19402  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE!! POTENTIAL SCAMMER GATHERING PERSONAL DETAILS AND BTC WEALTH OF MEMBERS on: June 11, 2013, 09:24:26 PM
That is fishy. What business would ask you how much money you have?  Roll Eyes

Many surveys ask for your household income.  They need to know if you are worth contacting for sales.
19403  Economy / Lending / Re: Wanting 1.5 BTC loan. on: June 11, 2013, 09:18:07 PM
Usually shares.
I can offer shares of all my tournaments on sealswithclubs. Let me know.

People do not want to share your winnings on a poker site.

People want something of value, that they can easily sell for the amount of the loan, should you default.

You ship or transfer said item to lender.  They lend the coins.  You pay the coins back.  Your item is shipped or transferred back to you.
If they had any real collateral, they would just sell the item and buy bitcoins with the money.

Please understand how a loan works, thanks.

You don't think I understand how a loan works?  Did you read my post before you commented?  They lend coins - you pay coins back.  That is a loan.   Undecided

joeyjmr8484, by "shares" they mean a percentage of an asset, such as a mining payout.  They don't mean a percentage of your winnings.

Examples of collateral could be a cellphone, laptop, domain name, etc.  Something that is small and can be shipped for cheap, or transferred instantly online.  You get the item back when you repay the loan, so it is not the same as simply selling it to buy BTC.

If you don't have any collateral, as a new person you won't get a loan here - sorry.  It's too probable you would simply run away with the coins.  Try borrowing from a friend, a family member or get an advance from your HR department.

3. Don't ask to be a moderator (this hurts your chances).

Love this thread.   Cheesy
19405  Economy / Lending / Re: Have coins to lend! Available balance: 10btc on: June 11, 2013, 08:53:06 PM
I would like 1.5 BTC loan please. Need for 3 weeks.

You must have some reputation.
What would you do with no reputation? I am new and need to build reputation.

You provide collateral, as I mentioned in your other post.

Looking for 1.5 BTC loan for 3 weeks. TY

With only 20 posts, you will need to provide some collateral for the lender to hold onto.  Something worth at least $300.
Like what?

You can't be suggesting that I know your assets better than you.

19409  Economy / Lending / Re: Starting bitcoin "PTC/GPT" site. on: June 11, 2013, 01:57:09 PM
sounds too fishy for me and I bet no real advertiser would allow us to promote them like that.
You're not too far off. I have a lot of experience with PTC/GPT since I played around a lot with them when I was a kid and wanted to make some pocket change. I've also run my own PTC site once for a short period.

Since PTC-sites barely get any advertisers at all, the site owner puts up his own PPC/PPS/etc-ads and pays users to click them. This, however, is usually not sustainable on its own since the site owner usually pays more per click than he makes in revenue on average per click. To sustain the site, the owners add the option to upgrade your account at a high cost. The primary incentive to upgrade your account is that you get more referrals (the main source of revenue for users comes from other users they have referred to the site. You usually get a certain percentage of their earnings. Yes, PTC-sites are usually pyramid schemes.) and get a higher percentage of referral earnings. You can often also buy referrals from the site, but the catch is that these referrals are actually usually bots, not real people. They are often programmed to be profitable for the user in the beginning, but then suddenly they stop "clicking". Eventually, most PTC sites become completely unsustainable as people don't buy enough account upgrades and referrals, eventually turning the site into a scam.

So yes, PTC/GPT is definitely shady.

Most of them are a form of ponzi.

They use the money coming up (account upgrades) to pay out account balances, and the difference constantly grows.  There have been literally thousands of these companies to start up and fail since the late 1990s.  This is nothing new - it has failed to death.  Not sure why the OP thinks adding bitcoin to it makes any difference.

19411  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: POLL: Is TradeFortress a scammer? on: June 11, 2013, 03:20:45 AM
Trade bring's on most these threads himself! I would advise him to just apologies for everything he has scammed (according to the 33% who got robbed and voted) and move along trying to rebuild his horrible reputation. He never completely scammed me but he does troll a lot and make him self look suspicious by posting invalid arguments all over bitcointalk.org. SO far I would not trust him at all until he (HIMSELF not anyone of his schills) come out and fixes his wrongs.

You just described yourself.   Roll Eyes

Not really - has (0) listings in all the categories.

Is it your page?

My little brother was taken from me last week by food allergies at the age of 11, and I have been thinking of ways to memorialize him.

Did he?  Can you post a link to the obit here?

I'm sure you understand that without community investigations, everyone would be coming in here and making up a story about a dead sibling just to help sell their crap.   Undecided

Nothing is for sale yet. There will be a $100,000+ foundation (created by a Colorado based investment organization that my step dad works for), and a website up (with links to all the confirmation you may desire) before anything is for sale.

What's the obit link?  Post it here please.
19417  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Exchange - Need Funding on: June 10, 2013, 08:41:59 PM
So, the investors bring the cash - what do you and your two partners bring to the table for getting half a million dollars in value of the company?  You want me to pay $30,000 for 5%, I want to know what they are giving up for 80%.

And don't say the idea.     Wink
19418  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Exchange - Need Funding on: June 10, 2013, 08:18:47 PM
Thanks for letting me waffle on Smiley

LOL that you did  Wink but you didn't answer the question.

What is the money going to be used for?
Who is going to program it?
