im used 10x gtx 1080ti produce 56usd per day

And how much your capital investment for 10 GTX 1080ti ?
Hahaha.
Lets do the math

10=7000

If purchased summer of 2017

365 x 56 = 20000

Power is 5 a day 1800

So

20000- 8800 =

11200

Minus two mobos ram psus

Looks like he made over 10000 if purchase was summer 2017

Lower it to 4000 if purchase was nov 1

And resale is. 4000 easy. So. 14000 if July 15

Or 8000 if nov 1

Profit is 7000 + 1800 = 8800

Can someone explain the purpose of these versus just placing the motherboard on top of the anti-static bag that the motherboard comes in?

I cpu mine and  gpu mine  the ¾ inch lift  does allow better  cooling of the mobo cpu socket  and for that matter the entire mobo is cooled.

I mine riseless  so my mobos are multi slotted and having air circulating under the mobo is good.

One thing  he could have done    is drill a few 1.5 to 2  inch holes under space where the  cpu socket is.

But I did that myself

I am glad you got your order fixed Phil.

While not super speedy with their response, I have found SQRL team to be effective in their dealings with me.

I for one am anxious to see what this product can do for a small home miner.

Well I now have that order  and the single acorn 215+ one order from the mineority.

So I will end up with one  2 card nest

I will test it a bit then  decide what the best setup is .

19504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8th Alt coin thread. Or what to do now that asics are all over the place. on: July 20, 2018, 05:10:12 PM
Not sure if this is the right board to ask, but anybody knows how exactly Bitmain's order works when you pay 50% for pre-order?

1. Are you being locked in into half btc (or other crypto) now, half later or it is being adjusted based on btc price later on (this would be more fair, of course, but probably too much to expect)?
2. Do you pay second installment into the same btc/bch/ltc address or they would give you another address?

Great questions  I don't know the answers to them and chose to not place an order for that item for those reasons.
19505  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: July 20, 2018, 01:54:20 PM
That's why I advocate for a FIAT bank card payment solution. Items are sold in USD/$. Paying in card is cristal clear, fast and easy, much more than coinpayments.

I am on discord with sqrl_Jess right now

and it is fixed

19506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: July 20, 2018, 12:53:00 PM

the cheap one is us post office flat rate   medium box I think  that is about 6 to 10 days  to most of the world.

fedex is fedex one  is faster then the other.

one is about 6 days the other is about 3 days

what country are you in?

I am in EUROPE, so I don't know If i can take that flat rate 75 USD shipping, also I don't intend to pay tax to them because tax will be payed to my customs when it arrives to my country.

Also because my customs will be charging me TAX on complete value (Goods + shipping) it important to say that if i buy something for 200USD and shipping is 150 USD, customs will be charging TAX on 350 USD.

Because of that I don't want to for someone to return me overpriced shipping later because my expense would be expanded to bigger proportions because of VAT.

I think this is so unprofessional to start major operation without testing the web shop.

I am also from EU. GPUHoarder said that the VAT you pay on their side includes the import tax, so you should pay only once and customs should not charge you. Hovewer i have no hard evidence that it is really that way.

I would have ordered a dozen or so to ship to Europe  but my offer for free help made early in the thread was turned down.

I did this with multiple Avalon miners the model six and help about a dozen pieces to be sent to Europe and Canada.

@fvineyard  I am glad your order was not cancelled  and they allowed an address change for you.
@EldIII I am glad your orders both worked

They sent a follow up telling me they are checking to see if they were paid.

I sent the the info from coinpayments that says they were paid.

So   if they did not get the   coin  then coinpayment f'd up

they are a usa company  which means they squirrels would be liable for using a payer company  that failed.

Frankly  it should not take 7 days  with multiple emails and pms  from squirrels to fix it.  So I managed to trigger a glitch  in the payment software.

Either send me the coin make or put in the order.

BTW  they said  if would bump someone  if they put in the order.

I offered to take a refund    fuck it is only 0.07193415 BTC  of which  0.07192    is the payment the rest was the fee so correction should be snappy.

I remind everyone  preorders mid june and shipping in late june  was how this started in the early posts.
I remind everyone  preorders were mid july  and shipping is now in Aug Sept Oct

Since they use coinpayments  all  coins are mixed and mingled

A trend is developing......

19509  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: July 20, 2018, 02:08:24 AM
I could not get  coin payments on my mac to work.

Older browser may be why.  when I finally got it to work on the fourth order it took the coins.

So a pop up from squirrels appeared and said  you already have 3 unpaid for orders  so we cancelled the fourth one.

popup appeared after coinpayment took the coin on the fourth order. Grin

Really pissed as I missed the August cutoff due the the first orders not working.

I moved from pc to pc until I went to a mac with high sierra and chrome which did work.

the order from mineority worked on the older os and browser.

As for the Squirrels website I am not a fan of a system that will auto cancel an order after receiving a btc payment.  they should fix that.

it should have canceled first and not taken the payment at all.

and if it auto cancels it should leave a trail there is zero evidence since it was a pop up and here today gone in a flash message.

and finally a fix!

2018-07-18: NiceHash or high difficulty miners can use port 3334 instead of 3333. Starting difficulty on that port is 1,000,000.

I will point 1 ph asap.
Sorry about the delay in getting this done. I've had unreliable internet for some time and haven't been able to get onto bitcointalk. As you've noticed high difficulty miners are supported now and I'll work through the backlog of other issues.

thank you

L3+ from bitmain down to $289.

I’ve read a lot of speculation they have a more powerful scrypt miner to hit the shelves next.

I have no real opinion on their business model. It’s not something I’m knowledgeable in

they may  I think the l3 is a 28nm  too maybe they can boost a 16 or 10nm  to do 900mh at 700 or 800 watts

vs the 500mh  at 700 or 800 watts

and a new build
aluminum mounting plate --------new from spotswood
a rx 560 4g for 99 dollars --------new from new egg
 the aorus x470 -------------------new
the ryzen 2700---------------------new
2x 16 gb sticks of ram-------------had this on hand
a corsair ax1500 psu --------------had this on hand
a 500gb wd ssd--------------------had this on hand

this will be more of a development rig may add the acorn's to it.

That new rig has some nice potential for a rendering rig with a couple higher end GPUs.  Or for Acorns with some GTX 1080 Ti... once the x4 risers are out you could probably run at least 4 Acorns and 4 1080 Ti, maybe more.

I just  got it running..2 1080ti's with  the eth pill

and here it is

https://www.nicehash.com/miner/146UJM5kgzLVUV23CXCf33KQKHckoX1gx3

very good looking board lots of lites
19512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Acorn M.2 FPGA based GPU Accelerator on: July 19, 2018, 09:38:53 PM
so I think they do 15 or 16 mh at 15 to 17 watts stand alone

They do not unfortunately, GPUHoarder just confirmed it in Discord. They can provide boost, but they need a GPU to do some of the work.

well I have gpus.  but to be clear the acorn 215+  is not capable of stand alone mining?
Not x16r.
The only algo so far I have heard GPUHoarder mention that the Acorn could be used for standalone mining is Keccak. There will probably be more, but that's the only one for now.

after a careful look

that seems to be the case.

however

1 x2g nest  should give a boost to 2 1080ti's

of   76%  and use 32 watts

1080ti   1.94x   +13%   100%   1.76x   +16%   44%

so 40  mh and 400 watts  add the x2g and go to

70mh  and 432 watts

so if you have a z170 board with 2 1080tis'  and add 770 worth of acorns

you go   up decently

40 mh 400 watts  2x1080ti's
70mh  432 watts  2x1080ti's plus the x2g with a pair of acorn 215+

Since:
I don't need cards
I dont need  mobos
I don't need ram
I don't need psu's

the choice of adding a 600usd  used 1080ti

vs adding this 770usd  2 acorn nest   is easy enough

Philipma, based on information from the Seth Estrada interview with GPUhoarder, I thought this seemed inaccurate "1 x2g nest  should give a boost to 2 1080ti's"   What I got from the video is that the X2G Nest loaded with 2 acorns could fully accelerate 4 GPUs and this is because of the onboard pice switch in the X2G.   Maybe he misspoke or maybe I misunderstood but I watched that part 3 times in awe of what I was hearing.

you may be correct  they are much more informed then I am.

I got 1 more email today saying they are working on my canceled order of 1 x2g nest and 1 acorn 215+

still not fixed.

if they fixe it I will end up with a loaded  x2g nest as the 1 acorn 215+ ordered from mineority seems to be correct.

so 1 nest +  1 acorn

and  1 acorn

should be a start for me hoping for them to square it away very soon.

19519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 200+ GPU in a container - Cooling possible ? Some Feedbacks ? on: July 18, 2018, 11:48:22 PM
you can liken cooling a room with air to pumping water through a chamber.

the size/placement of the inlet, exhaust and most importantly the chamber itself as well as the components that need the airflow to reach them are all vital factors.

just throwing a cfm fan rating around is pretty short sighted.

its good to guess though Smiley how hot is your garage these days philip?

85 f

as I am only running 2500 maybe 2600 watts at home for the summer

I did help Marvell2 with his garage venting and he had more then 350 gpus IIRC

he has issues in the summer as pulling in replacement air is hard for his setup.
19520  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 200+ GPU in a container - Cooling possible ? Some Feedbacks ? on: July 18, 2018, 11:05:00 PM
Hi all   Cool

I would like to get some feedbacks (if there are) of data system cooling engineers or pro miners that already thought or created a small GPU mine in a container ?

I've looked at the Envion one (https://www.facebook.com/envion.org/videos/envion-mobile-mining-operations/1930469803947689/). They have a clever passive cooling solution for asics as they plug tubes and pipes directly at the exhaust of each asic but they do no show their plans for GPU mining rigs.

for 200 to 250 GPUs I was thinking of 3 cased fans at the bottom 50cm or 60cm (20 or 24 inches) each on one side of the container that would drag the outside air inside and 3 others at the roof that would suck the air out. Note that container might be in a sheltered place that have temperatures arrround 5 to 10 degrees C (41 to 50 F) . What is your opinion ? What would you do to cool such a massive rig ?

Also what about the air condensation ?

yeah  200 gpus pulling 200 watts each = 40000 watts

you need  to move a lot of air  give me about 5 minutes to get a number

okay  17000 watts with 3200 cfm of fan  will stay cool  in this setup

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKlXarvBv5M

it has 2x 1600 cfm fans

so if you have 6x cfm fans like this  on the roof

 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Master-Flow-1600-CFM-Power-Gable-Mount-Attic-Fan-EGV6/205924917

you will pull 10000 cfm

I would lift the container of the ground   and have vents in the floor of the container
