1961  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: UnionBank SMS phishing scam alert! on: August 16, 2020, 04:52:56 PM

1962  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think the house can counter your strategy? on: August 16, 2020, 03:11:15 PM
Dice games turned out to be my hobby. It does not exploit or bug, I just use a fair strategy.
In the case of bitcoin dice games, then there is no way for the house to counter your strategy without rigging the game. Provided the dice results are totally random, which they should be, then neither you nor the house can do anything in the way of adopting a strategy or a counter-strategy which would change the house edge over the long term.
Progressive bets in dice is the best strategy and there is no way that casino will prohibit increasing your bet if you lose. So the dice game is totally random, you just bet on which you think will win high or low and that's it. Actually there is also no way for casino to find out what's going to draw next if they are really fair, it is the system they build that decides what they gonna draw next. Interview some casino millionaires.

This is assuming, of course, that the casino you are playing on is provably fair, and allows you to verify that the dice rolls are in fact random. If the site you are using is not provably fair (and make sure you test it yourself and don't just take their word for it), then they can absolutely rig the game against you.
Sometimes when I try new casino, I really try their dice game if it is really fair, and I must say some of them are not fair in dice. I roll 10 times with low bets, all high and I roll again 10 times with low bets, all low they will not rig the game until you raise your bets. This is why looking for the fairest casino is a must, don't be fooled with bonuses.
1963  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What makes a good bettor? on: August 15, 2020, 10:17:00 PM
A good bettor would be someone who knows that he's gambling which is nothing but entertainment and he's paying for that entertainment, the thrill that comes with it. The bad gambler would want to have fun and at the same time win money continuously for long time, which is impossible. Hence, to be a good bettor, set your limits. It's alright to have an addiction, but it's never alright to be a slave of that addiction.

What? when we say good bettor that means he's aware of what is he betting for, in short he is playing to win it not just for entertainment purpose. Having a straight lose won't make you any good bettor lol.

Gambling freely is different from what a good bettor is, what you mean is those people who just wants entertainment and does not care about the money at all.

Guess you didn't know what it is to be  Huh
1964  Other / Meta / Re: [ETH] tag on: August 15, 2020, 09:56:06 PM
@LoyceV was right, if we add the eth tag then we should consider adding most of the altcoins too coz they are similar with ethereum.

But what if there's a ethereum tag in the forum? would it be too much? I mean we consider ethereum as the queen of the market right?

I'm sure if there will be a ethereum tag, payments from campaigns will be more in eth  Embarrassed
1965  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Gameplays and Strategies on: August 15, 2020, 08:32:09 PM
I'm a casual poker player and I swear poker is a hard and exhausting game but trust me it's fun when you're winning.

I see that you are a beginner on poker, I must advice that you don't go in high blinds table that would be problematic for you, instead go for the lower blinds table where you can easily fold when you feel that your cards is a trash, that won't push you to go far with less chance winning cards. And also the in and outs of the card, it is hard to read the cards but you should know your chances on getting the card that you need to win the round.
1966  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the best welcome offer for you? on: August 15, 2020, 07:22:06 PM
We are free to define how many losses do we need to say that we're in a losing streak. It can go more than that or exactly as you have said.

Losing streak has never been good and we don't like it not unless you're in a test and you're trying a strategy which you think is going to be effective.

Not sure why you would want to test out a losing streak - if you find yourself in a losing streak with your strategy I would recommend taking a step back and revaluating your appraoch.
I kinda laugh at this a little, he said losing is quite good when you are trying out a new strategy lol. If you tried a new strategy and gets 2 consecutive losses you might have been missing something, as what @mauser have said try to re-evaluate coz there is no good strategy that will let you lose most of the time unless you are trying a losing strategy haha

I think some sort of protection for losing streaks from the casinos would be nice. A feature like rake back as you have in many only paker casinos would be nice. So if you bet a lot and lose a lot, you get some money back from the casino.
I think any casino won't do that, it is proper to have a player money amount limit for each day they play. They are fooling themselves if they give back to you what you have lost, it's like they are giving you a chance to regain your losses from that chance money. no way.
1967  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Rise Due to Lower US Dollar? on: August 15, 2020, 06:37:07 PM
The dollar was strong in 2017 where the bitcoin grows and skyrocketed to $20k. Is there a direct effect of the dollar to the bitcoin, well we cannot totally say there is because the past situation is different from now but thinking in simpler ways, as dollar is weakening people will most likely to spend it rather than keeping it in low value and the fact that bitcoin is accessible people could easily look for it and buy it to store their value before it gets lower. Bitcoin have risen before even the dollar isn't weak, bitcoin's price has a core of speculation can't really tell directly.
1968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donald Trump signs executive orders banning TikTok and WeChat on: August 15, 2020, 05:30:13 PM
In this case, if USA is bothered by the fact that TikTok is stealing information of USA citizens and gives it to China, could other nations also ban Facebook?
I was thinking the same thing China could easily have their revenge by banning facebook in their country but then facebook is not just a social application, it is a business for most of the people coz it has a marketplace. " Threatens to impair the security of the United States " , Trump by saying this alone is a hypocrite himself, America has been accused of more like this before they are just good in defending themselves coz some country will know what will happen if they try to mess with United States, now that there are bigger countries than America they are threatened.

I think it is only fair that facebook should be banned overseas as well. Don't get me wrong I hate china as much as the next guy and I am very very glad that tiktok is banned there, it should be banned everywhere around the world, but also should facebook and instagram as well.
I guess the case with tiktok and facebook is different, every country could simply say this but the thing is facebook has its own server and do not disclose any information to the government, that's what the facebook said.  Huh
1969  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2020, 04:43:17 PM
In my opinion, getting parents to understand Bitcoin is a bit difficult. Because my own parents did not really know and understand the world of technology, especially if it was presented with a discussion and understanding of bitcoin.
Everyone on this forum has their own way of introducing Bitcoin to their parents or loved ones.
I myself introduced bitcoin to my parents as a Digital Currency that can be exchanged for cash or real money. By trading it on an exchange. I also said that bitcoin can be used for any payment but not for my country. Bitcoin is a technology of the future that will change the way of payment today.

And I also say the last time, that Bitcoin is a good investment tool but with high voterity.
Even though my mother is previously an accountant, she have a hard time to understand the concept of the bitcoin and how the bitcoin works. I explained to her how the bitcoin formed, how it can be used and how to get it in detail way. At first she didn't understand what am I saying but over time she managed to understand it a little bit. Right now she is now a fan of it and have also a high hope that it can be use in order to develop the current payment system that we have.
That is maybe because bitcoin is the very opposite of what your mother have studied, as an accountant, you are being taught on how to handle finance but it's all about the paper money. I guess your mother was just too used of the old era of money, where there's only one method to use for payment that's why he's having hard time understanding what bitcoin is and how it really works. I appreciate how you introduce bitcoin to your family, you seem a fan of bitcoin for a long time, good job  Cheesy

I also said to my mother that bitcoin is not just a currency and a form of payment system. It can also a good investment vehicle in order to gain profit. But when I explained to her how trading works, it seems that she cannot understand it anymore because it is complicated. I just taught her the basics and not the complicated part.
As your mother does not know any thing about it, you should have begin with the basic since she will understand the demand and supply part easily.
1970  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Carlos dominguez vs banks on: August 15, 2020, 03:24:36 PM

https://www.pna.gov.ph/opinion/pieces/312-beware-of-bitcoin-scam

Banks showing warnings such as this should not really be taken into a bad light.
I haven't seen that Carlos Dominguez bit anywhere kaya medyo alangan ako sa credibility nito talaga, at kung sakaling pinutol man ng noontime show ang kanilang interview tungkol dito sa taong to midway e it will immediately cause a buzz among news outlets, kaso wala eh.
1971  Other / Meta / Re: Is your Bitcointalk password strong enough? on: August 14, 2020, 09:10:59 PM
I had an account here before and it got hacked in last bitcointalk hack, I was naive back then and had used very simple 4 worded password ('easy to remember').
Password should be more personal or better it's you and only you who knows about that thing. Now I upgraded myself giving passwords to my account, if it is allowed to put special characters I'm doing it, that will going to give you a strong passwords not just an alphanumeric. But this is not the era of guessing passwords, it is a new era of new methods of hacking, passwords is just an open padlock.
1972  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You have to prove that you can take the loss on: August 14, 2020, 08:03:19 PM
Most old-time gamblers are good at controlling and faking their emotion I don't think it will be an issue at all it's the newbies that will have a hard time proving if they can take a loss, because while you are learning how to gamble you'll also become good at concealing your real emotion
so it will be no problem for old gamblers.

Newbies will have problems unless they are quite rich already and does not matter to them even if they lose out some money in gambling. For the old gamblers, ones who can have a good self-control those will be fine, but ones like who are sort of an addicted and hardly can stay away might still face some issue due to this notice.
Newbie or not as long as you know how to manage your money and discipline yourself you will not lose that hard in gambling, in most cases newbies win on their first try. I always advice to minimize the losses and prevent being addict and greedy is learning when to put a bet, analyzing first the game, studying the past results will give you a better position in present. Addiction is the biggest enemy here, coz once you lost you always want it back as soon as possible and tends to become addict rather than wanting to regain the losses which has a negative effects not only in financial but in some aspect of mental being.
1973  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investment plan on: August 14, 2020, 05:27:58 PM
bitcoin and ethereum are the second best coin choices. the reputation of the two coins is already good and why do we still doubt the two coins? of the two coins we only need to get profit without anything. so don't hesitate with the two coins
Though these coins are reputable in the market, what the others worry about is that they are popular that means it has a higher chance of a pump or dump, highest volatility rate for short. While the other people wants to invest in a coin that has a potential, a coin that costs less than a dollar and expected to be doubling, tripling or 1000x higher the next months, bitcoin and ethereum shows a monthly spike where the other people find too risky. This ain't a problem for the experienced trader and investor, they know what they need to do with these two, HODL!
1974  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Original Bitcoin Holder! HoDL HoDL HoDL on: August 14, 2020, 03:27:29 PM
I wasn't even here yet when that dude posted that thread.
I believe he was drunk when someone rementions that thread not that long time ago though.
Same bro, it was dated in 2013 I was just about high school that year and don't have any idea of the internet lol
As he said he had some whiskey, I believe he's drunk that time but also he's aware of what he typed.

To this day, it is still quite used of a word lol.
yup we pronounce it as 'hold', yet we spell it as 'hodl' only in crypto  Grin

but I pronounce it as 'ho-del' , coz you can't pronounce 'd' and 'l' without a vowel sound, it is what it is

Another is that it got defined in Investopedia as well.
https://www.investopedia.com/terms/h/hodl.asp
started from 2013 now we're here! started from 2013, now the whole crypto team is here!  Cool
1975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin so unstable? on: August 14, 2020, 02:44:00 PM
There's lot of factor i think

one of it
I think the bitcoin price is unstable because everyone can mine it
when everyone can mine the coin, one person or corporate can dumped it at any time  Undecided that my thought
So basically what you are trying to say is that because of the decentralization bitcoin so unstable and it is simply works. There are available bitcoins always and any one can move freely in and out the market making the instability of bitcoin at its finest. It starts of with mining, they can just sell it out once they mined it but I doubt they are really doing that during these days coz bitcoin can potentially reach its ATH this year.
And yes, gold, uhmm we can assume that it won't lose its value even if the world economy is disastrously bad.

Sabagay. Actually may bago siyang post kung bakit raw ganoon kamahal.
Look here:

What do you think? Convincing ba?
Syempre naka minimum investment lang rin ako haha so let's see  Grin
1977  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Importance of Bitcoin during the Pandemic on: August 13, 2020, 07:49:58 PM
The importance of bitcoin in this pandemic it can help you to earn money you just need gadget and you don't need to go out because right now it's to dangerous to go out.
But is bitcoin really important? I mean we got still a lot of opportunity to earn during the pandemic not just bitcoin besides it is not always green in bitcoin, you cannot just expect money to go right away after hours of investing, it does not work like that. And if you are just a normal/average citizen you can't just shot you bullets into bitcoin coz you still got expenses in daily living and you need to save especially now that most of the jobs are pause, as what you said it is dangerous to go outside.

And right now many people loss their job because in the pandemic they need sideline to earn money so I want to recommend bitcoin to them because it can help them big time
Sideline not risks after risk. Bitcoin is risky, maybe you thought it was all good with bitcoin because of the recent pump but it really ain't. It is better to find consistent job during this time, and we got a lot of that in the internet.
1978  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is This Site Legit? on: August 13, 2020, 05:03:33 PM
Well I believe most of these review sites or ranking sites are fake, it's just me so don't believe, I just feel like they were paid to put that on their platforms. Did you know that most of the online reviews are paid? I know you're aware of some. There are some platforms that hires people for an HONEST REVIEW of their platform and services which should indicate the bugs they encounter, errors, delays, etc.

There have been many reports about 1xbit so I don't think they belong to that review. sorry.
1979  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Casinos Scared of Lawsuits on: August 13, 2020, 04:27:35 PM
I can't say I'm surprised to read this thread given the lack of knowledge being made in the "Las Vegas Casinos are open" thread.  As long as the Casinos can demonstrate they were following State Legislature, or Federal Government legislation concerning social distancing, hand hygiene and face mask wearing, then the Casino's themselves will have a defense that they were following the mandated guidelines.
Let's be realistic here, America has the highest covid cases in the world and I don't think a simple social distancing will work at the casino besides they are going physically contact basically everything on the casino which they might get the virus. If there are going to rules it should be strict as hell coz America is the most hit country, people would not know if the virus is just on their bags, towels, etc. and is just waiting for the hosts. Casinos should consider the fact that the virus is contagious.
1980  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I use unconfirmed funds? on: August 13, 2020, 03:06:05 PM
Which wallet allows sending without a confirmation?

Lots of them. I do this in Electrum frequently.

It is entirely possible to spend unconfirmed transactions. Spending unconfirmed funds is exactly what a child-pays-for-parent (CPFP) transaction is. Either the first transaction will be confirmed first and the second transaction confirmed in a later block, or both transactions will be confirmed at the same time in the same block.

If you are not in a hurry, you can chain up any number of unconfirmed transactions with any fees you like and simply wait for them all to confirm. If you are in a hurry, then you can effectively "bump" the fee of the initial unconfirmed transaction by paying an excessive fee on a second transaction. If the average fee rate of the two transactions together is high enough, then miners will include the initial low fee transaction so they can also include the second high fee transaction in the same block.

There are uncommon but potential issues with chains of unconfirmed transactions, such as transaction malleability, but that's outside the scope of what OP was asking.

What? UNCONFIRMED? Am I the only person who doesn't know this because I never tried it? Haha.
Yeah me too haha, I haven't tried it yet or even just thought of it at first coz it is so simple, how do we use funds that isn't in us yet, it turns out that there are wallets that has this feature as the other says CPFP. I use a wallet where it does not let me use unconfirmed transaction, it needs to be confirmed many times before it arrives.

I always assumed that Electrum required at least one confirmation before you can spend your coins, but I'm a pleb.
I have not use electrum yet, I just use a local wallet, and yes as what the others said you can do it in electrum.
