I placed two orders, one for Acorns (August release) and another for Nests that were available after my first order. No issues with either order and good customer service with a shipping address change request after the fact.

No issues for me.

the cheap one is us post office flat rate   medium box I think  that is about 6 to 10 days  to most of the world.

fedex is fedex one  is faster then the other.

one is about 6 days the other is about 3 days

what country are you in?

I am in EUROPE, so I don't know If i can take that flat rate 75 USD shipping, also I don't intend to pay tax to them because tax will be payed to my customs when it arrives to my country.

Also because my customs will be charging me TAX on complete value (Goods + shipping) it important to say that if i buy something for 200USD and shipping is 150 USD, customs will be charging TAX on 350 USD.

Because of that I don't want to for someone to return me overpriced shipping later because my expense would be expanded to bigger proportions because of VAT.

I think this is so unprofessional to start major operation without testing the web shop.

I am also from EU. GPUHoarder said that the VAT you pay on their side includes the import tax, so you should pay only once and customs should not charge you. Hovewer i have no hard evidence that it is really that way.

I would have ordered a dozen or so to ship to Europe  but my offer for free help made early in the thread was turned down.

I did this with multiple Avalon miners the model six and help about a dozen pieces to be sent to Europe and Canada.

@fvineyard  I am glad your order was not cancelled  and they allowed an address change for you.
@EldIII I am glad your orders both worked

They sent a follow up telling me they are checking to see if they were paid.

I sent the the info from coinpayments that says they were paid.

So   if they did not get the   coin  then coinpayment f'd up

they are a usa company  which means they squirrels would be liable for using a payer company  that failed.

Frankly  it should not take 7 days  with multiple emails and pms  from squirrels to fix it.  So I managed to trigger a glitch  in the payment software.

Either send me the coin make or put in the order.

BTW  they said  if would bump someone  if they put in the order.

I offered to take a refund    fuck it is only 0.07193415 BTC  of which  0.07192    is the payment the rest was the fee so correction should be snappy.

I remind everyone  preorders mid june and shipping in late june  was how this started in the early posts.
I remind everyone  preorders were mid july  and shipping is now in Aug Sept Oct

Since they use coinpayments  all  coins are mixed and mingled

That's why I advocate for a FIAT bank card payment solution. Items are sold in USD/$. Paying in card is cristal clear, fast and easy, much more than coinpayments.

I am glad you got your order fixed Phil.

While not super speedy with their response, I have found SQRL team to be effective in their dealings with me.

I for one am anxious to see what this product can do for a small home miner.

Well I now have that order  and the single acorn 215+ one order from the mineority.

So I will end up with one  2 card nest

I will test it a bit then  decide what the best setup is .

I will probably wait for the actual product to be out so someone can test it.  I have checked in discord and email Asus, as of now I am still unsure if my asus b250 is compatible with acorn.  If any of you can test your b250 it would be great if you can share it here, cheers!

B250 Boards come with x16 slot that is on the cpu, thats your only hope for acorn, you can fit 4 acorn there, but your gpu's is gona be on the chipsets pcie lanes, so it have to go over dmi, dmi like a 4x pcie 3.0, so 2 acorn will be the limit, so you can run a 2:8 setup. Given your gpu's can run pcie 3.0 you can run a 2:4.

The other solution is Nest X2G, if set up right, the onboard pcie switch and dma controller will handle the high bandwidth data, and it can be run of a 1x slot. But youre still limited to whatever max gpu your board have.

So for example with a Biostar TB250 12gpu board you can have 3x Nest X2G with 4 gpu and 2 acorns on each.

Due to the pcie x1 3.0 ports on the Nest X2G for gpu's you can not run a 1:1 setup like this. 1:1 on B250 is out of the question Smiley

( Got some crazy idea while writing this, to use m.2 slot to pcie x4 converter, then you could use 2:2 on a Nest X4, 2 gpu and 2 acorn all on pcie x4, and have the high data contained there so you could stick it into a x1 slot on the motherboard, but better motherboards is cheaper then. )

Hey guys,

This thread is pretty large and has gone over lots of options, some of these leading toward confusion. So I went through every post on here, and every article, along with Squirrels Research Labs website and made an article that I hope clears some unknowns up. If you could take a look and see if I missed anything that would be great.

https://www.freelearner.how/2018/07/15/the-acorn-fpga-gpu-accelerator-the-ultimate-guide-to-enhanced-gpu-mining/

Hope all is well.

Sincerely,

I had the same issue when they first went on sale and could not get an August order in.
Ah well.

I could not get  coin payments on my mac to work.

Older browser may be why.  when I finally got it to work on the fourth order it took the coins.

So a pop up from squirrels appeared and said  you already have 3 unpaid for orders  so we cancelled the fourth one.

popup appeared after coinpayment took the coin on the fourth order. Grin

Really pissed as I missed the August cutoff due the the first orders not working.

I moved from pc to pc until I went to a mac with high sierra and chrome which did work.

the order from mineority worked on the older os and browser.

As for the Squirrels website I am not a fan of a system that will auto cancel an order after receiving a btc payment.  they should fix that.

it should have canceled first and not taken the payment at all.

and if it auto cancels it should leave a trail there is zero evidence since it was a pop up and here today gone in a flash message.

I am mining CN7 using Vega cards. All my rigs have one mini sata and one pcie slot empty. Each rig with 7x Vega is hashing 14+ kh/s. Is this fpga viable for me or not?

It is, but choose the CLE 101 if you don't intend to mine non CN (or ETASH) coins.
One CLE 101 will will you a 33% boost on ONE Vega. That's the minimum promised. If the ARCON usage is 100%, that's all you'll get. If it's 50% usage, you'll get 33% per GPU on 2 GPUs.

Squirrelsresearch is yet to release the figures.

That doesn't sound right at all.

No one can pay tax in your behalf, only thing they must do is provide papers that states how much are the goods in USD, how much is the shipping in USD and state of origin that goods came from.
Otherwise it could happens that you pay TAX on all that together and that would be very bad.

And that is something that usually happens with USA companies that doesn't give a crap about EU market.

Sure they can pay the import tax, I dont know how it works for your area, but here they could just send all the shit thats going to europe to some warehouse in europe, pay the import tax themself for it all, and then ship it to customers from there.

They can, there are procedures for that, as long as they pay the actual VAT rate. There are something like 8 differents standard VAT rates in the EU.

They took down the option to pay with Crypto, only ACH.  Mineority accepts Crypto though.
