real account trading, different trading psychology will produce different results.

Depending on each person's mindset, we will make different decisions, but borrowing money to invest in volatile assets like cryptocurrencies is not advisable.
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be banned or stopped by governments on: January 14, 2023, 03:20:07 PM
Even if they banned all centralized exchanges and declared it illegal, it would be difficult to ban it outright. But if that happens, the global acceptance of bitcoin or the expectation that bitcoin will become widespread will be gone, and the one who has the most difficulty is us, no one else. So let's not expect that to happen.

Although the government cannot completely ban bitcoin, we do not need to make a public statement against them. We will be even more disadvantaged when we deliberately go against them, they are still the strongest in this world.
Well, isn't it already in some countries that prohibit it but for now bitcoin still exists and I think this is only made to make it as fud and does not rule out countries that prohibit it only to weaken it in terms of price so when it goes down they can buy it pretty cheap and re-legalize it.
We already know several examples such as China which continues to try and even change regulations regarding legal and illegal several times but still things like that don't really have much effect on crypto lovers because developments on this matter are still ongoing and bigger.

China has completely banned bitcoin, but there are still many Chinese investors who are still active, there will be people who are against the ban even though they are not the majority.

Today, the market is recovering, and the total market cap has just reached 1 trillion, and the capitalization of bitcoin is over 300 billion. It can be said that this is too small a number for a national economy like China, bitcoin capitalization is smaller than 1 of their business, so there is no reason for them to bother finding a ban and legalizing it just to buy cheap prices. Bitcoin is not big enough to impact a large country economically.
1947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 14, 2023, 11:32:13 AM
Yes they tried really well and but the New Zealand was strong in this match. The match was interesting and both teams were trying to win the series. But unfortunately Pakistan lose the match.
I written in my previous reply that if every player of Pakistan's team will play its role so they can easily win the match. But few has played well. So result is infront of us. :
Pakistan got off to a good start by defeating New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first ODI match but New Zealand performed brilliantly in two consecutive matches to take the ODI series under their belt.  Neither Pakistan nor New Zealand could win the two Tests instead the two Tests were drawn but in Pakistan's home venue everyone expected New Zealand to be whitewashed but in reality New Zealand won the ODI series by 2-1 against Pakistan.  Now all Pakistani players are busy playing Bangladesh Premium League.
When the Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand was underway, it was assumed that Pakistan would probably have the advantage of home ground. But the picture on the field was different. There were two draws but those were tough for Pakistan. But still it was thought that maybe Pakistan can win the ODI series even if they don't whitewash but that didn't happen either. At one point they lost two consecutive ODIs and also lose the series.

Of course, that target was enough. But Pakistan could not defend that successfully. If Pakistan could somehow get Glen Philips out I think that could have been the game for Pakistan. That, in the end, Glen Philips and the extra runs that Pakistan gave away were the problems for Pakistan.

New Zealand is the winner of this series. However, it was not a comfortable win for New Zealand at all. They had to fight really hard to win this series. Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman played really well in this match. But they needed a little more help from the team. If Pakistan reached 300 and gave less than 10 runs extra it could have been their match.
1948  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin can be banned or stopped by governments on: January 13, 2023, 04:43:16 PM
If governments could ban Bitcoin, they would have done it by now.

They can still ban it completely through centralized exchanges. By cutting off people's access to BTC with Fiat, it will be much harder for the cryptocurrency to be used at a large scale worldwide. The only solution would be to acquire BTC in person or through a decentralized exchange. But if Bitcoin is declared illegal for mainstream use, then people will think twice before using other methods to buy it with Fiat. They could easily face fines, jail time, or execution (depending on the country).

At least we know that not all countries of the world will turn themselves against Bitcoin. Some will support it, while others will reject it. As long as there's some level of support for BTC, we can be sure it won't go away anytime soon. Who knows what the future holds for the cryptocurrency? Just my thoughts Grin

1949  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price, January. $20000 or above possible? on: January 13, 2023, 04:26:10 PM
Right, we have unlocked $19k already, so we should tap ourselves in our shoulder for this accomplished, however, it's not the end of our speculation, we wanted to see $20k this month.

Although it's going to be weekends and slow day for us as speculators will take a rest and maybe some profit as well to go this weekend so let's see how the movement will be in the next 2 days, hopefully we can still maintain above $18k at least.
Whether bitcoin will unlock again over the weekend at $20,000 is like it would be very realistic to see a fairly quick upside, but said some speculation a correction is bound to happen again but I'd like to see $20,000 as a good starting point after a long wait of a bottom.

But the feeling is indeed this has been a positive trend for the past week it's probably going to be a nice continuation early in the year and the first quarter hit green after seeing a red market for so long.
Even though I won't sell, when the price goes up it's a pleasure for me.

I think with the current strong rally, bitcoin hitting $20,000 before the end of the week is entirely possible. But we won't know how long bitcoin can hold 20k, I feel both excited and bewildered as bitcoin goes up consecutively without any correction.

Not only you, but I think bitcoin is going up, but still no one is willing to sell their bitcoin at this low price everyone is accumulating bitcoin and expecting ATH 100k. Even for investors who bought at 15k, I believe they still want more profit than the current profit.
1950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 13, 2023, 01:40:49 AM
Sound like a nice way to retire and just keep himself out of the public. He promised to retire and so he did. We may have to forget about him getting back inside the cage. He has nothing to prove anyway even his best protege Islam proved it also.
The same result also if Connor fights Khabib, he might be able to make a career in boxing like Silva and perhaps Logan will be able to hype thier fight on PFL.
He's been putting on quite a bit of weight since retirement.  I think naturally he's a very big boy.  The amount of training and dieting he had to do to get into fighting shape and stay that way for so long was probably extremely difficult on him.  I don't think he'll be able to ever get back to that fighting shape now to be honest.  I also don't think he has any intention of trying to be a boxer, as he was a grappler and would probably get killed in a boxing match.  Now that he has seemingly retired from coaching as well, he'll probably continue to fade away until he is no longer mentioned, as his fighting opponents to me outside of McGregor weren't too impressive.

I don't understand how "his fighting opponents outside of McGregor weren't too impressive" he was ready to fight against anyone.

But no one wanted to fight against him. Mostly because everyone feared him. Whoever fought against him was badly humiliated in the octagon. That also made other fighters not want to fight against him. And he has also fought against really good fighters like Michael Johnson, Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, Edson Barbosa, and others. Before every fight, his opponent was given good odds to win. But he made it look so easy that when he beat them, people started saying this was not a good matchup.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: January 12, 2023, 05:03:48 PM
That Khabibs coaching retirement has spoiled all my plans Cheesy Few weeks ago I have placed a bet on Makhachev vs Volkanovski fight (try to guess my bet lol). Now, as Khabib is no longer behind gaming controller and does not manage Makhachev in a "video game", I am a bit worried of loosing my money (I wonder of bookies have corrected their odds). Lets watch how Umar Nurmagomedov performs this Sunday without his bro.
Do you know that growing cucumbers and tomatoes is one of Khabibs businesses? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke0jMM_d7WE or google it. This is not the first time he is using that joke (if he jokes). I know that he really has that kind of business (in Dagestan) and has delegated it to one of his relatives.

Khabib is probably going to take himself absolutely away from the fighting. Now it is a little hard to say that Islam Makhachev is still going to be as effective as before even without Khabib. After all, he was a great inspiration for Islam Makhachev. And the support he can give to Islam Makhachev from the side of the octagon is absolutely unbelievable.

As far as I know and remember Khabib did say that he was going to do business with sheep and other animals as well when he retired. I am not going to be surprised if he has some kind of business like with sheep and vegetables which is actually quite big.
1952  Economy / Speculation / Re: what If Bitcoin Price never comes up on: January 12, 2023, 03:11:53 PM
For now bitcoin could be feeling the bearish pressure because of a few events that happened like exchanges being hacked etc, but the secret arsenal it has to guarantee prices go up is its limited supply and all it takes is more increased pressure to come from demand to force prices to go up to fulfill these needs... For now it's a waiting game, stay put.

Bitcoin's limited supply is no secret weapon, but unfortunately, people who don't believe in bitcoin won't believe everything about bitcoin. As a result of the limited supply and the growing demand for bitcoins, I believe that the price increase for bitcoin is unstoppable.

Yes, investing in bitcoin is a game of patience, and rewards will be distributed to those who have enough faith and who stay with bitcoin. So we don't need to explain too much to them, if they believe, then invest, otherwise don't regret if bitcoin reaches 1 million dollars in the future.
1953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you still holding your coins #btc on: January 12, 2023, 02:44:17 PM
I did not sell all of my portfolio in 2021, I was expecting the bear season to come in 2022, and I am very pleased with what I have achieved so far, although I see many people feeling bad that bitcoin has dropped 80% by 2022. I accumulated some bitcoins in 2022, and in 2023 I hope there will be another down year so I can accumulate bitcoins at a lower price. As such, I have no reason to sell my bitcoin at the moment, I will only sell when it crosses the old ATH.
1954  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 11, 2023, 01:24:19 AM
Four teams in the race for the final two spots with Australia is surely having their seat confirm after winning against West Indies and South Africa and now three teams are fighting hard with most chances we will have India as other team but still things can change like South Africa and Sri Lanka can upset their opponents for the interesting end of this WTC 2023 round but with the current form and quality mostly peoples love to have Australia vs India final because both teams are having good quality and top players those can compete with each other in this format.

Sri Lanka and South Africa having good performance in past but sadly right now both are facing problems and their current form and quality is also not good to compete with Australia so things looking good for the two top ranked teams to compete with each other in final.

Eventually, it is going to be Australia versus India in the final of that test cricket championship. And it is going to be very interesting to see if India can actually win the test championship title this time. I am not saying that Australia is going to be an easy opponent for India. It is actually quite the opposite. But recently India has good performance against Australia in Australia. That is why I am confident that India might actually win against Australia if both of these teams reached the finals.

India doesn’t have a good amount of competition right now. But I do not think that is going to be a major problem for India. I believe India will be able to reach the finals.
1955  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 09, 2023, 08:45:17 PM
It's quite clear rhat Asernal will dominate the premier league this season, but if clubs like Manchester united could beat Asernal in any of their meetings it will become impossible for Arsenal to avoid Manchester winning which affect their position this season.
If Arsenal can lose to Manchester united again, then their is high chances that Arsenal will be dropping from the first position which they are currently, Manchester City is just looking for opportunity so that Arsenal will fuck up and they will overtake them.

Arsenal is still 5 points ahead of Manchester City. So, I don't think losing one match will see Arsenal lose the top spot in the table. Arsenal will lose the top spot if they drop points from two matches.
However, Arsenal's performance in the last three matches was quite good. They won against West Ham and Brighton and shared the points with Newcastle. Newcastle has been very strong this season.

So, I don't think sharing points with them is a bad result. It is challenging for Arsenal to win the next two matches. Both Tottenham and Manchester United are very strong right now. I think if Arsenal can dominate these two matches and win then they can become the champions of this season.
1956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 09, 2023, 08:08:54 PM

Jack Butland is a done deal for Manchester United on loan.

Dubravka's loan contract expired on January 1 and left the team. They must have wanted to fill his place with Butland. There have already been rumours like they were going to bring a new goalkeeper to the team. De Gea has also been speculated with leaving the team by the end of his contract in this summer. But it looks like they just want to keep the quality of goalkeepers as high as possible. Butland isn't a bad goalkeeper normally. He hasn't played in any matches this season so far. But hopefully he will stay fit and be ready for duty when the time comes.
Manchester United need a second choice goal keeper. Last month, I heard De Gea was to leave Manchester United at the end of his contract but now I hear he is considering accepting a contract extension to continue at the club, I'm not so sure how much truth there is to this but the signing of Jack Butland after the departure of Dubravka clearly indicates  Jack will be replacing Dubravka as the second Choice goal keeper for Manchester United.

I think right now, Manchester United is making a target to keep de Gea as the main goalkeeper.
And I think they brought in Jack as the second goalkeeper of the team. De Gea is still a good goalkeeper.

I don’t know why a lot of people say that he is not going to be good enough for Manchester United.
In my opinion, he’s actually going to be good if the defense of Manchester United does work.
If that opponent is breaking through the defense, the goalkeeper will have very little chance most of the time.
1957  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 09, 2023, 07:50:55 PM
South Africa or India have the best chances to take the second spot in my opinion. Am expecting South Africa to whitewash the Windies, India to draw or barely win against the Australians and NZ to win against the Lankans.
India need to give it their best since Australia are decimating everything in their way these days. Exciting stuff.
Even right now things are very interesting but for me most chances we will have India in final for the second time and then a good interesting final between Australia and India at The Oval which will be favourable for the Australia because mostly India is struggling here.
South Africa can whitewash to West Indies and New Zealand will be winner at home against Sri Lanka which could be ended for the both teams because most chances India will be won against Australia without any big trouble things looking positive for them at home for this series even Australia is also having positive results in last few series which bring them to the top of the WTC league table.
I wish we see the final between Australia and India in the test championship. When India is in the final of any ICC tournament it creates more hype, it creates more business and it creates more viewership as the cricket is more popular in India as compare to any other country.
With 15 matches, Australia are on the top at the moment followed by India who are at 58.93 points.  Surprisingly Srilanka are at number three spot with 53.33 points.

Honestly, I am not sure how others feel about Sri Lanka's chances of being one of the finalists in the world test championship, but I personally believe they have a good chance of doing well in this tournament.

Additionally, Sri Lanka still has a few important matches left to play. As a result, I do not think there is any way other teams can underestimate Sri Lanka. In the most likely scenario, we will be able to see a final between Australia and India. But that is still not very certain. It is possible that other teams will have a chance as well. And as long as there is a chance, there is a way in cricket.
1958  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I sell motorbikes to buy bitcoins on: January 09, 2023, 09:38:39 AM
Even if you sell your motorbike and invest in another field, as long as it is profitable, I will support your decision, but it's great that you decide to invest in bitcoin. Because bitcoin has the potential to provide better returns than other forms of investment. Although it offers high returns, it is risky, so you must listen to everyone's advice. Knowledge is an extremely important thing as well as investment capital, without knowledge you will lose more than profit. Please add knowledge when starting to invest.
1959  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Digital dollar a threat to Bitcoin ? on: January 09, 2023, 09:28:45 AM
If compared as a means of payment, bitcoin today is still not widely used because most people prefer to accumulate and hold bitcoins than to use it as a payment method.
I can't agree with your point, you mean a single coin having daily transactions of about 250,000 and yearly transactions of about 93 million is not widely used? These numbers are certainly more than the numbers of the holders as I am sure that BTC is active in payments, though more could be done.

Where do you get this metric? I mean, is this bitcoin transaction volume? If it's bitcoin's trading volume, the daily number is much bigger, I just checked CMC, and it shows bitcoin's 24 hour trading volume is over 13 billion. A number that is not too large compared to the trading volume of forex. But this is the volume bought and sold on exchanges, not the volume used as a daily payment method. People are still using bitcoin for investment instead of using it as a payment method. Even if your metric is a transaction metric for payments, 93 million is still too small to be considered widespread.
1960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 08, 2023, 05:51:04 PM
The Lazio VS Empoli match is going on right now. Lazio is in control of the match. 61 minutes have been played and the score is 2-0 in favour of Lazio. I think they will eventually be able to win this match.
Spezia VS Lecce matches also going on right now. The match is currently tied to 0-0. The deadlock has not yet been broken. This can very well end in a draw. But I really want to see Spezia win the match. Because that is going to make the table more interesting. And if they win they will also be able to stay farther away from the relegation zone.
Lazio vs Empoli is the most interesting and unpredictable match so far... I don't understand how it happened, but Empoli managed to score two last minute goals and draw... I initially had my doubts about Lazio, but I couldn't imagine they'd end up like that... I thought 2-0 was a verdict for Empoli, but I was wrong... Well Spezia and Lecce unsurprisingly finished the game without goals...

So, this happens again. Right when I said that one team is surely going to win, and as I made that statement probably in the 80th minute, the opposition fights back and steals a point from this match.
It’s like the commentator's curse. In this case, it is the predictor's curse Grin.

I was saying that we have seen some crazy things happen in football. But it looks like crazy things have become normal nowadays. For Empoli, this is certainly going to feel like a win.
